UTX Stock - is United Technologies' Stock a Good Buy - $UTX - Duration: 11:48.

Hey YouTube.

I'm Jimmy and this video I'm going to walk through

my analysis of United Technology

ticker symbol UTX.

This is the 25th video in our series

where we're analyzing all 30 stocks

in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

You can see a link in the description below for all the

other videos.

Then we're going to take that analysis.

We're going to build three different portfolios

a value a dividend

and a growth portfolio.

OK so United Technologies a really interesting

company. And this is a really interesting time

to be researching UTX's

stock. Why.

Well UTX is about

to break up into three different companies.

So let's walk through the basics of the companies

as far as the breakup goes

and then we'll see if we should add UTX's

stock to any of our portfolios.

So the first of the three companies will keep the United

Technology name the new United Technology

will have the Collins aerospace business

and the Pratt

and Whitney business within it.

This will make United Technologies one

of the leading suppliers to the commercial

aerospace

and the defense industries.

The Pratt and Whitney segment makes

aircraft engines for commercial airplanes

and military planes

and they also offer some maintenance services.

Now they make a ton of different engines for planes

of all sizes commercial planes

fighter planes helicopters

and the list goes on

and on. And as of the end of

2018 this division has a

huge backlog of orders.

OK. Then there's the Collins aerospace

division that will be part of the new

United Technologies.

So UTX finalized

their acquisition of RockWell Collins

back in November of 2018.

In fact that was the same day that they

announced the breakup.

So basically Rockwell Collins provides technology

that goes into airplanes everything

from flight controls to heating

systems to lighting

and so on.

If it's technology that goes into an airplane

they probably make it.

So clearly we can see why

Rockwell Collins

and Pratt and Whitney end up together.

This seems like a good combo as far

as when they are in their own independent

business.

OK. Next up for UTX

is the Otis business

Otis is the largest manufacturer of escalators

and elevators in the world.

So Otis designs sells

installs

and services passenger

and freight elevators.

They have almost 13 billion dollars in revenue

back in 2018

but will come back to the numbers when we try to

come up with a fair value for the business.

Then the final company is carrier.

So Carrier does heating air conditioning

refrigeration Fire Security

building automation things like that.

They do it for commercial properties.

Government properties infrastructure projects

and some residential properties.

Now this business is largely

driven by the economy.

And as you can imagine if the economy

slows then building will likely

slow and this business will get hurt

and even the Otis company is largely driven

by the economy.

So they're likely to be slightly slower growth

companies.

OK. So now we know the basics of each segment

and we know that United Technologies going

to break up.

Is this a good thing

and should we buy it now.

Well based on my research it seems to be

a good thing for UTX stock.

So generally big conglomerates

like United Technologies trade at discount

to their true value.

In fact they call it a conglomerate discount.

The theory behind a conglomerate discount

is that in this case United Technologies

can't be as effective in many different

business lines as it could be if it just focused

on one.

It's sort of like saying that they'd be the jack

of all trades but the master of none.

Now many of us know that

one theory is that the larger

company gets well the more economies

of scale they get the better their pricing

when they go to their customers

or their consumers go to their suppliers.

But for some reason the

stock market doesn't typically

price conglomerates

in that way.

Usually there's a conglomerate discount.

So breaking up a company

could add value for the shareholders.

So what does this mean for UTX stock.

Well in theory Break it up in the

individual parts could be worth more

than the whole company is right now.

So let's see if we think this is true.

Now I think that we should focus on

how each of the companies will be positioned

once they spin off.

So all indications are that the new

UTX which is essentially

a pure play aerospace supplier

well it should be poised for fantastic

growth.

They're talking low double digit growth

with great margins.

So I would expect them to be an industry leader

when they're on their own

and Otis is expected to be an industry

leader in their business.

And they the rumors are that they're going

to have a decent amount of cash which will help

them make some acquisitions

and grow that business.

Now like I mentioned before this

business is likely to be

a lower growth business relative

to the new UTX

and the same is true for the carrier company.

So the carrier company is in a highly

segmented business.

So if they end up with a decent on cash

they could also use acquisitions to fuel their

growth.

Okay. So now how do we value the business.

Well the ideal way is to try to.

To use the sum of the parts valuation

method. This is ideal because

they're going to breaking the company up.

Typically we would only use a sum

of the parts technique if we

think that a breakup is going to happen

or if perhaps you were analyzing the company for

takeover

and hypothetically we thought that we needed to

value each segment to see I would add to

our business.

Either way let's see what we come up

with as far as what their current value is.

So I was curious what the market thought of the break upon

was first announced.

So this is a chart of UTX's

stock going back one year

and right around here is when they announced the breakup.

So we can see that

the stock began to fall.

And one of the reasons I think it fell

so much early on is that there

wasn't a ton of information out there

as to how they were going to break it

up. You know what.

Different segments were

but there were concerns about where the free cash

flow would go. Who would get the debt.

Who would get the cash.

There were some question marks.

Now don't forget the acquisition

of Rockland Collins was announced right at

the same time.

And then we see the stock begin to bounce back.

Perhaps people were able to start sorting

out what would happen

with the future the business would look like for

each of the divisions

and then it looked like good value at

110 or even 105.

So now this brings us to valuing UTX

stock using our sum of the parts

technique so to effectively

do this we essentially need to value

what each segment is going to be worth.

So it seems that enterprise value

to our earnings before interest taxes depreciation

amortization

or EBITDA is the best valuation

technique to use mostly because

UTX gives us EBITDA for

each of the businesses.

So we can use that project out

a year and find some competitors for

each division to see what multiple

we want to use.

Okay. So for Otis

there are four main elevator providers.

Now the tricky part is that each of these are based

all over the world which is a good

thing because most of Otis his business

is international.

But we have to convert those

to what would be fair for our EBITDA numbers.

Now it seems that if we use 14x

based on 2019

EBITDA that would be reasonable.

Okay. So we we can add these up in a moment

for now was just jumped the carrier

with carrier.

Well they're a bit more of a segmented industry

compared to Otis

but from what I can find

it seems at 14x is also

a fair multiple to use for this business.

Now these two numbers being

similar to each other doesn't really surprise

me since they're both vulnerable

to the same macroeconomic environments.

So I'm okay

with using a 14x for both of these

businesses.

Well then we come to the new UTX

which is their aerospace business.

Well this business is growing at a much faster rate

and with the acquisition of Rockland Collins

Well this really helps round out the

offerings of the company for UTX

it seems that a fair

multiple to use on 2019

EBITDA projections is about 17x.

Now I actually struggled a bit

with which multiple I should use.

So what I did.

And if you're ever not sure what multiples to use perhaps

this would work for you as well.

Well what I did is I found two analyst reports

that were projecting the breakup

and that one of them used a 14x

multiple. And then the other one used a 15x

multiple

but they were doing it on 2020

estimates.

So using 2020 actually

makes a lot of sense because this

breakup isn't supposed to officially

happen until 2020.

So I get why they would use 2020 numbers.

The reason I liked to use 2019

is that frankly 2019 numbers

are bit easier to predict.

The further we go out the tougher the prediction.

So if we do it our way

well we get better in theory we get better projections

but we sacrifice the reality

that the business won't yet be broken up.

Now the at the end of the day I'm not sure

it matters which one we use

and here's why.

So we're using 17x on 2019

numbers but they're using 14x

on 2020 numbers

but 2020 EBITDA is

going to be higher since we're going to two years to

grow it. So therefore they use a smaller

multiple.

Now this is what our numbers end up looking like.

So Otis looks like it could have an enterprise value

of almost 28 billion dollars

and that's simply the

1.992 Billion times

14 carrier comes

in at about forty four

and a half billion

and UTX comes in it up

a bit over one hundred billion dollars.

Now this gives us total

enterprise value of a bit over

one hundred and seventy five billion.

So if we were to compare this

and throw up the 2020 numbers

from analysts Well it looks

like that their enterprise value would

be about one hundred eighty five billion dollars

because they had higher EBITDA

but lower multiples.

So if we're ever going to compare

you ever we're going to look at analyst estimates

and analyst multiples we'll

make sure we pay attention to what year they're using

because that's important.

The further out you go the lower the multiple

has to get.

Now this formula isn't done just yet.

Right now we have enterprise value

but what we need to do is we need to find out what the stock

is worth so let's delete this one

and switch back to our 2019

projections.

Now the next thing we have to do is we have to

subtract debt

and this actually points out one of the reasons

why it's good to use enterprise value

to EBITDA because we don't know

where this debt is going to go which

is which business is going to end up

with the debt or how much of it is they don't end

up with whoever ends up

with it or part of it

or all of it. Well that's going to hurt

their profitability.

They'll make something like P/E very difficult

to predict at this point.

So doing our valuation like this

we can group it all together

and then subtract out at the end

then what we need to do is be to add back

cash. So when we do

all this math we could see that the

value of the equity turns out

to be about one hundred thirty six billion dollars.

Divide that by the number of shares outstanding

and we end up the fair value of the stock of

about one hundred fifty nine dollars.

Now since UTX is currently

trading at about one hundred twenty eight dollars

per share it seems that

there is some upside here based on

our calculations.

Now one risk to consider here is

that this breakup isn't going

to happen for more than

a year from now

and anytime we have

that huge lag between

when we would be investing versus when

the event we think that will create the value

is the longer that is the more

dangerous that becomes.

Because anything could happen we could have good

news we get a bad news we could have all sorts

of things come up that could disrupt

the way our calculations are currently working.

But what do you think based

on what's happening

with the company

and based on the types of portfolios we're trying

to build.

Where do you think you taxes stock falls

in our portfolios if any of them.

I think I can make a case for the value portfolio.

They also have a dividend although

I'm not sure how stable that dividend is

going to be when the breakup happens

or it gets closer I'm not sure how that's going to play out.

So think the dividend portfolio would be good for

us right now.

But my question for you is

do you think we should add UTX's stock

to any of our portfolios.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

And thank you for sticking

with me all the way to the end of the video

if you haven't done so already hit the subscribe

Unfortunately we are not with the drivers 24/7 and we rely on the drivers better judgement and that the driver does the right thing and respect a customers privacy they wrote.

The company then detailed how Natasha could use the companys app to order a taxi in the future as they often use email addresses to contact the driver instead of using a phone number.

You Are Unique, Your Story is Not - Duration: 1:01.

So the senior pastor at my church, Andy Stanley, did a sermon about a month ago

about the fact that you as an individual are unique. You are.

You are a unique person. However, your story is not unique.

There is someone else out there that has gone through a similar issue, had the same drama, same conflict.

Whatever the case may be. That's why psychiatrists are so smart. They've seen the same issues

come in during their therapy sessions over and over again, and they know how to deal with them.

So companies, like people, are unique. Unique founders, unique missions, unique values.

However, their stories are more than likely not unique.

Meaning that someone you know, someone within your network has probably gone through a similar issue that you might be having.

Personnel issue, rapid growth, running out of office space. Whatever the case may be. So get out there and network.

Ask the question, and I'm sure you can find someone that has gone through a

similar issue that you might be having within your business.

This is why kid trappers make more money than the kid who is staying in their lane! - Duration: 4:16.

Hey guys,

Juan Mazo with you here today and today I'm going to be covering.

This is why kid trappers have a better shot at success than the kids who just

stay in their lane.

And what do I mean by that?

So growing up,

I was super disadvantaged,

right?

And this is actually one of the main reasons why kid trappers or hustlers.

You know,

anyone who does it sell drugs,

right?

This is why they can get ahead and it's because they know how to raise their own

money.

Like me personally,

I was very disadvantaged growing up,

didn't have a ton of money.

My family didn't have all the resources in the world,

but it did teach me that I can be resourceful myself.

So I learned that certain people had a need and I can deliver that need.

Now.

Most kids for their first sales,

especially if their kids is probably a candy bar behind the teacher's back.

Right?

But for me it was actually pictures that I would print off the internet.

So I was growing up when computers were still white and gray and yellow and you

can,

you know,

they weren't very super affordable,

so I was working with a buddy of mine and he would print the pictures out of an

anime and we would go ahead and sell these pictures to a kid in our neighborhood

for five,

10,

15,

20 bucks a pop.

This was super lucrative considering it was middle school.

Again,

it was.

We found something that someone needed and we sold it to them.

The reason that works is because we were a little bit more bold,

right?

kid trappers are a little bit more bold and when it comes to things they see,

they need money than they're willing to take opportunities.

Some kids would say,

oh,

that's like,

you know,

they can just get it for free.

Why not show them the kid wasn't really interested in it.

So we took a shot and said,

hey,

you want to buy these from us?

And he's like,

yeah,

how buy them from you.

That's pretty bold,

right?

Like imagine the kid that is selling candy bars at a Walmart parking lot,

walking up to you and is like,

Hey,

can you buy a candy bar?

For me,

that's pretty bold.

Most people are afraid to just ask for directions to a starbucks.

So yeah,

they,

they learn certain things growing up that helps them be a little bit more

forward and have a better shot at success.

Now,

the last reason that makes kid trappers a little bit better positioned to

succeed is that they have street smarts and street smarts is knowing when to

hold them and knowing when to fold.

Right?

Reality is,

it's more about like being personable in my opinion,

like understanding the situation,

understanding if you're being played or not.

And this translates so well into like,

you know,

adult life,

whether it's,

you know,

you're trying to buy a car and dealing with a sales card guy,

no offense guys,

you know,

you have to know how to negotiate.

You got to know value.

You need to understand being bold in general.

All these things that that combined,

that most kids who stay in their lanes never have to deal with output a really

street smart,

witty person.

Like if you look at someone like my personal favorite mentors,

like Gary v,

he's all about hustling.

He's all about going out and finding your money,

right?

Like who has your money?

He says,

be bold.

He tells you go to garage sales,

like buying something like negotiated down to a penny and like most people come

in and they're like,

how?

How much is this pen?

They're like,

it's a buck.

Okay,

here's a dollar,

like no fifty cents,

twenty five cents,

boldness.

Right?

And then at the same time you can understand that the other person's getting

offended if they're,

you know,

not having it,

they're about to kick you out.

And that's the street smarts.

Being Witty,

being available,

like self-aware.

These are things that most kids just don't have the opportunity to fully learn

and develop growing up and in my opinion,

that makes them a little bit more disadvantaged.

That makes them into someone who's afraid to ask questions.

Someone who's afraid to get in trouble,

they go to school,

they get their papers in on time,

they never have interesting conversations with their teachers and you know,

maybe they're just,

they're partying and they have certain aspects,

but the kid trapper always has a dollar on his mind.

That's all I have for my video today guys.

I want to thank you for watching.

Let me know if you agree with it,

disagree.

Drop the comments in the comment box below or shoot me a message.

If you want private messages,

let me know if you guys have any questions that you'd like for me to discuss.

Um,

that's it.

And thanks for watching.

FOX TV - Bankers Investment Trust is an investor-friendly trust - Duration: 6:57.

Although its name may be off-putting to some who blame the banks for many of the economy's problems of the past decade, Bankers is an investor-friendly trust

Run by Alex Crooke of investment house Janus Henderson, the trust has 52 consecutive years of annual dividend increases under its belt and Crooke is in no mood to be the one who breaks the run

The trust, internationally invested, is very much a favourite with private investors who like its reliable income and steady investment returns

Indeed, more than 100 of them will attend the trust's annual general meeting in ten days' time at Trinity House, overlooking London's Tower of London

'It will be nice to chat with them and take their questions,' says Crooke. 'For many, our trust is a core holding because of its broad reach and, of course, the growing income

72p per share in dividends, an increase of just over six per cent on the year before

Bankers' Investment Trust: Latest price and charts An added assurance for income-orientated shareholders is that the trust has the equivalent of nearly two years of dividends tucked away in its reserves – income that can be drawn upon if the dividend environment gets tougher and companies start cutting them back

Crooke's management of the near £1 billion trust is unusual. Unlike most other managers, his role is more akin to that of a conductor, parcelling out portions of the trust's assets to the various investment desks at Janus Henderson to manage

His role, essentially, is to ensure the fund's asset allocation across world stock markets and sectors is sufficiently diverse – and to arrange borrowing if he thinks its cost will be outweighed by the expected investment returns from employing it around the globe

Crooke adds: 'As a general rule, I like to set up the portfolio so that the revenues generated by the companies the trust holds are split three ways – North America, emerging markets and finally Europe and the UK

'The managers pick the stocks and I ensure the jigsaw pieces come together and make a good fit

'Currently, the trust has exposure to nearly 200 companies with the biggest holdings being Microsoft and American Express

In terms of overall performance, the trust has comfortably outperformed the FTSE All-Share Index over most time periods

Over five years, for example, Bankers has delivered a return of 67 per cent, compared to 31 per cent from the FTSE-All Share

One additional investor-friendly feature of Bankers is that the ongoing annual charge Janus Henderson levies is a competitive 0

5 per cent, thereby ensuring little diminution of investor returns. 'It's great value for money,' says Crooke

Bankers is an ideal core holding for investors as a result of its broad exposure to stock markets, its income-friendliness and low charges

In terms of overall investment returns, it will not shout the lights out – and will experience short-term performance tribulations – but over the long term it is likely to enhance your wealth

Holden Boss Slams Reports That GM Is Looking To Sell It - Duration: 1:57.

Holden boss Dave Buttner has hit out at reports that General Motors could sell its Australian import operations

Earlier this month, a report from the Australian Financial Review asserted that GM was considering an externalization of its importing activities to Australia's largest car importer and distributor, Inchcape Motors

However, Car Advice reports that, on Friday, Buttner told the audience at the company's national conference in Melbourne that there are no plans to change distribution

"I'm looking directly at you.Believe me, it's not going to happen. There is no plan (to change distribution)

I did not join the company to close Holden." "Dave gave a very strong denial about the reports about Inchcape and you know what? I believe him

I think it is scuttlebutt. He stood there and looked us all in the eye and said it wasn't happening

" Carscoops contacted GM about the Inchcape reports last week and were simply told that the automaker "is focused on supporting Dave in building a strong Holden for the future, as it remains an important part of GM's business

" Holden has been facing an uphill battle in Australia ever since local production ended

The company now solely imports vehicles built overseas, including the latest-generation Commodore that is also sold elsewhere as the Buick LaCrosse and Opel Insignia

Consequently, we weren't overly surprised when we heard reports that General Motors was reportedly willing to turn its back on Holden

Black History Month Facts for Kids: Who is Benjamin Banneker? Top 10 Fun Facts for Students - Duration: 3:31.

Considered one of the first African American scientist recognized in US history, stay tuned

for more as we take a road trip through the life of Benjamin Banneker celebrating Black

History.

Benjamin Banneker is known in history as a mathematician, astronomer, compiler of almanacs

and writer born on November 9, 1731, in Ellicott's Mills, Maryland.

Getting this road trip started in 1753 Benjamin Banneker used his creativity and talents for

building things to make a clock out of wood.

Only seeing two other major timepieces in his life he made the clock creating his own

designs and calculations.

The clock would go on to run 40 years until it was destroyed in a fire.

In 1759, Banneker's father passed away.

After the death of his father, Banneker would stay on the farm to help his mother and sisters

run their family farm.

In 1771, Banneker met friends that would help him look into the Stars.

That is where he became close friends with the Ellicott Brothers who loaned him books

and tools to look into space where he would study stars learning astronomy and advanced

mathematics.

In 1775, Banneker is mother passed away.

She would leave Banneker the family farm and he would stay there using a part of the farm

to build a space for him to work and continue studying the Stars.

In 1788, Banneker came close to predicting a solar eclipse.

Although Banneker was a little off with his prediction he later found that the books he

had borrowed from the Ellicott Brothers were resources that made him off and he improved

his studying from there.

Continuing on down the timeline in February of 1791 Banneker was hired to help with surveying

land along the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.

An interesting thing about this time was the architect who worked with them was let go

from the project and if it weren't for Banneker memorizing prior designs for mapping, the

government would have lost a ton of money.

After leaving the surveying team in 1792, Banneker would go on to publish the first

of many of his almanacs.

His almanacs were released over a six-year from 1792 through 1797.

With his almanacs, he would not only use them to publish his works of celestial bodies but

also talk about other things too.

For example, in 1793, he published a letter between himself and Thomas Jefferson where

he told Thomas Jefferson.

The life of Benjamin Banneker came to an end on October 9, 1806, and he will forever be

remembered as a pioneer in the world of Black History.

Alright, my friend, I hope you enjoyed hanging with me as we went on a road trip through

the timeline of the life of Benjamin Banneker.

If there are interesting facts you may know about his life; feel free to join us in the

Is the Recession Here? - Duration: 0:55.

You know, as I read headlines now and I look in the paper I keep seeing the

age-old question. Is the recession here? Is it coming? Is this the sign the

recession is on its way? And I just kind of laugh to myself because you know what?

A recession is coming. They historically come after an expansion. We don't know when.

We don't know how. But one will come. So what does that mean? I mean, to me I

kind of look at it this way- did you know that the average recession only lasts

for ten months? The average recession only lasts for ten months.

And in fact, the Great Recession only lasted for 18 months. And then we had a historically

long expansion after the correction in the recession. So I'm going to choose to

see it as an opportunity. I'm going to try to keep it in perspective and know

that historically they don't last that long. And expansions lasts a lot longer

than the recessions do.

Is organic food much safer than conventional food? | WURcast - Duration: 1:27.

Welcome to the new myth of the week.

This morning I went to the market to ask the farmers if they have organic food.

I think that organic is safer than conventional food.

But they also confirm it, but I would like to know what the experts have to say about it.

[Jochem] In organic farming use of synthetic pesticides is not allowed and food from organic farming generally contains indeed lower levels of pesticides than food from regular farming.

This does not mean that levels of pesticides in crops produced by regular farming are harmful, they are strictly regulated so that their use does not pose a threat to human health.

[Jonathan] Hmmm... so this confirms to some extent what the farmers told me.

[Martine] But do you also consider the probability that harmful bacteria might be in food?

In organic agriculture a lot of manure is used, that is animal dung, it is used as fertilizer.

This increases the probability that harmfull microorganisms will be on your vegetables.

[Jonathan] Hmmm... I think that there are already diverse opinions.

What about you, do you think that organic food is safer than conventional food?
