It took us six flags to get here. To a place that began with a gulf then
stretched yourself so far that it truly seems to never end. A place with the jovial
spirit wrapped in a ribbon of calm. Heritage rests quietly in every downtown
square. In the people, though, it awakens. Where surnames serve as road markers
down a familiar trail where azalea's grow their richest color crimson.
However, new paths are not discouraged, as long as you look out for your neighbors
along the way. A place where trees have roots anchored
deeply enough to curdle sidewalks nearby -branches and leaves big enough to shade
the Sun in the working hours. It took six flags to get here.
to a place that introduced carnival to a new land, a place where beads hang from
streetlights and the wind can make them rattle and sway from the last parade of
the year and to the first parade of the next. Where the funniest fellows just
among one another in the eve before Cowboys fight battles with comics in
broad day. The streets are called by the names of patron saints although this
isn't a place too pious for a party or too pretentious for you to find a pal
when you're down-and-out. Collaboration is key where we are. Friends are for fusing efforts
in factories built solely for moving this city forward. If the world is your
oyster we have a place for your old shell. We don't need the pearl. It's yours
to keep and appraise. It took six flags to arrive in a place in a time where an
afternoon rain can wash away the day yet still be the perfect precursor to a
beautiful night. Where bicycle shops are really restaurants and if you're
thinking sushi and tacos well... that's okay. Where a garden district can be as
quaint as cream and sugar in the morning. Where a slice of Americana is as simple
as a lonely man with a guitar and a song in a crowded bar on the corner.
