Everybody can calm down 'The
Electric Slide'
is not about a vibrator.
Hey guys it's Erica with The
Blast.
So, we spoke to reggae legend
Marcia Griffiths, who sang the
'Electric Boogie,' 'The
Electric Slide' song and she
could not have been more
furious with this rumor.
So earlier this week reports
went absolutely viral that
'The Electric Slide' song was
actually written about a sex
toy.
Marcia not only adamantly,
adamantly denies that the song
is about a sex toy but she
could not have been more
offended by the rumor that
someone would turn her "clean,
pure and happy song," into
"something so wicked."
Marcia says the song is about
a music box and the story
behind it's actually super
uplifting.
When she was on tour with Bob
Marley back in the day she
went and bought a music box
with a meager amount of money
she earned from a show.
She took the music box, went
back home to Jamaica, showed
it to Bunny Wailer who would
end up taking the box home,
writing the song in less than
24 hours, bringing it back to
Marcia and they layed down the
track the next day.
Marcia says I bought that
little box and out of it came
a beautiful hit song that
inspired Jamaican's and if it
was about a vibrator that
would have never happened.
And if you needed any more
convincing that this song is
not about a sex toy.
Marcia said that she didn't
even know what her vibrator
was when they did that song.
So there it is.
Case closed.
Not about a vibrator.
Now you guys can go on and do
'The Electric Slide' at your
aunt's party.

Europe Is Going To DESTROY The Internet - Duration: 2:56.
A few days ago, we talked about the fact that the EU was trying to pass a law that would
change current internet copyright laws.
It could make things like meme's obsolete because it would mean that photographers would
have to be credited for their work, or even paid.
Well, apparently the EU has voted in favor of this law that would essentially ruin the
internet, and I'm going to tell you how, here for you on IO.
Welcome back to IO, I'm Charlotte Dobre.
The EU just passed a bill that would make it so that online websites have to pay to
link news stories, as well as monitor copyrighted content on their sites, including anything
that internet users post.
There are a lot of people saying that this new law will ruin the internet.
So the first issue, article 11, will make it so that websites like google and Microsoft
will have to pay publishers to repost articles on their website.
If you go to msn . com, Microsoft literally copies and pastes articles from other publications
with credit.
With The way the law currently is right now, they are allowed to do this and not pay anyone,
yet they make money off of clicks and traffic generated by the articles that they didn't
write themselves.
Article 13 directly targets websites like YouTube and Instagram, and it would require
them to install filters that would prevent people for uploading copyrighted materials
without a license.
And that's the law that everyone is extremely concerned about.
It could essentially kill meme culture, and YouTubes favorite show, meme review.
Yeah man, when you look at a meme, they are almost always featuring copyrighted photography
and videos without the consent of the artist.Article 13 could also affect live streaming, code
sharing, remixes, samples, satirical videos.
German lawmaker Jilia Reda said that the new laws would be impossible to comply with and
it will damage the way we communicate online.
On the other side, there are a lot of people in favor of this law, mainly those in creative
industries.
According to Angella Mills Wade of the European Publishers council, publishers are tired of
online companies free riding on their content.
Me personally I'm conflicted, as a creator, I know how frustrating it is when people repost
your content to generate traffic.
On the other hand, I love memes.
I cant imagine my life without them.
Could you live in a world without memes?
Let me know in those comments.
As for these new laws, we will keep you updated, they still need to go through another vote
on July 5th.
Alright its that fun part of the video where I'm going to respond to some comments.

✅ Stuart Broad is a fresh fitness concern for England's upcoming Test series against India - Duration: 1:53.
England were last night sweating on the fitness of Stuart Broad ahead of their big Test series against India after he was sent for a scan on his injured left ankle
Broad, as revealed in Friday's Sportsmail, suffered a niggle in his ankle after bowling just eight overs in the second innings of Nottinghamshire's championship match against Worcestershire at Trent Bridge
England's opening bowler is said to be relaxed about the issue but England will be keeping their fingers firmly crossed that the scan does not reveal more damage to what has been an on-going problem
Broad's strike partner Jimmy Anderson is nursing a shoulder problem while Chris Woakes faces a battle to be fit for the first Test at Edgbaston on August 1
The last thing England need as they prepare to face Virat Kohli and company is a problem with another of their leading bowlers
'Stuart's ankle is on-going and it was stirred up a bit when he landed in the footholds so it made sense for him to come off when it became too sore for him to bowl,' said Notts coach Peter Moores
'It is manageable but he has a lot of cricket to play for the rest of this summer.'
