Uber adds panic button for U.S. customers, with driver button to come later - Duration: 4:16.

Uber rolled out a U.S. customer panic button and Trusted Contacts safety features nationwide.

Both tools are accessible from the Uber app home screen.

Swipe up on the new safety center icon and tap "911 assistance."

You will have to tap again to confirm the call.

Uber's director of product management, Sachin Kansal, told The Verge the extra tap is required

to minimize accidental 911 calls.

With the second tap the car's make, model, license plate number, and current location

display on the app screen while the app dials 911.

When the operator answers, the rider can explain the problem and relay the car's information.

An investigative reporter with Today had an exclusive first test of the new panic button.

The reporter read the displayed car location information to the 911 operator, and police

arrived within five minutes.

Because passengers can get unruly or endanger drivers, Uber also announced plans to introduce

a driver emergency button following the passenger 911 call button.

When you don't want the driver to know you're calling 911

Uber is teaming with RapidSOS in a pilot program for automatic location sharing with 911 services.

Six U.S. cities will have a more advanced version of the emergency button, with location

and car-specific information.

Riders in Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Naples,

Florida; Tri-Cities, Tennessee; and Louisville, Kentucky will be first with the advanced version.

Nashville will be the next city with the advanced notification capability, Today reported.

When Uber riders in the listed cities tap the advanced emergency button, the 911 operator

will automatically receive the rider's name and the car's make, model, color, license

plate number, and exact location.

With that capability, even if a rider can't talk or doesn't want to be heard speaking

to the 911 operator, the emergency call would go out and help would be dispatched.

Let others know where you are Uber's Trusted Contacts feature lets U.S.

riders designate up to five friends or family members to share real-time Uber trip location

information.

Contacts will be able to follow along as the trip progresses and know when the rider reaches

the destination.

The app sets up reminders to turn on sharing during each trip.

A nighttime option lets users share Uber trips in the evening only.

Earlier this year, the ridesharing company's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced the emergency

button and other safety services would be coming soon.

"Helping keep people safe is a huge responsibility," Khosrowshahi wrote in a company news release

at the time, "and one we do not take lightly.

That's why as CEO, I'm committed to putting safety at the core of everything we do."

Uber originally introduced an in-app panic button in India in 2015.

The addition was precipitated when Uber service was suspended in several Indian states after

an Uber driver was accused of rape by a female passenger in New Delhi.

At the same time, Uber also added what it termed a 'safety net' tool that let Uber

riders in India share trip information and location with up to five contacts — the

early version of the new Trusted Contacts feature.

US televangelist appeals to followers for $54 million private jet - Duration: 3:01.

An American televangelist is appealing for donations to fund the purchase of a $54 million business jet, saying that if Jesus was still preaching he "wouldn't be riding a donkey

" Jesse Duplantis, 68, whose Christian ministry is based in Louisiana, made the appeal for a Dassault Falcon 7X jet in a video for his followers

Jesse Duplantis Ministries has already gone through three private planes, "burning them up for the Lord Jesus Christ," he said

"Now some people believe that preachers shouldn't have jets," he said in the video

"I really believe that preachers oughta have and go on every available voice, every available outlet to get this gospel preached to the world

" Duplantis said he needs the jet "so we can go anywhere in the world one stop" and he recounted a conversation he said he had with God about needing the plane

"He said, 'Jesse, you wanna come up where I'm at?'" Duplantis said. "And I said, 'What do you mean?' "He said, 'I want you to believe in me for a Falcon 7X,'" Duplantis said

"I can't live long enough to travel by car, or by ship, or by train, but I can do it by an airplane," he said

"I really believe that if Jesus was physically on the Earth today he wouldn't be riding a donkey," he said

"He'd be in an airplane preaching the gospel all over the world." I really believe that if Jesus was physically on the Earth today he wouldn't be riding a donkeyJesse Duplantis The eight-passenger Falcon 7X can fly from Paris to Tokyo or Shanghai to Seattle on a single tank of fuel

Sara Ali Khan to shoot for Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath and Rohit Shetty's Simmba simultaneously - Duration: 4:26.

Kedarnath CONTROVERSY sorted; Sara Ali Khan to shoot for Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath and Rohit Shetty's Simmba simultaneously

For the past few days, Kedarnath once again came in news, albeit in a controversial manner.

The film, which is now solely produced by Ronnie Screwvala, once again faced a setback after filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor dragged the film's leading lady and debutant Sara Ali Khan to court.

This legal battle took a new turn when a day ago it was revealed that the makers are planning an out of court settlement.

Now we hear that the two parties have arrived at a consensus with Sara Ali Khan shooting for two films simultaneously.

With Ronnie Screwvala coming on board as the producer after the creative differences with producers, especially KriArj Entertainment, the team rejoiced about resuming work.

But the film yet again got trapped in this controversy with the debutant actress being dragged to court.

Director Abhishek Kapoor dragged his leading lady to court after he was miffed with Sara Ali Khan for giving dates to Simmba.

The filmmaker wanted Sara to make her debut with Kedarnath and wasn't keen on her signing other films.

Hence, when the actress allotted the same dates that were required for Kedarnath to the makes of Simmba, Abhishek decided to take her to the court.

However, followed by the same, the matter came into notice of Sara Ali Khan's actor-father Saif Ali Khan.

The Nawab decided to intervene and even managed to convince Abhishek aka Gattu to settle the matter outside the court.

Now it seems that the parties have arrived at an amicable solution.

Keeping in mind, that both films are important, Sara Ali Khan has decided to divide her time and dedicate it to Kedarnath and Simmbasimultaneously.

Sources close to the producer have revealed that he has agreed to the solution.

"Abhishek has accommodated Sara's dates for Simmba with the schedule of Kedarnathas he does not want any of the producers to suffer.

Sara who was originally supposed to make her debut with Kedarnath will be working on both the films simultaneously now." Kedarnath stars Sushant Singh Rajput as the leading man and is said to be a love story set against the backdrop of the Uttarakhand floods.

As for Simmba, the film features Ranveer Singh as a cop and is a remake of the South film Temper.

It is directed by Rohit Shetty.

PVC Boning for Puppet Bodies - Duration: 4:57.

hello and welcome to another one of our videos this one I means he's looking at

reinforcing puppet bodies the public bodies is basically foam and sometimes

they get very flattened squash particularly when you carry your puppets

in a suitcase or something like that when you're on tour and just they tend

to go flat so what you can do is add some boning which is gives it a lot a

lot more strength and keeps it a lot more it gives it more form particularly

when you have foam that's quite light and soft so I'll show you how to do that

so what we're going to use for the ring is some PVC piping the thinning is

thinner gauge stuff is good this is an electrical one conduit but then we're

going to use a saw to split it first in half then into quarters and that's what

we have here and then split that down the middle into the aides

so we get a flexible but strong piece of PVC

now you can calculate it to go on the inside of the foam or the outside

probably prefer to have it nicely snugly fit it inside the foam so I have made a

ring a circle that is right there of the size I want so over a flame or some heat

I'm going to heat this to approximately 77 degrees make sure you don't burn

yourself until it starts to just soften then on my circle my mold I'm going to

start wrapping it around then the opposite direction like this I know that

as it melts that goes on to the circle fine go right round the whole circle

so that you have finally got it overlapping the other one now you could

do this without heating it just make a circle but heating it helps it to retain

its shape without any stress cut that to length so that there's still an overlap

then to secure it I'm going to make a couple of holes with a knife so that

they are countersunk at the same time

then with the two marks that were scored by that I can go through to the other

side turn that over and come from the inside so that you get a countersink

on the inside of it then with a knife or a saw I'm going to cut a very thin

little wedge piece sort of like that and so that little wedge is going to go

through the two holes until it goes in tight

then I'm gonna take a flat-headed nail and a pair of pliers so I don't burn

myself is to heat it up to 67 degrees or so not too hot but hot enough to then

melt that pin which is now a rivet into the countersink

he just a little more and flip it over and do the other side

so if you do the other one you now have it riveted less than solid now it will

glue with some contact glue into there but I've made it to so that it will fit

right in the middle so with a sharp knife craft knife I'm going to slice

down the middle of that to the depth of the off the blade more less and go right

round and then in that I'm going to put the ring and then glue that so that it's

down by about a centimeter or half an inch so I have room to sew when I'm

closing the body of the puppet so folded down half of that you just pinned it so

that I can have access to putting the ring on and apply some contact loop

around there fold it back up to close it off so there we have it embedded into

the phone
