Waching daily Feb 18 2019

Matt Hogan here from MoveMe Quotes and thanks for tuning in!

This is Episode #7 of our MoveMe Quote of the week series

and let's jump right into it!

Our quote this week is from Philip McGraw and it's a quick one,

"Life is managed, not cured."

I've had several conversations this week with people who felt like

their life was out of whack.

Who felt an incredible amount of anxiety and stress

in trying to get their life "fixed" and trying to get "it" figured out.

But the thing about life is that life isn't an "it"—

Life is a vast array of, "its."

Life is filled with endless possibilities and choices that we have to make every day.

And it's something that we have to learn how to manage better; how to balance better...

Not how to fix.

So, once we come to terms with that reality

then what we need to do is ask ourselves the right question.

The right question isn't, "How can I fix my life?"

The right question is, "How can I manage my life better."

And the best way to do that is to find clarity in your priorities.

Once you have a clear set of priorities it's much easier to take action and move forward.

Fogginess in mind leads to wandering, leads to drifting, leads to stagnation, and inaction.

Once we have clarity we know what we have to do and we do it.

For example,

I manage a martial arts school

and I manage all of the martial art instructors that teach all of the different ages in the school

and so part of my job

is to make sure that the instructors are in their best state

and they're in their best position to help those students.

So, I give the instructors a very clear set of priorities

that I want them to follow before they even step foot on the mat to teach.

My instructors know

that family comes first,

school and work—like self-improvement work—comes second,

training in martial arts comes third,

and then teaching in martial arts comes forth.

It's a very clear set of priorities that helps all of us

take better actions—if there's a family emergency then that presides

over everything else and that's what should be addressed first.

If there's a family gathering or a family occasion that would be meaningful to attend

then that's what presides first.

Second priority is schooling and education—self-education.

So if the instructors are in higher education—if they're in college

and they're trying to balance out courses with teaching,

then that's the second priority they need to make sure their self-education comes second

because they can only teach as good as they are.

And the better they become, the better instructor they'll be.

So that's always the second priority is getting your self-work done.

Third priority is training in martial arts,

Because you can't be a great martial arts instructor if you're not a great martial artist.

The last priority in this circumstance is then teaching.

It's a very clear set of priorities

it keeps the instructors on an optimal path

and it keeps everybody in balance

because we cover for each other when one of those other priorities

are in need or one of those other priorities fall in place for those

instructors to be called out.

So, what I recommend

is that you find a similar clarity

for other areas in your life.

What are your priorities and how does the list go?

What's your priority for family and work and self-improvement and training?

How do those priorities fall in your list?

And once you can clearly set them

then all you have to do is divvy up your time accordingly.

Make sure that you're...

if family is a priority, then your family is getting time divvied up to them.

If work is a priority then, or self-work is a priority —self-improvement—

then your self-improvement is getting a priority, is getting your time.

and so on and so forth.

Wherever you divvy up your time is ultimately how you're gonna end up spending your life.

So make sure that your daily priorities are a reflection

of how you want your life to be spent.

So, that's the thought for this week,

I hope you enjoyed this quote and I hope you enjoyed the thoughts that we're provoked from it.

If you enjoyed it, let us know by hitting that thumbs up button!

...Always appreciated.

And let us know in the comment section below what you thought...

Let us know what your priority list is and how you move forward in life with

clarity or let us know if you're having a hard time if you're struggling.

Maybe one of us can step in and help out and create a conversation that matters;

that might inspire somebody else.

So, thanks for watching!

And I look forward to seeing you guys again next week!

Take care.

News24 - The reason why Zidane is unsure of United or Chelsea job - Duration: 3:47.

According to one of the experts of French football, Zinedine Zidane would face the same problems as Manchester United boss as he would as Chelsea's head honcho

According to Express Sport, French football expert Julien Laurens believes that Zidane is unsure about taking over at either Manchester United or Chelsea because the football icon doesn't speak a single word of English

Laurens stressed the point that given Zidane is the type of manager that prides himself on his man-management abilities – that this could pose some problems for the 46-year-old if he was to come to England

According to The Sun, Chelsea would like Zidane to be their next manager should Maurizio Sarri be sacked

The Chelsea hierarchy believe that the Frenchman can take the Blues back to the very top of world football

Zidane being thrown into the air by the Real Madrid players after leading them to a record-breaking three consecutive Champions League triumphs

Here's what Laurens had to say on the language barrier that Zidane could face: "I think the idea of coaching one of the big clubs in the Premier League of course is appealing to him

"There's a few issues there, the language, and we talked about it before when he was linked with Manchester United as well

"Zinedine Zidane is a manager who works a lot on man-management. They're not all like this but he is very much like this

"And the language, he doesn't speak a word of English, I think he would see it as a problem to get his message across to the players

"But also the way he man-manages all his players, all his dressing room to make everybody feel important, for example like he did in Madrid

That would be an issue. It would be a massive risk for Zidane to come to the Premier League without knowing a single word of English, we've seen a shift between the power of players and managers in the last decade which means that Zidane will have to bite the bullet if the players feel as though they don't have a good relationship with the Frenchman

It's understood that Zidane is also unsure on taking the reigns at Chelsea given their lack of stability when it comes to their managers: "The fact that he won't like the lack of stability at Chelsea with managers coming in and coming out very regularly – two years for [Antonio] Conte, maybe even less for Sarri

"That's something he doesn't like and enjoy, that kind of spirit. "So there are a lot of things I am not sure he will be so keen on

"However, Chelsea are a huge club and he will obviously be interested in a big club and the Premier League is a league that interests him very much

" The chances of Zidane becoming the next permanent boss of United are becoming less likely now as a result of the successful start that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had at Old Trafford

Foreign government is responsible for cyber hack on Australias Parliament Daily Mail Online - Duration: 4:26.

Foreign government is responsible for cyber hack on Australias Parliament Daily Mail Online

The computer networks of Australias major political parties were hit by a sophisticated cyber attack by a state actor that affected the networks of federal parliament, the prime minister has confirmed.

Scott Morrison says an investigation into a breach of the Australian Parliament House network on February 8 found the networks of the Liberal, Labor and Nationals were also affected.

A state actor is believed responsible for the attack, Mr Morrison said.

The computer networks of Australias major political parties were affected by a recent sophisticated cyber attack on federal parliament, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed file picture

Security sources indicated last week China could be the source.

I do not propose to go into the detail of these operational matters, but our cyber experts believe that a sophisticated state actor is responsible for this malicious activity, Mr Morrison told parliament on Monday.

The prime minister says there is no evidence of any electoral interference.

But the government has put in place a number of measures to ensure the integrity of the electoral system regardless.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre is also available to help any electoral body or political party seeking support.

We have acted decisively to protect our national interests, Mr Morrison said.

Scott Morrison says an investigation into a breach of the Australian Parliament House network on February 8 found the networks of the Liberal, Labor and Nationals were also affected

The methods used by malicious actors are constantly evolving and this incident just reinforces yet again the importance of cybersecurity as a fundamental part of everyones business.

A Liberal party spokesman said the party was working closely with security agencies on the matter.

In March 2011, it was reported China was suspected of accessing the email system used by federal MPs, advisers, electorate staff and parliamentary employees.

Mr Morrisons comments come after Senate President Scott Ryan confirmed there had been no more breaches of the federal parliamentary computer system since February 8.

Senator Ryan last week advised that there was no evidence that any data has been accessed, but that MPs and staff were required to change their passwords.

Labor leader Bill Shorten said the attempted hacking is of grave concern and comes after attempted infiltration of democratic processes overseas, including in the United Kingdom and the United States.

We cannot be complacent and, as this most recent activity reported by the prime minister indicates, we are not exempt or immune, he told parliament.

Why Is The Verge/VOX Media "Adulting" The YouTube Tech Community? - Duration: 6:53.

After I posted my video last week about Bill Maher "adulting" Stan Lee, comic book, and

superhero fans, a friend asked if I was worried that Bill Maher or HBO would copy strike

my video.

I told him I was not.

My video was fair use under the copyright law because I took five short clips from Bill

Mayer's video to provide context and added my own commentary.

If Bill Maher did not want the renewed attention, he should not have doubled down on a controversial

blog post that he wrote just days after Stan Lee's death and released his video just days

before a Stan Lee's tribute in Hollywood.

Why do I bring this up now?

Vox Media, the parent company of The Verge, brought renewed attention to their terrible

PC build guide video from five months ago by copy striking two popular reaction videos

from Bitwit and ReviewTechUSA.

Although YouTube removed the copy strikes from the videos, The Verge's justification

for "adulting" the tech community was much worse than copy striking the videos in the

first place.

(cinematic music)

My name is C.D. Reimer and welcome to my channel.

Please comment, like, and subscribe, and click on the notification to see more videos

like this.

The Verge posted a sponsored video by Capital One on how to build a $2,000 gaming PC

in September 2018.

That build video contained so many errors and blunders that most experienced PC builders

thought or hoped that it were a parody video on how NOT to build a PC.

As a serious video making serious mistakes that could damage a $2,000 PC, the build video

was a serious problem for the tech community.

Numerous reaction videos criticized or parodied the build video for two weeks straight.

The Verge initially turned off the comments and hid the like/dislike buttons on the video,

later took down the video and corrected their published article, and then complained about

a "racist harassment campaign".

Paul at Paul's Hardware in his video goes into much greater detail about what happened

then and the copy strike earlier this week.

Except for the running joke about plastic zip ties being tweezers, the build video was

long forgotten by the tech community.

The most popular reaction video to The Verge build guide video was by Kyle at Bitwit,

playing his alter ego, Lyle, who knows everything and nothing about building PCs.

Lyle reminded me of a roommate from 15 years ago who bought all the parts to build a Pentium

4 PC, had a popular build guide from a gaming magazine to follow, and did not want my help

in building his PC.

Never mind that I had ten years of experience of building and rebuilding hundreds of PCs

at that time in my technical career.

My roommate built his PC, turned it on and nothing happened.

Since he lacked the experience to troubleshoot his newly built system and the humility to

ask for help, he started dismantling his PC to return the parts to Fry's Electronics.

I could sympathize with his situation because that happened to my first PC build with a

486 processor, except that I had no build guide to follow and no one to ask for help.

He did asked me if the processor was supposed to be sticking to the bottom of the heat sink.

I saw that the processor was indeed sticking to the thermal paste on the bottom

of the heatsink.

I told him that he had skipped a step in the build guide for properly seating and locking

down the processor in the socket.

After he fixed that problem, his PC booted up just fine.

Not surprisingly, he bragged about how he built that PC all by himself and he was an

expert PC builder.

The Verge eventually put out a statement regarding the copy strikes.

Boogie2988 has an excellent video tearing that statement apart paragraph by paragraph.

The Verge's statement did not take responsibility for putting out a bad build video, hiding

behind accusations of racism, and abusing YouTube's horrendously broken copyright system.

Like Bill Maher who doubled down on Stan Lee, The Verge doubled down by #adulting

the tech community.

The Verge is the adult and the tech community is the child.

This entire situation could have been avoided if the child had talk to the adult first and

not shouted from the virtual rooftops that the adult was a clueless idiot.

As Boogie 2988 pointed out in his video, the fair use provision of the copyright law does

not require someone to get copyright holder's permission to create content.

Rich at ReviewTechUsa pointed out in his video from this morning that the two copy strikes

were probably trial balloons to see if the removals would stick before going after all

the other reaction videos.

The Verge and VOX Media has yet another PR disaster of their own making.

This was not the topic I wanted to discuss this week.

I just got the parts to replace my motherboard, processor and memory in my editing and video

game PC, and was looking at various AMD Ryzen build guides on YouTube when

the copy strikes came down.

Since I did not pile on the Verge five months ago,

I decided to throw in my two bits this time around.

I will be putting out a video about my new PC parts in the near future, so make sure

you are subscribed and have the notification bell turned on.

Links to everything that I mentioned in this video can be found in the description below.

Thank you for watching.
