Waching daily May 3 2018

Hey guys! Maria here.

It really dawned on me today that I'm gonna graduate this year

There's so many things to do. I'm feeling overwhelmed.

if you're like me you're wondering

how am I gonna do this or maybe you're thinking

I don't even know what to do?

If only there was a person I could talk to who could answer my questions?

Here's the good news, there is! That person is called an Advanced Academic Counselor.

These counselors are here to help you figure out what it's gonna look like after high school.

Do you want to go to college? They can help you with that. You want to go to trade school?

They can help you with that. If you want to join the military? They can help you with that!

How do they know all this stuff?

It's their job! Their sole purpose of being is to answer the questions you have

and questions you haven't even thought of.

They know all kinds of stuff, like

important tests.

Like the ACT and the SAT. They know when you need to take them and which one you should take.

They know how to get money for college.

They'll help you fill out your FAFSA and look for scholarships and grants. They can walk you through

what kind of career you want, and how you can get a job?

(Heavy Sigh)

What was I saying about there being a lot to do? Life after high schools and the awesome!

But only if I have a plan. And the best person to help with that plan might be my very own

Advanced Academic Counselor.

Hey, if you like this and you're freaking out about college and life after high school

I've got more videos with a ton of information

This is Maria, signing off.

"The #1 Thing That Scares Me Is Regret" - Top Motivational Speakers 2018 - Duration: 10:27.

but veinous booze media yeah the book yes she's podcasts yes you do a lot yeah

man look here's what I think I think we get one at bat I'm the number one thing

that scares me in life is regret I really really really don't want to be on

my deathbed whether that's tomorrow or when I'm 97 and think I should have done

that I should like that's that spooks me right like hard work

people judging me leaving you know trolling me on social media like all the

stuff that normal people worry about I don't worry about I worry about regret

and so I'm trying to squeeze that everything out of my life and so yeah I

do a lot the concept of improving lives runs through the center of everything I

do and then I realize that the the way to improve lives is to continually

improve yourself right so with that every every morning when I when I get

out of the bed you know I I haven't fixed everything in the world yet so

there's always something to do and in this film I read an interesting quote

for the Siddhartha Gautama the Buddha he said that good people have to get out of

the bed every day and try to empty the ocean with a ladle right and I thought

that was you know I knew that was profound and I paused for a second and I

said I what the hell is a ladle right right so there you know I just I touched

it on my iPad is ladle oh it's like a big spoon my big spoon okay so trying to

empty the ocean with a soup spoon you know as the the mentality of how you you

wake up every day to try to do good in the world so for me I'm I'm really

driven by continually trying to elevate my elevate my mind and elevate my spirit

and care for my body and to be able to love as many people as effectively as as

possible this mystery of life that I've been

given how did you go through making the decision to drop it was a very good job

and take it take this chance it all seems very obvious now right

this many years later that it paid off but at the time it was not obvious no no

it was and and and I did do a lot of soul searching I I went to my boss at

the time and I really liked my job and I told my boss I was gonna go do this

thing start an internet bookstore and my wife at I'd already told my wife and

she's like great let's go and I I said so my boss is gonna do is

he's like this is a good idea so I think this is a good idea but would be an even

better idea for somebody who didn't already have a good job and that sort of

made some logical sense to me and he convinced me to think about it for a

couple days so I went away I was really trying to get my head around how to

think about this and I think for me the right way to make that kind of very

personal decision because those decisions are personal they're not like

data-driven business decisions there they are you know what does your heart

say and for me it was I could the best way to think about it was to project

myself forward to age 80 and said look when I'm 80 years old I want to have

minimized the number of regrets that I have I don't want to be eight years old

in a quiet moment of reflection thinking back over my life and catalog you a

bunch of major regrets and I think that regrets are biggest regrets in most

cases you can murder somebody okay you'd regret that but in most cases our

biggest regrets turned out to be acts of omission

it's paths not taken and they haunt us we wonder what would have happened I

loved that first thing that I never told him and then they married somebody else

I didn't you know I didn't do this and so that's the frame of mind that I put

myself in and I and once I did that once I thought about that way it was

immediately obvious to me I knew that when I'm 80 I would never regret trying

this thing that I was super excited about and failing if it failed fine I

would be very proud of the fact when I'm 80 that I tried and I also

knew that it would always haunt me if I didn't try and so that would be a regret

it would be a hundred percent chance of a regret if I didn't try and basically a

0% chance of regret if I tried and failed so I think that's a useful metric

for any important life decision when you choosing someone when you choose

somebody to listen to and you choose somebody to learn from and you choose a

business partner you choose a client they gotta be as crazy and they gotta be

as dumb as you that's how you get success that's how you know you're gonna

be able to push that individual that's how you know that relationship is gonna

last you know people talk about in business or say oh you got to find a

balance you got to find that person you know if you're one way you got to find a

person that's the other way no that's bullshit that's pulling you away from

how you want to do things and how if you're intense the next person I want is

to be as super intense super intense now those people around you they got to be

smarter than you are right but you don't want to surround yourself with people

that if you're the smartest person in the room you need to get more people in

the room sure okay you should not walk into a room and ever be the smartest

person in there but the people around you have to be much smarter or at least

in certain things you may have an expertise in one thing or that other

individual better have an expertise that's beyond yours in something and

something else like but from the my standpoint you know MJ was just as tough

as I was Kobe is just as tough as I was from above from being the best okay I

wanted to be the best at what I do they wanted to be the best at what they do

all right there was an attraction it's an attract and those are the people that

allow you to push them and allow them to they understand they want to get they

want to get better you know they don't need to be motivated okay they're like

you tell them hey little interesting they're not they're not hiring you to

come motivate me nobody wanted as bad as you so what the best of the best already

wanted more than anybody else there's a reason they're the best you know we we

talked about this earlier at lunch they're the ones that are show up to

practice early okay they're the ones taking the extra shots they're the ones

doing the wind sprints at the end there you know getting treatment taking care

of the body they're showing up they're showing up on off day so you're saying

you're sending the guys home you're saying you gotta go gotta go

you got a little eat you gotta you gotta tell them to leave you don't have to

tell them to show up you got tell them to leave that that that's enough you

know you have people in your office you look at it you know how many employees

do you have now we got 40 218 4200 agents okay

I had 4200 agents okay if you put them all in all in the room okay and you were

able to put them all in one shop together all right and say your hours

were 9:00 to 5:00 okay you'd have 4200 people in here from

night from 9:00 to 5:00 o'clock from 5:00 o'clock after 5:00 o'clock may have

500 after 7:00 o'clock you may have 200 after nine o'clock you

may have five and then guess what at the end of a there's only one light left on

maybe to yours and somebody else's that person is as tough as you are but you

can count on that everyone well you can count on that individual one thing I

learned especially when I was in high school and I said this before many times

is the the hard course music scene that I got introduced to that became my life

that became my lifestyle to the you know every decision I made was all based on

the fundamentals of this hardcore scene even the food I ate I became vegetarian

because that's what they did they were talking about animal rights and I got

into that right it was all really based on passion and community you know it's

like you have to be really into what you're saying and doing and be educated

on what you're saying and doing and and learn some instruments and play the

music you know and play the music of that culture essentially you're

ambassador of the culture and the way you get respect in that culture is by

finishing your projects whether it's a song whether it's playing a show whether

it's putting on a show for other bands so that scene can prosper and there's an

ecosystem so it's all about making this the the ecosystem of that community

healthy and the more you do that the more that you're able to make it healthy

the the more respect you get so it's not

about oh I just walked in with like the shoes that no one else has or the bike

that everybody wants the more of that element that you bring to the table the

the less cool you are right like you're your cooler if you actually go I'm

vegetarian I stop wearing leather shoes oh Sh you made a stance it's something

that like a sacrifice or I you know I'm putting on a show and all these bands

are coming in wow you put on the show that's awesome I started a band I'm

playing and I'm representing the sound or I made a zine I interview the four

bands and I went to Kinko's and I made the zine I'm passing them out to all the

different people it's almost like a religion in a way where you're spreading

the that goodwill and it's not about a financial reward as well it's like there

is no financial reward and what we're what I'm talking about here it's all

about believing believing in a culture and and being rewarded by spreading that

culture and building that healthy ecosystem of that culture so it is in

essence that culture doesn't have to be music that culture could be in a book

club or in a chess club or in something that's like drives you because you know

another thing is as well as I talked to some people they're like I don't know

who my passions are and I you know I talked to Tom billion sidequest about

like how do you find your passion like what what gets you there you know if you

don't know what it is you just have to keep trying stuff and and see what what

pulls you what's pulling you to a certain place

Slenderman is Back, Experience YouTube Horror - Duration: 13:55.

Holy cow, how lucky are we that there are still Slenderman series out? If you're

not new to the internet you like creepypastas you're familiar with the

horror side of YouTube or because of the upcoming movie event that I'm sure

there's gonna be lots of publicity for you are now learning about Slender Man

lucky you everyman hybrid and tribe 12 has started posting again I'm so excited

Barry I'm very excited very I'm sorry I'm probably blew the mic levels I'm

best right like I love Slender Man so much I have at least a gig of me a

footage of me running through the woods and if you dig through my old videos on

this channel there's at least one that where I do a Slenderman set up but I am

NOT slender or tall but it was fun and I love it if if this is too much for you

needed backup Slender Man is a creepypasta he's in a new the Internet's

first urban myth arguably by idea channel so sometimes he Slenderman

sometimes he's the stranger sometimes he's the operator sometimes he has

tentacles but he always it's generally a blank face man maybe the arms of

different lengths who teleports around and tortures victims in the woods and is

able to get into impossible places like the first when I was in the thick of it

and catching up on all the Slender Man series a couple years ago probably 2000

2013 or something like that God so that's so great I'm so excited

like I I would stay up till is too late and then I would have to go around and

make sure all of the doors and windows were locked it got in my head so bad

what's great about the Slender Man series it's not it's not quite a found

footage

it's not quite a found-footage kind of art it is a vlog it's a horror vlog

people talking to the camera uploading videos to YouTube and doing it sometimes

they find footage but a lot of times it's just them and they all and

sometimes they go the extra mile and put AR games out in the world and you'll

stuff defined and real different internet things to set up to figure out

for puzzles it's all the fantastic things about the internet my two

favorites have always been one Marble Hornets

which finished up its run I think it was in 2016 a couple years ago it finished

its series so you can go back any time and see a fantastic faun horse

you and like any other kind of genre it kind

of has its tropes so the cool thing about it is you don't see the monster

very often Marble Hornets you don't see the monster until episode 3 and it's

like a glimpse but it always does ah but it feeds off of the feeds off of

personal space violation Slenderman can go anywhere you can show up in your room

at night while you sleep he messes with your memory he makes you doubt your own

sanity and drives you insane which is

which is the didactic and vlogging excuse to have a camera on you all the

time so it's not just that this Slenderman thing is stalking you it's

that it's stalking you and you have to voluntarily give up part of your privacy

recording yourself 24 hours a day in order to know it's not messing with you

and to be able to experience your own memory because you can't have memories

anymore and also it keeps you up at night which also is so great it also

combines the really cool aspect of going into abandoned buildings and exploring

it like I hope these people get permission though dude on your own but

old abandoned buildings are so cool to go through this kind of the the plant

overgrowth and everything being broken and to imagine that this was once a

functioning place and now it's just covered in overgrowth and it's like

dilapidated and there's something supremely creepy about that so what

really struck me and what really what really told me that was so drawn in and

captivated by this is I'm watching this video and there's a guy breathing and

the camera is going everywhere and it's in the woods that I am close to the

screen I am pausing every other frame to see if I see something and I realize

he's just running through the woods it's a person running through the woods and

just because they put him in little any corner of the screen

it's a Where's Waldo for the monster he's not always there but sometimes he's

there and you just have to pause it and like see if you spot it it's fantastic

so we got so far for this we got horror we have personal space invasion we have

the creepy unknown we have voluntarily giving up your own privacy

we have Where's Waldo aspect and it's all vlogging and like that intrusive

kind of life log it is it's fantastic everyman hybrid took this idea and kind

of kicked it up a notch

what what's this said the operators circle

so every man hybrid was made by a bunch of guys they're all strong they work out

knives they have knives weapons and they're all huge fans of creepypastas

while other Thunderman series people run away and they need to hide and they like

stay indoors and don't socialize and feel isolated everyman hybrid was a

group of very capable testosterone driven men who fought the Slender Man

there is a point where they go after him with a baseball bat and hit him with a

car it's it's incredible they get into teleportation where there will be

pockets of space that lead to another spot where you climb into your friends

closet you can come out in an abandoned building somewhere and they're able to

cut it up together really seamlessly and fantastically and it it's disorienting

for you the viewer and they're disoriented and it's just fantastic we

say we're fantastic a lot cuz I'm so everyman hybrid does not stop at the

Slenderman they they grab a couple other creepy pastas they also get into the

rake and the habit and it's like these are guys that know and love creepy

pastas and it's they've been on a tiny a hiatus but in the story the story's been

a hiatus because they've been because we're down to one character and he's

stuck in a house with the habit who is protecting and torturing him it's I

don't know why these slender and series are popping back or if like there was a

Kickstarter I missed or if for some reason the movie studio is paying them

to get going again in which case this is the best which case this is the one and

only reason why I like the movie a short aside on the Slender Man movie I it's

not out yet but for what I've seen it in the trailer they took the Slender Man

and then they just put it in a generic ID sorry I clapped they took the Slender

Man and they put it in a generic horror movie which

is not the Slenderman you know all those things I just listed about why it's so

fantastic the movie might not do those and does look like it does it looks like

a very generic horror thing where Slenderman is an offbeat internet kind

of horror thing and it's just not my Slenderman

it's another one it's another script just

oh man looks like an old deer path hey where is it raining too

ah sorry this was a long hanging brush there

- weird *mr. song world scripts*

oh no it's the slender cam

I just had to guess about that in the peculiar art form of a vlogging horror

fantastic huh thanks for watching and now I have a patreon that you can go

to there you can get some very personal rewards other than just watching my

videos you can read my writing and I can write things to you with your name and

said them to your house

What sound would it make?

Wait, neither of those animals make sounds.

Alright, if you could time travel to the past or the future,

which would you choose?

The pa-- future!

Oh, like live? City! Sorry, I messed that up.

- Live in the city? - Go city, yeah!

- Yeah. - Alright, alright.

Um... I'm gonna go with casual.

My outfit of life always looks like I just got off like a 16 hour plane ride.

Cool, what'd you eat for breakfast?

- What did I eat for breakfast? - Yeah.

- I think I had French toast. - Oh!

And then I had the bacon with the--

like the maple syrup over it with the pepper.

- Yeah. - No, it was pretty incredible, yeah.

- We can't go that way, we'll die. - Yeah, we can't go that way.

We can't go that way, alright, are you ready?

- Whoa, we're going back. - Whoa, are we reversing?

What's your favorite pizza topping?

- Er... sausage, Canadian Bacon! - Canadian Bacon.

I would go and find a mouse, I would hang out with him.

That's a great answer, spell Mississippi!

- Er, M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I? Yes! - Yes!

- Would you rather do laundry or dishes? - I'd rather do dishes.

Oh, are you afraid of heights?

Um... I dunno actually, I should figure that out.

What about sharks?

Sharks? Yeah, I'm scared of sharks, who isn't scared of sharks?

- That's terrifying, that's a shark. - That's true.

- Bears? - A bear?

I'd wanna give one a hug, I think it'd be nice.

- I think we're here. - Oh, this is me!

- Thank you! - Thank you so much!

- Yeah, yeah. - Oh, it's...?

- What? - High five!

So, me and PeeDee have been pretty good friends throughout this time that I've been here at ECU.

We do a lot of sporting events together, philanthropy events and has been a big epic part of my ECU career.

PeeDee's all about spirit – going the extra mile to make sure every Pirate feels appreciated.

He loves the school, he loves the students, the alumni – he's always game for a game.

He's pumped up every second.

He's the biggest fan out there.

No one competes with him.

It'll be really tough to leave this university.

Wearing it on my head, it kind of symbolizes what I have as far as pride.

New app ARGYOU brings online arguments to the real world | This is That - Duration: 4:07.

♫ (tense music) ♫

I'm not going to argue anymore because nothing makes sense with you! - Oh c'mon! You think you're so tough, huh?

Get up! Get! Up!

♫ (office chatter, happy music) ♫

Online arguing can be so detached

and kind of unsatisfying.

We wanted to design an app that would allow users to argue

how our grandparents' generation did:

in the same room.

ARGYOU is like a concierge service to help make that happen.

Okay, you're all set up.

An ARGYOU ambassador will be at the train station to pick you up

and bring you face-to-face to meet DopeFanGirl96.

ARGYOU is very easy to use.

After installing on your desktop or mobile device,

the app is designed to detect combative online interactions.

When an argument is detected,

a small window pops up in the top-right corner of your screen.

It asks if you want to meet up with the person you're arguing with.

If both parties agree to meet,

an ARGYOU ambassador will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.

Nice to meet you.

Hello!

I'm going for my fight now.

We're here!

Go ahead, have a seat.

DonkeyBallz, this is BitchyKitty.

Go ahead, say hello.

♫ (yelling, energetic music) ♫

Everybody knows that humans

have nothing to do with climate change.

Bieber was born with talent. - No talent, nothing.

Out of the womb, singing like an angel.

Talent, my ass. No no no.

- You are also... - Fake news is everywhere, buddy.

- No, you're a fake news proprietor. - You're one of those people...

Because of your generation, me and my kids are gonna have to live on Mars

and my kids are never gonna be able to see a moose.

Shawn Mendes has more talent in his little pinky finger

than Bieber has in his entire body.

What do you think I am?

You are a liar!

- Oh yeah? Fake news! - Liar!

Liar!

Dumb! You're dumb!

Liar!

Are you listening to me?!

This is your chance to yell at him if you'd like.

Go ahead.

No, no!

Guys, guys, guys, guys!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! All right!

Sometimes at the end of sessions people become friends.

Sometimes people become enemies.

But what I love most about our service,

is that it fosters courage.

I had no idea

that DonkeyBallz was so young.

But it was such a high-spirited, interesting discussion.

It was so amazing meeting Karla.

We both drive Vespas.

You wanna get a beer or something?
