Trump Has HUGE Plans for Bloated Omnibus Bill and You're Gonna LOVE IT! - Duration: 3:09.Trump Has HUGE Plans for Bloated Omnibus Bill and You're Gonna LOVE IT!
Waste of money."
That's what President Trump thinks of the bloated Omnibus spending bill that recently
passed, and he's about to gut it.White House insiders told Daily Caller that Trump will
be cutting a whopping $25 billion from the giant bill.
From Daily Caller
President Donald Trump's administration is going to roll out a recision package in
the coming weeks that will roll back $25 billion from the $1.3 trillion spending bill Congress
passed in April, a source with first-hand knowledge told The Daily Caller News Foundation."I
will never sign another bill like this again.
I'm not going to do it again.
Nobody read it.
It's only hours old.
Some people don't even know what is in it.
$1.3 trillion dollars–it is the second largest ever," the president said in late March
when he signed the Republicans' spending bill.
The White House was expected to release a recision package — a request to rescind
funds Congress previously appropriated — Tuesday, but that did not materialize.
The administration was reportedly looking at rolling back between $30 and $60 billion
from the $1.3 trillion spending bill.
Trump proposed a 2018 budget that was, notably, $114 billion less in domestic spending than
what Congress passed in March.
The president has since expressed outrage about the deal Senate Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan struck with Democratic leadership, characterizing
it as a back door deal that illustrates Washington's dysfunctional working environment.
The president even threatened to veto the bill only hours before he signed it into law,
calling it a "waste of money."A recision package would make its way from the White
House to the House and Senate appropriations committees, where lawmakers would have up
to 25 days to amend, approve or shoot down the president's proposal.
If lawmakers on the respective appropriation committees fail to do something within the
25 day timeframe, the package would likely make its way out of committee, where the full
House and Senate bodies would have the opportunity to act.
House and Senate lawmakers would have 45 days to consider the recision package.
If they disprove of the president's proposal, the White House would then be forced release
the withheld funds to the federal agencies.he package would fail if either appropriations
committee or the House or Senate bodies shoot it down.
The one potential caveat working in the president's favor is that lawmakers can approve the package
with a simple-majority vote.

Kanye Blames TMZ For His Problems - Duration: 10:38.A LOT HAPPENED IN THE WAKE OF THE RELEASE OF HIS
INTERVIEW WITH CHARLEMAGNE THE GOD, WHAT WAS HAPPENING.
WE TALKED ABOUT IT YESTERDAY ON THE SHOW, BUT THERE ARE
MORE DEVELOPMENTS TODAY THAT WE WANT TO FOCUS ON.
HE WENT ON TMZ.
KANYE WEST GOES ON TMZ TO TALK ABOUT OPIOIDS AND HOW THEY
AFFECTED HIM.
ONE OF THE THINGS HE DID WAS KIND OF STAND UP AND
ADDRESS THE AUDIENCE, HE KIND OF BROKE AWAY FROM THE MAIN SHOW.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE VIDEO OF HIM EXPLAINING WHY HE
DID ALL OF THESE TWEETS AFTER BEING IN THE HOSPITAL.
TWO DAYS AFTER I GOT AFTER OPIOIDS, I'M IN THE HOSPITAL.
I'M TAKING TOO, EVERYONE LISTEN TO THIS PLEASE.
2 DAYS BEFORE I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL, I WAS ON OPIOIDS.
I WAS ADDICTED TO OPIOIDS.
I HAD PLASTIC SURGERY BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO LOOK GOOD FOR
Y'ALL.
I GOT LIPOSUCTION.
BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT Y'ALL TO CALL ME FAT LIKE Y'ALL
CALLED RON AT THE WEDDING.
THAT WAS HIS FIRST, AND LATER ON IN THE OUTBREAK AFTER KIND
OF ELABORATING ON THE SAME IDEAS, HE CONTINUES.
HERE'S MORE.
Y'ALL HAD ME SCARED OF MYSELF, OF MY VISION, SO I
TOOK SOME PILLS SO I WOULDN'T GO TO HOSPITAL AND PROVE
EVERYONE RIGHT.
WE ARE DRUGGED OUT.
WE ARE FOLLOWING OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS.
WE ARE CONTROLLED BY THE MEDIA AND TODAY IT ALL CHANGES.
WHAT THE HELL?
THAT WHOLE VIDEO REMINDS ME OF THAT ONE CUSTOMER THAT
GOES, THAT LOSES HER MIND IN THE CELL PHONE STORE BECAUSE
HER BILL IS TOO HIGH.
EVERYONE, THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE EVER.
EVER.
TAKING GALAXY THREES AND THROWING THEM.
I DON'T KNOW, INTERNET PROVIDERS BUT THE THING ABOUT
KANYE WEST AND I THINK WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THIS A LOT IS THAT
HE IS SO FRUSTRATINGLY BRILLIANT AND HE HAS ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY.
IF YOU LISTEN TO ANYTHING THAT KANYE HAS BEEN SAYING IN
THE LAST WEEK, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN WHAT WE'VE DONE TO KANYE.
KANYE IS THE VICTIM.
IT'S WEIRD.
THE WHOLE LIPOSUCTION THING, IT IS LOST ON ME BECAUSE HE IS
MARRIED TO A WOMAN WHO HAS MADE A CAREER PUTTING OUT HER BODY
IMAGE AS THE PERFECT BODY IMAGE AND MAKING US FEEL THAT WE NEED
TO LOOK A CERTAIN WAY SO THE' ABOUT KANYE WEST AND THE WHOLE
LIBEL THING WAS SO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE WORD IS.
BEYOND WEIRD.
WEIRD IS A NICE WAY OF PUTTING IT.
WHAT IS HE DOING?
THIS IS A GUY DRUNK ON HIS OWN BS, OBVIOUSLY.
HE IS DRUNK FIRST ON HIS OWN CELEBRITY AND THEN YOUR EVERY
UTTERANCE IS PICKED UP AND SPLASHED OVER EVERY BIT OF
MEDIA, YOU THEN GET DRUNK ON YOUR OWN UTTERANCE SO
THAT'S WHAT THIS IS.
HE IS BLURTING STUFF OUT, NOT REALLY SURE, TRYING TO WALK
THINGS BACK WITH THE OPIOID THING.
HE DOESN'T REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING.
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MUSIC, DON'T GET ME WRONG AND ALSO
MARKETING.
HE IS REALLY VERY GOOD WITH THAT AND KANYE FANS, I AM SORRY, HE
SHOULD JUST STICK TO THOSE THINGS HE KNOWS AND THAT IS NOT
A LOT OF
STUFF, JUST A WITH THAT BUT TO GET INTO THESE OTHER AREAS, WHEN
YOU START TALKING ABOUT RACE RELATIONS, IT IS TOO BAD BECAUSE
HE COULD POTENTIALLY BE A GREAT LEADER AND SPOKESMAN FOR RACE
RELATIONS OR BREAKTHROUGH IDEAS BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY.
HE IS DRUNK ON KANYE AND I THINK HE IS GOING TO STAY THAT WAY.
THE NARCISSISM IS PARAMOUNT HERE AND THE THING ABOUT KANYE
WEST THAT IS ALSO A LITTLE BIT HYPOCRITICAL IS THAT HIS FIRST
THREE ALBUMS, THE COLLEGE DROPOUT, LATE REGISTRATION, HE
WAS AGAINST ALL OF THE THINGS THAT HE IS NOW SUPPORTING ABOUT
STANDING BEHIND TRUMP AND BEING, ALIGNING HIMSELF WITH THE
PEOPLE HE'S ALIGNING HIMSELF WITH WAS THE COMPLETE ANTITHESIS
OF WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT EARLIER IN HIS CAREER.
A WHY IS HE DOING IT?
I SAW SOME OF HIS TWEETS ARE KINDA POINTING AT I WANT TO
ALIGN WITH TRUMP NOT BECAUSE I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING HE IS
SAYING OUT THERE BUT BECAUSE HE IS MY BROTHER.
WE SHOULD ALL LOVE EACH OTHER, IT SHOULD BE THE SYMBOL OF
UNION AND I THINK THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON HERE.
IS HE SHOWS UP, AFTER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS VERY
THOUGHTFUL CONVERSATION, KANYE HAS BEEN AWAY FOR A YEAR,
NOT REALLY TALKING THROUGH TWITTER.
HE SHOWS BACKUP AND HE IS LIKE, CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
BUT HE SAYS IN A WAY WHERE HE JUST HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE
ACTUAL THOUGHTFUL DISCOURSE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND HE IS AN
ARTIST AND HE FENCES HIMSELF THIS ARTIST AND I WATCHED
IT FAST.
I WATCHED THE CHARLEMAGNE INTERVIEW THAT HE DID.
IT IS TWO HOURS LONG, I HAVEN'T FINISHED IT FULL DISCLOSURE, HE
ENDS UP GETTING TO SOME REALLY THOUGHTFUL, AMAZING POINTS BUT
TO GET THERE, IT IS ALL THIS, I AM JUST BEING HUMAN, WHEN
HE IS A WRITER, HE CAN CRAFT ALL OF HIS SONGS AND GET THEM
TO WHERE HE WANTS THEM WHEN HE PUTS THEM OUT THERE.
BUT HE THINKS HE HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY AND WHAT HE
IS TWEETING BECAUSE PEOPLE, YES, PEOPLE EXPECT KANYE TO BE
THIS GREAT VISIONARY AND THEY EXPECT HIM TO GIVE HIS
FINAL ANSWER EVERY TIME.
THAT IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO BE THOUGHTFUL IN THE STUFF
THAT YOU ARE PUTTING OUT.
DOES IT MAKE SENSE?
A GOES BACK TO MY POINT OF ACCOUNTABILITY.
SAYING THAT HIS ALBUM FLOPPED OF THE RADIO HASN'T EMBRACED
HIM SINCE TAYLOR SWIFT.
YOU DID THAT.
YOU ARE A GROWN MAN.
YOU MADE THE CHOICE TO MAKE THOSE CHOICES THAT A BEEN
DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR CAREER.
THERE WAS VERY DOUBLE, HE SAID THE WHOLE THING ABOUT
400 YEARS IS A LONG TIME AND KIND OF SAYING, ESSENTIALLY
THAT SLAVERY IS A CHOICE.
THERE HAVE BEEN SOME AMAZING MEANS OF FIGHTING BACK AGAINST
THAT THAT YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THERE WAS A STATEMENT, VAN
LATHAN SHOT BACK, AN EMPLOYEE AT TMZ:
IT IS NOT.
THAT IS A VERY REAL STATEMENT
THAT VAN LATHAM MADE
BECAUSE KANYE LIVES A LIFE OF AFFLUENCE.
HE IS A CELEBRITY.
APPARENTLY HE DOESN'T HAVE A LOT OF MONEY.
I AM NOT BUYING THAT.
IT PROBABLY HAS BUT FOR
HIM TO MAKE THOSE STATEMENTS, ALSO, WE TALK ABOUT ALIGNMENT.
HE IS SENDING A MESSAGE TO WHITE NATIONALISTS, THE ALT RIGHT,
ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE IN SUPPORT.
WE GOT ANOTHER BLACK MAN, GOOD FOR US.
THAT ONLY AROSE FROM THE CONVERSATION THAT WE'RE
TRYING TO PUSH FORWARD.
I AM A HUGE KANYE FAN.
I'M SO CONFLICTED.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA, I WAS LISTENING TO TOUCH THE SKY
WITH LUPE FIASCO AND I WAS LIKE WHERE IS THIS GUY?
IT'S LIKE WHEN DAVE CHAPELLE CAME BACK, HE SAID SOME
STUFF THAT WAS ON POINT BUT THAT IT THOUGHTFULLY AND RESPONSIBLY.
KANYE SHOULD POLICY.
I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN GO BACK TO BEING A KANYE FAN AND THAT'S
TOUGH FOR MY GENERATION.
FOR THE 400 YEARS THAT SLAVERY WAS A CHOICE, THAT IS
IDEAL BUSTER FOR ME.
THAT IS SO OBSCENE.
IT DENIES ALL OF THE SPECIFICS OF THE HISTORY OF SLAVERY.
SHAMEFUL, AWFUL, DESPICABLE HISTORY AND THAT THIS GREAT
ARTIST WHO IS THOUGHTFUL AND HAS ALL OF THESE MESSAGES IN
HIS ART DOES NOT KNOW HOW DESPICABLE THAT IS, THAT IS
A DEAL BUSTER FOR ME.
YOUR CONFLICTS, I AM ROOTING FOR YOU TO LET GO OF HIM.
HE SAYS ALL OF THESE THINGS, HE MADE A STATEMENT DURING
THE INTERVIEW WAS CHARLEMAGNE AND SAID I WROTE THAT DOWN
EARLIER AND A DOPER WAY WHICH I GET.
THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.
GET IT RIGHT AND THEN SHARE IT WITH US.
HE RODE THE SLAVERY THING DOWN?
IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE, JUST A PASSING THOUGHT.
IN THE INTERVIEW HE SAYS THE WISE MAN KNOWS HE KNOWS NOTHING.
I'M LEARNING.
YEAH, BUT THE WISE MAN USES THE FACT THAT HE KNOWS HE
KNOWS NOTHING TO DO RESEARCH INTO THE WORK AHEAD OF
TIME, DON'T JUST SHOW UP AND SAY SLAVERY IS A CHOICE.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
I'M SURE THERE IS A WAY BECAUSE KANYE IS A THOUGHTFUL PERSON,
MOST OF THE TIME APPARENTLY, TO LOOK AT THIS CONCEPT THAT
SLAVERY IS A CHOICE IN SOME WAY, I CAN'T WRAP MY MIND AROUND
BUT KANYE UNDERSTANDS AND IS RHETORICALLY SOUND.
WAS GIVEN FULL CREDIT THAT HE MEANT SOMETHING THAT WASN'T
COMPLETELY OFFENSIVE.
YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WAY YOU PUT STUFF OUT.
YOU ARE RIGHT THAT THERE IS ALL THESE PHOTOS OF HIM WITH ALT
RIGHT STARS AT RANDOM MUSIC FESTIVALS OR WHEREVER HE
WAS.
THOSE FOLKS ARE USING YOU.
THAT IS THE CHOICE YOU'RE MAKING, TO BE THEIR I DON'T
WANT TO SAY SLAVE BUT PUPPET FOR SURE AND THEY ARE USING YOU
TO ACCOMPLISH THEIR ANSWER.
IT IS AN ORGY OF FAME AND CELEBRITY AND THAT IS WHAT
IS GOING ON HERE AND KANYE IS AT THE HEAD OF THAT ORGY.
AGAIN, YOU START TO BELIEVE YOUR OWN CRAP AND I THINK THAT
IS WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE.
YOU ARE SO GREAT TO GO THROUGH AND WATCH THAT 2 1/2
HOUR CONVERSATION AND TRY TO TAKE SOMETHING OUT OF IT.
CHARLEMAGNE IS GREAT BY THE WAY.
HE IS GREAT.
BEFORE WE GET TO BREAK, KANYE HAD A MISSED OPPORTUNITY
TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH BECAUSE HE TOUCHED ON THAT
AND THAT WOULD'VE BEEN THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE
WHAT HE SAID WAS POWERFUL, THE PEOPLE HAVE THE STIGMA
ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND HE IS ONE OF MANY PEOPLE THE HAS
A POSITION OF POWER TO NOT CHANGE IN REGARDS TO THE STIGMA.
HE IS LIKE I DON'T NEED THE THERAPIST, I USE THE WORLD
IS MY THERAPIST.
ANYONE I TALK TO IS MY THERAPIST.
IT IS LIKE YOU, THERE IS A REASON FOR THERAPIST.
HE SAYS I WANTED CHANGE THE STIGMA OF CRAZY AND MENTAL
HEALTH.
I HAVEN'T DONE AN EXTRA STUDY OF IT WERE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE
CONVERSATION BUT BEST BELIEVE I'M GOING TO CHANGE THE STIGMA.
PEOPLE CHAIN TAKE SOMETHING ENLIGHTENED PUT IN THE
WRONG CONTEXT AND CALL IT CRAZY.
THAT IS OBVIOUSLY STATEMENT FOR HIMSELF, BUT YEAH, DO THE
HOMEWORK, MAN.
DO MORE HOMEWORK.
I WATCHED YOUR INTERVIEW, NOW GO RESEARCH MENTAL HEALTH.

Evidence Reveals Democrat Mega-Donors Who Paid For The Anti-Trump Dossier - Duration: 15:11.Evidence Reveals Democrat Mega-Donors Who Paid For The Anti-Trump Dossier
We knew the elites would not give up this country without a fight.
When Donald Trump won the presidency, they immediately jumped into action.
The corrupt swamp dwellers concocted a scheme to undermine the President.
It was built around a bogus dossier that accused Trump of wrongdoing.
This dossier was supposed to expose Trump as a Russia puppet.
But it has been largely disproven—even among liberals.
Yet the elitists in Washington used it as an excuse to launch Mueller's witch hunt.
Even after all this time, they push this investigation, based on a false document.
Now we are learning just who was behind this dossier.
It won't come as surprise.
From Fox News:
The team of opposition researchers behind the infamous anti-Trump dossier embraced by
the FBI were paid big bucks to continue trying to dig up dirt on Russian meddling in American
politics – even after the 2016 presidential election.
That revelation, buried inside a 243-page report released by House Intelligence Committee
Republicans last week, has sparked new speculation about the identities of the secretive donors
who were funding the post-election project.
According to the House Intelligence Committee report, Daniel J. Jones – the president
of the Penn Quarter Group and a former staffer for Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein – "secured
the services" of dossier author and former British spy Christopher Steele "to continue
exposing Russian interference" after the election.
It also hired an associate of Steele's and the opposition research firm Fusion GPS.
The report doesn't name the donors, but it reveals that the Penn Quarter Group was
being funded by seven to ten wealthy donors.
All from New York and California.
They gave over $50 million to this firm, in the hopes they will take down Trump.
Now, who could those donors be?
Obviously big Hollywood elitists were throwing money around, hoping to destroy the results
of the election.
Also businessmen from New York, corrupt globalists, who had hoped Hillary Clinton would become
President.
She's much easier to buy and sell than most politicians.
Liberals really want the Russia story to be true.
Yet time and again we learn that Trump never worked with the Russians.
In fact, it was Hillary and her people that colluded with Russian agents to steal the
election.
Even though this comes out time and again, the left ignores it.
That's because rich, powerful donors are spending money to spread the lie.
It doesn't matter how many times the facts disprove it.
They will spend as much money as they can to invent dirt to smear our President.
The swamp dwellers don't want to be ousted from D.C.
They want to continue their corrupt schemes.
Democrats want to undo Trump's historic tax cuts.
They want to hike regulation up so that no business can succeed.
And they want to destroy the very values that built this country.
They will get away with it if we let them.
Those Democrats who are working to push these lies must be held accountable.
They must be forced out, come November.
Otherwise, they will continue their dark work.

Accommodations for DHH Students in General Ed - Duration: 6:37.Hello everyone! Today I would like to
talk about the accommodations that can be put
in place in a general education classroom
in order to fit the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
The things that I will be talking about today
are by no means an exhaustive list of the different things
that can be put in place in order
to accommodate the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students but
are a mere starting point of things to consider when creating
a 504 plan or an IEP
It is also worth noting that
not every single thing on this video will
be effective for each and every deaf and hard of hearing
student and that these accommodations will vary
from student to student as parents
family members,
and other members of the child study team
collaborate in order to figure out
which accommodations will best suit each child
when working towards their goals.
One thing that I would like to do first is
to define what exactly an accommodation is.
And an accommodation by definition is:
anything that provides access to communication and instruction for the student.
The first type of accommodation that I would like to talk about would be
the amplification accommodation.
So the amplification options typically
include a students' personal hearing device and
something else so a personal hearing device could be
a cochlear implant, a hearing aid, or a BAHA and those
are worn specifically by the student
and it may be used in conjunction with another amplification option in the classroom
One of the first one's being an FM system
An FM system is something that is paired directly with the student's
personal device: their hearing aid, cochlear implant or something else
and has the teacher wearing a microphone or may have a pass microphone
that hands -that is handed from student to student
and the sound that is going from the speaker's voice- from the microphone
goes directly into the student's personal hearing device.
Therefore nobody else in the classroom
can hear it. The teacher cannot hear the amplified sound
The students cannot hear the amplified sound because it is paired directly with the
deaf or hard of hearing student's personal device.
Another option would be a soundfield system
This is similar to an FM system but
has slight differences. In this case the student's
personal device is not hooked up to the soundfield system
It does require the use of a microphone by the teacher
and possibly even the students via a pass around microphone
And the whole class can hear the
sound that is amplified
so this is not something that directly goes into the student's device
but is something that can be heard by everybody.
The next type of accommodation that I will be talking about
is communication accommodations
These are any accommodations that
have to do with the information that is conveyed between
the deaf and hard of hearing student, the teacher
and his or her peers.
One of the ways this can be done is preferential seating.
And preferential seating is exactly what is sounds like. It's
just that the student who is deaf or hard of hearing has better access
to the person that is the main speaker. So this may mean
that the student is sitting closer to the teacher or
up front and this way the student has better access
to the sounds directly coming from the speaker's voice but
also any visuals that may be conveyed
And in terms of seating arrangements
and desks and stuff like that,
preferential seating may be in a U shape or in an O shape
a circular shape
so that the student has visual of all of the people that are speaking
or potential speakers in the room.
The final thing is
to check for understanding on a frequent basis.
Especially when a lot of information is being conveyed
in a short period of time
it's very easy for a student to get a little bit
confused or lost so
in order to check in with that student
just make sure that they
get all of the information that you conveyed
so that nobody is confused.
The next type of accommodation that I would like to talk about is a physical environment accommodation.
And that is exactly what it sounds like
it is any accommodation that is made
for the physical structure of the classroom.
To make sure that there are flashing lights that accompany fire alarms
To make sure that the students have that visual
stimulation as well
to make sure that they know what's going on
and not just have to rely on the sounds from the fire alarm itself.
And then the last one would be noise reduction.
just in any sense
This could be making sure that the ceil-
that the kid is in a room that has lower ceilings
to make sure that maybe there is carpeting in the schools so
that there is better acoustics.
And if that's not possible just
making sure that there is something like tennis balls
on the bottom of chairs to avoid the screeching of chairs
on a classroom tile floor.
The last type of accommodations that
I want to talk about are instructional accommodations.
So one of the first things is to use visuals.
So like I have said previously,
deaf and hard of hearing students typically
are very visual learners
and it is important to use something like a SMART board
or a document camera that can project any information
in a very large way
so that students can see what you are talking about, in addition to
hearing that information as well
Having both the auditory and the visual
information will help the students be a lot more successful.
In addition, to use classroom captioning.
There are different ways -they're called CART or C-Print
or something like that
where the speaker wears a microphone
and then the voice- the speech that is
given by the speaker is then
transcribed into text.
In addition, all videos, like this one, should
be captioned using closed captioning.
And it is important to notice that even when
you're looking at videos online, let's say YouTube or something like that
It's important to screen those videos
before you show them because sometimes the captions that are....that are created
during their automatic captioning are
a little bit off
So just to make sure that the captions are true
to what you want them to be and
to make sure that they're completely accessible.
A last thing could just be to have a note taker
or a buddy system for notes
this way the student can just take in all the information
auditorally and visually
and does not need to rely on looking up and down from the speaker to their notes
from the speaker, to their notes in order to get the information.

Bangkok For Female Tourists: 10 Tips You Need To Know! - Duration: 9:31.Welcome to the thirty-forth video of Bangkok Unmasked!
The YouTube channel that helps you get the most out of your visit to Bangkok city!
If you're new here, please consider subscribing!
In this video I'm going to go through 10 travel tips regarding Bangkok for female tourists.
This advice is especially applicable for solo female travelers to Bangkok.
Note.
It's better safe than sorry.
Whatever you do, don't forget to buy travel insurance before you leave home!
Let's get started!
Over the years I have spoken with a good number of female friends from back home who didn't
think that Bangkok is a suitable place to visit.
The reasons were varied.
The two primary reasons though were safety and the fact the city seemed far more geared
to men than women.
For what it's worth, Bangkok a great place to visit for women.
All of the women that I know who have made the trip love the city!
Some of them love the city even more than my male friends!
Popular activities include:
- Spas - Retail therapy
- Ladyboy shows [Frankly I don't get this, but I have been dragged to ladyboy
shows more times than I can to remember] - An amazing selection of street
food - Learning the basics of Muay Thai
- Thai cooking classes - Ladies nights at all the top clubs in the
city - The temples
- Chao Phraya river cruises - And so much more!
With the above said, I do have 10 tips for female travelers to Bangkok and especially
solo female travellers to Bangkok.
Tip #1.
Hide your cash.
The are a lot of pickpockets in Bangkok and female tourists are easy prey.
Make sure that you hide your wallet and cash somewhere which makes it very difficult for
someone to grab it.
Outside zipper or button pockets are easily accessible for a good pickpocket.
Hide your cash in a mini pocket or zipper inside your clothing.
I have heard of bras with a mini pocket inside them which are available at stores like H&M.
You can also easily sew in an inside mini pocket to your shorts or jeans.
If you have a bag, place your wallet or cash inside one of the mini pockets within the
bag.
Also be sure to properly zip or buckle up the bag!
I would strongly advise against carrying expensive bags because of bag snatchers.
You will become a target if you're carrying something that stands out like LV or Prada
for example.
It's very common for thieves on motorbikes to grab a bag and ride off at speed - this
is often done by 2 men teams.
If you can, try to carry as few items as possible.
Tip #2.
Cover yourself up.
I know that Bangkok is hot and less clothes is more comfortable.
And of course stylish.
Here's the thing; you don't want to attract unwanted attention, or be disrespectful.
Bangkok may seem like an open minded paradise but in actuality Thai people are extremely
conservative.
If you go to a temple, or even certain government buildings and royal palaces, there are pretty
strict dress codes in place.
Females must cover their shoulders and legs below the knees.
Absolutely no spaghetti straps or shorts.
Wearing a sarong or long skirt wrapped around your shorts though is acceptable.
Sarongs can be rented at the popular tourist temples, but it's best to come dressed appropriately.
An important note.
If you're not dressed appropriately you will not allowed inside most of the popular and famous temples in Bangkok.
Do not forget to take off your shoes before entering the temple as a side-note!
Tip #3.
Don't walk next to, sit next to or [god forbid] touch monks.
Monks are strictly forbidden from being close to or touching a female.
They are also not allowed to walk closely next to or sit next to females.
This means that if there's an empty seat next to them on buses, boats, the MRT or BTS you
can't sit there!
Also, monks are not allowed to receive offerings or gifts directly from females.
If you're going to make a food or gift offering to a monk, place it on the ground or tray
in front of them or have a male hand the gift to the monk.
Tip #4.
Don't go anywhere late at night with no people.
This one is kind of obvious.
While Bangkok is pretty safe, after dark I wouldn't walk down small alleys, streets,
or walkways with no open stores on your own.
If an area is dark and deserted I'd pick another route or hail a taxi.
Note.
This especially includes beaches [obviously outside of Bangkok] and parks.
Tip #5.
Bring tampons!
This is maybe one of the most important tips on Bangkok for female tourists.
While it's obviously something that not overly familiar with, according to female friends
it's extremely hard to find tampons.
Most Asians apparently do not use tampons, and instead use pads.
Note.
Almost all other toiletry items can be found in Bangkok.
The best places to stock up on toiletries are Boots and Watsons.
Tip #6.
Weapons like pepper spray are illegal.
Frankly I think that it's sensible for women to carry a defensive weapons like pepper spray
for example.
I'm afraid that if you do this you'll be breaking the law.
Owning pepper spray is punishable by 10 years in prison and a fine of THB 1 million, according
to the Hazardous Substance Act B.E. 2535.
The chances of you getting into trouble over this are small, but for what it's worth if
you don't want to take the risk consider alternatives.
I'd suggest a metal biro.
You can inflict enough damage with one of these to make most attackers back-off.
You can check out one of the many YouTube videos on self defense for more details.
Tip #6.
Use the Grab app for taxi bookings.
If you are going to use a regular taxi, always use the meter and do not negotiate a rate.
However for convenience, ease of language barrier and a much better service, I'd strongly
suggest that you use the Grab app for taxi booking.
Grab is the single best way to use taxis in Bangkok for female tourists.
Note.
Grab is the Asian version of Uber.
Tip #7.
Buy a prepaid Thai simcard.
If you're going to be in Bangkok for any length of time you need to buy a prepaid Thai
simcard.
I'm an internet addict, so being offline is quite out of the question.
Email, Line, WhatsApp, and Skype aren't just nice to have.
They're a must have!
I think for most Bangkok visitors it's worth buying a sim card simply to have access to
Google maps!
Check out a video that goes through everything that you need to know about prepaid Thai sim cards
through the link above.
Tip #8.
You can easily change currency in Bangkok.
If you use credit card and debit cards to make all your purchases in Bangkok, you're
going to pay a fortune in fees.
You'll also get ripped off on the currency exchange rates.
You can convert your cash in your home country - before you arrive in Bangkok - to Thai baht
but this will also lose you a lot of money!
Converting currency in Bangkok will always get you more baht than in your home country.
I know from bitter experience that British banks have horrible exchange rates when you change
British Pounds for Thai Baht.
Even if you engage a Forex service at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport, which generally has
far worse rates than what you can find in the city, you'll be far better off.
What I suggest is that at the airport you exchange enough money to last you for a day
or two, and then exchange the remainder of your money at a currency exchange chain or
an independent money changer in the city.
Check out a video that goes through everything that you need to know about the best money
exchange rates in Bangkok through the link above.
Tip #9.
Social dating apps.
Tinder, Skout, Badoo and MoreMate are a great way to meet with locals and expats in Bangkok.
It goes without saying that you should use the same precautions as you would back home.
Tip #10.
Obvious Scams.
If an overly happy smiley local approaches you and wants to introduce you to a specific
store or restaurant, don't go!
It's almost certainly a scam.
There are a couple more videos that I have done which you might find of help.
Check out 'Is Bangkok Safe?' and 'What to bring to Bangkok?
I suggest a pretty empty suitcase!'.
Links to both videos can be found through the 'i-icon' above.
