- What's up ladies and gentlemen!

My name's Jade Farrar, Community Engagement Advisor

for Manawanui, and we're so excited

to be announcing the opening of the Fund for Good.

- Hi Jade, thank you for inviting me along.

I'm Rachel Peterson, Community Relationship Manager

for Yes Disability resource center.

I myself am a client of Manawanui's,

manage my supports with their help and assistance.

And I was thrilled that Jade asked me

to come along and help him introduce

and launch this Fund for Good.

- Thanks Rachel!

- So Jade, this Fund for Good,

I think I've sort of got my head around it,

but can you explain to me what the purpose is

for this Fund for Good?

- Absolutely, so the idea is that we know

the disability community

is full of talent, energy, and skill.

But often people are confused about

where they can go for support and resources.

- That's true Jade, that's true.

Who will be eligible for this fund, Jade?

- So at the moment, only Manawanui clients are eligible

for this fund but their agents can also apply.

- Okay.

So Jade, regarding the scope of what people

can apply for, just to set the imaginations on fire,

can you tell us a little bit about the things that people

could possibly apply to the Fund for Good for?

- For those people that are looking for some help, because

I realize the scope for this is quite wide.

Maybe it's a research project or study that you want

to undertake.

Maybe there's a micro-business,

social enterprise, or community event

you want to start up.

Maybe it's even access to technology that would make

the biggest difference to the person.

The point is whatever it is, we want to hear about it!

- And, in what way do people apply for it?

- Well that's what's really interesting

about the Fund for Good.

People can send in their ideas and their goals

in whatever form they feel like,

including audio and video.

- Well that's amazing because I, myself,

am dyslexic, and I do have a lot of trouble with forms.

So that's really neat to know.

What's the time frames and cut-offs for paperwork?

- Alright so, people have until November 1st

to give their ideas, and

that might sound like a lot of time but it's not really.

So don't delay in sending your ideas as soon as.
