Waching daily Sep 26 2018

Manchester United limped out of the EFL Cup at Old Trafford, losing 8-7 on penalties to Frank Lampard's Derby

The Rams held United to a 2-2 draw in normal time - and could have won it had Marouane Fellaini not forced spot kicks with a 95th-minute header

Mourinho is under increasing pressure to get results at United but their Premier League title challenge has already stuttered

They are already eight points off league leaders Liverpool and have won just three of their opening six games

And the ongoing woe at Old Trafford has supposedly put Mourinho in the firing line - if the bookies are anything to go by

Coral currently have Jose Mourinho as the 3/1 favourite to get the boot first among the Premier League's managers

The Portuguese boss has slipped back to favourite, overtaking West Ham's Manuel Pellegrini, who is now 6/1

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is also 6/1, alongside Rafa Benitez of Newcastle and Leicester's Claude Puel

Southampton's Mark Hughes at 9/2, while Huddersfield's David Wagner is 16/1. Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp - in charge of Manchester United's two biggest rivals this season - are very likely to lose their jobs at Manchester City and Liverpool respectively

As for Mourinho, he explained after the defeat to Derby last night why he has axed Paul Pogba from the United captaincy

"The only truth is that I made the decision of Paul not to be the second captain anymore," Mourinho said

"But no fall-out. No problems at all. "The same person that decides Paul is not second captain anymore was exactly the same person that decides that Paul was the second captain, myself

"I am the manager, I can make these decisions, no fall-out at all, no problems at all

"Just one decision that I don't have to explain."

How to Start Building Conversational Skills for Children with Autism - Duration: 6:14.

Many parents of young children with autism dream of the day when they can have

full conversations with their children, but getting children who are not talking much

or at all to become conversational is a big mystery for most parents and professionals,

so today I'm going to break it down and talk about how to teach conversational skills to

children with autism.

Hi.

I'm Dr. Mary Barbera, autism mom, board certified behavior analyst, and best selling author.

Each week, I provide you with some of my ideas about turning autism around, so if you haven't

subscribed to my YouTube channel, you can do that now.

Let's think about a conversation between two adults on the phone.

Say I call up my mom on the phone and start with, "Hey, mom.

How are you?"

In verbal behavior terms, this is an advance mand or request for information.

So my mom might answer with, "I'm feeling okay," or "I'm feeling a little sick," or

"I'm doing great."

That answer is an advanced intraverbal.

Right after my mom answers my question though, she will probably ask how my day is going

too, so we bounce back and forth between advanced mands or questions to intraverbals or answers

to the question.

So if I'm in a rush and don't have time to talk, I'll stop manding to my mom and try

to get off the phone, just answer her questions and tell her I'm in a rush and quietly get

off the phone.

But when we think about having conversations, it's basically a mixture of advanced mands,

asking questions, and intraverbals, answering questions.

For my clients who went from not talking to conversational, we programmed using the VB

map for years, teaching early mands, requests for things the child wanted first, whether

they wanted them or needed them such as food and drink and of course the iPad.

Then we moved on to manding for actions, such as come, up, help, push.

We had the child manding for missing items by programming for these things, then manding

for attention, which is really hard because it's hard to program for teaching a child

to want somebody's attention, which involves a lot of capturing and contriving the motivation.

Then finally, mands for information, like I asked my mom, "How are you today?"

Intraverbals or the answer part of questions start off with basic fill in the blank with

the last word of songs, such as "twinkle, twinkle little ..." Leaving that blank, the

child would fill in "star."

Moving up to filling in with words, such as, "You sleep in a ..." bed, and, "You drink

from a ..." leaving that blank, and the child would answer with or without pictures present.

Then we move on to more answering questions, like "Where do you sleep?" which begins to

build more and more complexity.

Answering questions like "What do you eat in the morning that is warm?"

Is a lot harder than answering "What can you eat?"

Because what do you eat in the morning that's warm involves eating, morning, so the discrimination

of what you eat in the morning versus lunch time or dinner time, and then warm involves

knowing cold, hot, warm, those sorts of things, so it's pretty complex.

It's not just a matter of a child can ask and answer questions, but that conditional

discrimination or how complex the questions can get before they fall apart.

I remember years ago listening to Mark Sundberg present, who is the author of the VB map,

and he also wrote the forward for my book, The Verbal Behavior Approach, and Mark Sundberg

said, "What do you wear to the beach?" is a question.

"What do you take to the beach?" is a question.

We change one word, we change the answer, and this is why intraverbals are so, so hard

for kids, and not just English and not just kids with special needs, but you really need

to be four or five years old before you can get to talk about these things that involve

such complexity.

Over the past two decades I've been in the autism world, I've learned that conversational

skills need to be taught systematically, and most times it takes years to build full conversational

language.

Also, children and adults with cognitive impairment in addition to autism like my son, Lucas,

may have the ability to ask and answer some questions, but are not able to ever acquire

full conversational speech.

My best advice to build conversational skills is to assess and program using the VB map

assessment and make basic manding the centerpiece of your child or client's program.

If you like this video blog, I would love it if you would leave me a comment, give me

a thumbs up, share the video with others who might benefit, and if you have an autism issue

you're struggling with, please comment about that struggle and maybe I'll do a video blog

on that real soon.

Regina Vogel for SheEO SwissRadicalGenerosity - Duration: 4:33.

Did you know that only 9% of the top 50 startups in Switzerland are founded by women?

And that is opposed to 60% of women on the Boards of the largest corporations in Switzerland.

If I'm right, 9% women on startups as the case, the big corporations that we always talk about

and, this is what that means, women are missing the bus yet again.

Because in the startup world, that is where the change for tomorrow is happening.

And, we don't get the support that we need.

And, that is why it is very unlikely that your sister or your daughter is going to start a business that is going to scale.

And this is really sad as there's a huge opportunity right now out there in the world

world everything's crumbling, all the systems are untapped and there is this huge opportunity to recreate a world

with systems that work for women as well as for men.

And I'm here ready to talk about a possibility.

This is SheEO.

We want to create a Tribe, that really takes the leadership to change things.

What I mean by that is, let's stop asking for policies that give women equal rights, equal access to money and to power positions.

Let's just pool the resources and the money that we have, and make that possible. Because, we have everything we need.

So, here's how SheEO works.

We bring together 500 women and we want you to be one of them.

And, each of us brings together, each of us brings 1100 Swiss Francs

and we pool that money into a perpetual fund and then together, in a participatory and transparent process

and an online process, we select 5 start-ups that are led by women. And that are impact driven because, we want to create a better world

not just for women - for everyone.

So, after 5 years, those start-ups are going to pay back the interest-free loan and it goes straight back into our perpetual fund.

Out of this, we want to select the next 5 start-ups.

There's a world wide vision here.

Each year, to have 1 million women, pool 1 million dollars, and then fund 10,000 start-ups.

And, imagine that. This is how we can really recreate the world. This is huge impact.

So make no mistake, by giving CHF 1100, your not investing so that you can have a personal return on investment,

You're investing into the future. You're investing in these start-ups and into your daughter's future.

So there's no payback in money, but you become part of a Tribe of 500 women who together,

not only fund those startups, but with our network, and our resources, our expertise, we're just boosting those women

and we're boosting the impact they can have in the world. And in that process, so many women will want to become entrepreneurs. Maybe you will be one of them.

So join our movement and here's how you can do that:

become part of our Facebook Tribe and get our weekly blogs,

get our, sign up for our weekly newsletter, and most of all,

sign up to become an Activator.

That means like, "Yes!" I'm committed. I'm going to put in my 1100, I'm going to select those start-ups with my tribe of 500 women because together, we can change the world.

Tiger Woods determined to atone for too many Ryder Cup defeats - Duration: 5:29.

Tiger Woods determined to atone for too many Ryder Cup defeats

Tiger Woods has been on a winning Ryder Cup side just once and believes he has a point to prove.

Tiger Woods admitted he has not enjoyed being on the losing team in six of his seven Ryder Cup appearances and is determined to taste victory this week for the first time in 19 years.

Woods, fresh from his memorable win at the Tour Championship, returns for Team USA as a player at Le Golf National having missed the last two editions through injury, and he is well aware of how painful it is to watch the Europeans celebrating on Sunday evening.

The 42-year-old was a member of the winning 1999 team at the "Battle of Brookline", but that remains his only success in the competition after injury prevented him from playing in Paul Azinger's victorious side in 2008, while he was a vice-captain at Hazeltine two years ago while nursing his back injury.

As he reflected on his Ryder Cup disappointments at his pre-tournament press conference, he said: "It certainly is something that, when I look back on my entire Ryder Cup career, it's not something that I have really enjoyed and I've really liked seeing.

"I've played a lot of the matches.

Of those seven previous Ryder Cups, I've sat out one session, and that was at Medinah.

Otherwise, I've played every single match.

"We haven't done well.

You know, the year that we won in 2008, I had reconstruction knee surgery after the US Open and I didn't play.

And I was a vice-captain in 2016, but it's different being a player.

"It was neat to be part of the team, to be a part of helping the guys in any way I possibly could to make them feel comfortable, to get them into the right circumstances to allow them to play their best golf.

"As a player, it's different because you focus on your playing partner and earning your point.

As a vice-captain, there's so many moving parts that you're in charge of, and so that was very different in 2016.

"But my overall Ryder Cup record, not having won as a player since 1999 is something that hopefully we can change.

We haven't won as a US squad here in 25 years on foreign soil, so hopefully that will change this week, as well.".

Woods also believes the tough 18th hole at Le Golf National could be pivotal in the outcome, and he added: "I remember being a part of some of the Presidents Cup teams that Jack had captained.

He says it plain and simple: 'Who wins the 18th hole?'.

"Those were the matches that swing.

If you're one up, you lose the last hole, go to even, or you win the last hole and you get a point; these little half-points to point swings are enormous over the course of the entire Cup.

"The teams that we've been a part of in The Presidents Cup wins, at least that I've been a part of, and we've handled the 18th hole well.

But in the Ryder Cup, we haven't.

"The blowouts that we have received in The Ryder Cup, we didn't play the 18th hole well; and in the blowouts we've had in the Presidents Cup where we've blown the internationals out is because we won the 18th hole.

"The matches are very tight, and usually who plays the last hole well determines the Cup.
