"and has not placed therein any crookedness", [Quran 18:1]
i.e. that Book treads a straight path and does not deviate from it.
What is that straight path? Ease.
When it comes to this religion, If you depart from ease then you have deviated
The Prophet (ﷺ) said so, "The Religion (Islam) is about ease
and whoever makes the religion a rigour, it will overpower him", [Bukhari].
If it were not for this hadith, then in this 21st century,
we would be faced with innumerable problems
If the religion was not about ease, we would have all been disbelievers
Yes. If the religion wasn't ...
Prophet Moses (ﷺ) was sent to the Children of Israel
Prophet Moses (ﷺ) was sent to them with burdens and shackles [Quran 7:157]
The religion for them was (very restrictive)
and (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was sent) to "relieve them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them"
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel", [Quran 7:157]
(But) for us, all praise is due to Allah: our religion is what?
Our Prophet (ﷺ) says what? "The Religion (Islam) is about ease (is easy)"
"Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) was given an option between two things,
he used to select the easier of the tow as long as it was not unlawful (sinful)", [Muslim]
He (ﷺ) used to choose what? Whatever is easier.
So all praise is due to Allah.
So whenever you leave that (attribute) of ease, you will fall into lots of propblems
Reman with al-yussr (ease)
Once you become unyielding (severe), know that you are no longer with al-yussr
