Hilary From Fresh Prince Is Still Turning Heads At 52 - Duration: 4:10.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's Hilary Banks was quite the character.

Not a goody-goody like brother Carlton and not so much of a button-pusher like cousin

Will, Hilary was the fashionista of the family, quick to shop and often lacking common sense.

"I haven't been this happy since I bought my Giorgio Armani suit."

Given her good looks, she was likely many '90s kids' first crush, and, despite it being

decades since the show first premiered, the actress who played her, Karyn Parsons, is

still dropping jaws.

Karyn Parsons premiered the Hilary character in 1990, back when the show's biggest star,

Will Smith, was still primarily known as a rapper.

In an interview with NPR in 2014, Parsons, who turned 52 in 2018, recalled how she snagged

the role.

Revealing that the character was originally described as a "model type," Parsons assumed

she wouldn't get the job.

She said:

"My first reaction to it was oh, well, this is ridiculous.

I'm not going to get this.

I'm not a model type, you know?

This is silly.

And so I did what I could do, which was I kind of turned her into a little bit of a

real brat."

Fortunately, her take on Hilary apparently won over the casting directors, and thank

goodness it did, could you imagine Hilary as anything other than a whiny, spoiled rich

girl?

"Good god, who shot the couch?"

Thinking back to her time on the series, Parsons told NPR:

"It was fun to play that girl.

It was fun to just be so self-absorbed that you say those ridiculous things.

That was definitely my big break…

I definitely wouldn't be who I am now if I hadn't had the experience of playing Hilary

Banks."

But of course, Fresh Prince couldn't last forever.

After the show ended in 1996, Parsons moved on, appearing in a few short-lived TV series

like Lush Life, The Job, and Fly.

But she seems to have largely given up starring on the small screen.

Rather, she's focused on charitable work, founding the organization Sweet Blackberry.

The nonprofit, for which Parsons serves as president, aims to, quote, "bring little known

stories of African American achievement to children everywhere," as noted by its website.

"Unfortunately, I think there's such a small amount of time that's dedicated to sharing

stories of African American achievement."

Sweet Blackberry has worked with the likes of rapper-actress Queen Latifah and comedian

Chris Rock to create several animated films.

When asked about the organization, Parsons told Forbes:

"It's important to shed the light on people that we don't hear about.

There are so many stories that are so inspiring and offer so much to all children.

For children of color, they offer something really great and fortifying.

We don't have enough of that."

Parsons has also focused on her writing career.

As Essence reported in August 2018, Parsons will release her debut novel, How High the

Moon, on March 5, 2019.

The historical book, which will be published by Little, Brown and Company, is set in the

"Jim Crow south" and, quote, "follows a girl through those tumultuous times as she attempts

to reconnect with her mother and learn the truth about her father."

While Parsons has not officially retired from acting, she has admitted that she doesn't

exactly have the time to book acting gigs right now.

She told Sway's Universe in 2017:

"I have two young kids, I've got Sweet Blackberry, I'm really busy, and it's really hard to continue

or pursue the acting thing right now."

Clearly, Parsons is a lot less self-absorbed than her Fresh Prince character was.

"Ashley, honey, how would you like to go into the kitchen and introduce Mr. Teabag and Mr.

Teapot to Mr. Boiling Water?"

As for her personal life, Karyn Parsons is on her second marriage, and, by all accounts,

her relationship is going strong.

Parsons, who'd previously tied the knot with Reservoir Dogs actor Randy Brooks before divorcing

in the '90s, is married to Alexandre Rockwell, whom she wed in 2003.

The couple share two children: Lana and Nico.

Fortunately for fans of Parsons, they can still follow along with her professional and

personal lives by checking out her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

There, she's posted multiple photos documenting Fresh Prince cast reunions, posing alongside

former co-stars like Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, and Daphne Reid.

But, with or without her Fresh Prince crew, Parsons is obviously going places, and we

Hij had het over de ledendag van het Forum voor Democratie in Den Haag afgelopen zaterdag, waar talloze FVD'ers zich verzamelden in de Tweede Kamer om eens omringd te zijn door politieke vrienden

Een dag vol lezingen, zo blijkt uit het filmmateriaal, maar er gebeurden ook tal van andere zaken

 Zo konden jeugdige lavendelsnuivers in de schoenen van hun politieke idool treden en in de plenaire zaal van de Tweede Kamer met elkaar de degens kruisen, kon er geschaakt worden en was er uiteraard buitengewoon veel gelegenheid voor selfies en andere foto's

 Voor de leden een mooi dagje uit, maar uiteraard was het rondleiden door de Tweede Kamer niet het enige doel van de FVD-ledendag: er staan natuurlijk verkiezingen voor de deur, dus het is van belang om zoveel mogelijk mensen zo enthousiast mogelijk te krijgen voor de stembusgang

Want wie verkiezingen zegt, zegt campagnevoeren. En zonder razendenthousiast kader dat dag en nacht voor je stemmen wil werven, red je het gewoon niet

Alabama woman who joined ISIS is begging to come home

Five years and three husbands later, she says she regrets what she did and is begging to return to the US.

In a recent handwritten note obtained by CNN from a family representative, , "When I left to Syria I was a naive, angry, and arrogant young woman. I thought that I understood my religious beliefs."

But after witnessing the devastation of war, including the death of two husbands, Muthana said she became disillusioned.

"During my years in Syria I would see and experience a way of life and the terrible effects of war which changed me. Seeing bloodshed up close changed me. Motherhood changed me. Seeing friends, children, and the men I married dying changed me," the now 24 year old wrote.

"Seeing how different a society could be compared to the beloved America I was born and raised into changed me. Being where I was and seeing the people around me scared me because I realized I didnt want to be a part of this. My beliefs werent the same as theirs."

CNN has not yet been able to speak with her directly.

Outspoken support

Once described as shy and reserved by a high school classmate, Muthana was fiercely outspoken in her support for jihad after joining ISIS. During the height of the self declared caliphate, Muthana posted tweets calling for violence, according to the Program on Extremism at the George Washington University.

"Hoda was right in the mix for English language propagandists," said terror researcher Seamus Hughes. "We followed her for a number of years. She was a key node."

She demanded more Americans come to the self proclaimed Caliphate and join the fight with ISIS.

"Soooo many Aussies and Brits here, but where are the Americans, wake up u cowards," she posted in January 2015.

And under the name Umm Jihad, she encouraged attacks in the US, tweeting this exhortation in March 2015: "Go on drive bys and spill all of their blood, or rent a big truck and drive all over them."

According to Mia Bloom, who tracks female jihadis at Georgia State University, "She was one advocating for extreme violence, especially against American military and servicemen."

In a February 19 interview with ABC News, Muthana said she is now ashamed of those posts, and wishes she could take them back. She said she feels remorse and sorrow and regret, and begged to return home.

"I hope America doesnt think Im a threat to them and I hope they can accept me," she told ABC.

But if she does end up returning to the US, it may not be on her own terms.

Hassan Shibly, head of Floridas Council on American Islamic Relations and a representative for her family, said the family understands Muthana may be prosecuted, believes in the legal system, and asks only for due process.

The Justice Department did not comment on whether she would be extradited or prosecuted.

State Department spokesman Robert Palladino said Tuesday that he could not discuss her particular case, but said that for any ISIS members in Syria, the departments policy, "in this regard, would be to repatriate them and thats what we call on all countries to do."

Asked if ISIS members could be sent to the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Palladino would only say: "The US government is considering various alternative disposition options, for foreign terrorist fighters who cannot be repatriated."

Kurdish refuge

According to Muthana, she ran away from ISIS a few weeks ago and headed for the Kurdish area in northern Syria, where she is now in a camp for the displaced with her 18 month old son. In her note, she speaks of her sons future.

"In my quiet moments in between bombings, starvation, cold, and fear I would look at my beautiful little boy, and know that I didnt belong here, and neither did he," she wrote.

Only now does she "really understand how important the freedoms that we have in America are."

But Hughes, the researcher, has words of caution.

"Lets not put a rosy color on what she did," he said. "She joined a foreign terrorist organization."

 Robson made his feelings clear on Jorginho shortly after he joined the Blues last summer

 The pundit claimed the £57million signing from Napoli does not have the qualities to be a defensive midfielder

 Robson said last August: "I don't think he's a good defensive player, I don't think he's a good player in that holding midfield role

 "As a holding-midfield player, you need to have athleticism to cover your full-back, you need to be a good reader of the game, get in-between your centre-halves when the ball's in wide areas, you need to be able to close the ball down and win it back

 "You need to be able to be, I would say, still a creative passer. "Jorginho I don't think has got any of those qualities

" Italy international Jorginho has received criticism in recent weeks, with Chelsea dropping down to sixth in the Premier League table

 And Robson has once again pointed the finger at the 27-year-old, claiming he is why the Blues have been struggling

 Speaking this week, Robson said: "[Maurizio] Sarri's sticking with the same old policy and there's a player in there that I think is the main reason why Chelsea aren't winning enough games

 "That's, you know I'm going to say, Jorginho. "As I said right at the start of the season he can't run, which means he can't defend spaces outside of the full-backs

 "He can't head the ball so he can't get between his centre-halves and do a good defensive job there

 "He can't see a forward pass unless he's got a lot of time on the ball, so he can only pass backwards and square
