Waching daily Sep 29 2018

Hi, it's Dr Sam Robbins,

Today's topic isn't just for anyone who is diabetic…

it's for anyone who is pre-diabetic if you want or need to lower your blood sugar

or A1C levels If you're concerned about memory, cognition

and specifically, Alzheimer's disease (which is now called type 3 diabetes)

If you want to lose fat, especially the stubborn belly fat

If you want to improve your blood pressure and/or cholesterol levels

Actually, I can go on and on.

But the point is that any foods that increase your blood sugar to high levels, that put

stress on your pancreas and decrease insulin sensitivity - will eventually cause the above

mentioned illnesses and thus, MUST be avoided.

In fact, the secret to longevity is greatly determined by managing your blood sugar levels.

And there are lots of ways to do this naturally - specific forms of exercise, stress management,

clinically proven herbs and vitamins and of course, your diet - which is what I'm going

to quickly discuss today.

And no, it's not always about carbohydrates…

So let's get started with 5 foods that you should avoid if you have diabetes or want

to avoid it or simply, want to look and feel younger:

1 -- Sugar Sweetened Beverages I think by far, the worst foods are sugar

sweetened beverages.

This includes sodas of course, but lots of other drinks have added sugars as well -- lemonade,

sweetened iced tea, coffees and even some fruit juices.

In fact, I'd say that even regular fruit juice should be avoided as well.

One main problem is you can drink hundreds of calories in minutes - which you could NEVER

do if you were to eat real food.

Even if it were a big plate of pasta or rice.

Not only do all of these drinks contain pure sugar and thus, almost instantly spike up

your blood sugar and insulin levels.

But the typically contain the worst type of, man-made sugar called -- high fructose corn

syrup (HFCS).

This is super concentrated fructose, which is the sugar found in fruits.

Simply stated, it's a negative nutrient partitioning agent and thus, 100 calories

of HFCS, will convert to fat, much faster than other foods -- even regular sugar or

white bread.

So, just avoid it and make sure you read the label because HFCS is found so many products.

2 -- Syrups In addition to high fructose corn syrup, you

need to also avoid other type of "syrups", such as maple syrup, honey and agave nectar

and similar sugar-packed foods.

They may be "natural" and not man-made like HFCS, but they produce similar negative

effects.

3 -- Artificial Sweeteners

So at this point, you may be thinking "fine, no sugars, I'll just use some artificial,

no calorie sweeteners"...

BAD MOVE.

These are also linked to diabetes1,2,4 and a host of other health problems such as cancer,

inflammation, decreased immunity and infertility.,3

So far, the research has shown that the best and safest, no-calorie sweetener is Stevia

- which is actually an herb, not man-made.

In fact, it can help LOWER blood sugar, in addition to blood pressure and cholesterol

levels.5-7

I also like Xylitol, but in higher dosages it can cause stomach problems.

4 -- Cereal Eating cereal is one of the worst ways to

start your day, especially if you have diabetes or you're concerned about your blood sugar.

Despite the health claims on their boxes, most cereals are highly processed and contain

far more carbs than many people realize.

Plus, the contain bad carbs -- such as corn, wheat and sugar.

In addition, they provide very little protein, a nutrient that can help you feel full and

satisfied while keeping your blood sugar levels stable during the day8.

Anything that comes in a box, that's man-made and produced by multi-billion dollar companies

should be avoided!

5 -- Unhealthy Fats

Even though carbs, specifically higher amounts of those that have a high glycemic index and

glycemic load, cause an increase in the blood sugar - the other problem is insulin sensitivity.

When your cells aren't as sensitive to insulin, your body has to produce more and more, to

get the same "blood sugar lowering" effect.

Eventually, your burn out your pancreas and you then become diabetic.

I'm simplified this a bit, but I hope you get the point -- Your goal is to lower blood

sugar levels AND improve insulin sensitivity.

Well, but avoiding the foods I've mentioned today, you will for sure help lower blood

sugar levels.

However, there's one type of food that does NOT increase your blood sugar, but it does

cause a major decrease in insulin sensitivity and that's "bad fats".

These include "trans fats", which are found in margarines, peanut butter, spreads,

creamers, frozen foods, crackers, snacks, muffins and baked goods.

Although trans fats (also known as partially hydrogenated) don't directly raise blood sugar

levels, they've been linked to increased inflammation, insulin resistance and belly fat, as well

as lower "good" HDL cholesterol levels and impaired arterial function.9-12

Additionally, you need to limit your omega 6 fats, which is found in high amounts in

vegetable and seed oils such as:

Soybean Canola

Corn Sunflower

Safflower Cottonseed

peanut

These oils are completely unnatural and cause massive insulin insensitivity, which can lead

to diabetes and a host of other "inflammatory" diseases.13-16

Summary Knowing which foods to avoid when you have

diabetes or your concerned about your blood sugar, can sometimes seem tough.

You may feel like you can't eat anything.

I know this very well because I have diabetes in my own family.

Your main goals should include staying away from unhealthy fats, liquid sugars, processed

grains and other foods that contain refined carbs.

Avoiding foods that increase your blood sugar levels and cause insulin resistance can help

Eat as natural as possible.

Avoid man-made products that come in a box and are filled with lots of ingredients.

Keep it simple!

you're making and stuff that you should be doing I guess you could say that I

looking to climb in the support role they're all just things that you should

be constantly doing and considering so I do really recommend that you write these

down before you actually play a game and focus on using them constantly as you

let's get into the video at number 5 you're just not aware of your utility as

a support this is something that a lot of support players unranked are just

really struggling to recognize you're an awesome player and your skill but you're

playing like a heel bot that's just the figurative janitor of your team

most supports goal in this game isn't actually to just heal obviously you do

have to do your role and make sure that teammates don't die but that's not the

only thing that you should be doing most supports are based around utility take

lucio for example his healing kinda sucks and he really doesn't have that

burst like some of the other supports however he does have speed boost Boop

and beat those three abilities all can completely change the pace of the fight

and can guarantee wins where they may not have been possible to climb the

ladder you need to learn your utility as a support let's say that you're on Hanah

mora playing lucio attacking first point and you spot and out of position main

tank near the allege of the backside of the point and you get a Boop onto the

main tank of the enemy team while your team is brawling on point you're going

to greatly increase the chances of your team winning without actually doing a

ton of heals you're actually just getting a crucial kill with that Boop

ability while you're still definitely required to play with your main healer

as loose you own group up and heal the allies squishies that might need it if

there's an opportunity to make plays like that you're going to be able

to climb as a support if you're on mercy giving a res on that Genji with blade

and then Val King and power boosting it might win you the game with a game

winning fight its plays like these that really separate the minimum effort

healbots from the insane carries that can come from the support slot really

learn when you're useful as a healer and break through the healbot mentality by

starting to make place where you're able to find them but with that said don't go

off on your own and leave your team to die you still do have to heal your

teammates sometimes and number 4 you need to pay more attention to your

surroundings this tip is for players who aren't in diamond then above but it's

still a huge part of why some players don't climb if you know that the enemy

has a sniper it's in your best interest to stay behind the corners and out of

line of sight of the enemy sniper it sounds so obvious and it is but it's

harder to do an execution than actually saying it but it is doable you have to

take a good look at the enemy comp and think to yourself where they will be

attacking you and when they will attack you the more that you ask yourself this

the more likely that you're going to be in a safer position so that you don't

get instagib then die immediately if the enemy has April come that requires

fighting in close quarters with no mobile or super ranged heroes playing on

the high ground that the enemy won't attack is going to be very smart if the

enemy is ranged then you can just stay around the corner or in rooms that the

enemy can't easily get line of sight from if they have a fast-moving dive cop

staying super close to your team is smart or staying super far back if

you're an ax is smart you just really have to play positions that really force

the enemy to commit to killing you rather than sticking to spots where

you're super vulnerable and easy to kill you're the easiest to kill on your team

and the second most informed role so if you're dead your team is done and you

sure as hell know that your teammates aren't going to be helping you out so

play in spots where you don't need your team to bail you out but with that said

the more important thing is just that you please do not leave that position

once you have it unless you're absolutely sure that you have to if you

get in a good spot but leave at the moment that the fight gets rough or

you're going to put all that hard thinking to nothing

at number three you're just mismanaging your abilities this is one for those of

you that are playing more cooldown based heroes like Lucy o Anna and Moira let me

give you an example let's say that you're a doctor and you get some guy in

your office with the scratch on his knee you're not gonna give the guy surgery to

fix his knee right you're gonna kick him out of your office and tell them to suck

it up or at least give the poor guy a band-aid and it's similar vein if you're

Kenji has 30 HP missing don't waste your nade on him make sure that your team

isn't dying first and then take the time to miss your shots on the Genji if

you're la isn't critical there's no reason to commit stuff like an for

grenade or orb another thing is that you really need to recognize the impact that

certain abilities might have let's say that you have the option to nade nano

and pocket again G that has blade and that has been consistent sometimes it is

better to just let your offtank die so that you think that big blade off with

some quick thinking figure out where you're best off using your abilities or

at least plan it before the fight breaks out if you know that you can G has blade

and is doing well in your Zarya maybe isn't doing the best then you're just

going to want to use your cooldowns on the Genji so that he can do well rather

than nating and pumping heels into this ru that isn't really valuable to that

specific teamfight and also finally just make sure that you're not wasting your

old son lost fights we've all made fun of the Zarya that gets a big grab but

instantly dies because she's completely alone

but we've also all made fun of the Lucio that uses sound barrier on himself make

sure that when you alt you actually have people that you're holding with quickly

press tab and you'll be able to see how many people are alive and well and then

you'll be able to plan out whether or not you're going to use your old

cooldown management is extremely vital as a support that isn't dependent on

mechanical skill and number two I'm branching off of the last point and it's

just that you're not picking favorites as a support you got to pick favorites

believe it or not the number one thing that I focus on as a support when I play

is value and if you have a teammate who's putting in a lot of work and

getting kills or making plays pocketing them to an extent is valuable and

worthwhile you're not almighty when you're on

healer so it's completely unreasonable to expect that you're not going to let

anybody ever die I mean if you do think that you can do that then you're either

overwatch League ready or you're just completely unrealistic sometimes you

just got to make the tough decision to let a teammate die so that your other

teammates can make big plays sounds morbid but it's just the reality of the

situation what I'll usually do is check the tab menu

after the first fight and see who has the most old charge who got kills or who

did the best and then begin focusing on them and playing more with them if

somebody needs help I obviously try and help them out but if I'm in the process

of bringing them to full health and my favorite is dropping low and in danger

you better know that I'm ditching the teammate that I don't care about to go

help my carry guy don't tell your team that you're playing

favorites though but sometimes you do have to do that if your whole team is

doing semi well though and you're winning the majority of the fights

there's no reason to do this but when your team is struggling to make things

happen picking favorites is a 100% must it seems like it's selfish and believe

me it is but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is that sweet

sweet free loaf and finally last but not least at number one you need to be

playing team captain there's two sides to this issue and I'll start off with

the underperforming end of things you've got those players who are playing

support without a mic not communicating threats enemy position old tracker etc

and then you've got those who are over performing letting the team know what's

currently on their mind which wall the enemy Kenji climbed on last and what

they had for dinner and more if you're on that first side if you can use voice

chat please just use it and if you're on that second side please just consider

stop talking a bit and just only make super necessary calls and make sure that

they don't last more than five seconds most people just let whoever start

shotcalling but sometimes it is necessary to take that role for yourself

and start helping your team out as a support your job isn't as intense for

the majority of the time compared to DPS or tank players so you can make your job

more meaningful if you're paying attention to how much alt the enemy has

they're positioning your team's well-being and more if you can become

that team captain role for your team by making clear and concise calls you're

going to be able to be a super valuable part of your team with that said though

if you talk more than five seconds at a time you might want to consider

re-evaluating the calls that you're making and make them at least a little

bit more efficient the biggest thing as a support char color is just paying

attention to the threats for your team the enemies old charge and impending

alts and whether your team should play up or play back if you can nail this

information down and consistently call it out even if you're a mediocre support

player you're going to be able to carry the fights with your superior

shotcalling anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this

Freddy Krueger Returns To TV For Goldbergs Halloween Special - Duration: 4:17.

Freddy Krueger is going to be on the Goldbergs Halloween special and we have

some news on it all so we're gonna talk about a sister act reboot in the Peach

Pit from the 90 showed 902 I know is for real so stay tuned for all that news and

more coming up what up to my people is then welcome to retro cruncher a

nostalgia show where we talk about current news that relates to all things

retro Halloween is right around the corner and whether you love or hate the

a teaspoon the Goldbergs their Halloween episode is gonna be must watch TV hi I

just wanted to introduce you to our special guest star this episode his name

is fredward that's a mr. Krueger to you mr. Krueger right because I have rolodex

he's just enchanting he's just enchanting very well-mannered we get her

nails done at the same place

the popular villain Freddy Krueger from the original 1984 movie Nightmare on Elm

Street who's played by Robert Englund he's gonna be reprising his role as

Freddy for the Goldbergs Halloween episode mr. England is now 71 years old

and he stated in the past that he would never dawn the Freddy Krueger character

costume ever again but it looks like he's had a change of heart and this

Goldberg episode is gonna be titled a nightmare on Oak Avenue and it features

the character Adam and his reaction to seeing the 1984 film ABC has not

announced the date that they're gonna be airing the episode yet but we can only

guess that it's gonna be sometime near Halloween so keep your eyes peeled for

it and in some more movie news Whoopi Goldberg unrelated to the TV show

recently had an interview with good morning Britain and dropped the news

that Disney is working on another Sister Act film it's not what you forgive the

war spectrum spurton cocoon 2 - a probiem

Whoopi Goldberg starred in the original sister act movie which was one of the

highest-grossing comedy movies of the 90s but she said that for this reboot

she is not gonna be reprising her role of Dolores Wilson and if you never saw a

sister at growing up it's actually worth a watch but if Disney is gonna be able

to replicate the success that they had with Whoopi Goldberg they better bring

in a star that can pull it off and I'm curious if they're gonna stick with a

black female lead for this reboot with all the role reversals that we see

nowadays in movies anything is possible and we finally have the first pictures

of Tom Hanks dress to play mr. Rogers for the upcoming Sony Pictures film you

are my friend I know Tom Hanks is gonna be able to pull off this role because he

is a great actor but for me it's gonna be his voice is he gonna be able to

sound like the original mr. Rogers is he gonna have that same tone and demeanor

that Mister Rogers gave us I don't really know but the movie is gonna be

coming out October 2019 and we actually have a long time to wait for this one

and if you're near Chicago Illinois and loved the 90s TV show 902 and oh you got

to check out this bar called iron sidebar and galley they're converting

their lower deck of the bar to look like the Peach Pit hangout from the legendary

902 uh no TV show so that's this week's retro news if you liked the video don't
