My husband and I met at college and from the time I met him I fell in love with

him.

He always was working out, so for a guy who was so focused on his body to watch

himself debilitate and literally fall apart was horrible for him. My husband

was constantly in pain. The morphine took the edge off. It never

took him out of pain. Never. As a nurse, I understood, but as a wife it was much

harder. He's my best friend and I knew I was gonna lose him. He went on to

hospice. He lasted two weeks. It was a horrible two weeks. I realized that

we aren't as evolved as a society maybe as we need to be. I believe that

everybody thinks about life and death differently and that nobody really

should have the wherewithal to interfere with a decision that somebody who has

come to that may involve medical aid in dying.
