Waching daily May 29 2018

Hi, I'm Moose and in case the title and thumbnail didn't quite make it clear,

this video will contain heavy SPOILERS for 'Solo: A Star Wars Story.'

Consider yourself warned,

because today, we're talking about the shocking reappearance of,

did I mention SPOILERS?

Darth Maul.

Well. it's not shocking for everyone.

If you're a fan of the comics, 'Clone Wars,' and 'Rebels,'

it should come as no surprise that that the split-in-half Sith lord is alive and well.

But if you haven't been keeping up on the new canon,

you might have left the theater a little confused.

Well. fear not, my young apprentice,

because we've got the answer to what could be the most important question of our times:

How is Darth Maul Still Alive?

Not only that, but how did a solemn blood knight end up in charge of sleazy criminals?

It's a sordid tale of siblings, sabres, and Sith lords,

and it all starts on the planet

Dathomir

Dathomir was home to the Nightsisters,

a coven of witches who tapped into Dark Side to aid in their infernal magic.

The eventual leader of the Nightsisters was Talzin,

mother of Maul and his brothers, Feral and Savage Opress.

Beyond having a knack for badass names,

Talzin was also an extremely powerful sorceress,

which soon caught the attention of Sheev Palpatine,

A.K.A. Darth Sidious,

A.K.A. your and my future Emperor.

[CACKLING]

He taught her about the Dark Side, she taught him about Dathromi magic.

It was like a cool little networking meeting,

with a mutual exchange of ideas and information.

Well, let me finish, Dmitri.

Let me finish, Dmitri.

Why do you think I'm calling you? Just to say hello?

Of course I like to speak with you, of course I like to say hello!

Sidious even promised to make Talzin his new apprentice,

then he was like 'psych, I'm taking your baby boy instead!'

Yoink!

Sidious subjected Maul to brutal training,

and instilled in him a burning hatred for all things Jedi.

He scored the first notch in his lightsaber by killing a padawan named Eldra Kaitis,

but that still wasn't enough to satiate his bloodlust.

Luckily, his master was about to unleash his plan to seize control of the galaxy,

but even though hundreds of Jedi would perish in the purge,

only one more would taste Maul's plasma blade before his untimely

Death

No!

Despite Jake Lloyd's awe-inspiring acting,

Mom. I did it. Yeah!

the real star of 'The Phantom Menace' was only on screen for 12 minutes,

and spoke just 31 words.

At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge.

Darth Maul's master orders him to hunt down Princess Amidala and her Jedi escorts,

and he almost nabs them on Tatooine.

Maul follows them to Naboo,

kicks Obi-Wan's ass,

and kills Qui-Gon so hard his Force Ghost was too shook to show up in the movies.

He shows up in the cartoon, I know, but you know who doesn't? Liam Neeson.

Obi-Wan rallies,

recalls his lightsaber,

And slices the sith in two.

Both halves plummet down the shaft below,

and that's the last we'd see of Maul for ten years,

until his unlikely

Resurrection

After 'Episode I,' Star Wars fans were still thirsty for more Maul.

It seemed like a waste to kill such a cool character after so little screen time.

I mean, imagine if people actually cared about Snoke?

There used to be a ton of Expanded Universe stories that brought him back as a clone,

a hologram,

and a cyborg that actually gets killed by Uncle Owen.

But those are all long lost Legends now,

so how'd he come back to life in the new canon?

Maul's rage and hatred kept him alive long enough to snag an air vent during his descent,

and pull his ticked-off torso into a space dumpster.

He survives the trip to the landfill planet of Lotho Minor,

and snags a new set of cybernetic legs,

made out of garbage and held together by spit, chewing gum, and the power of the Force.

Being bisected took a toll on the suffering Sith, though.

His mind was shattered, and the only thing he can remember from his old life was a fiery hatred for one man:

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Speaking of his old life,

we've got to take a detour back to Dathomir.

Talzin, Maul's momma, knows her baby boy is still alive.

Mothers always know. Your mother knows what you did.

Don't try to hide it. They always know.

But she doesn't know where he is,

so she tasks her surviving son Savage Opress with finding his brother.

Opress had become a badass in his own right,

first as a mind-controlled monster under the Nightsister Asajj Ventress,

then as Count Dooku's Sith apprentice.

He finds his brother and returns the prodigal son to Dathomir,

where Talzin whips up a new set of bipedal legs for him.

and sacrifices her own power and life energy to restore his body and mind.

Back at 100%, Maul takes Savage as his own apprentice,

and plots his revenge against the Jedi who killed him,

and the Sith who abandoned him.

I was apprentice to the most powerful being in the galaxy once. I was destined to become... so much more.

Then you must have your revenge, my brother.

Yes. We shall start with revenge.

But to do that, he'd have to become a

Crimelord

So. You and your brother want to get Obi-Wan Kenobi's attention. How do you do that?

Easy, just slaughter a bunch of civilians. During their duel, Maul taunts Obi-Wan about his master's murder to goad him into anger,

which leads to hate, which leads to suffering, yada yada.

Obviously, Obi-Wan survives.

so the bash brothers decide to take a different tactic.

You better bet your bottom dollar that these two brothers know how to handle business.

After getting their asses kicked in another encounter,

they escape to Mandalore,

a peaceful planet that was once home to a fierce warrior culture.

They align with Death Watch, a splinter group that wants to Make Mandalore Great Again,

but in order to do that, they need an army.

Their first stop is the criminal syndicate called Black Sun.

The mob bosses aren't initially receptive,

but the sole survivor pledges his loyalty after Opress kills all of his cronies.

It would seem the decision to join us is now yours.

After this display of powe, another syndicate called the Pykes eagerly joined up,

which left the Hutts as the only holdouts.

Jabba and crew mocked Maul's offer,

but after making the albino Hutt Oruba an offer he couldn't refuse,

the rest of the space slugs fell in line.

Three of the most powerful mobs in the Galaxy were now under Maul's control,

and he named his new army the Shadow Collective.

Despite heavy resistance, Maul seized control of Mandalore,

but he struggled to maintain his grip over of the planet.

Seeing an opportunity, Sidious swooped in to take his old apprentice down a peg.

He takes on the two brothers in a no-holds-barred handicap match,

which ends with Maul humiliated,

and his brother murdered.

Sheev throws Maul in a space prison called the Spire,

but he allows him to escape in order to track down Talzin,

who Sidious wants out of the picture before he executes his plan for galactic domination.

I'm Darth Sidious, I'm about to take over the galaxy.

But I got this witch running around on Dathomir, and she's super powerful.

AND she really hates me because I kidnapped her son to train him in the Dark Side,

Then he got sliced in half, driven mad, turned into a cyborg, and drove him to a life of crime!

That's why he wanted her out of the picture.

In the second-most humiliating death in Star Wars,

Maul has to watch helplessly as his beloved mother is killed by General Grievous.

Yuck.

I'd rather get killed by General Mills.

Oh Jesus Christ, Lord Savior, save me, take me to the light! I see demons!

He escapes, but Sheev isn't sweating.

He's got bigger fish to fry than Maul, and besides,

The Shadow Collective is shattered,

Mandalore is under Imperial control,

and his old apprentice knows who the big dog is.

That more or less brings us to 'Solo.'

where Qi'ra, Dryden and the Crimson Dawn gang are revealed to be working for none other than Darth Maul.

Or, just Maul. He's not so much a Sith fan anymore.

It seems he hasn't lost a step after losing the Shadow Collective,

and is perfectly happy working with thieves, pirates, and scumbags in his endless pursuit of revenge.

Now, we already know how Maul's story ends,

but that supremely satisfying final fight takes place years after 'Solo,'

so we'll save Maul's run in 'Rebels' for another video.

There's still a few unexplored years in-between,

with plenty of room for sequels and spin-offs.

Not bad for a character who was killed off in his first appearance!

In hindsight, it was a waste of potential,

and with 'Solo,' moviegoers are finally going to learn what fans of 'Clone Wars' and 'Rebels' have known for years:

The Star Wars galaxy is a much richer place with Maul around.

Thanks for watching!

I was stunned to see Darth Maul in Solo,

I could have sworn they'd save him for an Obi-Wan movie.

Honestly, Maul could probably carry his own spinoff,

so I wanna know which Star Wars character you think deserves their own movie next.

Trump says investigation of 2016 election interference is now interfering with 2018 elections

President Trump on Tuesday said that the ongoing special counsel's Russia investigation would amount to "MEDDLING" in this year's midterm elections, his latest effort to cast the probe as motivated by partisan aims.

"The 13 Angry Democrats (plus people who worked 8 years for Obama) working on the rigged Russia Witch Hunt, will be MEDDLING with the mid-term elections, especially now that Republicans (stay tough!) are taking the lead in Polls," Trump wrote on Twitter, adding: "There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats!".

In a series of morning tweets, Trump sought to turn the tables on an investigation that began as an attempt to uncover Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible coordination between the Russians and Trump's campaign.

The probe, which recently marked its first anniversay, is headed by special counsel Robert S.

Mueller III, a longtime Republican, and overseen by Deputy Attorney General Rod J.

Rosenstein, a Republican and a Trump appointee.

The president has seized on the fact that some of the lawyers working on the investigation have donated to Democratic candidates in the past.

In a second tweet Tuesday, Trump said the special counsel's team should instead be investigating the campaign of his Democratic opponent, whom he described a "totally Crooked Hillary Clinton.

"Why aren't the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton," Trump wrote.

"It's a Rigged Witch Hunt, that's why! Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!".

Republicans risk losing control of the House and possibly Senate in this year's midterm elections, as Democrats feel emboldened by Trump's unpopularity.

Numerous polls this year have showed Democrats holding a significant lead on generic ballot questions regarding Congress.

Several more recent polls have showed that margin narrowing.

In a third tweet, Trump suggested the Russia probe was taking away some of his focus on other issues confronting the country, including trade deals and the effort to denuclearize North Korea.

"Sorry, I've got to start focusing my energy on North Korea Nuclear, bad Trade Deals, VA Choice, the Economy, rebuilding the Military, and so much more, and not on the Rigged Russia Witch Hunt that should be investigating Clinton/Russia/FBI/Justice/Obama/Comey/Lynch etc.

" the president wrote.

Among those pushing back against Trump's assertions on Tuesday was Senate Minority Leader Charles E.

Schumer (D-N.Y.), who noted that Mueller so far has indicted or secured guilty pleas from 19 people and three companies.

"Mueller's work is that of a career prosecutor and law enforcement officer who is squarely focused on getting to bottom of Russia's meddling in our elections and any possible collusion with your campaign and a hostile foreign government," Schumer wrote in a tweet directed at Trump.

Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards - Which is best? - Duration: 8:38.

Hey I'm Adam Jusko from ProudMoney.com in this video we're gonna look

at which of the Delta SkyMiles credit cards is the best. But before we do that

I would ask you to please subscribe to our YouTube channel if you have not

already and if you have already I thank you for doing so. So there are four Delta

SkyMiles credit cards... you go from a no annual fee card all the way up to a card

with a substantial annual fee... we'll look at each one of these cards in turn, talk

about the pros and cons, who each card is best for, and then try to sort of name an

overall winner here. All four of these cards are from American Express and the

number one we're going to talk about is the Blue Delta SkyMiles card, which is

the no annual fee card of the bunch. It gives you two miles per dollar on your

Delta purchases, two miles per dollar on restaurant purchases --- which actually none

of the other Delta cards do give you, so this is sort of an interesting

point per mile perk on this no annual fee card that the cards

actually charging an annual fee are not giving you. So that's something to

consider. Other purchases you make with the card are going to get you one mile

per dollar. You can get a 10,000 mile bonus on this card if you spend 500

bucks within the first three months of having it. The other perk here is 20% off

your in-flight purchases when you use the card when you're flying Delta. So

that's pretty much it. Now some of the other perks that you might often

think of with a frequent flyer card like free checked bag or priority boarding, that

sort of thing, you're not getting those with this. This is really sort of a no

frills card here. It's really for someone that wants to try and build up

miles and get some free flights but doesn't want to pay an annual fee and

sort of the extras that sometimes come along with airline cards are not that

important to them. So that is the no annual fee Blue Delta SkyMiles card. Now

taking a step up is the Gold Delta SkyMiles

card and that has a $95 annual fee. You're going to get two miles

per dollar on Delta purchases, one mile per dollar on everything else. Like I

said before, that two miles per dollar on the restaurants is only for that Blue

Delta SkyMiles card --- the Gold card and these other ones do not have that. So

again, two miles per dollar on Delta purchases, one mile per dollar on any

other purchases you make. But you do get your other

perks like your first checked bag is free, you get priority boarding. You can

earn bigger bonuses. You can get 30000 bonus miles if you spend a thousand

bucks with this card in the first three months. You get a $50 bonus when you make

your first Delta purchase with the card assuming that is within the first three

months. No foreign transaction fees on this card or the other ones that I'll

talk about... that Blue Delta SkyMiles card actually does have foreign

transaction fees. You get discounted Delta Sky Club access, which is okay,

but you still have to pay for it. But this one is sort of a good card for

someone that wants the perks like the free checked bag and the

priority access --- something a little bit better than just earning miles like

with that Blue Delta card. So this is sort of that step up. You're paying a

$95 annual fee but if you're someone that travels with

any regularity you're going to be getting some perks off of this one that

it might make it worthwhile for you. And in fact in many cases it

will be worthwhile for a holder because we're assuming to some extent that you

fly Delta with some regularity here. Now the number three card is the Platinum

Delta SkyMiles card again that is going to be another step up from the

Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card. Essentially offers you similar things to

what the Gold Card has --- the two miles per dollar on Delta purchases, the one mile

per dollar on other purchases, the free checked bag, the priority boarding. But you

can get bigger bonuses: if you spend a thousand bucks in the first three months

you're gonna get 35,000 bonus miles, you're going to get 5,000 Medallion miles. You can

earn an extra $100 if you use this card for an actual Delta purchase

within the first three months of having it. Plus this has a bonus if you spend

more throughout the year... if you spend $25,000 or more throughout the year,

you're going to get a 10,000 point bonus plus 10,000 Medallion miles bonus as

well. Now the other big step up here from the Gold Card is the fact that you get a

Companion Certificate upon renewal of the credit card each year. So when you

renew the card you're going to get a certificates that will allow someone to

fly essentially free with you in the main cabin of the airplane. Now you still

have to pay any incidental taxes and fees that go along with any

sort of airline charges but you're getting that Companion Certificate. So

for this one it's really... it's just got that little bit of a step up

from the Gold Card. But this one has a $195 annual fee. So

the way you have to look at it is: Number One, you can look at those bonuses, even

though they're a one-time deal, but, Number Two, if you're going to hold the

card over the long term that Companion Pass is really the place where you want

to look. Obviously that Companion Pass is probably going to be worth more than

$100 if you use it every year, right? So going from a $95 annual

fee to a $195 annual fee is going to make sense for

you if you use that Companion Pass every year. If for whatever reason you don't

fly enough, that you're not going to book on Delta and then be able to

use that Companion Pass then maybe it wouldn't make as much sense. But overall

to step up from the Gold Delta and a $100 difference in the annual

fee is probably a good thing for most people --- or I should say there's a

value there to spending that extra $100 in annual fees. Then

the fourth card here is the Delta Reserve card. This is a big step up in

terms of annual fee --- you're now going to have a $450 annual

fee. Same basic perks as the other cards including the two miles per

dollar on Delta purchases, one mile per dollar on your other purchases, your free

checked bag, your priority boarding, all that sort of thing. Where you're going to

get your step ups here is the Delta Sky Club --- access is going to be free for you,

nobody else is getting that with any of these other cards. You can upgrade

priority over other people within your Medallion class or

whatever the terminology is that the Delta uses here, so you get some

priority there. You also get the Companion Pass that we talked about

before but you can also have that for first-class, so if you buy first-class

then you can bring someone along with you who also gets to fly first-class.

You've got some bigger upfront bonuses here,

and bigger yearly bonuses if you use the card for

over $30,000 per year, so again this is a card that just heaps on a

little bit more, or a lot more if you want that lounge access in

particular and that Companion Pass with first class, those sorts of

things. If you're someone that travels a lot, a lot of this stuff can be important

to you, and you can end up earning a lot. So if you spend a lot and you fly a lot,

this Delta Reserve card could make sense for you, even with the $450

annual fee. If lounge access isn't important to you and you don't really

fly that much, aren't going to put that much onto your card in charges, then it's

not going to make sense so much. So, looking at the four cards, which one is

the best? Well, like I said, each one is a little different based on who you are,

but overall we would probably say for most people that Platinum Delta SkyMiles

card is going to be the one that gives you the greatest value. Yes you're gonna

pay a $195 annual fee but you have some nice bonuses and

you have that Companion Certificate every year that is probably

pretty much gonna pay for that annual fee or you are gonna get value

there. Now if you're someone that wouldn't use that Companion Pass the

Gold Delta SkyMiles is very popular with many people because that annual fee is

lower so it feels like a little less of a hit, but it's a step up from

that no annual fee card that isn't giving you the perks like your

checked bag and your priority boarding. So we would probably say the Platinum Delta

SkyMiles, many people would say the Gold Delta SkyMiles. The cards on either end ---

the high end and the no annual fee end --- are good for certain people but probably

not the majority of people that are interested in a Delta SkyMiles credit

card. So that's it, thanks for watching. Please go to ProudMoney.com where we do

other credit card reviews and personal finance news and all sorts of other fun

stuff too. Thanks for watching. Bye.
