Book Printing for Musicians with Bookbaby - Duration: 1:40.Hi, I'm Tony van Veen CEO of Disc Makers.
As an artist, you know that a significant amount of your music income comes from selling
products at gigs.
Selling CDs, selling shirts, etc.
But one cool idea that we're starting to see here is that artists start using books.
They print books and they sell them at their merch table.
What you may not know is Disc Makers has a sister company called BookBaby right here
in our same building, and I'm standing in the midst of our book print shop.
We print books for independent authors and for independent artists.
And so, I have a couple of samples here.
You know, the book could be anything that you want to write about.
It could be stories about your journey as an artist.
If you have been an artist for a while or you've had a band for a while you know it
could be a history and a biography of the band and of the members.
Or even something that's pretty straightforward which is kind of putting together images from
the bands history, concerts played, media, press, cool pictures.
There are lots of cool things that you can do as an artist to really enrich your merch
table.
And fans love it because a book is great to autograph once you sell it and could be a
real revenue generator.
So I hope you try it go to bookbaby.com we have friendly folks ready to standby and help
you get that book done.
I hope you find this helpful, see ya next time!

Steven Gerrard to play for Liverpool Legends against AC Milan - Duration: 3:03.Steven Gerrard will return to Anfield as a player next month after being selected for Liverpool Legends against AC Milan
In a repeat of the historic 2005 Champions League final, Gerrard will once again pull on the red shirt
The captain that night in Istanbul is the eighth member of Liverpool's winning squad 14 years ago that have been reunited to take on AC Milan Glorie on March 23
He will join Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia, Luis Garcia, Vladimir Smicer, Djimi Traore, Djibril Cisse and Jerzy Dudek
The Rangers boss is delighted to get involved: 'The LFC Legends game is always a great day with a fantastic atmosphere;=
'I get to catch up with old teammates and play alongside footballing legends while raising money for a fantastic cause, the LFC Foundation
'With AC Legends like Maldini, Kaká, Dida and Gattuso coming to Anfield, the crowds are in for a treat; and with our European Cup history it's going to be an extremely competitive game
' Proceeds from the match will go to the LFC Foundation, which aims to create life changing opportunities for children and young people, and a proportion will be donated to AC Milan's official charity, Fondazione Milan
Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen - stars of Gerard Houllier's 2001 Treble-winning season - reprise their role in attack while Alan Kennedy - a two-time European Cup winner and five-time league winner with Liverpool in the 1970s and 80s - is also down to feature
Liverpool were 3-0 down at half-time against Milan in the 2005 final after conceding in the first minute through Paolo Maldini before a Hernan Crespo double
But the rest is history, with Rafa Benitez's side surging back to 3-3 in six hectic second-half minutes
Gerrard sparked the comeback with a header in the 54th minute before Smicer and Xabi Alonso completed the turnaround
Jerzy Dudek engraved himself into Liverpool folklore by saving two spot-kicks in a penalty shootout as the Reds sealed their fifth European Cup

Why male leaders should advocate for women in the workplace - Duration: 1:03.I think male leaders need to be intentional
about advocating for women in leadership.
Establishing an inclusive environment
allows us to get everyone's ideas on the table.
It allows us to think about things
from a different perspective.
And so a lot of times,
making sure you have an inclusive environment
is really about making sure you're driving the best idea,
that you arrive at the best decision
because you've taken all relevant input,
not just the dominant people in the room,
or the people who've historically been dominant in the room.
You know, on a personal level, I have two daughters.
And I want them to go out into the world
and be able to achieve their dreams
and compete on a fair basis,
and have every opportunity that any man has.
Also, on a professional level, I worked alongside many talented women,
and I think we always do better
when people are given a fair and equal opportunity.
When women are empowered as leaders, everybody wins.

✅ Breaking News - Grant in line for Huddersfield full debut vs Newcastle, hints Siewert - Duration: 3:20.Huddersfield boss Jan Siewert may turn to rookie striker Karlan Grant in a bid to halt the club's Premier League slide
Grant, a £2million signing from Charlton last month, stepped off the bench to score his first Terriers goal in the recent home defeat by Arsenal and could make his first start on Saturday at Newcastle
The 21-year-old has scored 14 times for Charlton this season and was credited with Huddersfield's goal against Arsenal after the club successfully appealed against the initial decision to credit it to visiting defender Sead Kolasinac
'That has definitely given him a lift,' said Siewert, who will take charge of his fourth game since replacing David Wagner
'He directly came to me after the (Arsenal) game and said "boss it was my goal" and I said "I saw it
"'Now it's proved that it was his goal, so it has given him a lift and also in training he's coming on more and more I would say
Share this article Share 'He's showed already why we bought him and he's really had an impact
He's come from League One and it's a big jump, but he's proved he was right to make the jump
'When asked if Grant will make his first start at St James' Park, Siewert said: 'Maybe
'Grant could replace Elias Kachunga, who has been unwell this week, while Town's other strikers, Steve Mounie and Laurent Depoitre, have mustered just one goal between them this season
The Terriers have been cast adrift at the bottom of the table after losing 12 of their last 13 league matches
They are 14 points adrift of safety with 12 games to go, but Siewert refuses to concede they appear destined for the trapdoor
'Who writes this?' he said. 'I haven't read this to be fair. You all know it's a difficult situation, but do you like Huddersfield Town? You want us to stay in the Premier League? Then we will go for it
'This is how I'm thinking. Of course you all have to write what you think, but I'm positive
'I know what's happening at the moment and I know it's a difficult task for us, I'm not stupid
'But it's like we watched Newcastle, we've analysed them, and we've got to go for points there
'Goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and defender Chris Lowe will return to contention after both missed out against Arsenal through illness
Winger Isaac Mbenza is recovering from a torn calf muscle, while midfielder Danny Williams (knee) and Abdelhamid Sabiri (collarbone) are both edging closer to full fitness

Reds boss Klopp hit with huge fine for West Ham comments - Duration: 3:18.Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been fined £45,000 by the Football Association for comments made after the Reds' 1-1 draw with West Ham United earlier this month
The hefty sanction is for statements that have been viewed as questioning the integrity of match official Kevin Friend after the game at the London Stadium on February 4
Klopp claimed the referee had been influenced by Sadio Mane's opening goal, which was allowed despite James Milner being clearly offside in the build-up
"I heard our goal was offside, I'm pretty sure the ref knew that," Klopp told BBC Sport after the game
"In 50-50 situations (after that) it was always a free-kick for the other team, which was hard and did not make life easy
" In different comments made to Sky Sports, the Liverpool boss again expressed his unhappiness with Mr Friend
"As a human being, if I know I have made a big mistake in the first half, I don't want to open the gap any more
"Referees are obviously human beings, and I understand that, but I didn't during the game because I had no clue that our goal was offside
" A tweet from the FA Spokesperson account read: " Jurgen Klopp has been fined £45,000 after accepting an FA charge for comments made following Liverpool's league game against West Ham United on 4 February 2019
"His comments made during a post-match interview breached FA Rule E3(1), as they questioned the integrity of the match referee and/or implied bias
" It's not the first time Klopp has found himself in hot water with the governing body this season
Back in December, Klopp was fined £8,000 from the FA for what was seen as an excessive celebration to Divock Origi's 95th-minute winner in the Merseyside derby
It was a sanction the German readily accepted after wildly celebrating the dramatic derby triumph by running onto the pitch to hug goalkeeper Alisson Becker
"If you break the rules you have to be fined for it," he said. "If there was no rule then managers would constantly celebrate on the pitch
I don't think anyone thought it was massively wrong. "The last time I did that was about 14 years ago
I'm not as quick now."

2019 Kristi Roberts: Signing up for the Walk to End Alzheimer's - Duration: 0:54.Signing up for the Walk to End Alzheimer's couldn't be easier.
It's free.
We encourage people to fundraise, of course, so we really want you to use your community
and leverage your network to get as many donations as you can.
There are lots of fun incentives for fundraising too.
The best, I think, is being a Grand Champion, which means that you fundraise a 1000 dollars,
and on Walk Day, you get to be part of the Grand Champions tent.
So, you have things like chair massages and special refreshments,
and your own area of the event, so that is a great incentive, I think,
for people who are goal oriented, like me.

Man Utd chief Ed Woodward was willing to sign one star for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January - Duration: 2:55.Manchester United chief Woodward appointed Solskjaer as the club's interim boss in December, having grown tired of Jose Mourinho's mood swings
And the 45-year-old is now expected to stay for the long haul, having won 11 of his first 13 games since taking charge
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed he and Woodward have been discussing Manchester United transfer targets going forward, despite the 45-year-old's future being uncertain
And a centre-back is top of their list. The Evening Standard say Napoli bulldozer Kalidou Koulibaly is the Red Devils' standout transfer target for when the window reopens at the end of the season
And they claim that Woodward was even prepared to fork out for the Senegal international in January
However, the United bigwig chose to save his money for a summer spending spree after Napoli turned down two offers
And Koulibaly could yet make the move to Old Trafford despite a transfer in January failing to materialise
The defender's agent, meanwhile, has been discussing his client's future. And Bruno Satin has appeared to rule out a move to Juventus, who have also been linked with the Napoli star
"Koulibaly at Juventus? He's very close to Napoli, the club and above all to the city," Satin told Radio Kiss Kiss
"I don't think he would ever betray them to go to Juventus, but let's not forget that they are professional players
"If you have the chance to play on important stages, you listen, even if I repeat he is very close to Napoli
" The Evening Standard say Koulibaly is not the only player on United's transfer wishlist
Milan Skriniar, of Inter Milan, is also in their sights. And so too is Harry Maguire, who has impressed for Leicester so far this season
Koulibaly, however, is United's dream option. And the player himself is supposedly open to the idea of moving to the Premier League

A Head for the Future TBI Champions Roxana Delgado & Victor Medina - Duration: 3:18.For me, I was a loving wife,
just doing what I committed to do when we got married.
And it's not until later that I noticed,
yeah, I am doing a little bit more than
the normal things that I used to do.
[MUSIC]
He went on deployment.
He did fabulous things to always make me feel
very important in his life.
Victor has been deployed three times.
But in the third deployment is when he was wounded,
and he sustained a moderate brain injury.
My wife, at that time, she had to drive me everywhere.
And she did everything — even cut my food.
His mobility was especially affected,
and that's when I started advocating for his care.
Being a caregiver is a very interesting position,
and it can be also very convoluted —
because how do you separate from being the wife
to be that person that is assisting?
One day he said, "I notice that your eyes
don't spark the same way they used to."
And I had to confess to him that
I was seeing him more as a friend. And I said,
"I just want to be your best friend." And Victor said,
"Oh no, that's not acceptable.
I am going to make you fall in love with me again,
and you are going to love the new me all over again."
And he did.
He knew that he could overcome
all the things that he was experiencing.
For him, his goal was being independent.
He wanted to go back to driving and doing his own things.
After 18 months of rehab,
we started noticing a complete shift of getting better.
And getting better doesn't mean that things get cured;
it's just that the person overcomes their disabilities.
I'm fully independent.
I have learned to work around the disabilities.
I met with my speech pathologist.
And she sat down with me, and she told me,
"What are your goals in life?"
And I told her, "I want to go back to school."
He wanted to focus on doing something
in a degree that he could continue to help other veterans.
How he continues to help is through the foundation.
He wants to inspire veterans to really take a stand on
and own their own condition — and overcome the disabilities
and be able to be successful.
We love helping others. There is a secret about service:
The more we serve, the happier we get.
The reality is that we don't define our life
based on what exists, but how we live.
So 20 years from now, we'll have two sets of memories,
before and after the injury.
But not necessarily one is going to be
worse than the other one.
They're both going to be beautiful.
You know, life is good.

Making Subtitles for Videos - Duration: 4:55.Today we're going to talk about the subtitle format
The most popular and the most common is 'SRT'
And the good news is 'SRT' Works on everything
It's easily made
In fact 'SRT's are basicly text files
With the times stamps added to them
Now you could really do this with any text editor
There is nothing stopping you from understanding the time stamps
And making a subtitle file in vim
But if you're like me, you're more of a visual person
And it's always good to have a visual representation
So the subtitles we're going to be making today
We're gonna use a program called "Subtitle Editor"
[METAL AS FUCK INTRO]
first thing we want to do is make a project
We want to open a video
There's my gorgeous face
We got the video loaded but now we want a waveform
What this does is generate a waveform
That will give us a visual guide of where things are
This might take a few seconds depending on the length of the video. This video is very short
A lot easier to understand where you are
That's right, we use the INSERT key
Here we have the START, END, and DURATION
You can find the start point
That part ends in about 4 seconds
So we want this to end about 4.4 seconds in
And we want the start at about 1
You can see the waveform from here to there
Let's test that out
when we want to add a new line, we just hit INSERT
Generally is does a .100 jump between text sections
It was 4.400 and the new line is 4.500
This looks close to 4.600
I'm using the visual guide over here to help me see
If you don't have quick recall, like I DONT seem to have, this can be a bit challenging
Once you get into the flow of it, it gets a lot easier
So this subtitle line is kinda long
One trick I came up with is to duplicate the line
Notice how the now both end at the 9 second mark
Now we'll cut this in half
This is where the duration plugin comes in. We're gonna make the 4.4 to 2.2
Now that they're half, together they're 4.4 and the duration is still 9 seconds.
Let's play it back
Let's go back to 6.8. We want to change the text right here
Now when we play it after trimming it in half
You keep building it out and eventually it'll be really good.
One of the simple tricks that make this whole thing awesome
You can use this to make subtitles in other languages
All you have to do is drop your subtitles in to Google translate or equivalent
And you have poorly done, but adequate translated subtitles
Okay, I'm gonna try and do a better job of subtitling my videos
I have a lot of videos without subtitles
The ones I post on Youtube, Youtube autogenerates them
For videos posted anywhere else, if I don't post the 'SRT' files, there are no subtitles
Something I need to work on
Alright Guys, Peace!

How to make the arpeggio sound for Mathew Jonson 'Marionette' - Duration: 7:07.Hello this is Lucas Palmeira from Imaginando and I'm here to give you another tutorial on DRC.
Today I'm going to show you how to make the arpeggio sound for the song 'Marionette' by Mathew Jonson.
So let's get right into it, I already have a DRC on a default patch here.
I'm going to revert it to the default patch.
the only thing I have here is an equaliser to boost a little bit of the lower frequencies,
and let's start…
Raise the MASTER to maximum, go to the second oscillator [OSC 2], drop one octave and change
it to a square wave [SQR]
Also turn on the SYNC, this means that both oscillators will be completely in phase and
will start at the same point..
And now first oscillator [OSC 1] to maximum
Second oscillator to half (0.5)
Now we go to the sub oscillator and raise one octave, then we raise the SUB oscillator to 0.403
Now we go to the filter and the envelope generator 2 amount [EG 2]
which is the amount of this envelope generator modulating the cutoff frequency.
We're gonna drop it to 0.302
Now we drop the CUTOFF to 0.1
Now on the first envelope generator: DECAY we raise it to 0.442
[NOTE: Lucas is changing EG 2 by mistake]
The SUSTAIN we drop it to 0.184
And the RELEASE, we raise it to 0.184
Sorry this was supposed to be the first envelope generator, so [for EG 2] SUSTAIN 0.164, DECAY 0.229 and RELEASE 0.106
Now on the first envelope generator: DECAY to 0.442, SUSTAIN 0.164, RELEASE 0.184
Actually it's 0.184 on both SUSTAIN and RELEASE
Now we go to the modulation page on the filter and we raise the KBD to 0.469
This means the higher the note, the higher the cutoff frequency.
And now we go to the DELAY and raise the amount to 0.5
Turn the SYNC on at 1/8
Drop the FLUTTER to 0, and raise the FEEDBACK to 0.216 so we have a little bit more repetitions.
Finally on the reverb we raise the AMOUNT to 0.442
And the DECAY to 0.739
Let's now listen to this, i'm gonna automate some parameters to give it a little bit more expression, let's listen…
OK, let's listen
And this is it. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial,
don't forget that we have the Ableton session for you to download in the description below.
Don't forget to subscribe to Imaginando's YouTube channel, and we will see you again next week guys, goodbye.
