Hi, it's Joanna and welcome to my new video!

Melbourne just like any other city has it's own fame.

And Melbourne is famous for hipsters and street art,

I'm not gonna show you any hipsters today, but we will have a look at some street art

If you ask anyone living in Melbourne what you should see around the city,

Probably heaps of people will tell you to see the graffitti laneways.

These are tiny streets in the backs of buildings,

which are usually covered in street art.

Graffitti, murals or those pieces permanently attached to the walls.

And street art in Melbourne really means ART.

Rarely can we see walls covered in offensive slogans.

Rather will we see art related to

current political situation or some famous events.

And Melb's murals really show everything;

from Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un to Kim Kardashian.

Street art in Melb. is randomly scattered around the city.

And often you will find it in places

where you least expect it.

Just like I said art can be found in the weirdest places.

And to see the place I wanna show you

we need to cross a shopping arcade.

The spots which I just showed you were just

an introduction to the ones we are going to see now.

Now we are heading to Hosier Land and AC/DC Lane,

which are the most popular graffitti laneways in Melb.

We are now on Hosier Lane, which is the most popular

graffitti laneway. And the guy behind me is just painting something.

And he can do so because it's entirely legal here.

Even though Hosier Lane is a pretty disgusting place,

it's really popular amongst newlyweds,

who come here to take wedding photoshoots.

It's super crowded here on the weekends,

so if you wanna see the graffitti laneways, choose any other day.

And AC/DC lane, a place for all fans of music and street art.

Of course AC/DC lane must have a couple of tributes to

the band itself.

You can see two of them behind me.

Here behind me you can see a flash

which is made of metal name tags.

So what is that?

On the right we have legendary Cherry Bar

and on the left a couple year old apartment building.

And somehow people who bought apartments there

hadn't come up with the idea, that

it might be loud when you live next to a club.

And they demanded the club to be either closed or soundproofed.

People were against closing, so owners went for

soundproofing, which cost them $100K.

And names of people who contributed money to that

were placed on the wall.

So if Melbourne is a city of street art

then WHERE IS BANKSY?!

Banksy came to Melb in 2003 and left a dozen of stencils.

But only few survived until 2018.

And the last couple of Banksy's pieces

can be seen in a club in Prahran.

And that's were we are heading now.

I'm going to catch the metro and just came across

the most Australian thing ever,

which is a flip-flop vending machine.

Like I said, you can't find Banksy's art in the city,

so the only place where you can find it

is Revolver club in Prahran.

And this is a really weird place.

it's legendary, even though is a real den.

I would compare it to Kitsch Club (Krakow, Poland),

before it collapsed [SIC!] couple years ago.

The parties in Revolver start at 1-2am,

when everything has already closed down in CBD.

Not sure how it works in other Aussie cities,

but in Melb. parties usually finish at 1-2am.

And imagine that you are on the dancefloor,

and the 2am strikes and DJ turns off the music,

turns on the lights and the everyone looks like

deers caught in a car lights.

It's Revolver club behind me.

If you wanna go to a club in Australia,

you need to remember that you will usually have to wait in a really long queue.

And it's not because the party is so awesome,

but it's because of the security check.

Firstly, the bouncer will take a picture of you

and secondly, he will scan your passpory or driver's license.

So if you don't have an Aussie ID yet

and you don't wanna lose your passport

I'd advise making a certified copy of your passport.

And I explained how to get it in the last video.

This is the machine which will be used to scan my ID,

And I will still be checked even tho it's 11am on Sunday.

So that's how Banksy's works look like.

And that's the only Banksy you can find in Melb.

It's middle of the day on Sunday

and the party is full on with new people still coming.
