Speaking to The Sun , the source said, "their relationship moved too quickly," and that it had quickly become, "very intense.

They believed that Megan and Wes moved into together too soon and with his commitment to Dancing On Ice, Wes had become 'too tired for sex' and that was a final nail in the coffin.

There was also the deep suspicion of the relationship between Wes and his professional ice skating partner Vanessa Bauer, who dumped her boyfriend on the eve of the live shows on ITV.

This was condemned by Megan as an 'act of publicity', so that it got the maximum amount of coverage. The source said that Megan felt threatened by Vanessa and, "all the time her and Wes were spending together.

This all culminated in Megan and Wes going their separate ways at the weekend, with 'a deep mistrust' about the status of the Dancing On Ice pairing's relationship - whether it was more than just dance partners.

Speaking to The Sun, Megan revealed that she had found it difficult watching Wes in Dancing On Ice because it, "is very romantic and all about looking into each other's eyes and parading around on the ice and being loved up together.

A devastating break-in at their flat at the end of last week seemed to be the last straw and with that, Megan and Wes called time on their relationship.

 And he was eventually replaced by Unai Emery in May. But has the decision to get rid of Wenger cost his successors? According to The Times, Arsenal paid Wenger in full for the last year of his contract and also paid off his staff

 And the report says costs at the Emirates have risen 12 per cent to £223.3 million in the last year

 After a tough start to the season, Arsenal went on a 22-match unbeaten run before being beaten 3-2 by Southampton in December

 Since, Arsenal's results have been mixed and Emery's hopes of strengthening his squad have been severely hampered

 Heavy spending in the last 18 months, poor player sales and Mesut Ozil's £350,000-a-week contract have left Emery with little money to spend in the transfer window

 This month, Arsenal are only targeting loan deals and been linked with the likes of Denis Suarez and Ivan Perisic

 On Monday, Emery revealed he had been told by Arsenal that it was tough to sign players in January

 But he confirmed there would be investment in the summer. "When we have the possibility to buy different players with big quality to help us with their performance, we can do that," Emery said

 "At the moment though the club is telling me this is not a good moment to buy new players

 "But the club say to me in the summer it is going to be different. And we are going to have chances to take and spend money to buy players

 "I know because I've spoken with the club, now the transfer market is difficult but we can take different chances in the summer
