A little more experienced player comes around and asks if you have ever made the dominant eye test.

Before I go further we will do the dominant eye test together

The first step is to form a triangle with your hands. The second step is look for an object in the room

that is far away. Now focus on that object.

Close now your right eye. If the object stays in the triangle

that means you are looking at the object with your left eye and you're left eye dominant.

The object shifts: That means you were looking with your right eye on the object. You closed your right eye,

you don't see it anymore. You're right eye dominant

What's the best lead-acid battery for my Off-Grid solar panel kit? - Duration: 1:25.

I often tell people there's not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to batteries.

Every application is going to be different and honestly, a lot of it

comes down to how the customer is with equipment, how hands-on they really want to be.

If you're looking for the most cost-effective solution and a tried-and-true battery technology,

that's been around for a long time, and that's gonna do a great job, go with the flooded lead-acid battery.

The flip side is the maintenance involved.

You're gonna have to check the levels of water inside the batteries.

You're going to have to equalize those batteries at least every 90 days.

And there's some things that you have to do to stay on top of it to ensure the longevity of the battery.

if you're the type of person that might run your car completely out of oil

and you don't check things like that, maybe stay away from flooded lead-acid batteries.

Let's go with a sealed AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat). This is gonna be more of a maintenance-free approach.

There's no off gassing, there's no equalizing. You don't have to check water levels.

You install those batteries and you kinda forget about them.

That level of maintenance-free technology comes at a higher price.

So with that said, you kind of have to weigh how much work you're willing to put into your batteries

versus the cost of those different solutions.

The best future for our country is inside the EU! - Molly Scott Cato MEP - Duration: 1:24.

Westminster is in meltdown.

The internal contradictions of Brexit were laid bare last night.

Brexit was never anything more than a bunch of slogans.

It could never be turned into a coherent negotiating position.

As we play out the end game, and the Brexit fraud is revealed, its supporters dream up

fantasy deals, so that failure can be blamed on Brussels.

But we must hold our nerve through this Westminster chaos.

A majority of UK citizens know the best future for our country is inside the European Union.

Here we can continue to be part of the world's most successful peace project and together

we can tackle the huge cross-border issues we face, most notably climate change.

We are now the majority.

And as young people reaching voting age want to join us in improving our continent in mutual

friendship, so our numbers grow.

Now that MPs have rejected No Deal the clear choice is still between the deal negotiated

between the UK and the EU and remaining in the EU.

This choice must be given back to the people.

The hostility of the supporters of Brexit, as we see here, to such a democratic check

just proves that they are running scared.

Because they know, as I do, that the will of the British people has changed and has

turned against them and their Brexit chaos.

Toxic smog forces Thai officials to close Bangkok schools for rest of week - Duration: 2:59.

Toxic smog forces Thai officials to close Bangkok schools for rest of week

Bangkoks air quality has fallen to harmful levels with the quantity of unsafe dust particles known as PM2.5 exceeding what is considered safe in 41 areas around the capital, the countrys Department of Pollution Control said in a Facebook post.

PM2.5 are microscopic particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers in diameter that are considered particularly harmful because they are small enough to lodge deep into the lungs and pass into other organs.

The Air Quality Index, AQI, is used by cities to determine levels of air pollution; according to the World Health Organization, are considered to be acceptable for humans to breathe regularly. The AQI levels on Wednesday evening measured 175.

Boonrak Yodpetch, secretary general to the Office of Basic Education Commission, said the order for closures came from Prime Minister Prayut Chan o cha.

"[The Prime Minister] has ordered the Ministry of Education to consider closing the schools in order to mitigate the health effect," Yodpetch said Wednesday.

"[The] first action is to close down all schools in Bangkok and some schools in four to five provinces near to Bangkok ," the official continued.

He said the order would continue through Friday and that a direct result would be the reduction of vehicle traffic. All students were allowed to remain at home except for students preparing for upcoming national tests. In those instances, individual schools could decide whether to reopen.

Yodpetch added that the situation will be reassessed again on Sunday to determine if schools would stay closed next week.

The order only affects city managed public schools; private international schools operating in the capital are not compelled to close.

But at least three, the Rasami British International School, the Harrow International School Bangkok and Bangkok Patana School, opted to follow suit and have also closed for the next two days.

Earlier Wednesday, Asawin Kwanmuang, the governor of Bangkok, said the decision to close schools was made so that parents need not worry.

"When the schools are closed, parents dont have to leave homes to send their kids off to schools," Kwanmuang said.

The governor said that about 50 drones would be deployed in the Bangkok area on Thursday in a bid to ease the ongoing smog by spraying water mixed with molasses to catch the particles in the air.

Earlier this month, officials tried to resolve the poor air quality by spraying water for three days and theyre also trying to produce artificial rain, government departments have said. Authorities are also continuing to spray water from fire trucks on the capitals choked streets.

The move has prompted a mixed reaction from residents on social media platforms; some argue it would have been better for students to remain indoors at school, pointing out that the closures have forced parents to take time off work to look after children.

Others praised the decision, saying some schools lack air conditioning, or are semi open air. Keeping schools open could thus be dangerous for the children.

Poor air pollution could not come at a worse time for the countrys tourism sector, with the Chinese Lunar New Year just days away. Thailand is already struggling to win back Chinese vacationers following the in the waters off the resort island of Phuket last July.

China is the biggest source of foreign visitors to Thailand, where tourism is a major industry. Almost 10 million Chinese nationals visited Thailand last year, according to official statistics.

Bluetooth Selfie Remote Control with Camera Shutter Button for Iphone and Android - Duration: 4:09.

Bluetooth selfie remote control

This bluetooth remote shutter works for iPhone and Android devices.

The wireless camera trigger has an on-off switch on the side and a removable battery on the back.

A blue light indicates when the remote shutter is being activated.

Pairing this remote control with your phone or tablet happens the same way as with any other bluetooth device.

The phone I am testing it on is pretty old (Sony Xperia S) so the process takes a little longer than usual.

For some reason the bluetooth camera button doesn't take a picture but only activates the focus.

This may be because of the old version of Android on this phone - 4.1.2

I am repeating the test this time with a still object to see if this will work.

The selfie remote control still doesn't take a picture.

Now let's try with my newer smartphone - Sony Xperia Z5.

It uses Android 7.1.1 and this time it seems to be working properly.

iOS devices like iPhones and iPads should not have any problems since the operating system there is updated regularly.

US NEWS | Michael Bloomberg says 2020 presidential rival Kamala Harris Medicare for all would bankru

Michael Bloomberg has claimed  Sen. Kamala Harris plan to abolish private health insurance in favor of Medicare for all would bankrupt the country.

The former mayor who is considering running for the Democratic presidential nomination rejected the idea endorsed by his 2020 rival, which is gaining traction in the party.

I think you could never afford that. Youre talking about trillions of dollars, Mr Bloomberg said during a political swing in New Hampshire, where the nations first primary will be held next year.

Michael Bloomberg pictured at a political swing in New Hampshire yesterday has claimed abolishing private health insurance in favor of Medicare for all would bankrupt the country

The former New York City mayor whos considering running for the 2020 presidential election said the move would cost trillions of dollars. He proposed providing it only to those currently uninsured

I think you can have "Medicare for all" for people that are uncovered, but to replace the entire private system where companies provide health care for their employees would bankrupt us for a very long time.

While Bloomberg is considering running on a centrist position, Harris carved out a liberal platform on Monday night, telling an audience of Iowa Democrats that the United States should eliminate all private plans and move everyone to a single payer system.

We need to have Medicare for all. Thats just the bottom line, Harris said during a CNN town hall event, declaring that she feels very strongly about it.

The idea is that everyone gets access to medical care, and you dont have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require, she explained, concluding that private insurers should not be part of the system.

Senator Kamala Harris of California made her first town hall appearance as a Democratic presidential candidate on Monday, saying she wants to abolish private health insurance

Harris spoke with reporters at Drake University on Monday night after the town hall event, hosted by CNNs Jake Tapper

Lets eliminate all of that. Lets move on, said Harris.

Republicans were quick to mock what they typically call socialized medicine, something that has become more mainstream in the Democratic party since the early part of the 2016 presidential campaign cycle.

GOP spokesman Michael Ahrens tweeted a dig at Harris that also doubled as a jab at former president Barack Obamas frequent promises about his namesake health law.

Dems in 2009: If you like your plan, you can keep it, Ahrens mocked. Dems in 2019: If you like your plan, were eliminating it.

Harris is advocating a Medicare for all platform that would put government agencies in charge of health coverage; thats an approach that goes further than the Obamacare system, and had Bernie Sanders as its main advocate in 2016

Harris also defended other positions she took as Californias attorney general that are unpopular with some Democrats, saying at the Drake University event in Des Moines that they reflected her duty as the states top law enforcement officer.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper asked her about prosecuting death penalty cases, and about legislation requiring her office to investigate all fatal police related shootings.

Harris, who was attorney general from 2011 until she became a U.S. senator in 2017, said she enforced the death penalty despite opposing it.

WHO PAYS AND HOW

Each of the 13 provincial or territorial governments provides insurance called Medicare which can be used universally, with doctors or other providers billing the government insurance scheme for treatment. Saving for Retirement - Duration: 3:04.

Yoo–hoo! Jennifer!

Grandma?

How do you like my new wheels?

Ah, they look…

Dope?

They look expensive.

Grandma, I don't know how to say this, but…

What? Out with it!

It's just that you're retired, shouldn't you be not spending a lot of money at this point in your life?

Oh, I see what's going on. You don't think I can afford this!

Little do you know, I started saving for retirement when I was your age,

and a little savings know-how can go a long way.

The most popular options include IRAs, both Traditional and Roth, and then there's 401(k)s.

They're basically containers for investments, OK?

They grow your money tax-free for your retirement days.

Now they all have different limits on your yearly contributions.

This one's set up where you work, these at financial institutions.

Some have taxes on withdrawals, some have tax-free distributions, and there's pros and cons for each.

There is no obvious solution, but let's say you have limited funds.

Here's a strategy, a map, a guide, a rule of thumb: crush any credit card debt, build an emergency fund.

Then get ahead of the game by getting started while you're young.

Step One:

What's so funny?

If you have company match, it's basically free money.

So Step One: put in enough to meet your match.

Then move on to Step Two with the rest of your cash.

I mean your Roth IRA: its withdrawals are tax-free, so you'll wanna top it up before you move to Step Three!

If you have money left over, max out your Roth IRA.

Then switch back to contributions to your 401(k).

Okay, I get it… But we are talking about my retirement here, and Grandma, that's like decades away.

And, as for contributions to my Roth IRA or my 401(k), I've got bills to pay, my student loan

and other stuff that's more important today. Can't I just do it later?

Oh, you silly millennial, did you want to still be working when you reach your centennial?

Nope!

Then you gotta attack it, financially back it, and track it.

In fact, it affects your tax bracket.

The accounts that you use will give you freedom to choose when you want to "Peace out, homies!"

on a tropical cruise instead of singing the blues when you're seventy-two and

still stuck in a rut and working, paying your dues—but if instead you'd rather be like me,

you better take my advice because I'm the "OG."

That stands for "Original Granny," sweetheart!

Grandma out!

John Coughlin's father breaks down as sister comforts guests at funeral for champion figure skater - Duration: 19:51.

Late figure skater John Coughlin's sister and father battled through his funeral Tuesday, just 11 days after the champion died by suicide aged 33

The relatives were seen leaving Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri and his father Michael Coughlin couldn't fight back tears as they followed his casket before it was loaded into a vehicle

As the parent broke down and cried at the gathering of loved ones, his sibling Angela Laune comforted those around her and at one point was seen rubbing the back of an attendee

But she later admitted on social media that January 29 will always be difficult for her as it marks the day they said goodbye to the sportsman who was suspended from competing just one day before he took his own life

'Burying you today will forever be one of the toughest and saddest days of my entire life,' she posted alongside a photo of her brother smiling on Tuesday night

'Honoring your memory together with family and friends gave Dad and I some peace. We know you are with Mom now

'The goodness and joy you brought to everyone you knew echoes through the stories and memories shared by so many

The hole in my heart can never be filled, but I will look for you in the small and beautiful ways the world shows us flashes of heaven

Watch over me and Dad and we will see you some day at the big table in the sky.' Reverend Greg Lockwood was seen outside the building as grieving guests left

Several Holy Bible passages were read during the service where Coughlin's godfather read Prayers of the Faithful, including some resonating lines between the order of events, including one that read: 'Out of the depths I have cried to you, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice

' Another read: 'May the angels lead thee into paradise; may the Martyrs receive thee at thy coming…' The wake for the two-time US national pairs champion figure skater was held on Monday with a rosary at 5

30pm and a visitation service from 5.45pm to 8pm.The funeral mass was held on Tuesday at 1

30pm with the burial at Mt.Saint Mary's Cemetery in Kansas City, where he was laid to rest

His family asked for contributions can be made in his name to Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation or the Parkinson's Foundation in lieu of flowers

He had been placed under a restriction by the governing body that deals with allegations of sexual misconduct in Olympic sports

But his family say unsubstantiated rumors regarding his suspension from skating drove him to suicide

The restriction went largely unnoticed until popular YouTube channel The Skating Lesson shared a screenshot of the vague notice to Facebook on January 4

Speculation exploded online with commentators saying: 'What a surprise, another pervert coach' and compared him to disgraced serial abuser gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar - despite the fact that there didn't appear to be any evidence of Coughlin's wrongdoing aside from the words: 'Allegation of misconduct'

The situation escalated when Coughlin received an interim suspension from SafeSport, presumably linked to the same allegation as the restriction

He was barred from any activities sanctioned by the skating body or the US Olympic Committee

According to those close to Coughlin, the skater felt that he had 'lost everything'

One friend wrote on Facebook: 'Words can be just as powerful as a bullet. To John, they were just that — bullets straight to his heart

' Before his death Coughlin issued a statement about the initial restriction on January 7, three days after it was shared by TSL

'While I wish I could speak freely about the unfounded allegations levied against me, the SafeSport rules prevent me from doing so since the case remains pending,' he told USA Today

'I note only that the SafeSport notice of allegation itself stated that an allegation in no way constitutes a finding by SafeSport or that there is any merit to the allegation

' Over the past couple weeks, TSL has come under fire for posting a photo of the SafeSport restriction, despite the fact that it was already accessible to the public, because it opened the door for internet trolls to tear Coughlin down

Dalilah Sappenfield, Couglin's former coach, who was by his side when he claimed two national titles in 2011 and 2012, spoke out against the those accusing him online

The veteran Olympic coach told DailyMail.com: 'I'm an sadden with grief that a young man who was the kindest, caring, and extremely admired person hit such a low point because of the loss of all he knows

'John lost his reputation, his name, his work, his dignity and what he loved most, skating

The irresponsibility of today's social media who became judge and jury is what made this beautiful young man to take his life

'John was a very caring and selfless person.Always putting others ahead of himself

The love and support he is receiving from around the world is a testament to his positive affect of people

He was an amazing ambassador for our sport.'I've known John for over 20 years (as his coach and second family) and he didn't have a mean bone in his body

He was a beautiful soul who saw the good in everyone. He made you smile with his infectious laugh

John was a man of great integrity and just such a class act.'Everyone knows John was one of the good guys

Being shunned for allegations not proven was something I know was hard for him to live with, but the mere rumor of assault is what sent him over the edge

'My hope is that through John's tragic death, we can build awareness to bring change to the process of investigation so that both parties have their Constitution Rights to due process

' In an impassioned Facebook post, Sappenfield wrote: 'We spoke everyday just numb and shocked about how things were being misconstrued on social media

'It was so very sad and tragic for me to see his life turned upside down in a matter of weeks, to the point where he felt alone, lost, and desperate that he no longer had it in him to fight

' She scolded unspecified social media users for posting unfounded rumors online, writing: 'SHAME ON YOU for your insensitive and ignorant postings without knowing all the facts!' In another equally emotional post, a friend of Coughlin's specifically calls out TSL for being complicit in the spread of those rumors

Kandis Kovalsky wrote: 'Reading the vicious attacks lobbed against him on The Skating Lesson [comments] was beyond upsetting

People who never met John and knew none of the FACTS behind this investigation were saying some of the most vile and hateful things

TSL did nothing to monitor this content.' Kolvalsky also claimed that she was blocked by TSL after she posted comments defending her friend

In a heartfelt statement to DailyMail.com, Kovalsky said: 'I first met John about 15 years ago at University of Delaware where we trained together under Jeff DiGregorio

John and I quickly became friends; it was hard not to be friends with John.In what can be a frustrating and lonely world, John's smile and laughter were welcome

'John was a kind and gentle soul with the heart and spirit of a champion.John was a champion, a two-time US National Champion

He loved this country and represented it well in his decades in figure skating. The world of figure skating loved him back

'One of the many things that made John so special was he was not just a champion in his own right, but a champion of others – his friends and students

' To prove her point, Kovalsky provided DailyMail.com with a photo of John 'standing up with fists clenched with delight as he watches a friend perform', adding that it was 'no different than his response if his team, the Chiefs, had just run an 80-yard return touchdown

' Kovalsky continued: 'The unfortunate events of the last month do not change our memories of John

It is no coincidence hundreds of skaters have donated to the GoFundMe campaign created by Dalilah Sappenfield

'John was beloved in the skating world and always will be.Although John left this world in a cloud of uncertainty, this love for him remains certain

A quote on John's Facebook page sums him and his witty sense of humor up well: '[y]ou strap knives to your feet, velvet to your ass, fling yourself into the air, and hope to land on one foot, smiling

' 'I will always remember his smile.' Sappenfield, Kovalsky and countless Facebook users said that Coughlin wasn't afforded the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty

Kovalsky wrote: 'Accusations should be taken seriously but so should innocence. Not everyone accused is a Larry Nassar

'Unfortunately, the process Safe Sport follows by making an accusation public but with no details so as to provide some important distinguishing factors about what's actually being investigated immediately led to so much misinformation being spread around, followed by a conviction in the court of public opinion

'For John, that was too much.He wanted to be heard but couldn't be.He wasn't even allowed to be

' She added: 'I am not and never was upset at the ability of a complainant to file a report

I think the concept of Safe Sport is a good one and a much needed one.'What happened in the world of gymnastics was an atrocity and a tragedy

I am supportive of investigations and following the evidence where it leads. If, here, that led to an unfavorable result for John, then I could live with that

'What is so deeply troubling and now difficult to swallow is the fundamental unfairness of this process to accused like John in its nascent stages

A public post with no details, an indefinite timeline and essentially, a gag order

I strongly suggest that Safe Sport reconsider its process.' A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Couglin's sister Angela and father Mike cover his funeral and burial costs

It has raised more than $22,000 as of Sunday morning. The page description reads: 'On January 18, 2019 our beloved friend, mentor, student, and role model was taken from us way too soon

'John Coughlin was an ambassador to figure skating and was loved by so many around the world

John lost everything.his name, reputation, his ability to earn a living and what he loved most, skating

'Words on social media can be just as powerful as a bullet.Unfortunately, the accusations that were made public before no distinguishing factors about what's actually being investigated led to so much misinformation being spread around

'For John this was too much.He wanted to be heard but couldn't be and wasn't allowed to be

It's with such heavy heart that we will be saying goodbye to this amazingly kind soul

' Kansas City Police said that officers there were dispatched at 4.54pm on Friday to the 10900 block of Washington Street for a suicide

The address is listed as Coughlin's former residence and the house where his father lives, according to public records

'My wonderful, strong, amazingly compassionate brother John Coughlin took his own life earlier today,' Coughlin's sister said in a statement on Friday

USFS said it was 'stunned' by the news and extended 'heartfelt and deepest sympathies' to the family

The organization said it would have no further comment 'until a later time.' The International Skating Union also said it was 'shocked' and offered 'kindest thoughts' in this 'time of sorrow

'Coughlin was chair of the ISU athletes commission and a member of a technical committee

' Coughlin won national pairs championships with two partners. He teamed with Caitlin Yankowskas in 2011 and with Caydee Denney the next year

HOT | Howard Schultz is the answer no one is looking for Politics

The negative reaction has been swift and striking and somewhat surprising. See Twitter feed.

The fear is that Schultz, with his dollar 3 billion, can spend endlessly on a bid, get on ballots in every state, command attention on TV and dilute the .

"He should stick to coffee," Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who represents most of Seattle, quipped to reporters including CNNs Ashley Killough on Tuesday.

"If he wants to run, he should run as a Democrat," added the Congressional Progressive Caucus co chair. "I dont understand why hes running as an independent."

Democratic Rep. Marc Pocan, the other caucus co chair, said Schultz is "carving out the grumpy get off my lawn lane."

"He seems to be criticizing everything," Pocan said. "He wants to find his own lane to run in, but he doesnt seem, for a billionaire, to be especially astute to how politics is."

Where are the votes?

And for now, nobody except maybe Schultz actually thinks he can win the White House, .

He . For who though?

Who is the Schultz voter? Is it the kind of voter who backed Green Party candidate Jill Stein in 2016, possibly taking votes away from Hillary Clinton? Or is it the kind of voter who backed Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson in 2016, possibly taking votes away from Hillary Clinton? Or did Johnson take votes away from Trump?

President Donald Trump clearly buys the argument that Schultz, a life long Democrat, would take votes away from the Democrat. On Twitter he said Schultz didnt have the guts to enter the race i.e. please, please, please get into the race and help me in 2020.

So far, Schultzs testing of the political waters hasnt been so great.

"Dont help elect Trump, you egotistical billionaire a asterisk asterisk hole," a protester yelled at a Schultz book event in New York City Monday night. "Go back to getting ratio ed on Twitter. Go back to Davos with the other billionaire elites who think they know how to run the world. Thats not what democracy is."

This heckler suggests a few dynamics at play that will shape Schultzs political fortunes.

People either really love or really hate Trump. Its not that the middle is silent, its just not really there.

While the share of people who call themselves independents is at an all time high, the partisanship among those independents is also at an all time high. Independents lean toward one party or the other, and while they have some negative feelings toward the party they lean toward, they really hate the opposing party,.

Speaking of hate ... the class of people who isnt exactly beloved? Billionaires! Yes, Trump is a billionaire, but he ran as a cultural conservative, "blue collar" billionaire, who guaranteed no cuts to Medicare or Social Security. He ran as the "King of Debt" ... as a Republican.

Schultz is betting that there is a block of voters who are up for grabs and alienated from the party they identify with concerned about the cost of government programs and debt and deficits .

Those dont sound like Stein, Johnson or Ralph Nader type voters. They actually sound more like Republican voters, who, , are still very high on Trump and in theory care about curbing government spending.

What are the policies?

But Schultz isnt at all deterred. Are rich businesspeople ever deterred from the idea that their skills are transferable?

On ABCs "The View," Schultz, directly criticized Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, and by extension, all the Medicare for all Democrats, saying that he didnt agree with that "kind of extreme policy." No word yet on what policy he does agree with.

"If he runs against a far, left progressive person who is suggesting 60 70 percent tax increases on the rich and a health care system we cant pay for, President Trump is going to get re elected," Schultz said, raising a tax idea suggested by who is not old enough to run for President.

shows broad support for increasing taxes on families earning over dollar 1 million a year 65 70 percent support increasing tax rate for this group.

Schultz should also look at the . A majority of Democrats and independents favor various iterations of this idea. And even a majority of Republicans favor allowing people over age 50 to buy into Medicare. The one caveat on the polling: Not all Medicare expansion plans are the same and there is more support for some than for others, .

about his claim Medicare for all is "un American," Schultz offered: "Its not that its not American. Its unaffordable."

American political campaigns are littered with candidates who are media darlings, who gain little traction among voters because their base isnt real, its just been conjured up by TV talking heads. Wesley Clark, Mitch Daniels, Jon Huntsman and Bill Bradley come to mind.

The two party ticket is a similar fantasy. In reality, peoples party affiliation is very often an expression of their identity of what they like and just as importantly what they dont like.

Schultzs neither here nor there approach to the party system and the policies they represent sounds good in theory, but in reality voters are attached to party ideology, leaders and labels even if they dont like to admit it.

Hunker down Chicago Subzero temps for next 45 hours could be one of city and apos . s longest strea

Baby, its cold outside! These vintage photos prove that the Windy City has seen its fair share of chilly days.

Chicagoans might have a new appreciation for single digit temperatures because of a 40 plus hour stretch of subzero weather, according to the .

On Tuesday, Chicago is expected see a high temperature of 5 degrees at OHare International Airport. However, about 6 p.m. Tuesday, en route to lows of around minus 20.

Temperatures might not recover to zero until around 3 p.m. Thursday — a possible 45 hour stretch of that could rank among the longest.

If the forecast holds, this would be tied fifth longest such stint.

However, the highs at OHare on Thursday afternoon are expected to be close to zero, meaning if temperatures fall short of that mark, Chicagoans might have to wait an additional 12 hours until Friday morning, according to weather service meteorologist Ricky Castro.

The record remains 98 hours between Dec. 22 and Dec. 25, 1983. But Castro said hes still impressed that this could outlast the 37 hour stretch during the polar vortex of January 2014.

Its amazing that this one is going to be worse, Castro said.
