Ahoy there cruisers and welcome to another episode of cruise with Ben and David.

In this episode we're going to be giving you our ultimate amazing top tips

for cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line.

Whether you're a first-time cruiser on NCL

or if you've been on a Norwegian cruise before

stick with us because you might learn something you never knew.

So our first big tip would be the book shows before you get on the cruise.

And apart from the comedy shows

you can do this all before you even board

on the online planner.

How cool is that!

You can also do it when you're onboard

on most ships on the TV screens

or at guest services as well.

The shows will show multiple times throughout your cruise

so don't worry if you don't get in the first showing

and for the comedy shows as well

these are sometimes really popular so if you want a particular seat

make sure you get there a little bit before the short starts just so you can

get the spot that you want.

Yes sit back relax order a drink and get there before the masses do.

It's not a problem.

Tip number two is if you are stuck any

time around the ship look at the floor because there is fish that point facing forward.

Trust me when you're in Isles and stuff where you can't see

which direction you're moving this is so helpful isn't it.

Plus keep an eye out for the rebellious fish that swims in the opposite direction.

Yeah it's a red herring.

So our next big tip would be to buy a dining package.

Seriously, this can save you an absolute fortune.

You can buy different types of packages

you can buy, sort of like, three meals.

Packages for your whole cruise.

The more dining in package days you buy

The better the value is as well.

So if you buy a dining package for your entire cruise

you're gonna save the most amount of money.

You can easily save up to 50% because lots of the menus are a la carte.

So it means you have to pay per dish.

We've done this quite a few times and you get to eat in some really really yummy specialty restaurants.

Usually in the speciality restaurant if you have purchased the dining package

you can have as many starter courses as you want

you get to choose a main course and as many desserts as you like as well.

And if you got somewhere with sides as well for

the main course you can order as many of these as you want.

So you can eat in some beautiful places like Le Bistro, La Cucina,

and Cagney's the steak restaurant.

Seriously guys it's so worth the money

the food is amazing.

On the day that you board the ship,

or embark the ship,

there's usually some offers for 20% off some of the shows.

Some shows are paid, not many of them,

some of the illusion type shows or the circus type shows

and if you book these on the first day of getting onboard

you can save 20%.

Also keep an eye out because there may be discounts on speciality restaurants

and spa treatments.

just because usually the first day these were a lot quieter.

Just keep an eye out for any discounts.

Just ask at the spa or at the maitre d office

and they'll tell you if there's any offers on that day.

So make sure you grab those bargains as soon as you get on.

Our next tip is food-related again

as all out tips seem to be.

Don't forget that O'Sheehan's and or The Local as it's called on some of the ships

is complimentary dining 24 hours a day

so if you have the midnight munchies

if you're heading back

to your cabin after a night out boogieing

it's great to pop by there grab some

chicken wings, which were amazing,

or if you're just looking for a light lunch or a light breakfast.

So there's loads of breakfast options on board Norwegian not just the buffet.

There's also a sit-down option in the main dining room.

Plus, you can also get alternative breakfast options in some of the specialty dining restaurants.

Such as Margaritaville.

This is great because they're a little bit quieter than the hustle and bustle of the buffet.

At peak times the buffet can get really busy.

So it's quite easy.

Either go towards the beginning of the buffet opening or the end of the the buffet closing.

And you'll usually find it's a lot quieter and you'll find a seat much easier.

Also another alternative, if you don't want to leave your cabin at all

is to order room service breakfast as well.

It's lovely if you've got hangover you can just lay in bed and order some nice food.

So next tip is Norwegian is all about the flexibility

and your may have heard the term freestyle dining.

This basically means that you can eat wherever you want, whenever you want.

It's so good.

It lets you avoid the really busy times.

We usually find that the busy time for eating on a cruise are 6 to 8 p.m.

So you can quite easily avoid these times by going outside of those times.

You can also use the TV screens to have a look and see

when the restaurants are open.

You can see this in the daily guide as well.

It actually tells you on the TV screens how busy these restaurants are.

You can go to a restaurant really easily that isn't busy

and there's no queue!

Apart from the speciality dining

there's no need to book

there's no set mealtimes

there's no split where some people have a set mealtime and some people don't.

Everybody, it's just down when you want and where you want.

It's so fantastic we absolutely love the flexibility on Norwegian.

[crickets]

Oh!

Another top tip when booking your Norwegian cruise

is to look at the Free At Sea promotion.

These are available to people outside Europe

and it means that you get to choose

different add-ons to your cruise.

So this could be free Wi-Fi, onboard spend,

speciality dining, drinks packages

and you can get usually one or two

depending on what class of cabin you book.

We recommend that you go for the drinks package if you do have that option.

Because that's probably worth the most amount of money.

Yeah, if you're a drinker, it is definitely.

For everybody in Europe, like us.

When you book a cruise, as standard, it's the all-inclusive premium package.

This actually includes all of your drinks, sometimes things like a little bit of Wi-Fi and your gratuities.

So you don't have to worry about that.

Next tip is to be prepared for some of the themed parties onboard.

So Norwegian like to hold themed parties

and you don't want to be left out in the cold as they sa!

You want to be there with your full-on rock and costume

such as the white party

so make sure you bring some white clothes along

and sometimes the hold things like decade party so

90s, 60s, 70s parties as well

so bring some costumes along.

There's quite a lot of people do like to dress up.

The white part is a highlight of the Norwegian cruise.

They usually do this outside if weather is permitting

on cold climates that will actually do it inside which they did on our last cruise.

[Ben] It is such a fun party as-well. [David] They put glow lights up.

They Even do and free face painting with glow paints and all sorts.

The kids can get involved as well. It's really fun for all the family.

They've got ultraviolet lights everywhere so that's why you wear white.

So you shine like a star!

[laughing]

[ben sings] Shine like a star!

[breathy voice] Shine like a star.

Because if you're not on an all-inclusive package

or have a drinks package

water can be quite expensive on a cruise as well

so we always recommend you take an empty bottle a big water.

So just an empty water bottle

so that you can refill it whilst you're onboard.

You can go get some great potable ones.

I particularly at the Chilly's bottles

They are really good

They keep your water cold for 24 hours.

I just think they're brilliant.

They're super light and you can refill them around the ship.

Exactly and you can also bring bottles of wine on board.

But bear in mind that

you will be charged a corkage fee for each one of them.

This is currently, for a standard bottle of wine, $15

and for a huge big bottle of Magnum wine it's $30.

But if you do have a particular wine you like

it's great to bring that on board

and it also maybe could save you a little bit of money

compared to buying wine on the ship.

Just remember you are charged that $15 corkage fee when you board the ship

So even if you don't drink it in any of the restaurants or if you don't open it

while you're on board you're still gonna have to pay the $15 corkage fee.

You can also, if you don't finish that bottle of wine, ask your way to the keep

it for your next meal as well which is really cool.

Finally we're almost at

the end of the video and the end of our cruise.

So our last tip before you get off

is to take advantage of the self assist walk off if you're able to.

It's great because you avoid all the lines during the day.

You just have to remember though,

that you have to carry your own luggage with you.

So that means that you have to carry it down the stairs and off the ship.

So usually you're actually assigned a leaving time

to get off the ship.

So this could be any time usually

from about 7 a.m. until about 9:30 a.m.

But as David says you can choose to use self assist.

Basically all this means is self walk off.

So you don't put your luggage out the night before.

You literally just take your luggage off and walk it off the ship.

But we find that this saves you so much time.

It is usually a little bit earlier maybe 7 a.m.

that you're actually required to walk off the ship.

But there's usually no queues.

You don't have to wait for your luggage

and you get out of the terminal really really quickly.

and we start off the day with a nice nutritious breakfast banana and peanut

butter on toast hello friends of the internet today's video is the video

you've all been waiting for my boyfriend controls my life for a day it's

currently nine o'clock it's all up to you mm-hmm I've pretty

much guessed what we're gonna do just two things out of six she's smart

but we all see can you guys enjoy this video make sure you give it a thumbs up

upload alright let's get on into the video for the first activity of the day

we're gonna go to the tennis courts and play some tennis don't get me wrong

right if I was to have my normal day planned it probably consists of waking

up around 11 o'clock just literal chillin but it's not every day you get

the chance to control your favorite person's life so to make it nice and

action-packed I'm going to try and mimic her day a little bit and you know she

did Pilates in the morning so they're gonna play tennis now I want to put my

tiny disclaimer at the beginning of this clip because I've never failed anything

in my life at school I was quite the studious girl

the only thing I failed was tense so please keep that in mind whilst you

watch this I got a three out of ten not even a four out of ten a three out

of ten all right continue watching

tennis was great fun but did I do worse than you thought I was gonna do I think

you did pretty well all right I'm getting petrol have fun without me so

what we're gonna do now that Kyra is going to fill up the car with petrol and

she's outside the car I'm just gonna let you guys know what we're doing next

I booked tickets to go see small foot which is that new movie with Channing

Tatum and James Corden and stuff like that I'm not really sure what she wanted

to see but you know it says fun for the family and for the kids and well we're

kids so see you there Michael let's head out the bag and Tommy we're going to the

movie but I don't know what maybe we're gonna

see we're gonna see this one so I'm gonna show you her that right now I

wanted to see a simple favor but I don't think we're seeing that because I love

Anna Kendrick and I really want to see that maybe but I'm guessing because a

lot of kids are walking into the cinema that we're seeing Christopher Robin I

don't know any of the kids movie sit around I'm sorry you then ban no idea

what that movies great right yeah yeah we do being in the cinema yes so he went

in saw a small foot I just made a small mistake and forgot that schools went on

holidays yesterday and so the movie was good but not the children yeah there

were so many kids in the theatre Kara could get kicked in the back yeah and

there were kids talking throughout the movie but then it got better to at the

end because they were all falling asleep I think they didn't really understand

the whole movie deep deep I really enjoyed the movie then

are we getting food let's go let go good luck

yes the sushi this place looks so good I got the chicken in Avenue Gary Mike we

got one as well and then he got the salmon and avocado sushi paradise yeah

boy okay so we just spent some lunch this time something clear doesn't really

know about and we're going to do shopping challenge to the way that I

miss you

they go shopping yes sir it was a big fail yeah I got very stressed about

trying to choose something yeah and I also struggled to choose things it's

just hard and so I called up Michael and I was like help me let's say this is the

thing I bought for Michael it was this screw cheap end squish this up into it I

think it just really like what inflate inflate and so while she was getting

that I went and I got these buzz I know she likes to crop like gold black and

silver glitter and then the other one which is just like nice it has like

stripes pink and polka dots I like my arts and crops she Jenna knows a bit of

Dick Grayson nice Lisa it remind me of the one from Pocahontas you know with

names like Miko or something and I remember when I went yeah I don't like

here watch the movie she likes that character I felt an affinity with it I

was like that's me the next thing I got Michael was where he found me yes I

decided to meet up we muster that we met up because we were struggling so much

and then I found here in the next section and she was looking at something

was I was looking at the bed linen for Michael because he's a little bit one

and a little bit tired and I was like he's not gonna get any for Michelle so

I'm also get some and I was trying to toss up between this pink and purple one

which was a little bit girly but it was pretty cool it was really cool

like water-colored no and then this was the other one which is the one he

decided on it which was the one I was probably going to get it's this galaxy

bed linen I have a single bed Kira has like a double a double

so bottom line smaller at least it's gonna look like it has space that's so

good yeah it's a nice one while we were in that shop I couldn't decide what to

get but here suggested that she needs a new one of these and we've got this

snazzy little beauty from Real Techniques this is supposed to be a

really good one I usually get like three dollar ones but I was like you know what

let's see what all the hype is about so I got just slashed up I smile just like

I splashed I splurged then I went to one of my favorite stores the reject shop

but hackers have so much stuff and it's so cheap

and I got this which is not really for her but it is to her it's toothpaste and

I know she hates it when my breath smells hopefully it doesn't smell this

toothpaste and I saw this also in the rejector I thought that's just perfect

ready

oh so I got that from here I really like it I was just doing this for the rest of

the shopping trip it helps relieve some of the stress that I feeling early but

yeah the last thing I got Michael which he pointed out very obviously to me this

gameis categories it's such a good game I would have never gotten this last B we

went to Toys R Us cuz I had some spare money for Kiera I was really struggling

what to get so she thought what if I get some silly putty of what she wanted and

then I've got this big tub of silly putty and then she saw this little

rainbow table of silly putty in and was like oh no I like that one so much

better a noble thing and I returned the first one that we bought those three

seconds I was like oh I'll if you just bought this but can I can I return it

and get this instead look at the different colors I'm so excited to play

with that oh maybe not here maybe maybe in the kitchen just in case it's messy

to finish off the shopping haul I got this little baby sloth little quickie

fish actually kind of matches the reckoning in a little bit of a way oh

yeah why did she recently bought a plush sloth from Target it feels like wet but

then you take your finger out launch it good luck getting it back in there it'll

fall on the way in though separated I kind of liked it better with all the

different colors mushed yeah that's the end of our shopping poll

that failed but was also quite successful all right the penultimate

event of the day yes Kira gets this one fairly early on when

asking what cleaner clothes she should bring I brought clothes for golfing

figure thing we're not actually going golfing we're just going to the range

Kira what go golfing with me I won't play golf with him so we're going to the

range guarantee for another me missing balls montage see you there now my phone

camera cause my actual camera ran out of battery we've had too much of a fun day

yes but to finish off the fun day we're gonna do some singing I've got the old

Playstation 2 out we're gonna do some high school musical scene stuff alright

she's going here so we're clearly talented performers it was a pretty good

day I thought you did a pretty good job oh they do I didn't like the Gulf she

didn't like the Gulf and you wouldn't like to go but you made me pull ups so I

thought yeah that's funny I could do some stuff that was fun for me I hope

Game Theory based Incentive Model for Online Sharing - Duration: 3:09.

When you try to have the human network converge on desire results right? and our

entire axiom is that whatever you are seeking because we're all interconnected

in our human web you know up to six degrees everyone's connected and in

smaller communities it's much less so the ability of the human network to

converge to a target audience and whenever you need a business result

there's always the target audience you want to reach so the ability of the

human network to converge is there and it's highly optimizable so we are

connected if I'm a yoga teacher and I'm looking for my next students they're

somewhere not so far away in the network for my existing students but then how do

I properly incentivize the web to converge efficiently right? not to spread

in vain because when you spread in vain right you can burn yourself in your

human network and of course respectively your reputation gets harmed on the

2key network you can earn less and it's a human resource so if you get

burned you get burned it's not like a machine you can replace so the way for

us to maintain and optimize the network is to put a lot of thought of how to

develop the right game theory algorithms and models to incentivize online sharing

in a successful manner. So our entire approach for the 2key network is to

enable a new kind of sourcing for the web called social sourcing which is

basically the incentivized activation of result-driven

online virility and handle this right incentive meaning that when someone

reaches the campaign you know how much you should offer them for their services

and then backwards how to properly

compensate whoever was relevant in achieving a conversion it's a very

challenging task this is why we've joined to our ranks the leading professors from

academia that have researched this kind of campaigns there actually hasn't been

so much research on it just a few because there's not enough data sets

that have been explored and our notion is to

put forward a framework for enabling machine learning based optimization

lists so what we started is that we started from a thorough investigation of

all the research that was done in multi-step, multi-level referral

campaigns and there has been some academic work in algorithmic game theory

and along with our advisors from the Technion the Israel Institute

of Technology which are one of the leading contributors to this

research worldwide we've developed an advanced incentive model

that basically builds on top of all the latest research in the world and this is

just the baseline for developing a more robust machine learning based method

that would enable actually to optimize for each and every person dynamically

for various campaign types. So this is where we're at and this is where we're going with it.
