For 35 days President Trump announced a three-week spending deal with Democrats to reopen the government no funding for the wall

But Trump said it could close again in mid-february or he might use his emergency powers to start border funding

Funding for the border wall joining us now to analyze the coverage Molly Hemingway senior editor at The Federalist and a Fox News contributor

Beverly Hallberg president of district Media Group and a former television producer and Jessica Tarla of a Fox News

contributor molly new york times a stinging defeat for trump washington post a humiliating low-point Daily Caller Trump caves

Are the press and all the media organs basically writing calling this a tactical defeat for the president?

well

It it just objectively was a defeat the president tried to get a broad border security bill. Not just a barrier

Beds for for people who are coming across the border more personnel

Technology that inter deck interdict drugs 800 million dollars in asylum aid

He didn't get that so it is okay to say that he didn't he didn't do that. Of course

There is a longer story here, which is the government has been reopened

You have dozens of Democrats saying they do want to vote on this now that the government is open

So I think it's it's worthwhile to wait and see how serious people were about wanting border security how willing they are to negotiate

There was a failure at this point

But the larger issues which the vast majority of Americans seem to care about are ongoing and at some point the responsibility

Can't just lie on the president other people have to get involved come back to that one second Beverly

there was an increasingly sharp and intense media focus on the hardships being suffered by

Federal workers and their families and the impact on the economy and the air traffic system

Did that boost the pressure on President Trump to make a deal I think so and you saw the president Trump what he did he?

Tried to show his own people that he was supporting that's border security that's angel families

So it's really a battle of these two narratives and the people that are being hurt

But I do think that long term going back to what Molly was saying

Is that most Americans do want some type of border security?

So while I do think that this definitely looks like a defeat for the president and the short term

I think long term there's a lot more to come

So even though many in the media we're talking about this being a major victory

I don't think that they were focusing on the fact that in three weeks the president may get a little bit more of what he

Wants and so is the press

Celebration of Nancy Pelosi taking if the president could it be premature? Could this look very different in just a few weeks?

Well, it depends what happens

I think that people like Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn have been right on message

You know Steny Hoyer saying a border wall is not immoral. That's the wrong word to be using here

Jim Clyburn saying we're going to put together a compromise bill that it does something a smart

Wall, right that has technology and extension of physical barriers in certain places

I don't think that the media

Calling it a win and saying that he caved is wrong because that narrative will hold again if he does shut down the government

unilaterally

Calling a national emergency in three weeks

That will not

Make Republicans happy or Democrats happy and I think that using the stories about hardship and specifically what happened when FAA

Called out sick because of what did it take an hour hour and a half with LaGuardia closed

That the president suddenly was willing to come to the table there

But Mellie the president also taking some flack from the right

And coulter famously said called him like the biggest wimp ever the service president. She's an immigration hard-line HW is worse

Well, anyway, how in your opinion?

She said all right

Does this feel like a double edged loss because the president didn't make either side?

Well, this is a great example

I think of how the media do a good job at covering surface level issues, but rarely at digging deeper

This is a problem going back decades

Trump and Pelosi are not the only figures on the scene you have other people who are responsible for the failure to do what?

American voters have asked for pleaded for

demanded for decades and when you cover it just as a win or loss for Trump versus Pelosi or

Just as a horse race type thing. You see how people get away with not handling this and I think that these are

And I guess there could be some pockets where they maybe disagree a little bit but not very much yeah

About what

Well, I'm gonna see how we do with

Going through Congress don't forget national emergency is going through Congress because that already went through doctors

That's what's so ports. If you read it, it is so clear it is so perfect

I'd rather not do it not for any particular reason other than this should be easy to get approved through Congress

There's the same people that are holding it up have approved it

Just a few years ago and now all of a sudden they're not the reason they're not is because of me hate to say

Because they know they're going to lose in 2020. They'll do anything they can

They want to win

Really large structural issues that require nuanced and deep understanding that frankly

Our media just don't have and even when it comes to the players involved in this failure to secure the border

It's not just Trump and Pelosi

it's also

Senate Republicans who played a key role

Who clearly didn't want to do this fight and whether they will want to in the next several weeks will be interesting to see you

Know just days before the stop cap deal Beverly

The president backed off at giving the State of the Union an alternate side after Nancy Pelosi had said no

You're not welcome to come to the house. He said it was her prerogative all of these headlines

Just taking the Washington Post a rival who can flummoxed Trump a powerful woman named Nancy Pelosi today. The post is back again

Pelosi doesn't mess around speaker emerges triumphant

But there was far less attention to the conservative competition said it was kind of petty

To try to exclude the State of the Union

Yeah, I would agree that I think Nancy Pelosi has every right to do so

There are a lot of people talking about whether or not he should do this

of course from the Senate floor or even when I think optically would be good which is

Maybe on the border and talking to border agents and angel families

So I do think that what the media has turned this into is more of we we don't like Trump

We don't want to

Put him in a favorable light and as Molly was saying we're not getting to the nuance because I mean when you talk about immigration

This is a battle that Republicans have fought over for a very long time and I do think it's valid to ask

Why is this fight now and not in the past two years when Republicans did have the house?

Look, it's obscured by all the you score key figures

Of course that this was just not a good outcome for the country to go 35 days

And get the same deal that basically both sides could have gotten on day one

Yeah

and I think it's important to be pointing that out as journalists to talk about it in those kinds of terms instead of

saying

You know move the State of the Union to the border which turns it into a campaign rally and in the State of the Union

is the one thing happens every year that is actually supposed to be for both sides and

it does have it should have that level of

Magisterium and it should be in the house and I do think it was

Inappropriate for the president to want to do that while the government is shut down

There was pettiness on both sides from you can't come to I'm taking away your military plane

But okay, that's the point that was petting this on both sides, but it was Nancy Pelosi

I think who got all the glowing headlines. Let me move on to Roger stone as you all know

He was indicted in the Moller investigation and obstruction lying to Congress and other

Asks other charges having to do with his dealings his communications with WikiLeaks

During the campaign and trying to find out whether the more hack Democratic emails coming

So there was this incredible mob scene at the courthouse in Florida

And then after Stone proclaimed his innocence he did this media blitz. He was on Stephanopoulos this morning on Friday

He was on Tucker Carlson and also CNN's Chris Cuomo take a look. I

Never discussed this with Donald Trump so speculation tonight by Wolf Blitzer by a prima Hara

by others that Trump

Directed me to do this or directed someone to direct me to do this. So I'm going to say all that speculation is wrong

He's been saying that for a long time

but there is in this indictment sort of person 1 and person 2 and Trump campaigns or the media or like well

These must be really senior people maybe even the president but we don't know that well

And also it actually doesn't even matter who the person is because the indictment doesn't suggest anything to support the underlying

Narrative that has been pushed for several years now, which is treasonous collusion with Russia to steal the election

talking to people about

information that they have already put out and when the next batch is going to come out of negative information is not a crime if

It were the Special Counsel would have indicated that it was a crime that Roger stone a guy who is bragged about

During being a dirty trickster going back to the Nixon era was unable to be gone on anything other than process crimes

Does tell us something interesting and yes, he's a fun character to cover and yes

It's fun to see him coming out of the courthouse that way but we are as journalists

We are required to check that underlying issue was their treasonous collusion with Russia that justifies

Unsettling the campaign unsettling the administration and I'm sorry

but our media are

completely incapable of asking tough questions

Of the special counsel of the FBI of the Department of Justice and this just shows that well, these are process

Crimes, but obstruction of justice lying to Congress are also very serious crimes Jessica and the media right in there

whatever

Whatever is the mysterious dealings between Roger stone this longtime

Gadfly and Julian Assange as people. He was just trying to get a heads-up of what was coming out next

He was an informal Trump advisor. He was according to the indictment in regular contact with the Trump campaign

And now he's charged with not telling truth about this. I do think it is serious

It's not as serious as some people who want the Moller report to come out within the next twenty minutes because they can't just wait

Any more are making it out to be but as more and more

Trump associates who had a role in the campaign and then frankly have been around him for decades

Go down for this and potentially turn into

cooperating witnesses

people who want to turn a blind eye to it and continue to scream witch-hunt are looking more and more absurd and I think that's

What he's going on here and Donald Trump surrounded himself with Liars almost exclusively

It seems Roger stone is accused of that you have you know, Ricky, it's your Paul Manafort there Michael Cohen long list of them

We'll see what happens when they get really used a little more turns into then

I think what the media setting up is guilt by association if the collusion claims don't hold true

So I think that's what's happening as a whole you see either on CNN or MSNBC?

You almost have mug shot style of the people who've been indicted or convicted

Of crimes and they think they're laying out the case already that if collusion doesn't happen

We're gonna do guilt by association the media loving covering stone

I mean, he's a self-described dirty trickster who's been around forever and he goes and there's all these TV interviews

So just on the entertainment value

It's why they love the story. It's fine to cover it. It's good to cover it

But it's also true that this week we learned that there was major obstruction going on at the Department of Justice

And nobody covered it

We learned that they had claimed they had led Congress to believe that they didn't have access to the dossier until just before the election

Sworn testimony before Congress tells us they knew about meetings with Steele going back to July of the campaign

Nobody in the media cares about that

nobody cares that John Podesta

Sat next to the guy who commissioned the dossier and claimed he didn't have any idea where it came from

I agree that lying to Congress is a problem

But you have people lying to Congress all the time

Including James clapper and John Brennan and they don't get charged and so it's important that the media don't just in their hatred for Trump

Take Glee in this without thinking about these institutions of our law enforcement as well. It's been overshadowed

Let me ask you before we go

they've been lay out significant layouts at BuzzFeed and

HuffPost two places not friendly to Trump president treats axe Falls and fake news and bad journals have caused a big downturn

Making Excel Work for Your Tribal Community: Introduction to Excel Formulas - Duration: 11:47.

Welcome back to our next series on creating formulas, and as Marnee says,

it's gonna be fun! We like to say that, yes. I think that it is gonna be fun,

because, you know, this is where you really can make Excel do things for you.

You know, it's like your little assistant. And formulas are how you tell Excel what

you want it to do. So it can count, it can add, it can subtract, it could do all kinds of

things. And the great thing is, it could pull data from, you know, one spreadsheet

of different columns, or from different spreadsheets, and pull it all together

into the numbers, you know, that you need to see. And, of course, it could do

it for the reporting form as we've seen and you can look at all kinds of

things. So we're going to start off simple at first. Just, you know, how do you --

what is a formula, how do you build it -- we'll walk through some of that, and then

in our next video it's going to get even more fun. All right! Let's go! We'll have fun, too! Let's go with the fun formulas. (Don't sound so sarcastic. [Laughter])

Hello. This is Marnee Evans with the Capacity Building Center for Tribes, and this is the technical portion

of our Formula Basics video. So formulas are a really powerful way to get Excel

to do all sorts of things for you. The trick is, is that you need to know how,

exactly how to ask it. You need to give it really specific instructions on what

you want it to do, or it will just sit there and stare at you blankly,

maybe mumble something with an error message. Those of you who have spouses or

teenagers at home, you may be familiar with this, so we don't want that.

So, ultimately our goal is that Excel is going to fill in all of these reported

numbers for you, so that, as you enter them into the spreadsheets for each

month, you will get a live update of all of your totals. And when it's time to do

your reporting you can just copy them right over into whatever form you're

filling out and you're done. Super easy. But this looks a little bit busy and

intimidating to start with, so we're going to

start a little bit slower with the very basics of Excel. And we'll build up so that

you'll be able to see just how simple formulas really are once you learn how

to speak Excel's language. OK. So all formulas are going to start off with an

equal sign. So, up on the formula bar -- and there's an = sign. So now Excel

is listening. This is how you let it know that you're about to give it

instructions to do something for you. It's like saying, you know, "Siri" or "Alexa"

or "OK Google," you know, if you use your phone like that. So this tells Excel, "OK,

listen for instructions." So we can start off just by doing something super simple.

Excel can just um -- Excel can add some numbers for you. So let's say five

(whoops) five plus five. OK, and then you're going to tab -- hit the Tab key -- and

we're going to lock that in, and it comes up as ten. Which is what 5+5 is, so good job

Excel! And when you click back onto the cell, you see the value here of "10" --

that's the result of your formula -- but if you look up at the formula bar, it shows

you what the formula actually is. OK. So, but you're not really gonna use Excel to

do basic arithmetic. You know, we all have brains, we all have calculators for that. So

where Excel really gets useful is when you can take information from different

parts of your spreadsheets and count it or calculate it automatically. So, here we

have just a little example data here with some placement numbers and the

foster-care rates, and let's see. You know, we can, we could do this with a

calculator, but we could also get Excel to calculate this for us by -- just

automatically. So once again we start off with an equal sign.

OK, so now what are we going to tell Excel to do. Well, we want to know the

number of placements multiplied by the case rate. So the number of placements is

over here, and this is in cell B2. if you were with us back when we did our basic

Excel refresher, you'll recall that every cell has a cell

reference, its own unique name, which is the column B and the row, in this case,

2. So we want to type in "B2." Now we want to multiply -- the symbol for that is the

asterisk -- and then we want the case rate, which is going to be right here in C2. So

ultimately we want to say, please multiply B2 by C2 to give us our total

expenditure. And we hit Tab there and there you go. Now we go down to the next

line, and this time we want to say, this is for February, which is in B3, so we'll

say "B3 times" (whoops, and sometimes your mouse jumps

without you telling it to do that, so you have to start over, but that's OK)

plus B3, another asterisk, and the rate is in C3. OK, so and then you could

continue down the line until you hit December, which is going to be, be B13

times C13. Now, something even more interesting that Excel could do is take

information from different sheets in your workbook and combine them to do

something that you want to do. So let's say, you know, we don't want to have this

extra column here, so we'll just, we'll hide that for now. We'll delete these

formulas. So let's say you have the case rate in a

different worksheet. So let's look over here

at this sheet called "Rates." OK, right so we want the 2018 Rate, because that is

what year it is right now. So that is in cell C2. So going back here, there's an

equal sign -- get Excel to listen -- so we still want to say B2 for the January

number of placements, times, OK, now, how do we get Excel to understand that we

want it to look in a different worksheet for this, for this rate? Well the way you

do that, is you type the name of the

worksheet, in this case "rates," an

exclamation point, and then you put the cell reference. So you can see we're

saying to multiply the number that's in cell B2

of this worksheet -- multiply that

by what is in cell C2 of the Rates worksheet. And there it is. Same result.

OK, so and, once again, you can do that. Go ahead and put a couple more of these

in. B3 times Rates exclamation point C2 -- there we go -- and here we'll have March

again that will be be B4 this time, because that's what line we're on.

multiply that, Rates C2. Because the Rate isn't moving, so that's always going to

be Rates C2.

OK, and we can go ahead and format this cell to match the others, so we'll have

Currency, two decimal places, with a dollar sign. There we go. So that matches up. OK.

So, Excel can also look, not just one cell at a time, but it can look through a whole

range of cells. So using this example, let's say that you wanted to add up our

quarter two expenses, so these January through March. So we can say equal sign --

Now, the way you can add stuff in a range is by using the Sum command. That tells

it that you're adding more than just two cells at a time. So you want to add the

range of cells, can put this in parentheses, and we'll say from D2

through D4.

OK. So you see how that works. You have a command, Sum, and then in parentheses, no

space, you put the range of cells. So from cell D2, colon, to cell D4, and there it goes.

There's your total. OK. So that's kind of basics of how these

work. Oh and another trick, if you don't want

to write out a sum, is you could use the AutoSum function. This is a specific

button just for the sum, and then you'll see it's automatically trying to go across,

but we don't want that. We want it to do this. So all you have to do is

highlight that and then hit the Tab key, and you'll get

the same result. That's just a little shortcut.

OK? So I know formulas could

be a little bit intimidating when you first get started. How are you guys feeling

about it now? I'll answer that because I have to use formulas, and I've told

you before Marnee, that I wasn't comfortable -- would you please hurry up

and do the video for me -- and so now I'm already feeling better, and I'm looking

forward to the next one. That's cool! Me too, looking forward to the next one. Thank you for

getting us through this one! Thanks.

Making Excel Work for Your Tribal Community: Using Formulas - Beyond Reporting - Duration: 18:37.

Welcome back, and this is the last part for the formulas with the

additional knowledge that I think you'll really find interesting and useful, and I'll turn that over to you. ...

OK, so this time we're going to be looking at a little more data analysis,

and it's going to be things that you just want to know about your kids in your

program. For example you could look at your kiddos who are age 0 to 5,

and you could divide it out between how many girls you have versus how many boys

you have, or any other kind of information -- how many kids from a

certain age come from a certain community -- anything like that. So, anything

you could think of, really, Excel can do with these formulas. So, it's like taking data from two columns? Is that what you're doing? Yeah, exactly,

two factors. So it could be, like, age and gender, gender and a location,

community -- anything -- type of placement, you know, whatever you need to know about, you

know, your, your population. That's what Excel can show you, if you know how

to ask it. That's great! Secrets. You can get the secrets out. That's right. Sounds good. I'm ready to go.

Hello. This is Marnee Evans with the Capacity Building Center for Tribes, and we are back one more time to

talk about formulas. So now we're going to look at slightly more complex

formulas. they're not really more complex. They're just looking at more than one

piece of information at a time. So, as you recall from our last video (hopefully), we

can use the Countif function to look in --

so Countif to look in any of our worksheets, worksheet Name and then the

range of cells, for cells meeting our criteria -- so in this case, Phys* for

Physical Neglect.

So, what if we want to look at more than one criteria at once? For example, if we

go down here, we could see that the person using this worksheet would like

to know some information about the range and Gender of the kids who have reports

come in. So we want to look at Age 0 to 5, Age 6 to 10,

Age 11 to 15, and then Age 16 to 18. And how many Male, how many Female, how many

boys and girls for each age range. OK, so Excel can do this, no problem at

all, but you need to be able to tell it how to look for two pieces of

information and then only count, give you the count for entries that meet, cases

that meet, both of those criteria. So we're going to look for, here we're going to

look for boys who are age 0 to 5. OK, so how are we going to do that? Well, first

let's see where that information lives in our spreadsheet. So let's go over to

our January spreadsheet, Jan 2018, and this time we are going to look at

these two columns, Age and Gender. So we see Age is in column E and Gender is in

column F. OK, and that's going to be consistent through all of our

spreadsheets. OK, so we can go back and, for January, and here I should have

followed my own advice from earlier and frozen this so that we can see when we

scroll down -- let's go ahead and freeze the top row by going to View, Freeze

Panes and then Freeze Top Row. OK, great. So that keeps the month up top, so that

we can still know where we are. OK. So once again, like with all formulas, we

start off with an equal sign to tell Excel to pay attention, because we want it

to go do something for us. OK, so are we going to use the Countif formula again,

because we want it to count something? Sort of. Excel needs a little bit of a

heads-up that what you want it to do is look for more than one thing. So

Countif, Countifs. OK, so they're basically just making it a plural. It

doesn't make grammatical sense. Don't worry about that. The Countifs is how you tell

it that you're going to want it to look for two sets of criteria. OK, so once again,

we're gonna need to put the range and criteria into parentheses just like

usual. So we are going to say that we want it to look in January 2018, so Jan

2018 -- don't forget these single quote marks on both ends around the sheet name --

and then a little exclamation point, and then the cell range. So we said that, well

see, we'll start with Age, so we said that that was column E , so we'll say E2

through E500. And like we mentioned in the last video, this range could be

whatever you want it to be. You should definitely start with E2, because that's

where our actual data's going to start, underneath the header row, but you could

go as far down as you want. You know, every tribe, every program gets different

numbers of reports. So, if you are a program that's getting more than 500

reports a month, well honestly you probably want to get a data system. But

you can expand that to be, you know,

go down to E1000, E2000, whatever you want it to be.

We'll stick with E500 right now, because I know there are not more than 500

entries in there. OK, so we have that. So now we're going to put our criteria. So

in this case, it's going to be Age and it's going be a number. So how do we tell

Excel that we want Age 0 to 5? Well, we can't put in -- I mean I guess we could

make it look individually for Age 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 -- but it's

going to be a lot easier to tell it just to look for something that is less than 6.

So any child who is under 6, which means 0 through 5, we want them to

count. OK, so we're going to close the quote marks there on our criteria.

OK, so now how do we put the second bit of criteria? Well, we're going to separate

that with a nice little comma, and you can tell, as soon as I put the comma in, it

gives you a little formula for how you're gonna put in the second one. So

it's just the same as the first. We still want it to look in Jan 2018 (whoops, I

forgot my space there), 2018, close that, close those individual single quote

marks, going to have our exclamation point, and then we want our cell range. OK, so

we don't want it looking in E2 through E500 again, because that's Age, so we

remember that Gender was in column F. So we're going say F2 through F500. Those

are the cells that we want it to look at to find out

how many of these kids are boys. So in this sheet, to say Gender we use Male or

Female, so we're going to have, in quotation marks, anything that is Male and then close

those parentheses. OK, let's review, make sure this all looks good. So, we have, OK,

go look in January 2018 in cells E2 through E500,

and Excel is going to count anything, any number that is less than 6, so anything

that is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 will be counted and nobody over that.

OK, and then it's also going to look for how many of these kids who are under

6 are also Male. So January 2018, good, F2 through F500 (because that's where the Gender

is), and we want it to look for Male children. OK, let's see if this works. Hit the Tab

key. All right. Nine kids, we have nine boys who are age 0 to 5. Whoo. OK.

So that seemed like a lot of work, but it really, you know, it really is not all, any

more complicated than what we were doing up here.

We're just adding a second set of criteria. And, just like we did in the

last video, we can Copy (whoops, sorry about that, go back to Home), so we can

Copy this formula, hit Tab, and -- let's do it this way -- Paste that in. Now it's the

same number, because it's still counting January, but what we could do

(we're just going to cheat a little bit here to make our lives easier, because I don't

want to sit and type all these formulas over and over and over again -- that is

really a waste of time and very tedious, and we'll make more mistakes that way), but

you could just change both of the Jan 2018s to Feb 2018 to tell it to look in

the February, our nice little February tab here, and all your other information is

the same, because we have all the same columns and same headers throughout our

workbook. OK, so hit, and we see we had in February 10 boys who were aged 0 to 5.

OK. Pretty cool. Yeah. We can do the same.

Remember, always hit Tab whenever you're trying to do this. Don't hit the, don't try to click

with your mouse on the new cell or Excel will be very unhappy. We could just

change the February here to March, and we see that we had seven little boy kiddos

who were aged 0 to 5 in March. And, just like we did up here, we can use the

AutoSum function to add these up and say that we had 26 for the entire quarter

here. OK. So that's the basics, and let's see. Well we're also going to want to do

this for the girls. So, again, we can cheat a little bit here.

Copy, hit Enter to go down one, and then I'm going to Paste that formula. OK, so we

see that we do still want it to be January, look at January. It's going to be

the same Age range, because we still want the kiddos who are under 6. And then, all

we really want to change is Male to Female. OK?

And we see that we had 11 girls in January who are aged 0 to 5. It's

probably easier to do it like this, so we can take the February formula, Paste that

in, and do the exact same thing -- just change Male to Female -- 11 girls there, too.

Yep, that was February. Good good. And then I could do that with March, Paste

that into the formula bar, so everything in March, under 6, March. We want to look for

girls instead of boys. We just change that, and we had eight girls 0 to 5

in March. And then we go and we do our AutoSum. So we see there's a sum, the Sum

function, and the cell range is F21 through H21. We see, yes, that's exactly

what we want to add. Hit Tab, and there's a total of 30 girls 0 to 5 in the

second quarter. OK, so hopefully, that is pretty straightforward and, again, you can

do this with any criteria. You could do it with three pieces of information, for

however many you want. You could look at, you know, how many of these boys aged 0

to 5 had a Neglect allegation, how many of them had siblings or were recurring

cases. You know, you could break out this data any way that you want to. All you have to do

is give Excel the right criteria to go find you the information that you want

to be able to see. And everything just follows the same formula.

OK, so hopefully that is pretty easy and understandable. And again, we have a

nice cheat sheet reference guide that is available on the Tribal Information

Exchange and will give you the formulas that you can walk through, and, if you

have any specific questions or want some additional assistance, you can feel

free to email us at any time at the email address you see on the screen.

Thank you so much for your time and hope that this was helpful.

OK, so that looked complicated, but ultimately it's, it's not that bad. Can you guys think of anything else

that you might want to, any other kinds of things you might want to look at using

these kinds of formulas? I can think of, with ICWA, that tribes might need to know

where their children are, in what cities and how many in Seattle, how many in Los

Angeles, how many in Minneapolis, and be able to track those children and their

conditions, their situations -- particularly if they, if tribes choose not to take

jurisdiction. Their children are still out there in the jurisdiction of other

states and tribes, cities. But knowing where they are -- whether it's on or off

reservation -- this would be a great tool. I was thinking also you might want to know

which ones are with relative placements and which ones are in state care, or really

breaking it down to where the kids actually -- they're in care, but

where are they in care. And that would be really

useful. It would. OK. And hopefully you are all thinking of some great things

that you are going to look at in your data. I did want to say one thing, Marnee: I think

this is one of those, after during the three about formulas, it would be great

to just tell the folks again, you know, our support email address, just if they

have little questions. Because you helped me, and it was the sign issue, you know, in

the formula -- just changing a sign or you put the wrong cell and, you know, to refer

to -- so I think this would be a great time to just say that one more time. That is

true, so any time, any place, you can email us, and we'll get back to you as soon as

possible. And you'll see that email address on the

screen. All right. We're ready to go to the next series.

Making Excel Work for Your Tribal Community: Using Drop-Down Lists for Data Entry - Duration: 9:45.

Our next series is going to be on the drop-down list. I think you're going to find

this really interesting. Thank you. I'm kind of

excited about this video, because I think it gives the agency some real data

consistency and accuracy, because if you have several workers typing in on a

spreadsheet, because it's all text entry, you're not going to have everyone matching

on every value. So what you can do is decide that you want this column to have

a drop-down list, and you pick the values that make sense to go into that

drop-down list. And, so, we'll just take, for instance, if you want to know what,

who the source was for the report that came in. So it could be a tribal member,

it could be anonymous, it could be from another department, and those three

values could be your actual drop-downs. So everyone that uses the spreadsheet is

going to pick from those three drop-downs, and then you can pull data and

statistics from it. Right, that will prevent, you know, that one worker who just

types in "Steve," and, you know, what do you do with that? Right. That's not going to be

helpful. So, and with any column, you can select, you know, if you want to put a

drop-down list. And make, you know, whatever makes sense to put a drop-down

list. It also makes it a lot -- a little bit -- at least, faster, I think, to enter the

data, because you just have to pick your choice and go, you know, less typing. Right. Now this

doesn't say that you still don't need to do quality control on your data, because,

you know, the data is only as good as what you've entered in. So if you've

skipped across the drop-down and you had the information already, but you

decided not to put it in, that's where a supervisor, or someone, needs to say, "Hey,

we're missing some data here." Yeah. Are you all ready to get started? I

am! Are you excited? Yes! Let's go!

Hello. This is Cheryl Montoya again with the Center for

Tribes. Today in this micro-learning video, if you've clicked in, you're going to

learn how to create a drop-down list for a spreadsheet. So, um, drop-down lists in

spreadsheets are so awesome because it helps for the data to be consistent. So

let's look at Method here, just for instance. The method of an intake coming

in, um, I can think of about four different ways. It could come in by phone, which is

usually the, the most prevalent, but it could come in by someone coming in

office, so it could be in person. It could come through the mail, or you could find

out because you're out on a field visit. So, if you have more than one worker

working on a spreadsheet, because of human error or because of just how

people see things, they may put, let's say they want to put In Person, and they're

typing it in, so they may not put a blank in between "In" and "Person," so they put in

"Inperson" altogether, where another worker would put "In Per," just to abbreviate

it. So what you have there is you have different data. And having different data

doesn't work when you want to start counting your data and be consistent

with your data. In later, later videos you can watch how to put in formulas. It's

really important to have consistent data. So today what we'll do is, let's build a

couple of drop-downs. We'll do, maybe two. Let's do Method first. And what I'm going

to do first is, I'm going to highlight and I'm just going to click down, and I'm

going to say, for February, gosh, I wouldn't imagine we'd have more than 50 come in,

50 intakes. OK. So I just highlighted that area there. The other thing I want

to do is I want to build another worksheet just for the values.

OK? So I'm gonna right-mouse click and Rename it, and I'm going to put in Values here --

and right up here, we'll start putting in the values. And what I'll typically do is

I put it in alphabetical order. It just makes it a little bit easier. So those

four that we talked about, we're going put in Field Visit -- I'll go ahead and pull

and make that a little bit bigger -- In Person, ah, what was the other one, by Mail,

and then by Phone. So these will be the values that show for that particular

area. OK, so let's go back over to February here, where we've got it, right

here. And what you're gonna do is you're going

to click on this Data tab. So, usually you're at Home. You're going to click on

Data, and right over here. Now remember this is 2018 that we're looking at. But

what if you have an older version? You're just going to see Data Validation right

away. OK. So I'm going to click on Data Validation, and it's going to pull up this

box. So -- Allow -- we're going to pick List. All right. And then we're going to pick the

source of the data. OK, so we're going to click on this little red thing right

here, here (oops), and we're going to click to Values,

and it put in the values for us right here. So we click OK. Now notice I just

want to put this out there: You can put in an Input Message to give people a

direction on, "Please enter the correct," you know, "one of these drop-downs here," so

you can play around with that. Error Alert: If they try to type in, you

could stop them and say, "You must fill in" or "You must select one of these." We're

not going to do that today. That's not the intent of this drop-down list. We're

going to click OK. "And notice we're back on February, and we're in the cell, and

here's our Field Visit and In Person, Mail and Phone. So it can be consistent. Let's

do one really, one more really quick. We're gonna do gender that's a real

quick one I'm gonna go down and highlight to 50. Some people just do the

whole column. I just pick pretty much what, what I think I'm going to need. So

again (oop), I do it alphabetical, just to keep it that way.

OK, and going back to February, we're going to click on Data Validation

we're going say List, right there, go over to our values and pick these two, and it

puts it right in there. And click OK, and here we've got Gender, Female or Male. So

this will get you started doing drop-down lists. Abuse and neglect type -- it

could be physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse. This could be, you know,

possibilities for here. And, Intake Accepted -- yes or no -- Screen Out Reasons. The more

drop-down lists you do, the more consistent your data will be, and your

workers will have to fill in less just to put in text. So I hope this helps you

get started. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. We'd really love

to help you. And be sure and check out our other micro-learning videos

on how to put in simple formulas and more complicated formulas. Take care!

Drop-down lists, those are really exciting. I thought they were pretty fun to do,

pretty easy. What'd you guys think? Yeah, I thought you made it sound really easy,

and it, it was good to be able to practice it, too, so that really was helpful. I've got, like, images of drop-down lists that

include two and three tribe-member children, multiple tribal courts and

jurisdictions, involved multiple extended family members who are available or

contactable for placement and a variety of things. I mean it's just, drop-downs are,

if there's anything that can incorporate extended Indian families, it's a

drop-down list.

(Laughter)

OK, so are we ready to move on to our next, next fun ... I think we're ready to move to the next series. I hope you come with us.

Making Excel Work for Your Tribal Community: Introduction - Duration: 6:51.

Hello and thank you for honoring us with your time today. On behalf of the Center

for Tribes, we want to welcome you to our Learning Series. So, I want to thank all

of you for being here to share your knowledge and experiences, thank you so

much. So what are the most common questions that are asked. Well, around data,

a lot of folks really want to know about how they can manage their data more

efficiently and more easily in the program. Or how can we collect data more

meaningful to our communities and avoid the catch-up of report deadlines.

Ah, the answers to these questions seem to be as individual as each individual tribe.

For many programs, it looks like Excel has been very useful in enhancing their data

management system. Tribal child welfare programs tend to collect data and manage

data in one of three ways -- either with paper records and files, or spreadsheets, or with data management systems.

All right. So then if a program is storing

their records with just paper or spreadsheets, what are some of the issues

that come up? Well, data could be entered inconsistently sometimes.

Staff in various program components, from CPS to foster care through permanency,

tend to collect data in their own individual ways, so that they don't

relate to each other. Right. And then, also, gathering data for reporting is very

time-consuming. To be competitive in writing grants and accessing resources,

having accurate and comprehensive data is critical. All right.

Well, it sounds like using an enhanced Excel sheet can really help people with their programs

and these different issues. Yeah, I think it really can,

I mean -- you know, data's only as good as what you put into it. But Excel can be a

really helpful tool in managing it. And the best thing is that most people

already have it on their computers. It was just part of the regular Microsoft

Office suite of products. So, you know, check your computer -- it's probably there

now. Right . And when we talk about enhancing that spreadsheet, you get to

add cool features like drop-down lists, formulas that can help you count your

data a lot easier. It makes the process of reporting a lot faster and easier, as

well. It also makes your data consistent and accurate. So, if you're

currently using paper records, an Excel spreadsheet can help you make your data

more reliable, accurate and comprehensive.

Some of you may recognize this BIA reporting form. If you use an Excel

spreadsheet, you can save hours and days of time getting accurate information

into this form. So, just imagine that you have all of your data in one Excel file

that can do all the reporting for this. Just like Patty said, it's going to make

it a lot easier and faster and more reliable. And what would take days, or

hours and days, is literally reduced to minutes. That sounds pretty cool to me.

Hopefully, it sounds cool to everybody who's watching with us, too. So, the rest of

this Learning Series -- all the other videos -- are going to really focus on

building an intake spreadsheet -- something you would use to log your CPS

reports, things like that. That's just to make it a little less overwhelming,

because there are just an infinite number of things you could do with Excel

in your program. And then we're also going to use formulas and focus on these

BIA reporting numbers that Patty was just

showing us. My guess is that, along the way, Excel spreadsheets will help folks

find a more accurate way to reflect things like traditional values, family

relationships and community.

If this sounds like something that might help your program, I want to invite you to walk with us through this series.

Together we'll cover everything you need to know about Excel and, uh

many of the program data that will help it to be more efficient. So this is really going

to be an interactive learning journey. So your first step will be to open Excel on

your computer, and then you can either look at a blank workbook, or you can

download the partially set-up template file that we've provided. And a really

logical place to start would be to do beginner and either intermediate

Excel skills. It can be a review for you or it can be brand new, but we want you

to be comfortable using those skills. Then we'll walk you through setting up

your case files and drop-down lists to enhance your information and make more

accurate, meaningful collection of data. Then we're also going to look at some

Excel formulas that are going to make reporting much faster and easier.

And finally, we'll look at what else you can do once your data is organized.

For example, you could visualize your data to show it to other people with Excel

charts. You can share data to support and reflect traditional values, family

relationships and community. Yes, and there's also steps you can take to use

that data to manage and improve your program. And if you ever have any

questions or you're feeling stuck on something, you can email us anytime. Yes,

we're happy to help. Thank you for joining us and good luck on your

learning journey.

Making Excel Work for Your Tribal Community: Basic Excel Skills - Intermediate Refresher - Duration: 14:35.

Welcome to Intermediate Excel. This is our opportunity

to move to the next step of of learning what you can do that will be really

helpful for you. Yeah, this is just a little bit beyond the basics. So we'll

talk about some things like adding new worksheets and how to rename them.

We'll talk about sorting and filtering your data, which can be a great way to be able

to look at things different ways. And we'll talk a little bit about protecting

yourselves, so that you can't mess it up once you have achieved your perfection.

Sounds good to me. Let's go!

Hello! This is Marnee Evans with

the Capacity Building Center for Tribes. And welcome to our Excel Intermediate

Skills Refresher. So we're going to be talking about a few Excel skills that

are just a tiny bit more advanced than what we covered in the Basics video. And

these are some skills that are going to be really useful as we continue on

with building your intake spreadsheets and doing drop-down boxes and formulas.

So, this is just an overview for now, but as you move along in the series, I would

also encourage you to come back at any time and review this video, or review the

reference guide that goes along with it -- anytime that you want a little -- little

mini-refresher on this. OK. So let's start off with how to add a column. Now

you might think, "Why would I need to add a column?" We have kind of an infinite

supply of them here, stretching on for hundreds, maybe thousands, of columns.

But you might want to put a column in between two columns you already have,

just to keep the right flow going in your spreadsheet. So let's see: We have

some information on our child here, and we have Child Name, we have their Age

and their Gender, but what if you suddenly thought, "Gosh, I really wish

we had the actual date of birth in here. That makes sense, right? Not just their

age, but their date of birth. And I don't want to add that way over here, because

that doesn't really make sense." Naturally, we would want to enter that information

over here. So what we're going to do is, we're going

to add a column right here in between Child Name and Age. And we're going to do

that by clicking on the column to the right of where we want our new column to

be. So you're going to click up here in the little gray header area where it says "D."

Click to highlight that column. Now you're going to right-click to bring up

this little menu. And we're going to go down to Insert. Click on that and there

is a brand new shiny column right in between Child Name and Age. So the new

column is always going to go to the left of the column that you're clicking in. So

you'll keep that in mind, when you're figuring out where you want it to go.

OK, and we can put DOB in there. That's a pretty universally understood

abbreviation. And then, we don't really need that column to be that wide, so we

can go up here into the gray area again, and we're going to grab the edge of this

column. Once you see that little side-to-side arrow, click and hold, and

just pull it in to make that a little bit narrower. OK. Fantastic! So the next

thing we're going to look at is how to add a whole worksheet. So, of course, as we

covered in the Basics video, this Excel file is a workbook, and workbooks could

have any number of worksheets that you want. And as we build this

intake file, we're going to probably want to add more sheets, because it could get a

little bit unwieldy to have all of your cases in one sheet for the whole year. So

you might want to do a sheet for every month. So we're going to go down here. And we see

we have Sheet 1 -- that's what we start with -- and then there's a little plus sign

right next to it. OK, so that says "New Sheet," so we're going to click on that and

there's a new sheet. And we could rename this sheet by

right-clicking right there on the bottom where it says "Sheet 2." Go to Rename. Then

backspace to get rid of the Sheet 2, and then you can type whatever you want it

to be. So let's say this would be our sheet for February. We could go back to

sheet number one and rename that "January."

OK. So we have January, February, and we have our column headers. So what about

these cells -- all these cells where we're going to be entering data? You know, most

of them are fine just being a general format, but occasionally you might want

to format them in a different way. And by formatting -- well, you know, we have your

typical formatting, which would be -- you know, you could make this bold, center

it -- you know, that looks kind of nice -- but you could also do special formatting

in Excel. And to do that, you highlight the cells that you want to have the

format in, and then you right-click and go to Format Cells. And you can see that

we have a number of categories here. So General is just general formatting, you

know, just plain text. You could have it formatted as a specific number with

decimal places (this is great if you're doing like a financial spreadsheet). What

we're going to look at is the date. And we're going to do this over in the Date

Received column. So this will keep everything a little more consistent,

because you're going to have it format the dates in the way that you want

it formatted. So you have a bunch of different options here, ways that you

could format the date. The most common one is up at the top.

So that's just the month, the day and the four-digit year. So we're going to go

ahead and pick that. OK. So what that's going to do is, when we go

into this column -- so this is the spreadsheet for January -- so let's say

that this report was received on January 2nd. So we can type this any way that we

want. We could just say "Jan 2," Tab and it automatically formats it for us. It's a

nice "1/2/2018." Let's say we get another one that's, you know, on the 14th. So 1/14

and it automatically just puts in the year. So you could type it really quickly

any way that you want, and that is going to format it for you, so that it keeps

everything in the same format and your spreadsheet doesn't look like a mess. OK,

so we've put some dummy data in here. This is just all made-up stuff, but

the purpose of this is that we could talk a little bit about sorting and filtering.

Because sometimes you're going to want to look at data other than in the

chronological order (which is probably how you're gonna put it in, right?) and

you're going to want to say, "You know what? Let's look at -- I want to sort this -- sort

all these cases by the type of abuse or neglect." OK, so how are we going do that?

So, we're gonna go over, we're going to click anywhere in here, and then we're going to go over to Sort & Filter

up here. Now this may be, again, somewhere else if you're using a

different version of Excel, so you may need to hunt around a little bit, but it

won't be hard to find. And you're going to look for icons that look like this. So,

Sort A to Z, or lowest to highest, or sort Z to A. And that works with both letters

and numbers. So let's say Sort A to Z. So that is sorting all of these neglect and

abuse types by alphabetical order. So we have all our neglect cases

together, all of our physical abuse cases together, and our sexual abuse cases all

grouped together. And that kind of gives you a picture, a quick picture of how many

you have of each type. OK, so let's say you just want to look at the neglect

cases. For that we would use a filter. So, you could click Sort & Filter, go to Filter, and

you'll see, as we turn that on and off, these little drop-down boxes appear in

the column headers. So once we activate the filter, then we can filter at any time

just by clicking in this little drop-down box in the column header that we

want to filter by. So you'll see here, here's another way you can sort,

and then you can go and select whichever one of these you want to see. So, we said

we wanted to do neglect, so we'll unselect All to get rid of the check boxes, and

then we're going to check just the one that we want. So there's Neglect. We say

OK and you'll see that it removed everything that was not a neglect case.

Now, don't worry, all that data is still here. It's here in these. It just hid them

here in these little rows, right here. So when we're done looking at this, we could

go back up into the little filtering drop-down box, select All again, and there

are all of our cases, safe and sound. OK. So the last thing that we're going to

talk about is protecting your worksheet. So this is really important when we get

into formulas, because formulas -- and also the drop-down menu values -- it could be

really easy to mess those up without meaning to, without even knowing how you

did it. You can break a formula. I do it pretty much every day. And the last thing

you want is, you know, your worker coming to you suddenly panicked

because they broke the formula in the reporting spreadsheet and nobody knows

what to do. So what you can do is go to Review, and then you can protect either

the whole workbook -- which is good if you only want certain people to have access

to it -- or you can protect a certain sheet, so the sheet with your formulas in it or

the sheet with your drop-down menu values in it, you will click on this and

then you will put in a password, and nobody can make any changes to that

without knowing the password. Now, you really want this to be a password that

you're gonna remember, because if you forget it, you're never going to be able to

unlock this worksheet. You know, that's just how Excel is. There is really no

workaround to that other than knowing it, so make sure that it is a very easy

password that you're going to remember. Yeah, we'll cancel that. We don't actually want

to work with it right now. OK, so that is our Intermediate Excel Skills

Refresher. I hope it was useful to you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to

email us. We're always happy to help, and we will see you in our next video on

Building Your Intake Spreadsheet. Thanks so much. OK, so how was that for

everybody? Well learning how to protect your worksheets are really important.

I've had those times where I've lost things, and it's not a good time. It can save a

lot of tears, that is for sure. Yeah so knowing how to do that was really

helpful. I think the filtering too is really

important because when one set of workers may need just specific data, not

every row or every column, but just specific data, so filtering really helps

in that. I think that the addition of worksheets

assists with the, the differences in the workload of each staff person, so that

the options for, at every level, from removal and interventions, as well as

court orders there, there can be choices about worksheets that contain the data

for each milestone of placement. That's right. So moving forward, I think we're

going to talk about that next -- our next video, how do you build your spreadsheet,

what do you put in it? You know, that's kind of the, that's the

building blocks that we're, that we're aiming for now. Sounds like a good place

to go next.

And if you're still not convinced let me throw in another free bonus!

Thats right!

Believe it or not I'm going to give you my Top 12 Tips On How You Can Help Save Our

Oceans Today!

If you want to have a greater impact!

This easy to read guide will show you exactly what you can do to right now to start making

a positive change, and all for $0! Thats 6 free gifts that I'm giving you when you

signup for your T-shirt to make a difference on the oceans today.

For free…right?

And I mean think about the surges of joy, the fulfillment and the feelings of accomplishment

you're going to have every single time you put on this T-shirt, knowing the productive

impact that you made not only for the dolphins, but for the whales, the turtles, the entire

oceanic environment as a whole.

The complete aquatic system and all of the life that comes with it.

Just like Ann said after joining us " I saw immediate results, my biggest win from

signing up was understanding how the marine system works and knowing what us humans can

do to help!

She said that being a primary school teacher, she was able to confidently teach her students

about the oceans!

And honestly wouldn't have been able to do this without Sydney and her amazing team,

thank you!"

No, no thank you Ann!!

And thank you for making this investment with us today, we appreciate it, we know that you're

a difference maker and since you've made it this far I know you want to say this with

me, indulge me if you will…

"I made a difference!"

Doesn't that feel good?

When Robert received his first T-shirt he told us "I feel like a whole new person!

When I go into my closet and choose what to wear in the morning I have a hard time not

choosing this T-shirt because when it's on my back I feel truly proud, I feel so satisfied

in knowing that I did something great for this world, for our oceans!

And Care4Corals welcomed me into their team as if I was a family member and I couldn't

be more grateful!"

We're so happy for you Robert, just like we will be for you when you make this investment

with us today, and I know you will, I know you're here with me, I know you're thinking

about it, so just take action now and bask in the feelings of accomplishment that you're

going to have as soon as you click that order button.

And wouldn't you agree that acting now would be better than not acting at all?

I mean what's the cost of inaction for our oceans, right?

If we do nothing, we are only hurting ourselves, and we're not talking about generations

and generations from now, we're talking about this generation.

We will begin to feel the effects first hand, us, ourselves and our countries, and thats

what we're offering to help prevent.

And if you really think about it, you'll realize that money can be replaced, but time

can never be replaced… it's only a matter of time.

Wow… and I mean if we don't act now than the time will takeover and nothing will be

left!

So you're here right now investing this time with us right?

Which I'm grateful for by the way, I'm immensely grateful for it and that's how

I know you want to make a difference, don't you?

If you answered yes to those questions, I want to reward you!

When you complete this short form right now today, you're also going to get a free consultation

with one of our team members, which we can connect you to the top leading programs around

the world, so you have a chance to experience real life, hands-on, marine conservation!

And I'll give it all to you for free, but only when you fill out this form now guys,

because this offer won't be here tomorrow, just like our reefs won't be here tomorrow

unless we do something about it now right?

And remember the free private consultation and all of the other stuff I already promised

you but I want you to remember, the artificial reefs you're contributing to right now will

provide immense benefits for marine animals, which of course, now you know affects you

and everyone around you.

But like I said before we cannot build these artificial reefs without you, we need you,

the turtles need you, the dolphins need you too!

You're the backbone of this entire operation and thats why I'm so grateful to have you

listening right now!

And if you think about it, the most valuable things in life are usually the most helpless…right?

So they need people like you in their life to protect them!

Right?

Because you want to make a positive impact on this planet and change the world for the

better, then I know you'll take action right now won't you?

Yes of course you will!

You wouldn't be watching this video if you didn't want to help make a change.

And without people like you, contributing and making a difference like you are, the

world would be in a much worse state, and that's why I thank you for being such a

difference maker.

So I have one last question for you; wouldn't you agree that it's worth the $79 bucks

to know that you successfully made a positive impact towards our oceans, our habitats, our

environments, our world?…Absolutely!

Absolutely.

So I thank you, I commend you, I think you're an incredible person for changing the world

with us and I will see you on the other side!

Thank you so much.

Lakers Roster & Lineup if Anthony Davis Traded for Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma | Heavy.com - Duration: 6:22.

Lakers Roster & Lineup if Anthony Davis Traded for Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma | Heavy.com

The day Los Angeles Lakers fans have waited all season for has finally arrived, as Anthony Davis made it known he wants a trade on Monday.

While the New Orleans Pelicans star is looking to be moved, the start of the talks for the Lakers didn't begin quite how many fans had hoped, though.

As ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski revealed, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, Davis' agent, informed the Pelicans that the All-Star would not sign a contract extension and wants to be dealt.

In turn, this opens the door for the Lakers to make their move for Davis and potentially offer a blockbuster deal.

"Anthony wants to be traded to a team that allows him a chance to win consistently and compete for a championship," Paul told ESPN.

"Anthony wanted to be honest and clear with his intentions and that's the reason for informing them of this decision now.

That's in the best interests of both Anthony's and the organization's future.".

The only problem is that the original thoughts/hopes around a Lakers-Pelicans trade for Davis have already had a bit of cold water thrown on them.

In the early stages, it seemed the Lakers could have a chance to make a push for Davis with a package built around Brandon Ingram.

That apparently no longer seems to be the case, as the Pelicans are reportedly demanding far more.

Pelicans' Trade Demands From Lakers for Anthony Davis.

As Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times reported, the Lakers would need to "start" a deal with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and a No.

1 draft pick.

As far as what it would take beyond that, it's set to remain a hot-button topic.

Hearing from sources if Lakers want Anthony Davis, who has requested a trade, LA has to start the deal with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, No.

1 pick.

  — Brad Turner (@BA_Turner) January 28, 2019  .

Obviously, this is just the early stages of talks, but it's a huge haul and one the Lakers may not consider.

On the other hand, the team has made it known how big their push for a second star to pair with LeBron James will be moving forward.

So, it's anyone's guess as to how the front office is looking at this possible deal.

If the Lakers were to take this deal for Davis, it would leave them with a shortage of depth, although there are options in free agency to fill out the roster.

One of which, of course, is Carmelo Anthony, who's consistently been linked to the Lakers.

Let's take a look at how the potential blockbuster deal could leave the Lakers roster, although it's worth noting that there is surely more negotiating to be done beyond this.

Lakers Roster & Lineup Post-Blockbuster Anthony Davis Trade.

Position Expected Starter Backup   Center Anthony Davis Tyson Chandler JaVale McGee Power Forward LeBron James Michael Beasley Moritz Wagner Small Forward Brandon Ingram Josh Hart   Shooting Guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk   Point Guard Rajon Rondo Lance Stephenson  .

The Lakers would certainly lose quite a bit of depth, but the biggest impact would come after the season.

Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Beasley, Tyson Chandler, and JaVale McGee are all currently in the final year of their deals.

Even with the above depth chart, the Lakers would be able to add a few pieces this season and instantly become a major title contender.

From there, the front office would essentially need to begin a rebuild around James, Davis, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart.

Fortunately, Los Angeles would be an even more appealing destination than previously, as the championship chances for the Lakers increase drastically, even with losses of Ball, Kuzma and Zubac.
