Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini was never good enough and is worth nowhere near £50 million

MAROUANE FELLAINI should be counting his lucky stars that Manchester United want to keep him instead of moaning.

That is what most fans were doing on Sunday when they heard the club and player were close to reaching an agreement.

Fellaini had just headed home an injury time winner against Arsenal when Jose Mourinho came out with the news.

A moment that will have added to the Belgian's rather inflated sense of worth to the club.

By the way, he was looking the other way when the ball hit his head in that dramatic late moment and you can tell he wasn't really sure where it had gone.

Fellaini can leave the club as a free agent come the summer and seems smug at the thought that United will lose a transfer fee for not giving him a new deal when he wanted one last season.

Listen to this from him:. It costs £50million minimum to buy a good new player. So the club knew they made a mistake with me.".

Yes a good player does cost at least that so I would half it and maybe half it again to get the 30-year-old Belgium midfielder's value.

The United hierarchy are probably still baulking at the fact they paid £27.5 million for him on summer deadline day back in 2013.

Since then he has made 97 starts, read that again, 97 starts for Manchester United, plus a further 58 as sub.

The sub appearances normally come when all rational hope is lost and they need to find the big man in the box – as they did on Sunday, as Louis van Gaal often did when the philosophy came apart once again.

To be fair to him he has never given up in the face of criticism from fans and pundits, even when boos have reigned down at Old Trafford.

His best game probably came in the Europa League Final as Jose Mourino bypassed Ajax's high pressing game by, dare I say it, banging it up to the big man and using Marcus Rashford's pace.

That worked, but it's hardly the future.

Despite his efforts he simply was never good enough for a club like Manchester United.

The club's hierarchy will have looked at the squad they were building last season and decided that it simply was not worth giving a pay rise to the player 12 months early – you can't blame them for that.

A knee injury while on international duty in October undoubtedly hampered him this season.

But even when fully fit, would you pick him ahead of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera or the promising Scott McTominay who was given the Manager's Player of The Year Trophy by Jose Mourinho on Wednesday night?.

Fellaini has started four league games this season.

Yet he believes clubs will be kicking the door down to get his signature this summer. If they do, there will clearly be a screw loose.

Why Climate Change is Unjust | Hot Mess - Duration: 5:11.

What do you think of when you hear the words "climate change?"

Chances are, you might think of sad nature, somewhere far away.

But climate change also affects humans, in every corner of the world, including the corner

where you live, and where I live.

It impacts the people and places we see everyday, and it will impact some of us more than others.

[TITLE]

The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season was one of the most active seasons in history -- with

17 named storms and 10 hurricanes.

Six of those hurricanes had winds more than 110 miles per hour.

And while it's hard to know if any single weather event is due to climate change, we

do know that it will make conditions more extreme.

We're seeing what that future could look like in Cape Town, South Africa.

There, a drought has stressed local reservoirs, leading to water rationing as the city prepares

for the day when taps run dry.

And when you take a community that's already facing these disparities, and add in extreme

weather caused by climate change, it can make it even harder for those communities to recover.

Not every community experiences these climate changes in the same way.

Some communities have more resources, better infrastructure, or more political capital than other countries.

There's a concept to deal with these inequalities.

It's called "environmental justice."

And the idea is pretty simple: Communities shouldn't be forced to suffer disproportionate

environmental effects or deal with more pollution than others because they belong to a certain

race, national origin or income bracket.

People in wealthy countries often think these concerns are far away.

But even in a place like the U.S., where we tend to think we're ahead of the curve on

protecting all people, the execution has been spotty.

We can still find lots of environmental disparities right in our backyard.

As Miami cleaned up after Hurricane Maria, officials dumped debris next to a community

with lots of low income residents and people of color...definitely close enough to see

and smell it.

And in Houston, residents who couldn't afford or weren't physically able to evacuate before

Hurricane Harvey had no choice but to stay behind as the city flooded.

Puerto Rico has faced budget shortages and a lack of infrastructure for decades.

And after a spate of hurricanes, residents there had trouble finding clean drinking water,

and large portions of the island remained without electricity for months.

It's more than extreme individual events.

In many places, days that were already hot are getting even hotter, and there are more

of them.

This heat can be especially deadly in homes without air conditioning.

For example, the heat index inside public housing in Harlem stays dangerously elevated

overnight, even when it cools off outside.

And as climate change brings the average temperature up, systemic inequalities like this will become

more obvious.

It's not that the United States hasn't tried to fix these problems before.

The fight for environmental justice in the U.S. traces its roots to 1982 in Warren County,

North Carolina, when residents mounted mass demonstrations against a plan to put contaminated

soil in a nearby landfill.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, found that similar landfills in southern

states were all located in black or low-income neighborhoods.

Several years later, a report found this was a pattern around the country: hazardous waste

facilities were more likely to be located in minority communities.

The proof was undeniable, so in 1992, President George H.W. Bush founded the office of Environmental

Justice inside the EPA.

Two years later, Bill Clinton signed an executive order that told federal agencies to consider

environmental justice in all policies, and effectively included environmental protections

under civil rights law.

Sounds like things were going pretty well, right?

Well, environmental justice policies stalled when George W. Bush shifted the focus of the

Office of Environmental Justice from protecting low-income and minority communities to protecting

"all people".

That sounds good, but in practice, it meant those efforts no longer focused on protecting

the people who needed it most.

At the same time, many environmental civil rights claims were delayed for years, or downright

rejected.

After Barack Obama's election, his administration re-committed to environmental justice.

Democrats controlled the House, Senate and White House for two years.

But guess how many bills they filed to strengthen environmental justice protections?

Zero.

Today, EPA funding itself is under threat, so these vulnerable communities remain at

risk.

It's easy to assume that climate change will affect us all equally, but the truth

is that communities all around us -- including the one you're in -- may be forced to bear

an unequal brunt of our changing world.

If we want to change this, we have to recognize those disparities and engage with those communities

That way, as we find solutions, everyone has a seat at the table.

Health Benefits of Ginger - What is ginger good for? - Duration: 4:05.

Please Help Me Subscribe Channel . Thank You !!!!

You may know that ginger is a common ingredient in Asian and Indian cuisine, but did you know

that it's been used for centuries for its healing properties?

Ginger has a long history of health benefits, including relief from nausea, digestive issues

and pain.

The most commonly used part of the plant for medicinal purposes is the root or underground

stem, known as the rhizome.

It can be consumed fresh, powdered, dried as a spice, or used in the form of an oil

or as juice.

If you don't use ginger in your kitchen, here are 8 reasons why you might want to start!

1.

Ginger Relieves Digestive Issues

The phenolic compounds in ginger have been shown to help relieve irritation in the gastrointestinal

tract.

They help to stimulate saliva and bile production while allowing food and fluids to move through

the GI tract more smoothly.

In a study of 24 healthy individuals, taking 1.2 grams of ginger powder before a meal accelerated

emptying of the stomach, reducing indigestion by 50%.

2.

Ginger Relieves Nausea

Drinking ginger tea or even consuming raw ginger is a common and safe home remedy for

nausea, especially during cancer treatment or pregnancy and morning sickness.

A review of 12 studies that included a total of 1,278 pregnant women found that 1.1-1.5

grams of ginger significantly reduced nausea.

3.

Ginger Can Relieve Pain

A study conducted at the University of Georgia found that daily ginger supplementation reduced

muscle pain by 25%.

Ginger has also been found to reduce pain during menstrual cycles.

Researchers also believe that ginger is effective at reducing the day-to-day progression of

muscle pain.

4.

Ginger Reduces Inflammation

Osteoarthritis is a common health problem that involves the degeneration of the joints

in the body, causing joint pain and stiffness.

In a trial of 247 people with osteoarthritis of the knee, those who took ginger extract

had less pain and required less pain medication.

5.

Ginger May Reduce Risk of Heart Disease

In a recent study involving participants with type 2 diabetes, researchers found that 2

grams of ginger powder each day lowered blood sugar and led to a 10% overall reduction over

a period of 12 weeks.

High blood sugar is a major risk factor for heart disease.

With the effects of ginger on blood sugar, your risk of heart disease may be lowered

by at leas 10%.

6.

Ginger May Lower Cholesterol Levels

A 45-day study involving 85 people with high cholesterol concluded that 3 grams of ginger

powder each day caused significant reductions in cholesterol levels.

Researchers believe that ginger can aid in lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the

risk of heart disease.

7.

Ginger May Have Anti-Cancer Properties

A substance in ginger known as 6-gingerol has been studied as an alternative treatment

for several types of cancer.

Research on this theory is still being conducted, but one study found that 2 grams of ginger

extract each day significantly reduced pro-inflammatory signaling molecules in the colon.

8.

Ginger May Improve Brain Function

Oxadative stress and chronic inflammation are two factors that can accelerate the aging

process, and become a key driver of Alzheimer's disease and other age-related cognitive impairments.

Some studies suggest that the antioxidants and bioactive compounds in ginger can inhibit

inflammatory responses that occur in the brain.

In a study of 60 middle-aged women, ginger extract was shown to improve reaction time

and working memory, suggesting that ginger supports brain health in multiple ways.

Why Losing Weight is a Waste of Time. (Fun Facts/Weight Loss Fat Loss Comparison) - Duration: 6:33.

hey hey yeah you guess what I figured out? Losing weight is pointless.

Whats good Mik fit fam it's ya boy Mik back with another video

gonna tell you all why it's pointless to lose weight but before I do make sure

you subscribe and hit that notification bell so you all don't miss any more of my

videos so let's go ahead and jump right into this pointless weight-loss fun fact

more than one-third of adults in the United States are obese.

another percentage of that American adults are overweight are you guys

always running to the scale so yeah mindset is focused on losing weight but

is weight really what you want to lose I think not

more than likely you want to lose body fat but you're so caught up in that

mindset of losing weight in relation to body fat that's what you're focused on

so I'm gonna put up a few pictures and I may explain the differences between the

body fat and the weight loss and in the comments below let me know what you

thought as far as losing that body fat or body weight alright so in this

picture of this woman you can already see the progression of her weight loss

and fat loss progress she starts off at 145 pounds and you see what she looks

like then she loses weight and she's sitting

at 122 pounds she's not as defined in this picture at 122 but did in the last

photo she jumps back up to 140 pounds and you can see the definition she has

muscles so that's that fat loss but muscle gain so that's why she jumped

back up to 140 pounds you can see her abs are well defined her upper chest is

Is defined she's looking real lean in this pic

all right so this picture is basically just showing you the comparison on how

you can have a lower body fat percentage but still weigh the same as someone with

a higher body fat percentage so I mean as you can see 130 pounds the one on the

left 20% body fat another 135 percent body fat so just try not to focus on

that weight loss all right so I hope you get the concept of the difference in

losing that body weight and body fat basically you lose a lot of body weight

and with body weight it could be your muscle weight it could be water weight

just any type of weight just it doesn't matter what it is it's just that weight

that you're losing so you're gonna look all weak and feeble and frail and flat

as a pancake all over you're not gonna be defined and you're not gonna look

healthy like you should so that was just uh what I wanted to show you also y'all

could see the difference and losing body weight and losing body fat Oh another

fun fact obesity affects 1 in 6 children in the United States so I get a lot of

questions on how to go about losing this body weight and what I always tell

people is don't focus on losing the body weight just focus on being healthy

eating a balanced diet you want to focus on your proteins your your greens

macronutrients for sure like different greens veggies fruits you can limit your

carbs I know a lot of people cut out carbs that is totally unhealthy carbs

are energy carbs are your friends what you can do is do some sort of a carb

cycle whatever works for you but don't completely cut out carbs

fun fact obesity is linked to more than 60 chronic diseases so I would say the

only time you really need to focus on losing weight is if you're in some sort

of sport like boxing MMA and you're trying to make that weight that is

prescribed for you or if you're in the military and you have to make weight but

other than that once you make weight man try not to focus on that weight loss so

like I said is body fat what you're really looking to cut and you all need

to just continue to eat healthy foods well-balanced and get those

macronutrients in which are those greens and veggies and and fruits and just uh

exercise and that's basically it fun fact overweight children are more

likely to become overweight adults I hope this video helps you all out

hopefully you guys can get into a different mindset of losing body fat

instead of trying to lose weight because there is a difference between the two

also make sure you guys are eating healthy foods food is your fuel and what

you put into it is what you're gonna get out when you're in the gym just your

everyday life and a make sure y'all like this video like I said subscribe hit

that notification bell so y'all don't miss any more videos and I'll see you

guys on the next one love yourselves love somebody and be well peace

Why victimhood is attractive to white men, religions, and other majority groups | Bill Doherty - Duration: 4:02.

We live in a very interesting time where we have, I think, a combination of what's called

expressive individualism, which is about the importance of me, my experience, what makes

me happy.

What we now have is something additional and that is identity and tribal identifications

where we have—and I want to say there's a good part of this, for one thing—that

we have historically marginalized groups, women certainly in the workforce, in the public

sphere, gay people, African-Americans, other minorities, we've had a lot of folks who

have been in the margins of power in our society who have said uh-uh this isn't working anymore.

So these movements towards individual and group liberation have, in net, been very positive

for our country.

But we always tend to turn things towards a kind of individualistic focus.

Now we have a culture in which there is competition for victimhood and white men now, many white

men are calling themselves victims; victims of affirmative action, victims of the liberal

left.

And you have religious groups that have tens of millions of people in this country who

are victims of outsiders who want to destroy them.

So what's happened then is, I think, this expressive individualism has been combined

with sort of the benefits of being in an oppressed group, you know, the moral high ground that

comes with that and the strong identification that comes with being in a victimized group.

And now, everybody is in a victimized group.

After the great recession in 2007/2008, bankers were the new victimized group.

And so there's an unhealthy trend towards tribal competition for victim status in our

country and I want to go back and again say, there is something to the victim, there is

something to it.

This is hard to talk about without saying: okay everybody should just get along and stop

complaining.

I'm not saying that at all.

But there is something unhealthy, and what it keeps us from doing—this is my main problem

with it —it keeps us from working across identity groups to solve the problems that

we have together.

Because all of our major problems related to poverty, to education, to healthcare, to

the environment—just take any of our problems—they require cross-identity group coalitions to

work on together.

And when we divide into identity groups we can't work across coalitions.

Martin Luther King, just before he died, was working on poverty on a cross-racial coalition.

He knew that the civil rights laws needed to be changed and it had to be a black leadership

to change those Jim Crow laws.

The next step was poverty and poverty is not just racial.

And he knew that you needed to have a broad coalition.

That's going to be hard nowadays.

Some are trying it, but that is much harder to do in an identity-based society.
