Meghan & Prince Harry Delayed Awards Show For The Most Touching Reason - Duration: 2:40.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a very good reason for being late to the recent Endeavour
Fund Awards.
THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently met with the mother of a fallen special forces
hero where they made a charming gesture.
Earlier this month, the royal couple held hands as they walked the red carpet for the
awards ceremony honoring service members who have used athletics or adventure to challenge
themselves as part of their recovery and rehabilitation.
However, a special pre-show engagement kept the parents-to-be longer than expected.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with Viv Johnston, whose special forces son Danny died
from suicide last year after suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Danny had spent four years in Afghanistan and Iraq where he been a part of the Special
Reconnaissance Regiment.
Following his return from the Middle East, his life began to spiral downwards and caused
him to commit suicide.
Touchingly, Harry who had also served in Afghanistan had previously written to the grieving mum
when Danny died.
In their meeting with the grieving mother, Harry and Meghan made a vow to do more about
post-traumatic stress disorder and even spoke with her about the charity set up to support
soldiers' mental health.
Viv previously received a letter of condolences from Harry after the 34-year-old royal learned
of Danny's death through a friend who works in Kensington Palace, noting that the prince
was touched by her son's story.
The Endeavour Fund Awards, set up by the Royal Foundation overseen by the Duke and Duchess
of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, celebrated its third year.
Meghan and Harry were there to hand out two of the three prizes during the ceremony.
Former army captain Harry also made a speech.
Meghan took the stage to announce the winner of the Celebrating Excellence Award.
She gave a short speech, saying, "I'm so, so grateful to be back.
Last year was my first time coming and it was such a meaningful night."
Since its launch in 2012, the Endeavour Fund has supported 86 different projects that have
directly assisted more than 5,000 wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
Through their own fundraising, these ventures have collectively raised more than $3 million
for other forces charities.
The awards align with other initiatives to help veterans, including the Invictus Games,
the prince's Paralympic-style contest for sick, injured and wounded serving and former
armed forces members.

There is great government support to work together with a lot of other investors.
But I think in general Finnish environment is pretty fertile to innovations.
It's a great environment for entrepreneurs to move here and localise, set their operations here
I love Finland in the sense of the beauty of the nature and how easy it is to get out
in the nature.
For instance, you know, you just need to take your bicycle and cycle 10 minutes and you
are in the middle of the nature.
You can enjoy great rides either on the road or with your mountain bike.
And when you are lucky and there is cold for long, you can even go skiing on the frozen
lake or frozen sea.
It is a fantastic experience being a foreigner when you are coming and discovering these
new things as well.

this arrives very tightly packaged in a bale,
with plastic wrap and metal straps around it.
So in order for you to break it open the easiest possible way,
all you need to do, is go to the top or the bottom of the bale,
use a razor blade or a pair of scissors,
and just go ahead and break open the bale.
Once you break open the bale,
all you need to do
is pull out what you need to use
for your application and you're good to go.
You can see how tightly packaged this is.
So we fit between 600 and 700 cotton rags in each bale.
These are large old t-shirts that are clean,
and that can be used for your cleaning applications,

The children of Fort Campbell Mahaffey Middle School will indeed have a new construction project to look forward to in the coming year — just maybe not that new schoolhouse they were expecting.
Instead, they might get a border wall — or a fence, or barbed wire, or something like that — about 1,000 miles southwest of their school, which sits on a military base straddling the Kentucky Tennessee line.
Thats because the dollar 62 million that was earmarked for the schools construction is among the billions of dollars already appropriated to the Defense Department, the pot of money the Trump administration now wants to redirect to pay for 230 miles of barriers along the southern border as part of the presidents national emergency declaration.
And those Kentucky middle schoolers will be better off because of it, says Sen. Lindsey Graham R., S.C. .
The powerful Republican and outspoken Trump ally said Sunday that border barriers top a new school.
I would say its better for the middle school kids in Kentucky to have a secure border, Graham said on CBS News Face the Nation. Well get them the school they need, but right now weve got a national emergency on our hands.
There are a few people who take issue with Grahams assertion. Namely, Kentucky teachers.
The president of the Kentucky Education Association, the states teachers union, responded to the senators comments in a statement to the Washington Post.
"KEA supports any funding that goes toward providing a quality public education to Americas students no matter their ZIP code," said Stephanie Winkler, the union chief. "Any actions that take those funds away do a disservice to students, no matter the rationale or reason given."
Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentuckys Democratic secretary of state, also objected to Grahams comment.
No, she wrote on Twitter " … what we need are raises for KY teachers and high speed internet in every classroom."
Money from the Defense Department may be especially valuable in Kentucky, a state that received among the highest shares of its revenue from the federal government in 2017, coming in 13th out of 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to data from the National Education Association.
A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell R., Ky. told the Louisville Courier Journal that a halt to the school construction project is a hypothetical, adding that acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan will determine what specific funds will be used.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth D., Ill. said that Trumps declaration of a national emergency amounts to a power grab and that taking funding away from those defense projects will ultimately hurt the country.
To take money away from [the Department of Defense] in order to build this wall that is essentially a campaign promise, I think, is really wrong priorities, Duckworth said on ABC News This Week. And I think its very harmful to the country.
