What is Xiaomi? | CNBC Explains - Duration: 4:15.

A company started just eight years ago has now become

one of the world's largest smartphone makers.

I'm talking about Xiaomi, it's opening stores and now rapidly expanding outside of China.

So what's behind the growth of this Chinese tech company?

Xiaomi is the fourth-biggest smartphone player in the world.

It's India's top-selling smartphone brand and one of China's top players.

But its breadth is much wider than that.

It's present in 74 markets around the globe, with nearly 15,000 employees

and more than 300 million people are using its product or services.

While Xiaomi may be a foe for Apple, it's somewhat of a friend to Google and Microsoft.

Xiaomi smartphones run a version of Google's Android operating system

and the Chinese tech company is partnering with Microsoft to collaborate on artificial intelligence.

The company makes about 72 % of revenue from China, and 28% from the rest of the world.

Xiaomi generates most of its revenues from smartphones, but it's also expanded into

other products like music and video streaming, too.

The Beijing-based company wants its smartphones to be just the start

of an entire device ecosystem for its users.

Which may explain why it's sometimes referred to as the "Apple of China."

When the company was first started, Xiaomi only sold its products online

in an effort to reduce overhead costs.

It avoided spending money on advertising

and relied on brand loyal customers to spread the word.

Xiaomi's selling point was simple.

Offer high-quality devices - but at lower prices than competitors.

And it worked.

Xiaomi became China's number one smartphone in 2014.

But the success was short-lived.

Sales fell in 2016, pushing Xiaomi down several spots to number five in China.

New low-cost players were entering the market, and the company learned that by selling its

phones online directly to consumers, well, it made it difficult to reach new customers,

like those in China's smaller cities.

So Xiaomi began to change up its strategy.

Recently it's been getting into the brick-and-mortar game,

opening a large number of stores like this one in Hong Kong.

It plans to open 2,000 stores worldwide by 2019 with just about half of them in China.

It's expanding its footprint outside of China, opening retail stores in Spain and Italy

and forming retail partnerships here in the U.K.

And while Xiaomi isn't in the U.S. yet,

Xiaomi's head of its international business says they do have plans to enter the market.

It's not just a smartphone business.

Xiaomi also makes things like smart watches, headphones, speakers, pillows,

VR headsets, air purifiers, rice cookers, kitchenware, luggage, hats and wallets.

That's on top of selling online content, entertainment, and financial services.

In 2017, Xiaomi's sales grew more than 67% from the year prior,

leading some to call it 'China's Phoenix.'

Product launch events for its new products can draw up to thousands of fans.

And while companies like Samsung have used

Kanye West and Bruno Mars to pump up fans for new products,

Xiaomi events are usually headlined by well, the company's CEO Lei Jun.

As one of Xiaomi's co-founders, he has a net worth of more than 12 billion dollars.

He worked in technology and as an angel investor before starting the company in 2010.

So what's next?

Smartphone shipments in China suffered their largest decline ever in the first quarter of 2018.

And global smartphone sales declined last year for the first time since 2009.

While the industry news is concerning for massive smartphone players,

Xiaomi actually had an 88% increase in the number of phones

they sold globally in the first quarter of this year.

That's compared to a slight decrease by Samsung and slight increase by Apple.

Xiaomi's growth was largely because of its previous ho-hum performance though -

so the question remains.

Will "China's Phoenix?" - so dependent on its hardware business - fly to new heights?

Or will it return to the ashes?

He, guys, it's Uptin. Thanks for watching.

What exactly is Coach Dan's "Kill Mode" Mindset? - Duration: 7:29.

Hey, everybody.

Coach Dan Long with Get Lean in 12,

and I have something powerful for you today, powerful.

But you have to use it, OK.

You promise?

If you use it, I promise you, it's

going to be 1 of the most powerful things you've ever

come across, and it starts with Kill Mode.

But before I get into that, for you being here today,

at the end of this video, I have something

that goes with this in conjunction perfect.

It's going to be up at this link,

but don't click the link just yet, OK?

I want you to get this information that I

have to share with you today.

It's kind of personal.

And why is it that Dan always has these shirts on that says,

Kill Mode?

Well, I'm about to show and teach you

exactly what that means.

Now are you working out?

If you're working out, this is going

to be the most powerful thing you've ever used,

that's in the mindset that you have to have every single day.

Now, listen.

Not only does it work well with the mindset of exercise,

it also works well with everything

that goes on in life.

Now, when you wake up in the morning, and let's

say you go to brush your teeth.

If the toothpaste falls off your toothbrush,

are you're going to let it crush the rest of your day?

I don't think so, right?

What happens if you're getting ready for work,

and then, all of sudden, 1 of your children

spills coffee on your shirt.

Are you just going to let that ruin the rest of your day?

No.

You're going to have the mindset, right, to dominate,

and have a positive mindset to know that everything happens

for a reason.

OK?

Now, with that being said, if you are exercising,

and you have an amazing exercise program like the 1

I'm going to show you today, right,

it only has to be 12 minutes.

If you work out, and you want to get

the maximum out of every single rep

and every single exercise and every single minute

to burn the most belly fat, well, you're

going to have to use a mindset that I call Kill Mode.

OK?

It is very powerful if you use it.

I use this method with clients, right, moms, dads, children,

Olympians, yes, I've trained Olympians in my day.

I have also had MLB, NFL, NHL.

You name it, I have trained some of the most elite athletes,

and they love Kill Mode.

In the military?

Oh, let me just tell you.

The military, they love Kill Mode.

Matter of fact, they have my sticker

on the mirror in USSOCOM, in the military base

over here in MacDill--

because I live in Tampa, right?

And they showed that to me, which, that just

goes to show you how powerful Kill Mode can be.

So let's get into it, OK?

Every time you go to exercise, what's

the first thing that happens when you start to feel fatigue,

or some type of a muscle burn, right, or your oxygen

is not being maximized because you're not breathing properly,

what happens?

Your mindset starts to go south, OK.

Sorry it's a little bumpy, starts to go south, OK?

Why is that?

Because your mind is the most powerful thing

that you can absolutely use to be able to exercise.

OK?

So what I want you to do is this.

Listen to this, OK?

I want you to exercise, and I want you to think about,

for the first half of whatever it is you're doing,

it could be reps, it could be minutes,

it could be whatever it is, as far as your exercise program.

What you're going to do, is you're

going to make sure for the first half

that you're just on autopilot.

In your mind, you're just thinking about the birds

chirping, the butterflies are flying,

and you're breathing normal.

But for the second half, OK, which I know what happens,

you know what happens, your mind starts to go south,

because in the second half, the fatigue starts to set in.

That's when the adrenaline has to kick in.

Adrenaline has to kick in, right,

and your mindset has to go into a place that I call Kill Mode.

You're going to forget about all the fatigue.

You're going to exit the fatigue out of your brain.

You're going to let the adrenalin kick in, right?

And you're going to give an all-out max effort

for the second half of everything

you do in your exercise program.

Now if you do that, guess what happens?

All of a sudden, your second half of every single rep,

of every single exercise, and every single minute

becomes more powerful than the first half,

and you actually will lose more belly fat, because you

are using the Kill Mode method.

OK.

So now Let's go over one more time.

You get into an exercise, all of a sudden,

let's say it's 10 reps, for the first 5 reps,

you're doing it at normal pace, and you're breathing normal,

and you're just working just like if you are out in the park

and making it happen.

In the second half, every bit of that muscle

burn and that fatigue is going to exit your brain.

OK?

And you're going to kick in your adrenaline,

and you're going to give an all-out max effort

for maximum fat loss domination.

That is the Kill Mode method.

Now I promise you.

Listen, if you run, you go out there

and you do any kind of cardio, right?

If you do any kind of muscle building,

and you get out there, and you work those weights, guess what?

If you use this method, I promise you,

you are going to get that extra rep, if not 2.

You're going to get more fat loss because you are absolutely

kicking in your adrenaline, which by the way,

is one of the reasons why, in the protocols, right,

for the Over 40 Ab Solution, it tells you adrenaline attacks

and destroys belly fat.

Right?

Because adrenaline is the number 1 way

that you can maximize fat loss.

Now, with that being said, OK, up at this link

up above right here, you see that blue link up top?

Before you click that, let me tell you a little bit

about what you're going to see when you go onto that page.

First off, you're going to see myself and my wife,

which we're both over 40, and we have 3 beautiful kids,

and we live a life where we basically use nothing

but the Over 40 Ab Solution to be

able to maximize fat loss with Kill Mode, by the way.

You're also going to see my great friend, and also

1 of my close, close friends, Karen and Shaun Hadsall--

which, Karen is in her 50s, and Shaun is in his late 40s,

and he's also ripped.

The Over 40 Ab Solution is built for people specifically

like you that could be over the age of 40, maybe you're 50,

maybe you're 60.

Right?

I'm 44, living the dream, right, living the dream,

using these protocols.

We have specifically designed protocols for people

in their 40s, 50s, and 60s in this product called the Over 40

Ab Solution that you're going to find at the link above.

OK?

So go ahead and click that link now.

Do me a favor.

Say, hi.

Right?

Put your name down below.

Hit a Like, hit a Heart, hit a Share

if this information is something valuable to you.

I want to thank everyone from around the world

for being on this video here with me today.

Yes, you're taking a drive with me

right here in beautiful Odessa, Florida,

where it is now 91 degrees today.

And I want to thank everyone for taking time on this feed,

right?

Don't forget to Kill Mode.

Don't forget to click this link right now,

and I'll see you again on the next video.

Keep going strong.

Don't be the Witness. There is no such thing as the Witness. - Duration: 5:49.

Hello. This is - don't be the witness... there's no such thing as the witness.

This topic came about because I've been bumping into the recurring and fairly

strong belief that we should become the witness. That in some way we should

become an objective observer or witness to our thoughts, our feelings, things that

happen...as if it occurs to somebody else. In this way, disengaging and

disidentifying with everything. Granted, this does create or can create a certain

detachment and aloofness which may reduce suffering and make life easier.

However, it creates a whole new set of problems. In that if what you really want

is enlightenment, enlightenment is not about distancing or disengaging or

becoming aloof of reality. There is no such separation. There is no other. There

is no distance...in terms of distancing. Now, even if you look at...you know...being

the witness to your own experiences even... you know...you could be trying to allow

and watch everything come and go, but if someone sneaks up and pokes you in

the back...hard...there suddenly, "ow! It hurts!" It's sudden...it's immediate. There's no

distance. Then we arbitrarily try to create distance and say - well I'm gonna

try to witness the pain. Which is kind of funny because...you know...with sharp jabs...

you know...it kind of...there's a spike. It hurts and it goes away...almost

immediately. I mean it's not like you were stabbed and there's

something still there and causing continual pain signals

by the nerves. It was probably one spike of pain and it's gone. And so by the time

you're trying to create a witness to witness the pain of that jab in the back,

the pain is already gone. And so you're delaying what is experienced in order to

try to witness it. Or when somebody says... you know...they're witnessing their

thoughts. Well that tells me they're not being present. If you're a hundred

percent devoted to the experience of now and totally present, there's no room for

thought. And so, what would a witness be watching? There would be just the

experiencing...that 100% attention on experiencing what's going

on. And when things are being experienced, they don't have a distance. So if your

eyes are open and you see something, the eye sees...it's immediate. Why create an

arbitrary witness to say now there's a witness of the seeing? Don't need it.

Furthermore, when you try to not only... when you're creating this distance, but

when you're creating the idea of a witness...you're just creating another "me"

to identify with. A witness is just another "me". It's a more rarefied and

purified form of ego, but it's ego nonetheless. One that's aloof and distanced

and doesn't identify with what's going on, but an ego nonetheless. Enlightenment...

awakening...is the seeing of what-is as it truly is. It's a shattering of the

illusion of duality. It's a...which includes the "me" and "other."

So that duality and illusion shatters the "me". How does this occur if we're

constantly identified with and reinforcing the "me" by saying - I'm the

witness. In saying - I am the witness - you've

already created a...something to identify with. There is no witness.

There's simply the witnessing. There's no experiencer. There's simply

the experiencing. There's no seer. There's simply the seeing. In this trying

to create distance and and then have something else to identify with...is a

dead end. I think it creates a lot of problems for

a lot of spiritual seekers and people interested non-duality.

As they're ever trying to refine and become better at being the witness, which

by the way this is an egoic activity. I need to be the witness better. I mean

that's total ego...trying to improve it being this separate detached thing.

That's trying to fake it in a way. Don't be the witness. I don't recommend

it. There is no witness. Just be witnessing. Just be the experiencing. Just

be the seeing. The...you know...there is nothing to identify with. Don't identify,

but don't dis-identify...and try to gain separation. Just feel what-is. Let what comes

come...let what goes go...without critiquing, judging, creating stories...let all go.

There's no need for a witness. Anyways... thank you much.

Why Princess Eugenie Is Allowed To Be On Social Media But Most Other Royals Aren't - Duration: 2:16.

Why Princess Eugenie Is Allowed To Be On Social Media But Most Other Royals Aren't.

Princess Eugenie has posted lots of brilliant photos since she joined Instagram earlier

this year - including some brilliant family throwbacks

If there's one thing we've learnt this year, it's that Princess Eugenie LOVES a throwback

picture.

The young royal, who is ninth in line to the throne, joined Instagram in March and has

been delighting fans with her photos ever since.

She's posted pictures of her charity events as well as personal snaps of her with the

family and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank.

But many people were a tad surprised when she popped up as a suggested friend, because

the royal family are known for being incredibly strict when it comes to their private life.

Most of her family aren't allowed social media accounts, and Meghan Markle had to close all

of her pages down when she started dating Prince Harry.

But Eugenie isn't technically a working royal, which means she's allowed an account, reports

Hello magazine . Even though she's a member of the royal family,

she doesn't spend her days attends official engagements like William, Kate and Harry.

She actually has a normal job, and works at Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary art gallery

in London.

However she does do a lot of charity work, and she's shared several photos from events.

The lucky people on her list include her parents, the official royal accounts, several charities

and her pal popstar Ellie Goulding.

Her official bio reads "The Official Instagram Account for Princess Eugenie" with a link

back to her official website.

Eugenie is set to marry her long-term boyfriend Jack later this year, in the same venue where

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the know last month.

Jack popped the question in Nicaragua in January.
