Hello welcome to the medical science liaison channel again
My name is Martijn Bijker and I'm the founder of the global medical science liaison training company
and I'm shooting here from my balcony in Sydney a sunny winter Sydney
you might hear a few birds but I hope they won't be too distracting
so before we start make sure you subscribe here at the bottom and today the eighth question
in the series is about how to dress to your MSL interview and a lot of you
might not be used to dressing really corporate-style like you normally do I
mean I've been a postdoc and a PhD my attire was flip-flops a t-shirt and shorts
not sure that was allowed but I got I got away with it
interviews might be a bit more dressed up maybe a nice pants an d a shirt
but if you go for an interview for an MSL role make sure you have proper attire
so for guys that means a suit, tie make sure everything looks look sharp, ironed, clean
make sure your shoes are polished
And for women make sure,
I've seen a lot of women coming underdressed
so make sure you have a dress, skirt, a blouse a jacket
make it look just think about if I am your interviewer and I see you I should
be able to send you out to my top-notch KOL on the spot that's how good
you should look. Make sure you don't have too many distractions too many
color distraction so keep it reserved, that's probably the best word for it
not big earrings of big jewelry also not too
much perfume and those things definitely not your smoker don't start smoking
before your interview, because you're going to smell really badly and to be honest I don't
like smoking smell so if you're coming in smoking/smelling like an ashtray
that wouldn't help in your interview of you who had me in front of you so make
sure you come prepared don't I've seen people just without a
jacket, without a tie, rolled up sleeves and it could be that the person who
interviews you has that attire himself or herself
because it's a casual Friday but it's just a bit out of respect if you make
sure you come fully prepared and fully dressed to the interview so make sure
you look top-notch top ten and that's the first thing you you tick for the interview
