The Edge of Wonder

Presents, Contact in the Desert 2018.

( uplifting music )

Special guest featuring Emery Smith

- [Voiceover] It started in November 2017

He lost all of his family and even had

three assassination attempts on his life,

just to disclose the truth for you.

Now, let's meet Emery Smith.

Hey guys, this is amazing!

We're at Contact in the Desert

with one of the coolest people here, Emery Smith.

- [Rob] He's really one of the

rock stars of the entire event.

- [Ben] You are like a rock star here,

I mean everyone's like, ( mumbles )

and you're so funny and you're just so likable.

- [Emery] I just love everyone, I have a great time here

and it's like all the like minds,

so you know it's a place where I can be myself

and not be edited by TV and you know,

you guys let me say whatever the heck I want,

so, I like the questions ( mumbles ),

how it's received by everyone and that keeps me pumped.

- [Ben] That's awesome, so explain to us,

I mean you're really focusing a lot on this

healing aspect of all this new technology

that's coming out, you're like

the main person driving this.

- [Emery] Yeah, I mean, the thing is,

my whole thing is regenerative medicine

and also the new technologies

that I've been working with and the projects

and trying to get all this technology out slowly,

in a safe way, so people can get these cures

and can get these devices, because,

everyone can be their own physician

in their own home, we don't need to have all this,

I mean of course, there is, emergency situations,

you know if there's an emergency situation,

I'm in a car accident or something like that,

of course, I wanna be saved,

You know by some paramedics in the ambulance,

but there's a lot of other things,

it's just that we need the educate the world on it.

As far as treating self-diagnosis,

what you can do at home with herbal supplements

and things like this and also using frequency devices,

that all these amazing inventors around the world have,

but they're basically, you know..

Especially in the United States, a lot of these things

are sustained from coming here

and they're just suppressed.

The post office will take these devices

and not allow, you know people here in the states

to have these things and it's just not fair.

- [Ben] So, what can we ( mumbles ),

is this changing, is this.... - [Emery] It's changing,

You know the good thing about it,

is that there are a lot of white hats in the government

and they do see these things.

You know, changing, they see that

their families also need this,

they get sick too, believe it or not.

So, people are now kinda coming together

and like, wow, how can I get that device from Germany?

You know and this is raising a lot of suspicion

because, it's kind of illegal for them

to be taking, you know devices,

that come in and taking circuits out of them

so they don't work properly when they get here

because they cure people and Big Pharma doesn't like that.

- [Ben] Umm, yeah. - [Rob] That really is

what we're up against here,

I mean we have all of these corporations,

in charge of all of the different devices

and things that can help you and,

all of this stuff has been secret for

such a long time as it sounds, right?

- [Emery] Yeah and I think (mumbles)

the way to hit this is education

and that's getting out, talking about the different devices,

training people how to treat themselves

and empowering people and letting them have a choice,

if they want stem cells or they want a knee replacement

or they want, some hardware installed in their bodies

coz no one's every actually given them a chance,

physicians are trained, American Medical Association

trains them, on protocol: step one, step two, step three

and that's all they have, so when I go to the doctor,

I'm paying for this visit and I'm going to trust you

because I don't know what I'm talking about

and I'm gonna do whatever you say,

even though there might be something out there

that they don't know about, that they could offer.

So, I'm out there educating the world

and you know, trying to get (mumbles)

these new modalities put in place.

So, we don't have to have all this excess surgery

and all this excess complications

that come along with surgery.

- [Rob] Is there an Emery approved site,

where our audience can find some of these devices

that you think are good for humanity?

- [Emery] Well you know, I just came forward here

with everything and we have emerysmith.net

that we're gonna be building on right now.

So, excuse that but it is coming

and we're gonna start doing more

educational videos and start zerocross.co,

the production company that we have.

So, all of these new things are coming out,

we do have some new supplements,

also they are coming out, they are very organic and natural,

that'll help increase zeta wave formats

to help change the voltage of the body

to the right homeostasis, so it can heal itself.

- [Ben] When do you think these technologies,

we'll start seeing these, coming into

- [Emery] I mean they are already,

Since I've come forward in November

there's already 50 different amazing technologies

that were classified at that time

now they're, the corporations are fighting over the patents

they're like, well they already talked about it

someone's gotta get this out now

So, it's good thing that we're talking about it on stage

because, it's kind of exposing it,

but I'm doing it in a, kind of a safe way

without, you know, upsetting too many

medical manufacturers and corporations.

- [Ben] Well that's like a huge question,

I mean, safety for you, for like your life,

I mean it's a huge issue.

- [Emery] That's been a problem, you know,

three assassination attempts just this year alone

and it's more ( mumbles ) what's funny is,

They're more upset about me talking

about the energy devices, that make anergy,

they're all more upset about me talking about

regenerative medicine and all the things that can heal

and then to me, going on stage,

talking about extra terrestrials,

because there's no money in extra terrestrials

for the government, you follow me

Isn't that crazy, it's like insane

At the same time, here I was in court

just like four weeks ago,

defending my patents and in court,

they wanted to do a gag order ( mumbles )

We do not want Emery Smith, out there,

teaching people these cures,

we want to slowly release this information over 10-20 years.

No, we have the cures now,

we're gonna do it now, and that's it.

- [Rob] Thank you so much for being with us.

- [Ben] One more final question (mumbles), sorry.

What motivates you, to keep you doing what you're doing,

- [Emery] You guys, all you,

because if you weren't backing me up,

I would not be doing this, because it's just so dangerous

and I've already lost all my family,

they just killed my dog recently and you know intentionally.

- [Rob] I'm sorry man. - [Emery] That's okay.

We're gonna keep going, I'm not stopping.

- [Rob] That's the spirit.

That's awesome, Emery Smith, thank you so much

for being with us, Contact in the Desert 2018.

Until next time, we'll see you out..

- [Ben] On the edge.

( uplifting music )

- [Emery] Many pharmaceutical corporations

have used their technology from the DNA, from the starts

to help us, you know heal certain genetic factors

and now you're hearing about in science,

that they are working on, you know,

we can do gene sequencing, where we can,

you know, find just one gene in there

and we can manipulate that gene,

so you don't have to have this problem anymore

and that is true and that's all

because of the technology through

what they have been doing, for the last 30-40 years

but the new protein that they just discovered,

is a protease inhibitor which blocks inflammation,

and all disease and trauma starts with inflammation.

You're body is an amazing body,

and you don't really need anything, it can do it

and that's why I developed, my patented technology

where I concentrate the healing properties of your blood

and inject it into the peripheral bloodstream

or into your joints, so you don't have to have surgery

coz you're body can regenerate, it just needs some help.

So we've figured out if you decrease all the inflammation

in the body, not only will you not have cancer

and things like this but we can actually,

extend the telomeres and change the frequency of the DNA,

so it's in a more homeostasis mode,

and to keep the body in the homeostasis mode

is the most important thing for it to be functional.

Google Home New Updates and New Features for June 15 2018 - Duration: 6:53.

Hello everyone. Thanks for tuning in again. It's been a couple of weeks since

I've given you a Google Home and a Google Assistant update for new products

and new features in 2018 related to those great voice assistants. Let's get going. The big

news this week related to the Google Home is the fact that it can now handle

three queries at once from you. So go ahead, put an "and" between your

three queries and you can go ahead and you'll get three things to action from

Google Home. I've been doing it already in my home. It's an instant update and

it's instantly available for you in all kinds of countries. One of the things

that we're starting to see is the entry of Smart Display settings and features

in the Google Home application. So we are now seeing when you're looking at

different settings, and even some of the applications in the Google

Assistant store, we're starting to see if something is available for a Smart

Display (with Google Assistant) it's actually saying it at the bottom of the page there now. On that

note, Lenovo came out, they had for a small time on the B&H website, I think

this was a mistake, there was a pre-order opportunity for

two of their Smart Displays with the Google Assistant on board. So get ready

for those. Those are going to come out and I think you're going to see a lot of

pre-orders from a lot of different makers now that it's being integrated

into the Google Home and the Google Assistant applications. Xbox One is going

to get both the Alexa Voice Assistant and the Google Assistant here. It's not quite

clear today whether or not Alexa and the Google Assistant are going to be able to

control everything on your Xbox, but this feature is coming for Xbox users and

you're going to be able to choose Google Assistant over Microsoft's own Cortana. Every

couple of mornings, I head down to a Starbucks and I go I get a coffee and I

use the app to pay for it. Now you can of course order ahead right now, but what's

even better is now with your Google Assistant or

your Google Home, you can go ahead and order Starbucks, as well as from

Applebee's, and from Dunkin' Donuts. So a lot of new makers or a lot of new

coffee shops. They're ready for you to go ahead and order through your voice

assistant, and then you can just show and and the payment's already complete

through your Starbucks app. Something that we've seen back and forth between

Google and Amazon is a real battle in terms of trying to get kids using their

voice assistants. Now the Google Assistant has four new apps associated

with it. Some of these are pretty familiar names. There's Learning Time

with Timmy, Moshi Twilight, Little Baby Bum, who really grew up on YouTube, and

HarperCollins, which is a big children's book maker. So these applications

that are available from these different children's content builders, they're

going to help you with routines with your toddler, they're going to help you

with night time with your toddler, there are storybook applications, there's all

kinds of opportunities here for you to get extra functionality out of your

Google Home or your Google Assistant, and really help your child understand

something. As we've seen in the past Google Assistant continues to develop

and grow out in all kinds of countries around the world. Google Assistant is now available in

Thai on both tablets and phones. So again more languages jumping into the Google

Assistant, and these are always precursors to the Google Home showing up

in those markets. So I think we know where Google Home is headed next. Now in

a previous video I mispronounced something and I'm not going to do it here.

But a major major French grocery store, Carrefour, which is actually the largest grocery retailer in

France has actually teamed up with Google. And if you've been paying

attention to what Google is doing on the retail front, this is a pairing

made in heaven so to speak. And what they're basically doing is they're

fighting Amazon's expansion in France in terms of grocery and retail growth, but

Google is also able to fight kind of fire with fire with a new or an improved

online store. If you've been following Google in terms of their

design, and some of their new code and what what they kind of announced as

their new standard design, they call it Material Design and Material Design is

being integrated into the Google Assistant, in the Google Home

applications, as we go forward here. There's a new "Coming Up For You" section

that has the new material design or material theme within it. The assistant

app through this gains a section called "Keep Track of Things" which they're

thinking will include the orders and reservations, upcoming trips, notes, lists other things like that. The second large

redesign was basically around Podcasts and I think if you've used the Google

Assistant, or the Google Home application for that matter, to try and find a

podcast, it's pretty much impossible. So here now we have a new UI coming to the

Google Assistant app that helps you locate podcasts that you're going to

want to listen to. Alright everyone, so we're seeing some great updates from

Google related to the Smart Displays, some of those manufacturers are starting to

come along. Google is now getting that capability integrated into their apps.

We're also seeing the Google Home continue to expand, and on that note come

back to the channel here in just a couple of days, I'm going to tell you

when all these new features are coming. Or I'm at least going to tell you what

Google has told me about when all the new features are coming that were

announced at Google I/O 2018, or for the features that you've been waiting for a

long time. I know lots of countries have been waiting, so stay tuned for that.

That's coming in a couple of days everyone. Otherwise, thanks for watching.

Make sure you hit the subscribe button at the end

here, and you'll get that notification related to the new features coming from

Google I/O.

Ramadan: How will fasting for a month affect World Cup stars? - Duration: 13:15.

Ramadan: How will fasting for a month affect World Cup stars?

With a crucial World Cup qualifier later that evening, Saudi Arabias players hadnt had anything to eat or drink for almost 10 hours.

Their match against Australia in Adelaide was scheduled for a 7:30pm kick off, nearly two weeks after the start of Ramadan in 2017.

Victory would have all but assured them a place at Russia 2018, but a narrow 3-2 defeat ensured a nervy qualification campaign would go down to the final fixture three months later, with Saudi Arabia narrowly beating Japan to finish second ahead of Australia only on goal difference.

Roel Coumans, conditioning coach to then-Saudi Arabia manager Bert van Marwijk, believes that defeat to Australia was due to the effects of his players fasting. I just simply explained it to the players after the game, Coumans told CNN Sport.

I said to them: Youre going to drive into the desert -- I took a picture of Saudi Arabia -- and 100km further there is an oasis.

But you only put gasoline in for 50km and then you still expect that you will get to that spot? And then they understood it.     Saudi Arabia started the match well, twice coming from behind to go into half-time level.

In the second half, however, their performance dropped and Australia scored the winning goal after 64 minutes. With sunset in Adelaide soon after 5 p.m.

in June, the squad -- minus the four players who chose to not observe Ramadan at that time -- were only able to have their first meal of the day about three hours before kickoff.

When youre in a top sport you will do everything that influences your performance and I think nutrition is one of the biggest key points for recovery, Coumans explains.

But also your energy level and if you have low energy intake, what do you expect? The body has enough for about 45 minutes to an hour and that was exactly what we saw in our performances.

After an hour we had a break down. We had only four players who were eating for the whole week. Despite being unable to eat during daylight hours throughout Ramadan, Coumans says training sessions initially werent an issue in that international window.

Because of the early sundown in the Australian winter, van Marwijk and Coumans organized training for the players in the evening after they had broken fast at sunset.

However, as the week wore on, the players, unable to maintain their energy levels, instead had to conserve themselves for the match later that week.

It was more of a problem that you dont recover well in the days after training, Coumans explains.

Then they eat but before the next training they dont have enough fuel in their body and that means they wont recover for the next training session and the next session will be less intense.

Then after seven or eight days there was a match and you dont have enough storage. Dino Maamria, a former Tunisian professional footballer who observed Ramadan in his playing days, agrees with Coumans.

The 47-year-old, now a manager in England, says he wouldnt have recommended the Saudi Arabia players fast in the lead up to the World Cup and doesnt think 48 hours is enough time to refuel sufficiently.

I dont think its ideal for them to be fasting in preparation for that, he told CNN Sport. I dont think two days time will be enough for you to be ready.

What they can do is train at night time, but its still not ideal to be fasting and playing football or doing any athletic event.

Despite everything, you want your players to produce their best football, you cant do both, especially in an event like the World Cup.     Knowing how important this holy month is to Muslims, at the forefront of Coumans mind throughout the international break was being respectful towards his players beliefs, while also trying to maintain their physical well-being to the highest level possible.

Generally, Muslims who travel during Ramadan are exempted from fasting as long as they make up the days later.

We had a lot of questions before, Coumans said of his first experience coaching a Muslim national team. The president (of Saudia Arabias Football Federation) came and said: I will bring an Imam in and he will explain to players, dont worry theyre going to eat. Then when we were in Australia, there wasnt an Imam and one day nobody was at lunch -- only four players were there, two who were starting (the match).

It was an unusual situation for us but the coach said: Im not going to force them to eat, its their religion, I want to be respectful. In their first game at Russia 2018, Saudi Arabia fell to a comprehensive 5-0 defeat to hosts Russia -- the only nation in the competition ranked below them -- in what was a disappointing performance.

Saudi Arabias Football Federation wasnt immediately available for comment when asked about their World Cup preparations during Ramadan.     The science Sports scientist Dr.

Craig Duncan, who is now Coumans colleague with the Australia national team, believes sleep plays the most vital role in helping fasting players recover.

Unable to replenish their energy supplies with food and drink, rest begins to have an even more important part in eking out every possible ounce of energy. Its a very important time culturally and you have to respect that, he says.

However, it needs to be managed very carefully from a physiological perspective so the cultural beliefs can be taken into account and respected but also try and get maximum performance out of it. You have to manage the sleep and make sure that you maximize that and use the day to allow them to have naps because there is no doubt the fatigue increases because of the absence of the normal cycle of eating.     According to Matt Jones, Saudi Arabias nutrition specialist during that international window, the players would tend to sleep throughout most of the daylight hours, before breaking their fast with a glass of water and a small meal, usually including dates as is tradition.

They would then train for a couple of hours, before eating a large meal to recover fully. Another smaller meal would be eaten around 1 a.m.

and the players would eventually go to sleep around sunrise. The big thing is for them to sleep very well.

The tendency is for them to go to sleep late and to get into a difficult cycle so wed just really manage that, Duncan says.

If youve got a team that is all practicing or the majority of them then it becomes a little bit easier because you can manage training around the intake of food so it becomes somewhat easier.

Id really, really focus on the sleep; the training time and I think it can be done but its not easy. Its bigger than football isnt it. Saudi Arabia open the World Cup against hosts Russia Thursday.

Eid al-Fitr, the religious holiday which celebrates the end of Ramadan, is predicted to fall the day after, the same day Egypt, Morocco and Iran open their World Cup campaigns.

Tunisia, another Muslim-majority country, Nigeria and a host of other Muslim players who play for European countries will play their first matches in the following days.

The day is often celebrated elaborately, with families and friends often sharing large quantities of food. However, the long-term effects of fasting for a month cannot be compensated for in just 24 hours of regular food consumption.

I soon realized you cant be at your best if you dont fuel your body, Maamria adds. Getting educated, now I realize its not possible to do both.

After Ramadan, your body will take a few days to adjust back to eating again.

Its very, very difficult to play games as important as a World Cup qualifier or a World Cup game with players who are fasting and have not eaten or had anything to drink for 24 hours.     The player Maamria, currently earning his managerial stripes at Stevenage FC in Englands fourth tier, recalls the physical shock of trying to continue observing Ramadan when he left Tunisia for England.

With matches during Ramadan in his native league scheduled for 10 p.m., he says the physical effects of fasting were negated sufficiently to still be able to perform at a high level.

But I remember my first couple of seasons in England, he tells CNN Sport.

I was still trying to practice Ramadan and realized very, very quickly that I cant be the best I can be if Im playing in the morning and afternoon.

So obviously that affected me and I got to realize that if I want to give my football career all in, Ive got to sacrifice Ramadan. Scientifically, I realize now, after all the studies, you cant.

Actually its very, very important to fuel your body.

Nutrition in football and in sport in general is huge if you want to excel in what you do. In England, football clubs tend to train once in the morning, before taking a break for lunch and training again in the afternoon -- sometimes with double sessions.

While his teammates would refuel at lunch, Maamria was unable to have anything to eat or drink until sunset.

Matches as well, usually a three oclock kick off, you cant not eat or drink all day and then start a game at three oclock and expect to be at your best, he says.

As Tunisia is a Muslim-majority country and the domestic leagues rescheduled fixtures and training to accommodate Ramadan, Maamria never felt that observing a month of fasting impacted him physically there.

Obviously there is nobody taking advantage of it because everybody is doing the same, he says of his home nation. But in England it was definitely a disadvantage for me.

If Im playing against players that are strong, playing hard and fueling their bodies throughout the week and Im weak without any fluid in my body, of course Im not going to react quick enough, of course Im not going to be at my sharpest. But Maamria is well-aware of the mental strength of elite athletes who choose to fast during Ramadan, personally knowing the effort and dedication it takes, and believes it can carry them through.

I think on the mental side it drives you to be stronger, he says. It takes a lot of guts to fast and a lot of belief in what youre doing..

✅ Michigan Not Waiting Around For EPA To Fix Weak Rules On Lead In Drinking Water - Duration: 4:25.

Michigan could become the first state to get rid of lead pipes for drinking water thanks to new regulations that are stricter than the federal standards for the toxic metal

Gov. Rick Snyder (R) pushed the rewriting of the rules in the wake of the water crisis in Flint, where city residents were exposed to higher levels of lead in 2014 after state and local officials bungled enforcement of federal regulations

Under Safe Drinking Water Act rules, cities are supposed to monitor lead levels in water samples taken from kitchen faucets, and states are supposed to make sure they do it

Michigan failed in that responsibility, which Snyder admitted after independent testing in 2015 revealed elevated lead levels in Flint's water and in its children's blood

The Environmental Protection Agency knew about the problem before then, but didn't take action against the city under the federal Lead and Copper Rule because that's how lax the rule is

The EPA has been working on an updated version of the rule for years. Current Administrator Scott Pruitt has delayed the process further

"As a state, we could no longer afford to wait on needed changes at the federal level, so Michigan has stepped up to give our residents a smarter, safer rule ― one that better safeguards water systems in all communities," Snyder said Thursday in a press release

Under the state's new rules, public water utilities will have to replace all 500,000 lead service lines for drinking water across Michigan

The replacement process will start in 2021 and stretch over 20 years, with about 5 percent of lead lines switched out each year

Utilities will have to pay to replace the service lines they own.  The new rules also require more rigorous sampling of household tap water and set a slightly lower lead threshold for triggering faster pipe replacement

Second samples will be collected at sites served by lead service lines, and public education efforts will be expanded. Michigan's public water systems must submit a complete inventory and verification methodology by 2025

"Getting lead services lines out of the ground is the most effective way to reduce the potential for dangerous water contamination," Cyndi Roper, Michigan senior policy advocate at the Natural Resources Defense Council, said in a statement on Thursday

Concerns have been raised about the cost of implementing the tougher rules. Digging up and replacing a single lead service line can cost thousands of dollars

Flint is currently replacing its pipes with the help of nearly $100 million from the federal government.  "This rule is an important step forward in protecting all our drinking water from lead contamination," Bob Allison, deputy director for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, said in a statement on Tuesday

"Now the onus is on our state legislature to craft a bold, comprehensive plan to fund lead pipe removal without making drinking water unaffordable

"  Drinking water can become contaminated with lead if it touches lead pipes or plumbing materials, according to the EPA. No level of lead is safe, and lead exposure can affect children's IQ and cause anemia and kidney damage, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Lead paint and dust generally pose bigger exposure risks than drinking water.  In the late 19th and 20th centuries, many American cities actually required houses to be connected to water mains via lead pipes, despite known health dangers, because the metal is malleable and durable

In more recent years, public health officials have learned that even tiny amounts of lead exposure can harm human health

But no state other than Michigan has taken such an aggressive approach to drinking water safety.  "With these more stringent standards, Michigan will serve as a role model to other states looking to improve their own public health protections," Snyder said

Oprah Winfrey to create new TV shows for Apple - Duration: 2:28.

Oprah Winfrey to create new TV shows for Apple

Oprah Winfrey to create new TV shows for AppleApple, escalating its ambitions to rival Netflix as a top-shelf streaming outlet, said Friday that it signed a multi-year content partnership with Oprah Winfrey, one of TVs biggest stars, to create original series.

As usual, the company was scarce on details of exactly how, what and when Winfrey would contribute to Apple, though it said in statement that the shows will embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.

Apple wont even say how it plans to make available nearly a dozen scripted series its already announced, from the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, M. Night Shyamalan and Battlestar Galactica creator Ron Moore.

But Winfrey is expected to appear in at least some of the programs she helps create.

The deal is a major coup for the computer giant, and the next step in Winfreys show-business career, after she seemingly ruled out a presidential run after a recruitment movement sparked by her impassioned Oscars speech.

The former talk-show host already created her own cable network, OWN, in 2011 with Discovery Communications, which increased its ownership stake to 70% in December with a $70 million purchase of an additional 25%.

(She still retains about 25%, and extended her contract there as chairman and CEO through 2025.).

But apart from a few interview series, Winfrey has not had a direct hand in creating programming for the network, which includes series such as Queen Sugar and Greenleaf.

'Star Trek: Discovery': Alex Kurtzman Takes Over For Outgoing Showrunners | THR News - Duration: 2:48.

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned that CBS All Access'

'Star Trek: Discovery' is making its second showrunner change.

Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, who originally took over from Bryan Fuller,

are exiting and executive producer Alex Kurtzman is stepping in.

Kurtzman has guided the franchise and a few of its feature films,

and will now take over as showrunner on season two.

He will also oversee the writers room.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday,

CBS Television Studios said,

"We've made some producer changes at 'Star Trek: Discovery.'

The series continues under the creative vision and leadership of

executive producer and co-creator Alex Kurtzman.

'Discovery' remains on course for season two in 2019 with new and continuing

stories that build on its successful premiere season."

Sources say the decision to replace Berg and Harberts was based not on

the creative but instead for leadership and operational issues.

Production on 'Discovery's' first five episodes of season two are near

completion, with Kurtzman likely taking over for episode six and beyond.

Berg and Harberts, who were longtime collaborators with original showrunner,

Fuller, will likely still be credited on the episodes they oversaw.

According to sources, the budget for the season two premiere ballooned, and

the overages are expected to come out of the remaining episodes

from 'Discovery's' sophomore run.

Insiders also stress that Berg and Harberts became increasingly

abusive to the 'Discovery' writing staff with multiple writers said to

have been uncomfortable working on the series.

Many had threatened to file a complaint with human resources

or quit the series altogether before informing Kurtzman

of the issues surrounding Berg and Harberts.

After hearing rumors of HR complaints, Harberts is said to have

threatened the staff to keep concerns with the production an internal matter.

Production on 'Discovery' is not expected to be

impacted by the showrunner change.

In another departure for season two, THR has learned that

executive producer Akiva Goldsman did not return to Discovery

after serving as Kurtzman's right-hand man during its freshman run.

Goldsman was brought in to help build the world of Discovery, but

the veteran producer is said to have had a management style

and personality that clashed with the writing staff.

It's unclear if Goldsman will continue to receive an exec producer credit

on season two.

This is the second showrunner change on 'Star Trek: Discovery.'

Former showrunner Fuller clashed with CBS over the show's concept,

casting, directors, costumes and budget on top of its original launch date.

The series was originally slated to premiere in January 2017

and was delayed twice.

In October 2016, Fuller, who was a diehard fan of the franchise,

was asked to step down as showrunner when the network grew

frustrated that he was splitting time with Starz's 'American Gods' adaptation.

Fuller's longtime collaborators, Berg and Harberts, were tapped to replace him.

'Discovery' is expected to return in 2019, when it will lean

deeper into the 'Star Trek' mythology with the casting of Anson Mount

as Captain James T. Kirk's predecessor, Capt. Christopher Pike.

10 Best Foods For Prostate Health - Duration: 8:31.

10 Best Foods For Prostate Health

1.

Brazil nuts can help reduce prostate cancer risk.

Of all the different types of nuts, these natives of South America are an especially

rich source of the mineral selenium, which is important for prostate health.

In fact, just one ounce of Brazil nuts can contain as much as ten times the RDA for selenium.

Research has shown that selenium intake is associated with a reduced risk of prostate

cancer.

The Brazil nut tree grows in Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia.

The Brazil nut is actually a seed and not a nut, because the so-called "nuts" are

encased in a woody shell which, when split open, reveals 8 to 24 seeds/nuts.

These seeds/nuts are also a very good source of zinc, another mineral that plays an important

role in maintaining a healthy prostate.

An addition, Brazil nuts contain all the amino acids necessary to qualify as a complete protein,

and the nuts are also a good source of magnesium and thiamine.

2.

Broccoli has anti-cancer properties.

Broccoli is a source of some very critical nutritional benefits that are not listed on

a nutrition label.

As a member of the cruciferous family, which is also populated by cauliflower, Brussel

sprouts, kale, and many other vegetables, broccoli contains high amounts of the phytonutrients

sulforaphane and the indoles, both of which have anticancer properties.

Sulforaphane enhances the activity of the body's detoxification enzymes, which helps

to eliminate potentially cancer-causing elements more quickly.

A study published in Cancer discovered that indole-3-carbinol, which occurs naturally

in broccoli and its cousins, suppressed the growth of prostate cancer cells and also inhibited

the production of prostate specific antigen (PSA).

Investigators with the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial found that

eating broccoli more than once a week could reduce the likelihood of developing stage

III and IV prostate cancer by 45 percent.

The most healthful way to enjoy broccoli is lightly steamed or sautéed for no more than

five minutes.

If the vegetable is cooked longer than that, the anticancer abilities of its phytonutrients

fade.

3.

Cayenne can kill prostate cancer cells.

The hot and spicy cayenne pepper (Capsicum annuum), also known as chili peppers, is the

source of this prostate-supportive spice.

Cayenne peppers get their heat from a high concentration of a substance called capsaicin.

While capsaicin is widely known for its ability to reduce pain, studies have also shown that

it can help kill cancer cells, including prostate cancer cells.

Specifically, capsaicin has demonstrated an ability to cause prostate cancer cells to

"commit suicide" (a process called apoptosis).

Capsaicin does this by attacking the energy-making portion of the cells, called the mitochondria,

and it is able to do this without harming the healthy cells that surround the cancer

cells.

Along with its anticancer abilities, capsaicin also offers cardiovascular benefits because

it is a potent antioxidant that fights free radicals that can lead to atherosclerosis.

A few more benefits include helping to prevent ulcers, opening and draining congested nasal

passage, and reducing cell damage that can lead to diabetic complications.

4.

Green tea can help reduce PSA levels.

The medicinal powers of green tea are attributed to antioxidant compounds called catechins,

a type of polyphenol that has been shown to destroy certain bacteria and viruses, boost

the immune system, and fight several forms of cancer, including prostate cancer.

Although there are several different kinds of catechins, experts have identified epigallocatechin

gallate, EGCG, as the most potent.

Research has shown that green tea polyphenols, primarily EGCG, can significantly lower the

levels of PSA and two biomarkers for prostate cancer, hepatocyte growth factor and vascular

endothelial growth factor.

Green tea catechins also may help men who have pre-cancerous prostate lesions, also

known as prostate intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), a condition that signals a high risk

of developing "full-on" prostate cancer.

Studies show that men with PIN who took catechins daily had a significantly lower risk of developing

prostate cancer and also a reduced risk of lower urinary tract symptoms, which makes

catechins helpful in treating symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy.

5.

Mushrooms can help reduce prostate tumors.

Mushrooms, and especially Asian varieties, offer great health benefits, including their

ability to help fight cancer.

One Asian mushroom that has a long history—more than 6,000 years—of proving its medicinal

powers is the shiitake.

These mushrooms contain lentinan, a type of beta-glucan, which has demonstrated anticancer

properties.

A 2009 study, for example, showed that shiitake mushrooms suppressed tumor spread in mice

implanted with human colon and breast cancer cells.

In an earlier study, lentinan inhibited development of human colon cancer in mice.

Thus far, no studies have looked specifically at the impact of shiitake mushrooms on prostate

cancer.

Asian mushrooms also contain a potent antioxidant called L-ergothioneine.

Studies show that ergothioneine is present in very high concentrations in shiitake, oyster,

king oyster, reishi, and maitake mushrooms.

Ergothioneine's forte is exerting its potent antioxidant properties to protect the cells

throughout the body, including the prostate.

Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine research recently found that ergothioneine

provided protection to cells from damage associated with toxins and other substances.

6.

Pomegranates can help slow prostate cancer growth.

Pomegranates have recently been the subject of much research and discussion as scientists

have been discovering more and more benefits of eating these unusual fruits.

In particular, pomegranates are rich in antioxidants and a phytonutrient called ellagitannin, which

is especially helpful in promoting prostate health.

Test tube studies show that pomegranate extracts can slow the reproduction of prostate cancer

cells and prompt the cells to commit suicide.

In other studies, ellagitannins have shown that they can interfere with the growth of

new blood vessels, which are necessary to nourish prostate tumors.

At the University of California, Los Angeles, researchers found that pomegranate juice significantly

slowed progression of prostate cancer in men who had had surgery or radiation for the disease

but whose PSA levels had risen, indicating a possible return of the disease.

7.

Pumpkin seeds help reduce an enlarged prostate.

Pumpkin seeds offer some unique health benefits for the prostate, especially for men who have

benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH).

This condition, which involves enlargement of the prostate gland, commonly affects men

50 years and older.

One thing that contributes to BPH is overstimulation of the prostate cells by testosterone and

another hormone, dihydrotestosterone.

The oil in pumpkin seeds can help prevent the hormones from triggering multiplication

of prostate cells.

Pumpkin seed oil also contains carotenoids and omega-3 fatty acids.

Research shows that men who have higher levels of carotenoids in their diet have a reduced

risk of BPH.

8.

Salmon has powerful cancer fighting antioxidants.

Omega-3 fatty acids are an important nutrient for supporting prostate health, and a delicious,

nutritious way to get these omega-3s is with salmon.

The meaty texture and light taste of salmon is often enough to convince even people who

are not fond of fish to enjoy this fish on occasion.

The flesh of salmon varies in color from red to pink and orange, and some varieties of

salmon have greater amounts of omega-3 fatty acids than others.

Experts have found that omega-3 fatty acids in fish may slow prostate tumor development

and progression in men who already have the disease, and help prevent the disease from

developing in others.

Study results published in April 2009 in Clinical Cancer Research reported that eating fish

like salmon at least once a week may reduce a man's risk of developing advanced prostate

cancer even if he is genetically predisposed to getting the disease.

9.

Tomatoes help reduce prostate cancer risk.

Tomatoes are a popular food as well as a superior source of lycopene, a phytonutrient, or more

specifically a carotenoid, one of a group of yellow, orange, and red pigments found

in plants.

Lycopene is a potent antioxidant that has proven itself in study after study to have

properties that enhance prostate health.

Although fresh tomatoes are nutritious, their lycopene antioxidant potency increases when

they are processed.

Processing breaks down the cell walls of tomatoes, which makes the lycopene more accessible to

the body.

Thus tomato paste, sauce, soup, and juice offer more antioxidant protection for the

prostate than do fresh tomatoes.

The results of many studies show that processed tomato products really enhance prostate health.

10.

Turmeric is the #1 cancer fighting spice.

Turmeric is a perennial plant whose roots are ground into this popular spice.

The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which gives the spice its bitter, peppery

taste.

World Cup live: Luis Suarez misses golden opportunity for Uruguay against Egypt - Duration: 3:04.

World Cup live: Luis Suarez misses golden opportunity for Uruguay against Egypt

Fridays World Cup slate – beginning at 8 a.m. ET – features a couple of scintillating matchups. In the first game of the day, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani lead Uruguay against Egypt.

Iran and Morocco face off at 11 a.m. in a contest that could dictate how Group B will play out. In the late game, Spain takes on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, two teams that can make a deep run in the tournament.

Stick with us all day for all the goals and biggest moments!. Egypt. 70 – Egypt is bunkering down and defending well. Time to bring on Salah or hold on for a draw?. 63 – Another sub for Egypt, with forward Kahraba replacing forward Marwan Mohsen.

59 – Uruguay makes two substitutions:  Carlos Sánchez comes on for Nahitan Nández and Cristian Rodríguez for Giorgian de Arrascaeta. 50 – First sub of the game is Egypt, with Sam Morsy coming on for Tarek Hamed in the midfield.

46 – Big save! Suarez gets in behind the defense, but Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy gets his knee on the point-blank shot to keep the game scoreless.

HALFTIME (0-0) – Luis Suarez just put together one of the worst halves I've ever seen him play. Time and again, he has turned on the magic when needed and is most dangerous when he's being doubted. – USA TODAY Sports Martin Rogers.

Uruguay had more of the ball, but really lacked the conviction in the final third. Credit to Egypts defense for a strong 45 minutes.

24 – Suarez misses a huge chance! With an open net, Uruguays star striker mishits the ball into the side netting – shocking. That could come back to haunt them.

15 – Egypt gets a free kick about 30 yards out and its played into a dangerous area, but Uruguay manages to clear.

Pregame – Mo Salah is NOT in Egypts starting lineup today. The Liverpool star injured his shoulder in the Champions League final last month and was thought to be nearing 100%, but evidently is not ready to start.

No surprises for Uruguay. Luis Suarez plays his first World Cup game since biting Italys Giorgio Chiellini four years ago.
