Waching daily May 2 2018

(dramatic music)

- Kiting does feel like flying

because sometimes we actually do leave the ground

and actually fly through the air.

The feeling when you're riding behind a snowkite

is unlike any other feeling in the world.

Just total freedom,

it's a combination of feeling like you're flying

or gliding across the ground with no resistance,

no effort and just a ton of wind in your face.

My name is Tom Fredericks, and I'm a snowkiter.

Snowkiting is basically getting pulled

on the snow with a giant kite.

To be able to snowkite, you need a big 4-line kite,

a waist harness that you hook into in your skis.

Twelve years ago, I moved to Alaska

to establish the first kiteboarding and snowkiting school.

I fell in love with the mountains and the open air.

Thompson Pass is one of the best snowkiting venues

in the United States, if not the world.

Just because of the plentiful snow, the wide open terrain

and the steep mountains.

It makes it truly a world class venue.

Alaska Kite Adventures puts on

the Snowkite Festival every year.

We have about 30 to 45 snowkiters come out to compete.

At the Snowkite Festival, we offer clinics,

races and competitions,

and also a community forum for us to exchange ideas

and teach the public about snowkiting.

I think snowkiting is so unique as a sport

because it's been overlooked for so many years.

It has a small group of passionate followers.

The snowkite community for me is so important

because it is a legacy that I helped start.

And to go from seeing like two or three people

when I first moved up here 12 years ago,

to about 200 people snowkiting in Alaska,

that's super important.

(cheers)

Generating Trade in East Africa is Win-Win for US and Africa - Duration: 3:46.

Hi I'm Miriam, what I love most about this cup of coffee is that it's from

East Africa, where I grew up and where my parents are still coffee farmers.

East Africa is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, from small

farmers to delivery truck drivers and grocery store owners, people rely on

local and regional trade to do business. And for goods of any kind to reach you

halfway around the world, like the beans that made this coffee, the regional

systems of trade need to work well. In a region half the size of the United

States, over 27 million people go to bed hungry and 46 million live in poverty.

This is partly because the region's systems for trade and food security are

still developing and need improvement. With the assistance of the U.S. Agency for

International Development, USAID, local and regional partners are creating

solutions and the region is improving every day.

At the farm level, programs work to improve farming practices

like better seeds and planting techniques to grow more food.

USAID also helps farmers to respond to devastating threats like pests and drought, that destroy crops.

But natural threats aren't the only challenges East Africa faces.

40% of a product's price comes from high

transportation costs, making it hard to do business and even harder for people

living in poverty to make ends meet. That's why USAID is working with local

governments to reduce trade barriers, making the movement of goods at borders

and ports easier, faster, and cheaper.

And it's working!

In recent years, the cost of importing or exporting a shipping container in the

region has been cut in half, and almost all goods entering East Africa clear

customs just once.

As a result USAID helps get nutritious food

to people and communities who need it most, by improving the movement of

staple foods and seeds across borders, and ensuring food is inspected and safe

before it reaches customers.

USAID programs in the region target areas to

boost economic opportunity, increase food security, and connect East Africa with

global markets and businesses.

As doing business improves, USAID helps to

attract more investment to the region

and increase access to capital for local entrepreneurs.

By the way, it's not just East Africans that benefit from these

improved regional systems.

Since 2011, US businesses have exported 37 billion dollars

worth of goods to East Africa,

which support nearly 13,000 American jobs every year.

As the region becomes more self-sufficient and regional

stability increases, USAID's programs are reducing the need for more aid in the future.

So you see, when I look at this cup of coffee, I love it because I see

all the hard work that goes into it, from East Africa to America, and I see all the

opportunities brewing between our nations, thanks to the American people.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding Carriage Is Straight Out of a Fairy Tale - Duration: 2:41.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding Carriage Is Straight Out of a Fairy Tale

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be riding in style after they say I do. Kensington Palace announced on Wednesday that the future bride and groom have chosen the Ascot Landau carriage for their post-wedding procession.

According to a press release issued by the Palace, horses will draw the couple along High Street and through Windsor Town, returning them to Windsor Castle along the Long Walk.

The Crown Equerry, Col. Toby Browne described the Ascot Landau as a wonderfully bright, small, lovely carriage that is very easy for people to see.. The passengers can sit up quite high, he added. So theres lots of visibility for everybody..

The newlyweds will make their journey with a traveling Escort of the Household Mounted Regiment starting at 1:00 p. Prince Harry and Ms.

Markle are very much looking forward to this short journey which they hope will allow them to express their gratitude for everyone who has gathered together in Windsor to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day, Kensington Palace stated in the press release.

This wont be Harrys first time riding in one of the five Ascot Landaus carriages, which is kept by the Royal Mews.

He also rode in one in 2011 when he served as best man in Prince William and Kate Middletons wedding. So, maybe William will ride in a similar carriage now that hes Harrys best man.

We can only hope he rides with his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who served in their aunt Pippa Middletons wedding. Although, newborn Prince Louis is likely too little to join.

The carriages arent just used for royal weddings. Theyve also been used to transport new Commonwealth High Commissioners when Queen Elizabeth II received them for an audience at Buckingham Palace.

She also uses them every year for her procession during the the Royal Meeting at Ascot. Windsor Grey horses will pull the carriage. These noble steeds have drawn carriages for members of the royal family ever since the reign of Queen Victoria.

The horses include the outriders, Plymouth and Londonderry, as well as the four horses pulling the carriage, Milford Haven, Sir Basil, Tyrone and Storm.

Of course, rain is a concern for any bride-to-be. So, Kensington Palace has a backup option should the topless carriage not suffice.

In the event of rain, the bride and groom will travel in the Scottish State Coach—a time-honored mode of transportation that was built in 1830 for the Duchess of Teck, mother of Queen Mary. Royal CarriageVICTORIA JONES/AFP/Getty Images.

The coach features large glass windows, two transparent panels on the roof and the royal arms of Scotland. It also features the Order of the Thistle. The wedding will take place at St. Georges Chapel at Windsor Castle May 19.

What is Overtraining? (Is Overtraining Even Real?) - Duration: 6:21.

Let's talk about overtraining.

In clinical and practical research, the definition of overtraining is quite convoluted.

In fact, there is no literary consensus on the exact definition of overtraining.

Neither is there for its underlying causes and symptoms, with some experts debating whether

it even exists at all.

But research data shows overtraining at least does exist, especially in the realm of competitive

sports.

Data shows anywhere between seven to thirty one percent of athletes experience overtraining

on a yearly basis.

It is important, though, to distinguish overtraining to overreaching.

Unlike overtraining, overreaching is actually desired.

At the beginning of a training program, you'll experience a consistent performance and training

capacity improvement over time.

Eventually, performance capacity stagnates and then decrease, aka you start to functionally

overreach.

This is desired because once you begin taking recovery measures from overreaching, which

takes roughly 1 to 2 weeks to fully recover, your body not only reverses the performance

drop, but you actually end up improving well beyond past previous capacities.

This is known as supercompensation.

When you DO NOT rest and instead train through it, performance continues to wane.

Around 4 weeks of training past degradation, a few weeks of recovery is no longer enough

and supercompensation cease to exist.

This is the point where the literature agrees on defining the phase of overtraining.

Much of the literature also classifies overtraining as a syndrome, underlying the causes and symptoms

of overtraining are multifactorial in nature and is not solely just changes in training

and performance.

In terms of symptoms, along with impaired performance, an overtrained individual experience

a varying combinations of sleep disturbances, mood disturbances, fatigue, heavy sweating,

upper respiratory tract infections, and loss of appetite.

The commonality of these symptoms can make it tricky to actually diagnose overtraining.

I feel that this survey from the 2012 paper by Meeusen and colleagues provides a good

starting point in detecting overtraining for yourself since it touches on training duration,

factors commonly overlooked, and more.

Check it out in the link the in the description.

Again, causes vary as well.

Mental stress can be a cause, where athletes suffer disproportionately due to their chase

for perfection and competitive nature.

Poor workout programming, where the program far exceeds the individual's fitness level.

Lack of quality sleep, which will affect all daily functions, especially physical activity.

And poor nutrition, where low protein intake can hinder recovery, low carb intake fails

to replenish glycogen stores, and not enough water leads to dehydration.

Chronic calorie deficits are also problematic due to overall lack of nutrition and energy.

As far as the training itself, research suggest that training VOLUME is the bigger culprit

than training intensity.

In several studies comparing the two factors at training levels above norm, sickness and

lowered immune cell count were strongly correlated to increased volume loads.

Do note that intensity can still cause overtraining as well.

But the magnitude of effect of each cause on the propensity to overtrain seems to vary

from person to person.

Something like mental stress might contribute heavily to overtraining vulnerability in one

person, while another person suffers mightily when lacking sleep.

And finally, what about dealing with overtraining?

The best way to deal with overtraining is to… prevent it from happening at all.

Regular rest is critical.

In a joint consensus statement between the European College of Sport Science and the

American College of Sports Medicine, they recommend at least one rest day per week.

Personally, I think taking at least two would be more fitting, especially for beginners

that require more time adapting to soreness and the change in lifestyle.

Dealing with mental stress is imperative, and using self-assessment mood logs, mind-body

therapies and building a strong social support system can be extremely beneficial.

If you want more details on dealing with mental stress, feel free to check out my video on

this very topic.

Sleep is definitely a big one.

Best case scenario is to get 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep.

This will be a balancing act though, since one of the symptoms of overtraining and overreaching

is a dip in sleep quality.

Again, got some videos on that as well if you want to check it out.

And, of course, there is deloading, where you dial back your workout intensity, volume,

or both to allow sufficient recovery.

Again times two, come check out my video on deloading if you want more info.

In the case where you do have the unfortunate experience of becoming overtrained, then the

best treatment is rest and very light exercise.

Bear in mind that it can take months or even years before things get better, but the key

is to not make it any worse and then prevent it from happening again.

Ultimately, a holistic recovery approach is best and something to consider at all times

for not just overtraining, but your entire well-being.

Personally, I think overtraining isn't too big of a deal if you're just the typical

gym-goer wanting to build some muscle, lose fat, and get a bit stronger.

The research heavily relies on athletes to show overtraining prevalence, especially endurance

and track athletes spending huge portions of their days training with high volume.

That's not to say something like lifting weights is less taxing, but at the very least,

there's more time for you to recover when you're only lifting five to 8 hours a week

versus a competitive athlete's 5 to 8 hours a day.

As long as you're intuitive with your approach to training, then I'm willing to wager and

say that overtraining is almost… a non-factor.

Overreaching, on the other hand, is a whole 'notha story.

But that's a topic for whole 'notha day.

I want to thank the amazing people at sci-fit.net for providing the vast majority of the information

in this video.

Sci-fit.net is one of the few websites out there that I can confidently trust in delivering

accurate and non-bias fitness and nutrition information.

I highly suggest you check out their overtraining article if you want a more in-depth breakdown

than this video and they also make a great point for the need to change the name of overtraining

to something else.

I'll link straight to the article in the description box.

well.

Princess Charlotte birthday: What is Charlotte's age now? What is her full name and title? - Duration: 4:15.

Princess Charlotte birthday: What is Charlotte's age now? What is her full name and title?

Princess Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and her full title is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Her second names are a tribute to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and her late grandmother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne and has recently made history by being the first female heir not to lose her spot to a male after the birth of her baby brother Louis on April 23.

Charlotte was born at 8.

34am on May 2 2015 at St Mary's Hospital in London - meaning today she turns three years.

In tribute to the new royal arrival, several landmarks were illuminated pink around the capital, including Tower Bridge, London Eye and the Trafalgar Square fountains.

Since then, she has captured hearts as a confident little princess with a personality all of her own.

Just nine days ago, she stole the show with an adorable little wave to the press as she arrived with her dad and brother at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital to meet her new baby brother.

She is also said to have a penchant for dancing, as her father Prince William let slip at a Commonwealth Day reception this year.

Despite being the younger sister to her brother, Prince George of Cambridge, she is said to be the one who looks after him, not the other way around, a tidbit the Queen revealed about the royal siblings.

We've also seen her having a royal tantrum, showing us she's just like any little girl as she gave her mum a hard time on a royal tour in 2017.

She is also known to have a flair for cooking, with The Duchess saying Charlotte liked "getting her hands messy in the kitchen" making pizza dough.

Princess Charlotte is expected to play a role at the royal wedding of her uncle Prince Harry to Meghan Markle on May 19, but what role that is we have yet to hear.

It won't be her first time in a starring role at a wedding: in 2017 she was a bridesmaid for her aunt Pippa Middleton, alongside older brother Prince George who was a pageboy.

She was said to be a very well behaved little bridesmaid, but did have a teary moment.

Weddings can be overwhelming!.

There seems no doubt that whatever role she plays on May 19, we can look forward to many more adorable moments from the little princess.

Happy birthday Princess Charlotte!.

Who is your central point-person? - Duration: 1:05.

My central point person is my guidance counselor currently. She is extremely

good at communicating between myself , my parents, and my school, and all my

teachers. She makes me feel welcome and available whenever I go to see her and

she makes me feel like a student, not just somebody who is injured or has a

disability. So she always makes sure that not just physically I'm okay but

emotionally as well she always asks me if I'm making friends or talking or

joining teams and clubs and she supports me towards that. So my central point

person always asked me about my symptoms and makes sure that they're decreased, and

that you know if there's anything that the teachers can do to help me lower my

symptoms that that'll make sure to be done. So it really feels like my teachers

and my school is on my team to get me through my education.

Smartphone is all you need to get started on Youtube! (or is it?) - Duration: 11:00.

is a smartphone enough to start a YouTube channel stick around I'm gonna

let you know what I found out

welcome back ladies and gentlemen i'm dan from www.Millennialmotivator.CA

helping you learn how to create engage and inspire if you're new to the channel

go ahead and click that subscribe button down there the little bell next to it

you'll get notified when my next video goes live throw up a video here monday

through saturday with the exception of last week on anything that has to do

with growing your presence online to build your business and better engage

your customers what happened last week for all of you guys that are fans of the

channel and know what's going on typically i put it out a video every day

monday through saturday every single day last week however i had to fly into the

states i had to meet with a bunch of different consultant clients that I work

with and I thought I'd be able to manage doing that work being on-site working

with those teams and shooting video editing video recording video all that

goes with that the reality is this I wanted to test whether or not a

smartphone would be enough for me to shoot video on the road while I'm doing

my business stuff and I can't do a couple different conclusions now those

of you that didn't see any videos last week know that obviously videos didn't

hit YouTube and there's a couple different reasons why and I want to

share my thoughts on this because from the start of this channel I have vouched

over and over again that all you need is a smartphone to get started on YouTube

and I want to give you guys my thoughts on this and break it down a little bit

so if you've ever considered starting a YouTube channel solely with a smartphone

stick around I'm gonna break this down for you okay point number one is gonna

wait a second I'm gonna put a disclaimer on this starting a YouTube channel with

just a smartphone is better than not starting a YouTube channel at all okay

get that out there I want to be clear on that okay now with that being said I

found after having the experience of shooting with a camera shooting with a

desktop camera having my setup here in the office I found switching to a

smartphone to have a large learning curve as any new thing does but there

are a couple key things that got me stuck that I realized

need some additional things if you're gonna make a smartphone work for you on

YouTube so the first one that I found guys and this is a big one is the audio

here in the office I've got a controlled space so a cellphone would work just

fine for controlled space like this where there's not a lot of sound I can

kind of buffer it by closing the door I can control it that way when I was out

and about though in the States cars people whatever that the smartphone mic

picks it all up and so having that level of noise was a big issue and sound is a

big deal when people are listening to a video I know myself I'm still working on

getting the audio perfected after a hundred plus videos audio is so key when

you're shooting and you are immediately off to a really tough start with a

smartphone only now that being said there are attachments you can get for a

smartphone that are a direct mic you can have bluetooth connected lapel mics I'll

put some of those down in the comments below for you guys to check out if this

is something that you're struggling with but audio was terrible for me when I was

out and about there's lots of things happening the smartphone just didn't do

the audio justice and it created some really muffled or crowded audio on the

video so that was a big sticking point for me of when I put out the videos I

like people to be able to hear me at the very least and that was really hard for

me to narrow it out now that being said a lot of people would suggest well just

filter that stuff out in the audio or in the editing process with the audio that

kind of takes me to my next point alright guys so audio was a non-issue

editing is a next editing on just a smartphone proved insanely difficult so

I came to a couple different conclusions in regards to smartphone youtubing and

one of them is this you have to be a one-take guru if you're gonna use a

smartphone okay one tech guru you get in you shoot it

that's it you don't need to segment piece alter audio in any way the

lighting was perfect you managed to shoot the perfect one shot video for

your YouTube Congrats smartphone is for you however that being said most of us

aren't going to shoot videos that way to be able to compile a single one shot

we need several different shots and most likely put b-roll in there you've got

the audio issues issues that I mentioned sometimes there's lighting issues that

you want to be able to adjust and fix and adobe clip I get what it's trying to

be I get what it's trying to do and if you absolutely have to edit with it it's

probably the best of a bunch of bad options but that being said it doesn't

really serve the purpose I highly recommend as I always have go out there

and give an actual editing software for me it's Adobe Premiere I love it and

Adobe clip just pales by comparison it doesn't give you the options it doesn't

give you the flexibility it doesn't give you the control and then actually

exporting the file it's just a huge waste of time and drain on a smart phone

where a desktop obviously does a much better job of it so the editing is a

huge part of why smartphone shooting became difficult and again please

remember that disclaimer that a smartphone video shot and edited on

Adobe clip is better than no YouTube channel whatsoever ok so the other thing

that smartphone would be great for and is now an option is going live okay

so if you have that capability you've got the data or you've got the location

with a great Wi-Fi I highly recommend why there's an option for smart phone

just because it gives you that real life feel but what I found with live was

there weren't any there were additional problems with that outside of the audio

and the lighting that we had already mentioned and that is control of the

camera okay now control of the camera for people

that I said you just need a smartphone becomes difficult because shooting like

this is obviously going to be a bit of a headache and you won't always have

somebody there to hold a camera and film you through a whole live shoot

especially since I know my lives typically B typically tend to be a half

hour to an hour long and the reality is that that's not something that you

you're gonna want to hold your arm up for the entire time so there's a couple

of different solutions for that let's get down to that so guys as far as how

you're going to set it up and control there are a couple different options you

have available to you okay one is the Joby so that

so one is the Jobi okay guys and this little guy here is a great tripod you

can set up on the go it's got a piece that goes in here you can screw it in

and just put your phone off BAM you've got a nice little tripod set up there

and you're ready to roll with it the other option that you've got available

to you is you can get a gimbal like the znq that we showcased a couple weeks

back here again I'll put links down with this stuff below guys so the CM ku

allows you to it's it's a gimbal it's a 3 axis gimbal so it allows you to move

in transition smoothly without the the video footage being all choppy ok which

icon was a major issue because I like to walk and move and talk as I shoot and I

often found myself as I was trying to shoot the first few videos I would be

moving my hand while I'm talking and it made the video this really gross seasick

kind of feeling so the Z and Q would have been a much better option to shoot

with just giving it that stability if you are a hand talker or your self

shooting so tripod is an auction guys the Z and Q is an option selfie stick if

you absolutely have to go that route could work but again it is a major

hassle and it is a major learning curve to get that feel and to get that right

so what are the takeaways that I've got by and large 4 is a smartphone all you

need in order to create a YouTube channel number one can it be done yes it

can be done what I still recommend it I would still recommend getting started

with just a smartphone over not getting started at all okay guys I highly

recommend you get started and improve as you go but if you had the choice between

a home setup or an office setup or a stationary setup or a camera setup all

of those I would personally prefer to the smartphone solo for the reasons of

poor audio control and while there are exceptions you can alter your smartphone

just a smartphone enough isn't to get there isn't enough to get there so

you're going to have to make a point to buy some additional add-ons in order to

make the smartphone work for you lighting lighting is another big one

you can't control I know here in my office I've got it set up so that

there's a window here with natural light right in front of me that allows me the

ability to speak within a well-lit environment whereas on the road that's

not really an option and the smartphone doesn't do a great job of really

controlling your lighting last but not least it's the editing process editing

on a smartphone I found to be extremely difficult there weren't a lot of great

options on it can it be done yes is it optimal know the options inside of an

actual piece of software like Adobe Premiere are far greater than what's

available on something like Adobe click so you can't really fix your audio well

you can't fix your lighting well you can't edit properly the export time

takes in an exorbitant amount of time because it's operating off of your your

smart phone and it also ties up your smart phone while you're doing that so I

just these things are major sticking points for me guys and I am gonna still

tell people that you can start a smart YouTube channel with just a smart phone

but I don't advocate for it as hard as I used to guys it's a very challenging

process with a very steep learning curve I know there are people out there that

do it and they rock it and good on them but for me as somebody who was fairly

new to YouTube at the start of the year coming into this channel trying this for

the first time my verdict on it is it's very difficult has a very high learning

curve it's better than nothing but there are a lot of other better

options out there question of the day is let me know what you think down below if

you shot youtube video with just your smartphone do you think that these are

reasonable conclusions that I've come to you let me know what you think down in

the comments below and I will catch you tomorrow with another great video see

you then

Who is Synchrony Bank? a.k.a. SYNCB - Duration: 6:38.

Hey I'm Adam Jusko from ProudMoney.com and in this video I'm gonna answer

the question "who is Synchrony Bank?" or you may have seen on your credit report

or somewhere else the letters SYNCB which also is Synchrony Bank. So

we're gonna answer that question but before we do I would ask you to please

subscribe to our YouTube channel if you've not already and if you have

already I thank you for doing so. So, Synchrony Bank is the bank that

issues many popular retail store credit cards including Walmart, The Gap, Old Navy,

Banana Republic, Lowe's, the PayPal credit cards, TJ Maxx, Dick's Sporting

Goods. And it also is the issuer behind the Care Credit financing, so if you ever

had financing from maybe your dentist for something with

your teeth or you've had LASIK or other eye procedures or sometimes

veterinarians use it for procedures that have to be done to your

pet --- if you've had that kind of financing that also could be from Synchrony Bank.

So if you were trying to figure out "when have I ever dealt with Synchrony Bank?

I've never heard of them." --- any of these credit cards or that Care Credit

financing could be, you know, who Synchrony Bank is in your life. And

in terms of how you have dealt with them, a lot of times the first time

people see that name, they don't even realize that somebody else is either

issuing their credit card or is issuing financing of some type. So

Synchrony Bank is the bank behind many of these things. Now Synchrony Bank also

does offer some regular banking services, only online, that includes things like

CDs, high-yield savings accounts, not a ton of stuff but they are one

of the competitors in particular in the high-yield savings account area online ---

an online only bank, you can't go to Synchrony Bank and deal with them in

that way. But for the most part Synchrony Bank is known as being that issuer

behind the credit cards and other types of financing. So just a little history

here -- Synchrony Bank used to be part of General Electric, they used to

actually be known as GE Capital Retail Bank. GE Capital was sort of

the larger financing arm of General Electric, did a lot of different things,

but essentially GE Capital Retail Bank did the exact same thing that Synchrony

Bank does now --- it issued credit cards and other types of financing on behalf of

other companies versus offering its own. GE did offer its own credit cards for a

little while, back in the long past, but for the most part they were always

backing somebody else up. At some point, GE decided to essentially get out of the

business of issuing credit cards on behalf of others partially

because, although it was very profitable, it also carried a certain amount of risk

and, in terms of its stock price, GE was sort of worried that having this risk on

the books and essentially also having like a million different

businesses that it was in, was maybe hurting its stock price. So what GE did

was it spun out GE Capital Retail Bank, renamed it as Synchrony Bank, and that is

where we are today. Just on a side note: GE has really done terrible ever since

they got rid of Synchrony Bank. Not necessarily because they did but if

their thought was "we're gonna get rid of this and some other things and our stock

price is gonna do better" -- it didn't work. So the bottom line here is Synchrony

Bank obviously is a very big bank, they've got the history with GE, they

obviously have very big customers in terms of Walmart and all these other

ones that I just talked about before. So if you're kind of worried about who they

are or you think they're some fly-by-night operation, they are not. They

are a major credit card issuer, major financer, but they generally do

it on what they call the "private label" way of handling it. They're doing it for

others but they handle all the customer service, they handle all the money.

When you're dealing with Walmart or the Gap or whoever it is, once you have

their credit card, you can use it at those stores but those companies are not

really dealing with the credit card or dealing with you with that credit card ---

you're going to be dealing with Synchrony Bank when you deal with one of

those credit cards. Now one thing I do want to say about Synchrony Bank is

oftentimes Synchrony Bank has terrible interest rates on their credit cards.

You're looking at oftentimes interest rates that are over

20%, oftentimes over 25%, so this is not a company that you'd necessarily want to

deal with if you are somebody that makes a habit of carrying a balance on your

credit cards. One other thing that is sort of something that I don't like

about Synchrony Bank, something I don't like in general in the financing world,

is Synchrony Bank is big on 0% offers that have the potential to be what they

call "deferred interest." And what that mean is, you make a large

purchase at one of the companies that they issue the credit

card for, they give you zero percent financing as long as

you pay your bill off in six months or 12 months or whatever it

is. But what happens is, in the fine print it says, "if you don't pay off the

complete balance within that promotional period, then you will be charged interest

on the complete purchase from the date of purchase. So what that essentially

means is, if you go even... if you get even one day past that 12-month

promotional period and you've got five dollars left on there that you didn't

pay off, all of a sudden you're gonna get charged all the interest on the complete

purchase from the day you made that purchase. So it's sort of a sneaky little

thing. I mean obviously that makes sense, if they gave you that offer and

you took it, then they have that ability to do that, but it's kind of

hidden in the fine print and that's something that we don't really

like. In fact Walmart actually changed how their credit card works so that that

was not something that people could do anymore --- they would no longer offer that

kind of financing, probably because that made people upset when they found out

about it. So anyway if you see SYNCB on your credit report or you've

suddenly found out that you are a customer of Synchrony Bank and you can't

figure out how that possibly could have happened,

you obviously have Synchrony Bank as either a credit card issuer for another

store that you have a credit card with or maybe some other type of financing

that Synchrony Bank is the backer for. So that's it. Thanks for watching. Please go
