STUDIO ONE 4 - HOW TO SETUP IMPACT XT FOR FAST PRODUCTION - Duration: 13:06.
what's up everybody I am BK BKbangers.com welcome to another video today's
video I want to go over how to set up your impact XT in the new studio one
point for studio one fall so impact XT we all know that they are
they upgraded sample 1 and impact so now um impact is a little bit better than it
was before as well as sample 1 what I've realized that the velocity is something
going on with the velocity setting this is the early stages of volume 4 so I
guess they're still you know checking the bugs so I have a couple of instances
of of this impact setup and I have the MPC live as a MIDI controller so I'm
able to go through impact using the MPC I did a video a couple days back showing
how to setup the Akai MPC as a MIDI controller so if you have not seen that
be sure to go back and check that out if you want to know in further details on
how to get your MPC to operate as a MIDI controller in the studio one for that
point so what we have here we have on pad one
it's a few different
cakes basically I drag and drop the folder I'm gonna show you that shortly
and I can pretty much cycle through what cake is that I wanna play now for
whatever reason I'm on the wrong pad for whatever reason I'm not sure why doing
this currently Oh layer mode I've just seen it
see so I get depending on how I tap the pad currently it plays my velocity
that's the layer mode me now we have multiple um multiple kicks in this so I
could change it from velocity to round-robin then I could change it to
random
this step that's crazy that's like all the kicks that's in the folder stacked
up all on itself so I guess we'll keep it on velocity for right now but still
where our motifs in is that it actually plays more than one cake at a time you
can also reverse the uh you can reverse it well it's not reversing I'm not sure
what's going on here they said to choke itself which is good
what I wanna see what's going on so right here where says Pat okis is where
you would if you wanted to stay on the pad it will just stay on the pad but if
you wanted to move when you change pads
you put it on Pat focus what I'm trying to figure out though is actually I
wanted to stay on one cable one snare rather than it be several so okay you
guys I can do it as well I want to figure out how to make it stay on one
cake cause it's cycling through several cakes
anyway it has a filter you could filter it out all right you could change the
pitch
filter the velocity alright so what I'm realizing right cuz though the MTC is
pads are velocity sensitive so if you put it on full it'll stay at 1k so if
you put the MPC on full level it'll say that one cake but I'm sure that's not
the reason why it's doing that I gotta figures I gotta figure that out
so all notes I don't know what that is alright so after you you do all that I'm
gonna show you how to uh how to set one up in that way you drag in on impact
you'd go into files or wherever you have your um your drums located at you go
there
this is MSX audio low five low fly drums three so pretty much as you can see
there's several ticks in this folder which will do is instead of opening and
drop in individual cakes you just highlight drag and drop and now all
those cakes are on that one
or on that one pad you can change the color to whatever color you wish
snares change the color I remember what's in the bonus folder
will just rock that anyway so once you once you drag them in you color on you
come up here to this little paper leaf folder thing or restore presets you name
it accordingly
you could give it a description

you could also give it a subfolder but I'm not gonna doll that you store it
boom so every time anytime you open um
anytime you open it you can come here to the ones that you name the one that I
just named is low fly drum so this is it right here
and then it also comes with a bunch of different presets itself like it comes
with a ton of different drums already set for you so if you don't have any
drums it already has some for you so once you set that up you're good to go
your MPC is set up in in MIDI control mode you're then able to just go through
it you also can can use your MIDI
controller to do the same thing right if you know if you have a MIDI controller
you could use your MIDI controller as well you're not limited to just using
your MPC I want to you know use the pad so that's the reason why I took it the
extra step to set it up that way um one last thing I want to share with you guys
because I forgot to do it in a video that I uploaded I think yesterday in the
MPC when you're setting up your pads to route them into studio one you wanna go
to pad mixer
and right here for the outputs you wanna change the outputs right so that when
you go into the mixer and you go here to the NPC and you
expand the mixer right right now if I press pad 2 or the MPC you don't hear it
but if I press pad 1 you hear it that's because it's coming through
um one right I press - it's coming through three small hairy right if I
press and the other ones you won't hear it because it's not expanding so I
didn't um say that in the last video I did select
me to say that so if you made it this far in this video I'm not sure where
this part is going to be act directly in the video but I'm sure people is gonna
ask about that in the comment section so I I'm doing this for myself so I can
just guide them here to this video all right so that's pretty much it that's
how you setup impact XT to uh do for your drums and your tastes and how you
like to operate it in the new studio one for platform I hope this helped you

WHAT QUEEN ANTS TO LOOK FOR RIGHT NOW! (May 30th, 2018) - Duration: 3:20.
Welcome, AC Family to ANT BITE WEDNESDAYS, covering the world of ants as they relate
to global news, social media, and ant keeping.
I'm here to fill you in on what queen ants to look out for right now if you're living
in North America.
If you're not from North America, stay tuned I'll also let you know how to find out what
is flying in your continent.
This past weekend, I was shocked to meet so many of you AC Family in Ontario, Canada at
our first AntsCanada meet & greet, hence my hoarse voice today.
The ant love was incredible!
You came in with ant shirts, test tubes, and ant costumes!
You even brought in queen ants of your own and were eager to chat about the happenings
of the Antiverse.
This opened my eyes as to how many of you actually are into ant keeping and not just
watching videos about ants.
So, if this is you and you're a starting ant keeper, head outside now in the afternoons
and keep your eyes on the ground!
Right now is the ultimate season for Camponotus ants, also known as carpenter ants!
When you spot a queen ant, place her into a proper test tube setup, keep her in the
dark, and she should start laying eggs for you in a few days.
So many of you have been tweeting me photos of queen ants you've captured asking for an
ID and indeed 95% of them are Camponotus ants.
I love Camponotus ants because they are large so they're quite easy to observe with the
naked eye, polymorphic, meaning they have super majors after about the hundredth worker
point, and they are relatively easy to keep.
The one downside of this genus though is that they are slow-growing.
Instead of the four week development from egg to adult worker, it takes 8 weeks, and
the queen takes periodic egg-laying breaks.
It usually takes two years before you start to see impressive numbers, but as is essential
to ant keeping, patience is a virtue!

The appraisal season is right around the corner and all of us have to have that
conversation with our Managers at some point or the other. How do you reach that
particular number that should be your appraisal. This conversation can get very
intimidating or awkward how do you prepare for this in this video. We had a
San Jose are going to teach you the right way. Let's get started now before
you speak to your Manager about getting an appraisal. The first thing you need to
do is build an extremely solid case around why you deserve an appraisal and
why you deserve a good appraisal. To start with first start looking at the
work you've already done. Since you've been working with the same company for a
while now go back to the numbers that you achieve, go back to your targets and
see if you have consistently been achieving all your tablet and if you
have that's just point number one in building a great case for your appraisal.
The next thing you need to do is some self-evaluation this will require
assessing your own skills. The place to get started is your HR go to the HR and
take the job description for whatever role you're performing in the company, go
through all the skill sets that the company requires for that job and now
start assessing yourself. Would you rank yourself as average, above average or
really really go to window skills because if you feel you're way above
average for those skills then you do need a good appraisal. The next thing you
need to do is figure out what the average salaries are for your job role
in the industry. You're in there are lots of websites that can help you do this
some for example a Store or Pay Scale go to these website and figure out what
other people in the same industry are making for the same job role perhaps
with the same skill set an experience that you have, if you realise that you're
getting below average industry pay that just means that you need to get a good
appraisal and it makes for a better case. These three points will get
in mind and with good amount of research can make a really good case for your
next round of appraisals. The last thing to keep in mind is that timing is
everything make sure that you do not approach the subject of an appraisal
publicly in front of other colleagues. This might put your manager on the spot
also make sure that in the past couple of days or weeks before bringing up the
subject of an appraisal. Your Manager has not really complained about any work
that you've done. This might not be a good time to talk
about an appraisal and with that we come to the end of this video. I hope you can
