USS SPRUANCE & USS PREBLE MOVES TO SOUTH CHINA SEA FOR 'FREEDOM OF NAVIGATION' OPERATION - Duration: 9:09.

Two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers — the USS Spruance and the USS Preble — conducted

a Freedom-of-Navigation operation on 11th Feb.

They sailed within 12 nautical miles of Chinese occupied Spratly Islands.

China claims almost all of the South China Sea and is trying to establish de facto control

of the waters.

It wants all ships & aircraft navigating in the area to identify itself to the Chinese Navy.

Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, and Taiwan also have claims on these waters but

China has outmuscled them and set up military infrastructure in the many islands including

the Spratly Islands.

The South China Sea route is significant as about $5 trillion in trade and almost 50%

world's oil shipment passes through it each year.

The waters are also thought to have 11 billion barrels of untapped oil and 190 trillion cubic

feet of natural gas.

Countries like the US, Japan and India have no claims in the area and want 'Freedom

of Navigation' as per international maritime laws.

Cmdr.

Clay Doss, a US Navy 7th Fleet spokesman, told CNN that the purpose was "to challenge

excessive maritime claims and preserve access to the waterways as well as to show that the

US will fly, sail, and operate wherever international law allows"

Viewers may note that the US conducts Freedom-of-Navigation regularly.

As usual, Beijing has reacted to the operation sharp manner

As reported by the South China Morning Post, Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman, Hua

Chunying, accused the US of entering Chinese waters without permission and engaging in

provocations that threaten China's sovereignty, In this video, Defense Updates analyses why

China should fear USS Spruance and USS Preble?

Let's get started.

USS Spruance (DDG-111) and the USS Preble (DDG-88) are Arleigh Burke Class guided missile

destroyer of U.S Navy.

Arleigh Burke-class warships were designed as multi-mission destroyers capable of Anti

Aircraft Warfare (AAW), Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti Surface Warfare (ASuW).

The class is named for Admiral Arleigh Burke who was an American destroyer officer in World

War II and went to be Chief of Naval Operations.

U.S Navy has 66 Arleigh Burke-class warships in active service.

USS Spruance was named as named after Raymond A. Spruance, a U.S. Navy admiral.

It was built by Bath Iron Works and was commissioned on 1st October 2011

USS Preble was named as named after Commodore Edward Preble, who served in the American

Revolutionary War.

It was built by Ingalls Shipbuilding and was commissioned on 9th November 2002

USS Spruance & USS Preble being an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is among the largest

destroyers built in the United States.

Both have an overall length of 509 feet (155 m) and displacement of about 9,200 tons.

USS Spruance & USS Preble are powered by 4 × General Electric LM2500-30 gas turbines

producing 100,000 hp (75 MW) that drive 2 shafts.

They have a speed of 30+ knots (55+ km/h) and a range of 4,400 nmi (8,100 km)

The Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers (DDGs) is the United States Navy's

first class of destroyers built around the Aegis Combat System.

The Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System is a United States Department of Defense Missile

Defense Agency program, developed to provide missile defense against short to intermediate-range

ballistic missiles.

Aegis BMD is designed to intercept ballistic missiles post-boost phase and prior to reentry.

It enables USS Spruance & USS Preble to shoot down enemy ballistic missiles by expanding

the Aegis Combat System with the addition of the AN/SPY-1 radar and Standard missile

technologies.

Aegis BMD-equipped vessels can transmit their target detection information to other systems

and, if needed, engage potential threats using either the SM-2 or SM-3 missile.

SM-3 missile having a range of 2,500 km & speed of Mach 10.2 is especially suited for this task.

The heart of the AEGIS systems on board the USS Spruance & USS Preble is the AN/SPY-1

RADAR.

It is an advanced, automatic detect and track, multifunctional phased-array radar.

This high-powered (4 MW) radar is able to perform search, track and missile guidance

functions simultaneously with a capability of over 100 targets.

A conventional, mechanically rotating radar "sees" a target when the radar beam strikes

that target once during each 360-degree rotation of the antenna.

A separate tracking radar is then required to engage each target.

By contrast, the computer-controlled AN/SPY-1A Phased Array Radar of the AEGIS system brings

these functions together within one system.

The phased array can concentrate energy where it is needed.

The operator can boost the range and resolution in a particular direction without blinding

the ship to threats from another side.

The 4 fixed arrays of "SPY" send out beams of electromagnetic energy in all directions

simultaneously, continuously providing a search and tracking capability for hundreds of targets

at the same time.

USS Spruance & USS Preble are very well equipped and is designed to be a multi-weapons platform

It has in total 96 cell Mk 41 Vertical Launch System (VLS) divided into two blocks of 32

& 64 cells.

These can be configured with the combination of the following weapons, based on mission.

1. BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missile for Land attack

2. RIM-66 Standard Missile 2 (SM 2) Surface to Air Missile for air defense

3. RIM-161 Standard Missile 3 (SM-3) for AEGIS ballistic missile defense

It also has 2 × Mk 141 Harpoon Missile Launcher for Anti Ship role.

2 × Mark 32 triple torpedo tubes are present launching Mk-46 or Mk-50 torpedoes

2 MH-60R Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters are also present for Anti Submarine Warfare.

Other than these, it is equipped with a long-range 5-inch naval gun.

There is multiple short-range weapon systems which include the Phalanx CIWS and M242 Bushmaster cannon.

Who actually pays for your credit card rewards? - Duration: 5:28.

This is Brian Kelly.

You'll often find him traveling...

I've been to Ghana now ten times.

I got to visit Liberia.

Took my parents to South Africa.

I love flying Emirates first class — it's gaudy, it's gold.

You get caviar.

So Brian traveled to all these places basically for free. And he did it using credit card rewards.

Banks promise offers like cashback, bonus miles, and cash bonuses

to get you to sign up and spend.

And it's rewards like these that people like Brian have become masters at maximizing.

Ultimately though, someone is paying for these credit card rewards.

And there's a hidden battle going on over their future.

During the Great Recession, some of the biggest US banks —

Wells Fargo, JP Morgan and Bank of America —

had a problem.

They weren't making as much money from mortgages.

So they shifted their business to credit cards.

And in order to get customers to sign up and spend on their cards they offered bigger and

better rewards.

"In 2011 we saw our first ever 100,000 point offer, Chase offered on a British Airways Visa.

100,000 points for a credit card.

It was wild!

And really I think what JP Morgan/Chase was doing was thinking we gotta focus more on

consumer lending and not just on that corporate lending or even mortgages.

As banks expanded rewards, more people starting using rewards cards.

By 2018, 92% of all credit card purchases were made on rewards credit cards.

That's up from just 67% in 2008.

But it's not the banks that ultimately pay for these rewards.

When a customer uses a credit card to buy something, the store is charged what's called

an interchange fee.

That fee is a percentage of the total sale.

It's the bank that issued the card collects the interchange fee.

And it's this money that they heavily rely on to pay for cardholder rewards.

They're making money on your annual fee and on interest.

But the big way with these premium credit cards is the interchange fee.

That's the bread and butter.

Interchange fees aren't the same across all credit cards.

Cards with no low rewards typically have an interchange of about 1.5% of the purchase price,

while cards with bigger rewards can have an interchange fee of nearly 3%.

And the divide between these two types of cards has increased.

Banks can make about $0.25 more per average purchase if the customer uses a premium rewards

card over a basic one.

In 2017, retailers paid card issuers $43.4 billion dollars in interchange fees.

So it's no surprise that stores aren't a huge fan of these credit card rewards.

They don't really want to pay for your free trip to South Africa.

Most stores don't have have negotiating power over these interchange fees.

Payment networks like Visa and Mastercard require them to "honor all cards" which

means they have to accept both low fee and high fee credit cards.

And as a result some stores reported that they've increased retail prices in order

to make up for the cost of accepting credit cards.

Which means even if you don't have a rewards credit card, you may still be paying for those rewards.

So if you're paying cash, you're basically paying for my points.

So it can be argued that people who can't obtain credit, those with lower incomes are

basically funding the system for others.

Others will basically say, well the merchants get paid more, they get paid on time, there's

less theft when people use credit cards.

It's an interesting ecosystem.

I won't get into the ethics but I will maximize my part of it.

Some major retailers have indicated that they'll

challenge the "honor all cards" rule so that they can reject cards with higher fees.

And if stores succeed at driving down interchange fees, banks are likely to respond

by chopping rewards.

This isn't a hypothetical outcome.

When credit card interchange fees were capped at .3% in Europe, banks responded by cutting rewards.

For now, with so many credit card rewards out there, it's hard to know which deals

are better than others.

But with the cost of these rewards built into the things that we buy everyday, just using a rewards

card at all can be beneficial.

If you're using a debit card or god forbid, cash, for

purchases, you're literally leaving points and money on the table.

It's like throwing money away every time you use cash.

So get debt free, get disciplined with your finances, put your expenses on each month,

pay them off, earn the points,

and avoid interest.

That's how you win at the points game.

So Brian Kelly, the card rewards expert in this video

had a lot of great tips about how to get the most out of your credit card rewards.

We didn't have time to include them all in this video,

but I wanted to share them with you in a video extra.

Hunt for Shackletons lost ship is abandoned after underwater craft is trapped in a sheet of ice Da - Duration: 6:49.

Hunt for Shackletons lost ship is abandoned after underwater craft is trapped in a sheet of ice Da

The search for Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackletons lost Endurance ship has been called off, after extreme weather trapped an underwater vehicle in a sheet of ice.

Severe weather closed in and the sea ice conditions in the Antarctic led to the loss of the AUV7, a specialist submersible autonomous underwater vehicle, which was deployed to locate the wreck using HD still colour cameras.

The Weddell Sea Expedition team was on the final leg of the mission when the vehicle entered underneath a vast sheet of floating ice to take images of the legendary ship but contact was lost with the Expedition research vessel, the S.A. Agulhas II.

The search for Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackletons lost Endurance ship pictured has been called off, after extreme weather trapped an underwater vehicle in a sheet of ice

The Weddell Sea Expedition team was on the final leg of the mission when the vehicle entered underneath a vast sheet of floating ice to take images of the legendary ship but contact was lost with the Expedition research vessel, the S.A. Agulhas II pictured

The Larsen C Ice shelf is the fourth largest in the Antarctic and only a handful of ships have navigated the area and where The Endurance was abandoned deep in the ice

Despite efforts to recover the AUV7, the team decided to abandon the mission due to risks of becoming themselves trapped in the ice.

Any captured footage that may have been of Endurance on the seabed was lost.

The AUV7 had conducted what is believed to be the longest and deepest dedicated under ice survey ever, lasting over 30 hours.

Dr John Shears, polar geographer and expedition leader, said: The Weddell Sea Expedition team are truly disappointed that after such a huge effort, and overcoming several major setbacks, we have not been able to find Endurance.

Sir Ernest Shackleton pictured in 1922, seven years after he lost The Endurance

We are, however, very proud of our other achievements over the past weeks in Antarctica.

We have greatly surpassed our primary Expedition objective of undertaking pioneering scientific research at the Larsen C Ice Shelf.

We have also conducted an unprecedented educational outreach programme, allowing children from around the world to engage in real time with the expedition and our adventures from the outset.

We will shortly begin our return leg to Cape Town, after an expedition which has been my great privilege and honour to lead.

The Expedition team, and the officers and crew of the S.A. Agulhas II, have been simply outstanding.

I would also like to thank The Flotilla Foundation, and all of our partners who have all played a key role in supporting this incredible expedition.

Sir Ernest Shackletons ship, Endurance, was crushed by ice and sank in 1915.

The search for Endurance was part of a ground breaking scientific research programme in the waters around the Larsen C Ice Shelf and the A 68 Iceberg in Antarctica.

The international team of glaciologists, marine biologists and oceanographers involved in the Expedition have surveyed the seafloor and the rich and little studied biological systems that lie beneath the ice infested sea.

The conditions we are facing are challenging. There is an ice floe moving in from the West and air temperatures have dropped to below 14 degree centigrade. It gives us a sense of the harsh, unforgiving time that Shackleton and his men endured out here.

The explorers hoped to find the wreck of the Endurance pictured before their submersible vehicle was lost

SA Aguilas II features a helipad on the rear of the hull and a large crane at the front which can be used to weaken the ice ahead

The ice ridden Weddell Sea surrounds the Larsen C Ice Shelf where The Endurance became trapped for months in 1915

Mensun Bound, director of exploration on the expedition, said: As a team we are clearly disappointed not to have been successful in our mission to find Endurance.

Like Shackleton before us, who described the graveyard of Endurance as the worst portion of the worst sea in the world, our well laid plans were overcome by the rapidly moving ice, and what Shackleton called the evil conditions of The Weddell Sea.

We are pleased to have brought the story of Shackleton and Endurance to new audiences, and to the next generation, who will be entrusted with the essential safeguarding of our polar regions, and our planet more broadly.

We hope our adventure will have engaged young people about the pioneering spirit, courage and fortitude of those who sailed with Endurance to Antarctica.

We pay tribute to the navigational skills of Frank Worsley, the captain of the Endurance, whose detailed records were invaluable in our reaching the area where she was lost.

Shackletons attempt to cross Antarctica began in 1914.

After the vessel became trapped in ice for 10 months and then sank, the explorer and his crew survived for six months before reaching uninhabited Elephant Island.

Shackleton and five other men then set off to seek help at a whaling station on the island of South Georgia.

After three unsuccessful attempts, Shackleton finally rescued his men in August 1916.

The Weddell Sea Expedition team says it may attempt the mission again.

Newsom blames the media, not his own words, for confusion over high speed rails future Los Angeles - Duration: 6:32.

Newsom blames the media, not his own words, for confusion over high speed rails future Los Angeles

In the early moments of Gavin Newsoms first State of the State address, Californias new governor promised to talk frankly and directly on tough calls, including the future of the states rail system.

Then he triggered mass confusion over the fate of the states dollar 77 billion high speed rail project.

In the hours that followed Tuesdays speech, President Trump demanded California , and headlines proclaimed the Democratic governor was abandoning the ambitious project championed by his predecessors a story line that Newsom asserted is completely made up and one that his team has scrambled to walk back.

Im baffled by it, said Rob Stutzman, former communications director to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Its very perplexing as to how something so important would be so dramatically miscommunicated.

Standing in an elementary school library Thursday in Magalia, a Butte County town heavily damaged in the Camp fire last year, Newsom told The Times that he too was a bit perplexed but by reporters misconstruing his words.

I just think people in the media should pause before they run headlines and actually consider the facts and maybe even ask the person thats stating things before they run with things, Newsom said. Thats the deep lesson I learned in this.

In his speech, Newsom began by paying respect to the vision of Schwarzenegger and former Gov. Jerry Brown, who both supported a plan to build a bullet train capable of hitting 200 miles per hour from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

The 51 year old governor said that he shares that vision and that the economy and quality of life in California hinge on improving transportation.

But lets be real, Newsom said to lawmakers gathered for Tuesdays speech. The current project, as planned, would cost too much and respectfully take too long. Theres been too little oversight and not enough transparency.

Right now, there simply isnt a path to get from Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to L.A., Newsom said. I wish there were. However, we do have the capacity to complete a high speed rail link between Merced and Bakersfield.

He guessed that critics would label it a train to nowhere, which he called wrong and offensive.

High speed rail is more than a train project, Newsom said. Its about economic transformation, and its about unlocking the enormous potential of the [Central] Valley.

Within minutes, the first headlines appeared.

An Associated Press story led with this: California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday hes abandoning a plan to build a high speed rail line between Los Angeles and San Francisco, a project with an estimated cost that has ballooned to dollar 77 billion.

Another headline from the Fresno Bee editorial board read: Three words change the fate of high speed rail, and with it, the Valleys future.

Dozens of publications offered varying interpretations.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a staunch opponent of the project, seized on the moment.

The train to nowhere is finally stopped. This is the right move by .

The train to nowhere is finally stopped, the Republican from Bakersfield tweeted. I look forward to working w/ Governor Newsom and federal officials in the coming weeks to best mitigate what has already been wasted on high speed rail due to the previous administration.

Newsoms communications office began calling reporters to clarify the governors statements.

What he said is we are refocusing to get a finished product from Bakersfield to Merced, the governors spokesman, Nathan Click, said as the narrative spread.

Governor Newsom fully committed to high speed rail as part of All in California economic transformation, and clean energy future, tweeted Ann OLeary, his chief of staff.

Lawmakers and outside groups friendly to Newsom attempted to stomp down assertions that he would finish anything less than the existing plan.

He said we must focus on completing Central Valley segment then move forward from there, state Sen. Scott Wiener D San Francisco wrote on Twitter. Bay Area LA must be will be part of CAs high speed rail network.

Newsom did not specifically say he was killing the project entirely or ending efforts to secure more funding. Rather, he said that the state would complete the Merced to Bakersfield line, the first phase of environmental work and continue to support our regional projects north and south. Days later, the governor clarified that he meant regional work that has already been funded, including but not limited to the electrification of a commuter rail line from San Jose to San Francisco called the Caltrain and improvements at Union Station in Los Angeles.

The governor said Thursday that he publicly expressed thoughts in his speech that others have said in private, in an effort to be more honest and accountable about the reality of the project.

The money that exists will allow us that 171 mile system, he said. Beyond that theres no identifiable money. I also made that point. Everyone knows that. I said it. But that doesnt mean we give up.

Trump entered the fray more than 24 hours after Newsoms speech much later than expected.

California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars, Trump tweeted. They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a green disaster!

Newsom tweeted back and called Trumps words fake news. He asked if the president was desperately searching for money for his border wall with Mexico.

Were building high speed rail, connecting the Central Valley and beyond, Newsom tweeted. This is CAs money, allocated by Congress for this project. Were not giving it back. The train is leaving the station better get on board!

Then, on Thursday, the governor blamed the Associated Press.

There was an AP headline that really confounded us that I think created this firestorm, respectfully, Newsom said in an interview with The Times. Im not impugning anyone, but that, I think, led to a lot of they just heard the first line and didnt listen to anything else in the speech.

The AP said it stands by its story.

The Associated Press reported what the governor said during his State of the State address, Lauren Easton, director of media relations at the AP, said in a statement. When AP later received additional comment from the governors office, we updated the story.

Stutzman, the former aide to Schwarzenegger, said the pushback from the governors office was more confusing than the speech itself.

You cant put this one on the press, Stutzman said. Mean what you say and say what you mean. To me, it was very clear that he was going to resize the scope of [the bullet train], finish what they started and then get out of it.

Stutzman said major speeches are typically vetted repeatedly and aides are tasked with understanding how words would be interpreted by different groups.

Newsoms office selectively shared information about his plans before the speech.

Reporters received the text of the address minutes before Newsom walked into the Assembly chamber. The governors office briefed the State Building Construction Trades Council of California before the speech, but only by saying the governor planned to discuss the rail project, said Cesar Diaz, the councils legislative and political director.

Afterward, Diaz said, the council urged the governors office to clarify his plans.

The project itself is an integral part of moving us from an economy that depends on freeways and so forth, Diaz said. We know that rail works. We believe in tightening up and more accountability. The governors changes could be a shot of energy to get this project up and running.

Carl Guardino, chief executive of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, said he received a clear explanation of the governors support for a valley to valley bullet train in private briefings, both before and after the speech.

Why did I walk away with a much more positive view? Guardino said. That is why.

- That side, 2nd street - Where in that 2nd street?

Get lost...pestering me early in the morning

How do we go ask? Is she the district collector?

If you feel awkward I'll enquire

Don't get angry

It's locked That man was right

What are you looking at?

Checking to see if any house is available for rent

Nothing of that sort here...go

No ma...that house...

Rosie who was a hooker is now a flower vendor

All her clients kept pestering her

So she vacated and left this city

- Please give me some water - Wait I'll get you

- Velu, for you? - No need

Give the knife to me You might hurt yourself

Take this knife from him He's playing with it

Who gave you a knife?

I don't know how I can bring up a child like this

Give it to me You'll cut your hand

This is all for you

You want a shirt? I'll buy it for you

He understands much better now

His parents abandoned him They won't prosper

- Don't keep repeating this - You are an angel...

If my brother was like this, won't I take care?

Jothi, what are you doing? Come right now

You never listen to me

Don't yell...she is an angel

I told you we have to visit the temple today

Why do you keep pestering Jothi?

She's only helping this boy

Being helpful is bringing only trouble!

Her father also died helping everyone

Mother

Stop protesting Let me comb your hair

Velu, what is he looking at?

Oho! She lives here

We must go to the temple Won't you be late for work?

That's why 'our man' escaped

Go to school like a good boy I'll pick you up in the evening

Do you want this?

- How much? - Rs 2

Okay, give me

'Love and lovers are weird'

'Many love Some are loved'

'Love is beyond season and reason'

Thank God our boss didn't see this

Keep it in carefully

He has taken photos of girls on the roadside instead of me

Roadside?

Are you cutting me or that girl?

You kept that girl and cut me off I thought you don't like that girl?

Did I tell you that?

Oho! Story takes a turn that way!

How did you suddenly fall for her?

We went to see Rosie She also lives there

- Even I saw - Did you?

I also saw you escaping from your mother-in-law!

Get lost!

Okay...continue

She is very fond of that retard boy, her neighbor

I was reminded of my mother

My mother also helped without strings attached

She shares that same quality

If I get her, it will be like I got back mother in my life

You will...that's why her photo is close to your heart

Why don't you profess your love to her?

As it is, we started on the wrong foot

Her mother saw me give money to Rosie and misunderstood

She yelled at me in front of that girl

How can I profess my love now?

Don't mind all that Go tell her 1st

I will but...

Must wait for an appropriate time

I've kept jasmine here 8 cubits Rs 80 so far

Take the money in the evening

Aarthi's mother is praising you sky-high to everyone, Jothi

Why?

You found her wedding ring that she'd lost, it seems

Oh that!

Must be blessed to have a child like you! Look at mine

Scum bag!

Bro?

Bless you

"I'll reach for the sky and follow through I'll walk the ends of the earth for you"

"Within the shelter of your delightful dimple"

"...my flights of fancy sprouted wings in multiple"

Some creatures are too thick skinned to understand

Roadside Romeo Must hit them with a broomstick

Did you tell?

I intended to, today

But her mother wants to hit me with a broomstick!

I don't know how I'll ever manage to say it

How can I? Give me an idea

Why don't you repeat that hero's dialog?

Stuff your idea down your throat!

You and your idea

El Chapo's cancer-stricken daughter says she was reprimanded for 'misbehaving' when they last met - Duration: 5:10.

She will forever remain daddy's little girl but she won't forget her last encounter with her father who is the leader of the world's most famous drug cartel and could now be spending the rest of his life in jail

An emotional Rosa Isela Guzmán recalled the last time she met with Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, 61, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel around three years ago

She said he chided her for bad behavior although she did not elaborate on what that was

'[He] scolded me because I was misbehaving,' she said.Rosa, who is in her early 40s, said during an interview with Univision: '[I want] to tell the president of the United States to respect the rights of my father

'If he committed a crime, that's fine, he has to pay for it.But be fair, treat him as a person

' The meeting with his eldest daughter took place about a year before he was captured during a January 2017 raid in Mexico, leading to his extradition to the United States

On Tuesday El Chapo was found guilty of all 10 charges, capping off a trial that lasted three months in a Brooklyn, New York, federal court

Rosa, one of El Chapo's 13 children, who is in remission from cancer, said she has asked her lawyers to reach out to her father's legal team to set up a meeting with her dad

The mother-of-four, who was born in Mexico but holds U.S.citizenship, was once married to and had two children with Vicente Zambada Niebla, whose father is Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, 71, and led the Sinaloa Cartel with El Chapo before assuming total control of the criminal organization

Her former husband was arrested in 2009 and extradited to the U.S.He entered a plea agreement with U

S.justice officials in 2014 and was sentenced to 10 years after admitting to working for El Chapo

However, El Mayo has proven to be an illusive figure and is wanted by the U.S.government

Rosa spoke about how El Chapo was a good father.'He was always a person who always gave good examples to us,' she said

'I work and he always said that he was proud of me because I was very hardworking

He was proud of me.He always told me.' El Chapo's trial offered gruesome details of how he spearheaded an international organization that relied on murder, kidnap and torture to get its message across and reach its goals

Prosecutors said El Chapo built a $14 billion fortune, and was responsible for 33 murders and trafficking more than 220 tons of cocaine as well as vast quantities of other drugs to America, Europe and the rest of the world

But the distraught daughter, who along with her family members was not called to the witness stand at any point in the trial, said she had no knowledge of his dealings

El Chapo is scheduled to be sentenced to life in a maximum-security prison without the possibility of parole in June

'I don't know what he is going to feel, that he will not see us anymore because his adoration was his family, his children and his mother

Hartley set for Le Mans return with RLR MSport - Duration: 2:32.

The two-time FIA World Endurance Championship title winner, who raced for Toro Rosso in F1 last year, appears on the verge of a deal to drive the British RLR MSport team's LMP2 class Oreca 07 at Le Mans

Hartley is known to be the high-profile signing RLR team boss Nick Reynolds has talked about as a replacement for Rebellion WEC driver Bruno Senna, who will race the car in the European Le Mans Series this year alongside Arjun Maini and John Farano

Reynolds told Motorsport.com he "couldn't comment" on the possibility of Hartley joining Maini and Farano at the final round of the 2018/19 WEC superseason, when Senna will be on duty with Rebellion

He said that contractual negotiations had proved "more complicated that they were meant to be", but promised an announcement within the next week

Hartley, 29, already has a relationship with RLR after making his first steps in sportscar racing in 2012 driving an Oreca P2 car run by the Bolton-based team under the Murphy Prototypes banner

One of his teammates at Le Mans the following year, when Murphy had set up its own operation, was Karun Chandhok, who manages Formula 2 convert Maini

RLR will make its Le Mans debut this year under its own name after gaining an automatic entry for winning the 2018 ELMS LMP3 title

Hartley, who is now part of the Ferrari F1 team's simulator programme, will make his sportscar return in the WEC at the Sebring 1000 Miles next month with the SMP Racing LMP1 team

He will drive the #11 BR Engineering BR1 at Sebring and then at the Spa round in May in place of Jenson Button, whose Super GT Series commitments will prevent him from contesting those races
