Waching daily Oct 28 2017

We love animals, but some of them are downright spooky-looking!

Woooo-oooo-ooo!

Let's dive deep into our planet's oceans, deserts and forests to find and learn about

some of the strangest looking creatures.

Here are 13 spooky animals you may not want to have over for dinner!

1. Tarantula - Blaaaahhh!

Tarantulas are found in the rainforests and jungles in many parts of the world.

The name "Tarantula" comes from "Taranto," a port in Southern Italy.

In ancient times, when a person in Taranto was bit by a tarantula, they would do a frantic

dance to sweat out the venom!

However this wasn't necessary because the venom of tarantulas is too weak

to be harmful to humans.

It's understandable why the people from Ancient Italy would be afraid of these spiders

- tarantulas are one of the largest spiders, with long scary fangs.

They hunt at night and pounce on their prey!

2. Vampire Bats - aaargh!

Vampire bats live in dark caves, mines, hollow trees and abandoned buildings.

You can find them in Central and South America.

They drink the blood of other animals to survive.

Rather than sucking blood like make-believe vampires in scary stories, vampire bats make

a small cut on their victim and lap up their blood.

They especially love to drink blood from cows, horses, pigs, and birds.

3. Goblin shark - uhhuiuhuhhhh

Scientists don't know much about this incredibly spooky-looking fish

because it lives at the bottom of the ocean.

However, we do know that goblin sharks can grow over 10 feet long

and up to about 500 pounds.

They're a slow moving creature that quietly approaches their prey.

When their dinner starts to dart away, that's when the goblin shark strikes!

This is no ordinary shark bite.

Get this: The goblin shark sticks its jaw all the way out of its mouth

and snatches up its victim.

4. Hyena - eeeeeeehhhhh!

Hyenas live in Africa.

They look a little like badly-dressed dogs.

Hyenas are known for eating the leftovers of other predators like lions.

However, hyenas are great hunters, too, and can be found hunting in packs.

They have powerful jaws, perfect for chomping up bones.

Spotted hyenas are known as "laughing hyenas."

They communicate in spine-tingling cackles that can be heard for miles!

5. Black widow spider - yowwwwch!

Black widows are one of the most poisonous and dangerous spiders in North America.

Most black widows are black and can usually be identified by the red hourglass shape

on their abdomen.

Not all black widows have a red hourglass, though, so it's best to

stay away from all black spiders.

A bite from a black widow can be deadly if not treated promptly.

This spider is known as the "Black Widow" because the female spiders often kill and

eat their male partners leaving them without a mate.

They're now a widow!

6. Crows & Ravens - what are all these creepy black birds?

Crows and Ravens live in many parts of the world, but are very common in North America.

Can you tell them apart?

This can be hard, because they are both big black birds.

Here are some ways to tell the difference.

Ravens are larger than crows, and often travel in pairs.

Crows travel in large groups.

Crows give a cawing sound, while ravens give off a lower croaking sound.

Still not sure?

Look at their tails!

Crow's tails look like a fan.

Ravens have longer middle feathers in their tails, so they appear wedge-shaped when open.

Both crows and ravens are known for being very intelligent.

7. Star-nosed mole -- aarrrrhgh what is that!!!

Star nosed moles are native to eastern North America.

They're one of the most distinctive types of mammals, known for having 22 pink, fleshy

tentacles around their nose.

Like other moles, the star nosed mole is found in moist climates burrowing and digging a

network of underground tunnels.

When digging, the tentacles are held over the mole's nostrils preventing dirt from

getting into their nose.

They also cover their nose when eating.

When this creepy looking mole forages, it uses its tentacles to feel its surroundings.

The tentacles move very rapidly.

They can touch as many as 12 objects per second!

8. Camel spider - nooooo!

Camel spiders are found in desert regions of every continent except Australia and Antarctica.

They are not actually spiders like tarantulas.

They are a different kind of arachnid.

Camel spiders can run up to 16 kilometers per hour - about the speed of a squirrel.

If that isn't scary enough for you, their jaws make up a third of their body! {horrified

interjection} Luckily they don't eat humans - they prefer something

more bite-sized like mice.

Run little mousies!

9. Lamprey Eel - shudder

The Lamprey Eel is a long, narrow fish that

can spend part of its life in the salty sea and part of its life in freshwater.

They can be found in most oceans.

Lamprey eels are jawless fish.

They are recognized by their large mouth filled with circular rows of teeth!

They capture other fish and suck their blood and other bodily fluids!

When they're tired, they can also use suction to stick to rocks to take a break from swimming.

They often do this when migrating from the ocean to freshwater.

10. Vultures - yechhhh

Vultures live in every part of the world

except Antarctica and Australia.

They're known as nature's garbage cleaner because they eat dead animals!

When predators are finished with their meals, the vulture cleans up the leftovers!

They have long, strong wings that let them fly for hours searching for food.

When vultures eat, they gobble up as much as they can, because they never know where

their next meal is coming from.

Vultures have a special creepy trick to get away from predators.

They'll vomit on the animal that's bothering it!

This also makes the vultures lighter so it's easier to fly away.

11. Mata mata turtle -- ehhhh?

The Mata Mata turtle has a very rough flat shell.

It looks like a large, rocky oval.

The Mata Mata has an unusual head!

Like its shell, the Mata Mata's head is rough and flat.

This turtle's head is triangular-shaped with a long pointy nose.

Their snorkel-like nose allows a Mata Mata to lie fully submerged in water

while still able to breathe.

Mata Mata turtles have excellent hearing and sense of touch.

However, they have very poor eyesight.

12. Scorpion - AAGGHHH!

Scorpions can be found everywhere in the world, except the South Pole.

These predators are closely related to other Arachnids, like tarantulas and camel spiders.

Scorpions have eight legs, a pair of pincers and a narrow tail that curves over their back.

On the end of their tail is a venomous stinger!

There are over 1000 species of scorpions.

But don't worry, only a few dozen kinds of scorpions can kill a human.

Still with pincers, and a stingy tail, they all look terrifying!

13. Aye aye lemur - huhhh...

Aye aye lemurs can only be found in the forests of Madagascar, an island

off the coast of Africa.

These are nocturnal creatures.

During the day, they sleep in trees, and hunt for food at night.

Aye aye lemurs like to eat nuts, fruits and grubs.

They have very distinct bony fingers, big yellow eyes and a bushy tail.

Scientists originally thought the aye aye lemur was a rodent like a squirrel,

but they are actually primates!

That's right, primates include monkeys, gibbons and even humans along with

these strange looking creatures.

They're like a distant cousin to us.

Those were a few of our favorite spooky animals!

Which one did you think was the spookiest?

Did we talk about your favorite spooky critter?

Maybe favourite isn't the right word.

How to find inspiration - SECRET tips for Instagram and Pinterest hashtags - Duration: 10:04.

- What if I told you there is a top-secret place

to find lots of amazing cream of the crop

craft inspiration that's hiding in plain sight?

No, it is not the magazine aisle

at the Barnes and Noble. (laughs)

It's actually a place, and actually two different places,

where you probably go a lot to get craft inspiration.

So I'm gonna show you this hack

for how to find the inspiration that you're looking for,

those hidden gems, and give you so much better results

so that you're not having to look at the ugly stuff

and you're just gonna see the most beautiful, best,

inspiring photos and projects there are on the internet

but first I wanna tell you a little bit

about how this inspiration came to me.

So my day job is, that I'm a social media strategist,

and in the course of doing that work,

with working with craft companies

and other businesses and other bloggers

to help them improve their social media strategy

so they can get their stuff out, so you can see it,

I look at a lot of hashtags, and one of the things

that's been so great about looking at hashtags

is that the people who are using hashtags on their posts

are the cream of the crop people.

They understand social media strategy.

They're using hashtags so that they will get found,

so they want you to see their stuff,

and they're going to do the best work possible

to make sure that they're showing you

their best, best of the best, inspiration,

ideas, and finished craft projects.

So I started talking to a couple of my friends

and they were like, Yeah, they never really use hashtags,

and I was like, "What?

"You guys are missing out on the best stuff ever."

So I'm gonna show you guys how to use hashtags

to find the most amazing inspiration,

not only on Instagram but on Pinterest,

so in September of 2017,

Pinterest announced functionality for hashtags.

You could always use them on Pinterest,

but you couldn't click them and they didn't do anything,

so I'm gonna show you how to use hashtags on Pinterest

and you guys are gonna be blown away.

The results that you're gonna get

when you are searching for hashtags

instead of just searching for words,

on both Instagram and Pinterest, are gonna blow your mind.

You're gonna love all the amazing, awesome,

this is pure gold craft inspiration stuff

that you're gonna find, so let's get started.

(gentle, bouncy music)

So when you hop onto Instagram,

you'll see that not everybody

is using hashtags, especially your friends.

But the people who are using hashtags

are going to be bloggers and influencers

who are putting really great content out there

because they want it to be found.

Like this post from apeachlife,

or this post from inspirelovely.

Now, when you find a post that has hashtags on it,

you can click to see more.

A lot of times they kinda hide them at the bottom,

and then click any of the hashtags

that look interesting to you.

So inspirelovely does a lot of succulents.

So if I wanted to see succulents,

I would click on any of her hashtags,

and that would take me to

lots and lots of results about succulents.

Now, depending on what you want to get inspired by,

you're gonna click on different hashtags.

So instead of just searching the search term on Instagram,

like succulents, if you type in #succulents,

you're going to get the results for that hashtag,

plus you'll get suggested hashtags,

and you can see here that there's

lots and lots of beautiful, amazing photos.

If you find something that you like,

then you can click on that, and I call this

kinda going down the rabbit hole.

You're gonna click on one post,

go to their hashtags, click on the hashtag,

go to those results, find a photo that you like,

and say "Okay, what are these hashtags?"

then you'll find other related hashtags.

So this is a watercolor cactus painting

and from there, I clicked on this watercolor hashtag,

and now I'm seeing all these other results,

and it's a great way to go and just get

lots and lots of really awesome inspiration for free,

in a much more targeted way than if you were just

searching for keywords, and again,

you can kinda keep clicking and clicking

and going in deeper and deeper,

to seeing lots and lots of other results from other hashtags

and you'll notice that sometimes the results,

you're getting lots and lots of different, varied things

that may or may not be what you want,

so then you just hit the back button

and go back to the post where you were working at originally

like this mandala post, and from that one mandala post,

I'm seeing lots and lots of different hashtags

and different types of results.

This is a great way to go and get inspiration,

to find new people to follow that

you may not have ever come across before,

because a lot of the way that we find people to follow

is through word of mouth, or maybe we go to their blog

and then we see, oh, they have an Instagram button.

But this is another way that you can find people who are

doing things that you're interested in, through hashtags.

So you just search the hashtag,

and you'll see lots and lots of people,

and the thing that's nice here too,

is that there is this top nine area,

which are the top posts for any given subject, and then

there's all the other posts that come down below it.

Now, I wanna show you how to use hashtags in Pinterest,

because this is a brand new thing,

and this is really going to give you

some interesting results in search.

So here on Pinterest, you can see,

that there's results here in your feed.

This is the smart feed, where Pinterest determines

what they think you're gonna wanna look at

based on the searches that you've done recently, et cetera.

But you can also use the search bar.

So here, if I type in paper organizer in the search bar,

these are just key words, down below the search bar,

Pinterest is gonna show me suggested keywords

that people have searched with this at the same time,

but you're also gonna be getting these results

that aren't necessarily very good.

They're not exactly what you're looking for.

Like I don't need to see wallpaper,

I don't really wanna know about best small space hacks.

I just wanna know how to organize my paper for scrapbooking.

Now, let's try #paperorganizer and see what we get.

And these are gonna be a lot more accurate,

and that's because when people are putting a hashtag,

they are self-labeling what this post is about,

whereas with keywords, Pinterest is trying

to look at the words and the imagery

to figure out what this post is about,

and figuring out if it should show it to you or not.

So because hashtags are self-labeled,

the person who created this is gonna

put the hashtag on the post,

it's gonna be a lot more accurate,

so you're gonna see a lot different results

than if you just searched for keywords.

So if you're just on here looking for

craft organizing ideas or how to make a wreath,

try using those words as a hashtag,

like wreath how to, make a wreath, DIY wreath.

So notice if you're searching a hashtag, up here,

Pinterest is gonna give you some other

suggested hashtags to search within that term.

So I typed in #craftroom, but it gave me

another hashtag to look at, so here,

I'm gonna look at craft room tours.

So I did #craftroom, now I'm gonna look at craft room tour.

Notice that the results are different.

You're gonna see different things.

And with craft room tour, we're gonna

see some stuff that we don't really want,

like I don't wanna see home decor,

I don't need to know about Amazon whatever,

so let's go back to #craftroomtour,

and see what kind of results we get.

These are a lot of Instagram results right now

because hashtags on Pinterest are really new.

This happens because you could always

pin your Instagram posts to Pinterest,

so now all of the hashtags that are on

those old Instagram posts are turned on on Pinterest,

so they're gonna show up in search.

Also, from these posts, just like we can do in Instagram,

you can click that hashtag on any of the search results

and see even more search results within that hashtag,

and notice that on the pin, as we're scrolling,

you can see like four or five hashtags,

but if you expand it open, you're gonna see

a lot more hashtags, and so again,

you can do that thing like we did on Instagram,

where you go down the rabbit hole

and (laughs) find different inspiration

and just to get out of it, you just X,

hit the back button to get out of these,

or here on Pinterest, you'll just X out of that

search result up there in the search bar.

Wasn't that a cool trick?

Like I can see myself, you guys saw (laughs)

in the video, I'm going down the rabbit hole,

I like to click, and then I see something else cool,

and I click that, and I click the other hashtag,

and it's just so much fun to kinda go down the rabbit hole

and get all this amazing inspiration

and just see what other people are out there doing,

so you can see the possibilities

and be inspired to create your own works.

Now, if you're a business, like maybe you have an Etsy shop

or you're a blogger or you're actually a store

that sells scrapbook supplies or something like that,

if you have any kind of business interest,

I have this really awesome course

that I've been working on for a few months.

We've been in beta testing, we have a great team

of bloggers and business owners

who have been testing out these hashtags

and testing out our course, so if you

wanna be a pro at using hashtags,

you need to sign up for the Hashtag Pro Course.

It's gonna be opening soon, but there's a wait list

that you can get on so that you can

make sure you don't miss anything,

plus, we're gonna be doing a free

mini-class right before the course.

I'm gonna give you some free resources

that are gonna help you to skyrocket

your Instagram and Pinterest account

by learning how to use hashtags super effectively,

so if you guys wanna sign up for that,

click the link down in the video description,

and get all signed up.

If you enjoyed this video, please click the subscribe button

and share it with your friends.

I'm sure that you have some really amazing,

crafty friends who would love to see

this awesome inspiration that is

right in front of us on Instagram and Pinterest.

You just have to know the right thing to type in to get it.

13 Unexpected but Fantastic Uses for Toothpaste You Never Knew Existed - Duration: 4:30.

13 Unexpected but Fantastic Uses for Toothpaste You Never Knew Existed

13 Unexpected but Fantastic Uses for Toothpaste You Never Knew Existed We were amazed to learn that, far from simply helping to keep your teeth nice and clean, toothpaste is also an irreplaceable product which can be used for various tasks around the home.

Some of these ideas might seem a little strange, but they work — try them yourselves! Faded silver items can once again be made to shine if you rub them with a small amount of toothpaste.

With the help of toothpaste, you can get car headlights looking slick and clean.

Modern toothpaste contains an abrasive material which works wonders for cleaning them.

The keys on a piano can become dirty very fast due to constant contact with human fingers.

Put a small amount of toothpaste on a wet cloth and carefully clean the keys — you'll be surprised at how effectively it works!   Footwear with white soles, such as Converse shoes, can easily be cleaned with toothpaste.

If you cover the insides of swimming goggles in a very thin layer of toothpaste, then wash it off, they won't get steamed up anymore when you're swimming.

I never would have guessed! You can get rid of stains on wooden surfaces in just a couple of minutes by wiping them with a little toothpaste.

No need for harmful bleaching chemicals!   Toothpaste is also great for getting rid of various kinds of stains on clothing, from lipstick on a shirt to spaghetti sauce on a tablecloth.

Just cover the offending stain with a small amount of toothpaste, rub it in slightly, and leave for a small amount of time before washing it off.

But remember that for colored clothing it's best not to use whitening toothpaste.

You can give taps their old shine back if you cover them in a little toothpaste and rub with a cloth.

In fact, it works great on any chrome-plated surface.

You can also use it to clean the bottom of an iron! The screen and back side of your smartphone can become scratched very quickly if you don't cover them with a protective film.

Put a little toothpaste on a cloth, then carefully rub it on any scratches.

Remove any remaining toothpaste, and wipe the screen dry.

Toothpaste can even clean your fingernails.

Just cover them in a small amount, leave for a couple of minutes, and wash off with water.

Certain odors, such as that of garlic, onion and fish, can be very difficult to remove from your hands.

But if you wash your hands with a small amount of toothpaste, the smell will disappear in no time.

If you fill a condom with toothpaste and tie its end firmly, you'll get a stress reliever ball that will serve you for a long time due to the endurance of latex, of which condoms are made.

Squeeze all you like and let the stress evaporate!  .

We'd love to hear your views on this….

Bournemouth 0 Chelsea 1: Eden Hazard scores winner for Antonio Conte's men as Blues crush Cherries

EDEN HAZARD was Chelseas saviour as the Belgians second-half strike secured a 1-0 win away at Bournemouth.

The Blues dominated proceedings at the Vitality Stadium this evening but could not find a way to double their lead.

Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea beat Bournemouth.

The Belgian struck in the second-half to seal the win.

Pedro and Alvaro Morata both came close to getting their names on the scoresheets.

But Antonio Conte will still be delighted at getting the win with his side moving just one point behind third-place Tottenham.
