Let's talk about A Star is Born.

Great to have you here.

Hi, I'm Seth Welling We're doing A Star Is Born on Attic Film Review.

Let's dive right in.

A Star is born is a remake of the 1976 Kris Kristofferson, Barbara Streisand film and

basically the fifth time this film has been made: 1937, 1954, 1976, 2010, 2018.

This time it stars Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Gaga plays Ally, and Cooper plays Jackson Maine.

He also directs which is the first time that's ever happened (In A Star is Born).

Sam Elliot and Dave Chappelle also star.

The plot is that an established male singer helps a younger singer find her voice and

fame as he is consumed by alcoholism.

So one going up, one coming down and they don't seem to land on solid ground.

The trailer has been out for months which to me means that it's vying for Oscar contention.

But on the other hand, sometimes this can have the opposite effect where you're let

down by a film when you actually see it.

I don't think you'll be let down this time.

But this wasn't the case.

It's a star making vehicle for Lady Gaga and it's a role that we haven't seen from

Bradley Cooper.

He's able to hold it together with acting and directing at a high caliber within the

same movie.

It's actually kind of scary because norrmally you can do one and not the other at a very

very high caliber within the save movie.

In my opinion, who does this?

Bradley Cooper does it.

Of course the singing was on point because it's Lady Gaga doing what she does best.

She's released songs before that sounded a little less electronic so we know this is

in her range.

Is anything Not in her range?

The movie sometimes seems like a documentary at times because you see the evolution of

the Ally and Jackson's relationship and her development as an artist as the story

unfolds.

It's like seeing the Rolling Stones early concerts, the Ed Sullivan Show and then at

some concert in Brazil in 2013 or something.

It's just amazing.

The dialogue was heartfelt it just worked and gave you all the feels.

I've heard that they just clicked on set and so the dialog just really helps to sell

the movie.

The only downside to this movie is that the second hour is better than the first, because

there's a lot of backstory to get through about Jackson Maine andAlly and their separate

lives before they got together.

You know, backstory.

It isn't Bad but it's formulaic.

But it plays off in the end where it counts.

This movie is an Award Winner so take your mom.
