Parenting Tips for Starseeds

by Nadine Alexander,

Lets clear the air before I proceed with the topic at hand please.

I struggle with titles like the one for this article.

For starters, I do not have all the answers.

I dont think that I am the epitome of perfect parenting.

My desire is to offer insight into my life and my daughters with the hope that

I may be a mirror for you.

Things are always clearer when we are on the outside looking in.

This is undeniable.

How do I know this?

DISCERNMENT!

What is discernment?

Noun meaning perception in the absence of judgement with a view to obtaining spiritual

direction and understanding

So, second of all, my ultimate wish for you is to put the focus inside you when you are

searching for answers.

Hold up?

Did I already start giving parenting tips?

When spirit works through you, you may not always be aware.

When you learn to be silent, be still, and tune in, moments like the one I am having

with be easier to pinpoint.

It is from this place that choices truest to our soul are made.

It is from this place that we can communicate from the heart and untie it from the mind.

Here is a short list that I have made as I consciously observe my parenting this week.

There are aspects of the relationship between me and my child that my relatives to not see

as proper.

I choose to let my child guide me as to what she needs.

I also listen to what I needed as a child, what I didnt receive but longed for, and

what I need now, as a woman and mother.

Here goes nothing: 1.

Skin on skin

When I was pregnant, I read the baby books.

The only thing I can remember is a section on the importance of skin on skin contact

between the parent and baby.

This was an ah-ha moment for me.

I dont restrict it to babyhood.

We!

Me!

You!

We all have this need.

When I am not in a relationship, I will go for a massage or manicure.

It is healing on so many levels.

So, when cuddle time happens, my child likes to sleep nearly nude, as do I.

When I am fully clothed, she will express that its not so comfy.

I can feel the difference myself.

She also needs my hand to be on her sacral chakra.

2.

Clothes sensitivity

My child will like something one day, and another thing the next.

Today, she hates socks with ruffled tops.

Yesterday, it was ok.

She only has 2 pairs of flat top socks.

They are in the hamper, I tell her to wear the ruffles.

Her emotions start to boil over.

Oops!

I failed to see the gravity of her discomfort.

Sandals it is!

Why not force her to wear the ruffles you ask?

I too, used to experience this as a child.

I was never heard.

My feelings were never acknowledged.

The markers this left on my psyche were I am nuisance. I am a bother to my loved

ones. My feelings dont matter. I am not normal because I have feelings.

May sound over the top, but this is my truth.

I do use DISCERNMENT to tell the difference when there is a chance she is trying to push

my buttons.

3.

Answering the big questions honestly

When my child was 3, she started asking me question about where babies come from.

I had fears around this.

Will she tell her preschool classmate?

Will I be hunted by their parents?

I listened to my heart, and dove in with the truth.

From then on, I decided to answer all her questions and answer them honestly.

What other questions has she asked?

What does it mean to fall in love?

Why do boys have penis and girls have vaginas?

Why cant boys have babies?

Why do mommies have breasts?

What are tampons?

As she asks more grownup questions, and as she grows to be more aware of the boy and

girl relationships around her, when I give her information, I request that she not share

it with her classmates as this information needs to come from their parents.

Tesla Cuts Parts Orders For Model 3 -- What It Really Means For Tesla And Reservation Holders - Duration: 5:47.

Thanks to its position in the plug-in marketplace, its larger-than-life CEO, its record-breaking

electric cars, and its goal to revolutionize the auto industry, Tesla is never far from

the spotlight.

In fact, I think it's fair to say that Tesla attracts more attention than any other automaker

out there today, with everyone from mainstream media companies to niche YouTube channels

like this one providing a pretty comprehensive commentary on the life and times of Tesla

as it races to bring its latest and greatest product to market.

So when Reuters ran a story on Friday morning detailing that Tesla had reduced the quantity

of a December transmissions parts parts order by forty percent, Tesla's shares took a

dive.

And if you add this news to the already disappointing number of Tesla Model 3 cars produced and

delivered by Tesla during the third quarter of this year -- far less than Tesla had originally

predicted -- it's easy to see why that happened.

When it comes to reporting on a Tesla Story, it's easy to get caught up in the hyperbole

(both positive and negative) around the company.

So today, I figured it would make sense to explain what we currently know about Tesla's

manufacturing process, the reported 'bottlenecks' that appear to have slowed Model 3 production,

and what that means for the company moving forward.

Let's look at the facts of the story first.

The Reuters article detailing the order cut was published early on Friday morning and

referenced a Taiwanese business news outlet called the Economic Daily News.

This publication broke the story in Taiwan, and references a statement made by the Chairman

of transmission parts specialist Hota.

The chairman, Shen Kuo-Jung said that Tesla had decided to modify its Model 3 transmission

parts sets order from five thousand units to three thousand units, blaming production

bottlenecks for the reduced order.

I should note however, that in this case, while Reuters did reach out to Tesla and Hota

for comment and clarification on the original article it referenced, neither company had

responded at the time of publication -- and do not appear to have responded since.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the original story is inaccurate or untrue -- silence is

often the preferred way of dealing with bad news in the corporate world -- but it would

be nice to have some clarification.

And while I can't prove or disprove the original reporting, it seems (based on what

we know of Tesla's slower-than expected ramp up of Model 3 production), that the story

is most likely accurate.

That said, since Tesla's Q3 earnings call is taking place in a few days on November

first, I'm also not surprised Tesla has chosen to remain quiet on this one, even though

its shares are continuing on the same downward trend we've been seeing for the past two

weeks or more.

With the facts out of the way -- and assuming that the reporting is accurate -- let's

examine what this means for Tesla moving forward.

First up, assuming Tesla isn't making the parts elsewhere (I'll come to that in a

second) a forty percent reduction in parts order does indeed tell us that Tesla is dropping

its expectations for Model 3 production, presumably because it's taking longer than Tesla had

hoped to bring its Model 3 production line up to speed.

Given the number of reports I've heard of Tesla bottlenecks -- from everyone from Elon

Musk's twitter account (he was recently talking about sleeping on the roof of the

Tesla Gigafactory to help cope with the eighth level of production hell) to Tesla insiders

-- this does seem to be the case, and isn't really a surprise since Tesla struggled to

meet its own production goals in the early days of Model S and Model X.

Tie that in with a recent expansion of Tesla's credit line by an additional half a billion

U.S. Dollars (although I should note that Tesla said the money was destined to help

provide additional financing for its in-house lease program) shows that Tesla is expecting

to take a little longer than originally anticipated to reap the rewards of Model 3.

And that in turn, tells us that those waiting for a Model 3 will likely take a little longer

to get their car than they had originally hoped.

While this all looks bad for Tesla however, I should at least acknowledge here that that

Tesla's end game -- when it comes to parts and manufacturing -- is to be as vertical

as possible, manufacturing as many of its vehicle parts as it can in-house.

One of the reasons for this is that it can help Tesla cut overall build costs for all

of its vehicles, as well as respond more rapidly to changes in vehicle parts design or quantity,

which is the primary reason Tesla acquired a company earlier this year that specializes

in making machines that make parts.

So while it's likely (for now at least) that Tesla is indeed only getting its Model

3 parts from outside suppliers, a continued lower parts order doesn't necessarily mean

it's' going to make less cars: it could just represent a move to in-house manufacturing,

as it did for Model 3 seats after suffering endless problems getting Model X seats made

to specification by an outside company.

Right now however, Tesla has bigger problems -- namely getting Model 3s made in large enough

numbers to satisfy demand.

And right now, with Model 3 production nowhere near the figures Tesla had hoped, Tesla is

not only hemorrhaging cash at a higher rate than it would like but for every delay in

ramp up it suffers, it risks losing reservation holders who have grown impatient of waiting

for a Model 3.

And that's potentially the most dangerous problem facing Tesla now.

That's it!

Tools for Fashion Drawing | Fashion Drawing Tutorial - Duration: 7:37.

Hello, hello!!

Welcome back!

In this lesson, I'll show you the most essential tools to use for fashion drawing, so you can

start learning + practicing + improving right away.

Now, let's start!

To start learning fashion drawing, you don't need any special, super expensive, out of

the world tools.

Actually, you only need a few things, and you can get started to learn and practice

after one visit to the art supplies shop.

Sometimes it's easy to fall into the trap of "well, when I get these tools, or these

pencils, or these colors, or the dream studio, then I'll start learning, or I'll begin

creating my designs or my illustrations", but wouldn't it be easier to just get started

with what you already have?

Or wouldn't it be better if you started to learn, practice, and create from now so

your skills and talents grow with time?

Of course, it would be easier and better, right?!

Okay, great, so let's see the essential tools that you need to start learning and

practicing your fashion drawing skills:

Pencil or mechanical pencil

My favorite pencil to work with is 2H because it's not too hard nor too soft, and it's

not as messy as those pencils on the B spectrum.

Remember the H in a pencil stands for Hard, and the bigger the number, the harder the

pencil and the cleaner the lines.

And the B stands for soft black, and the bigger the number, the softer and darker the pencil.

(Show B-roll of me making lines with different pencils to show the difference)

I also love working with mechanical pencils because the lines are finer than the pencil's

and I don't need to use a sharpener, so I can draw and draw non-stop.

If you want, you can try with both, a regular pencil and a mechanical pencil.

Neither of them has to be expensive.

My pencils usually cost less and one buck, and the mechanical pencil I'm using cost

no more than two bucks.

I tend to lose my pencils all the time, so I

don't invest quite a lot in them, but I also love how they work.

Eraser and Sharpener

When you buy your erasers, make sure they're soft and kind with your work.

You don't want your eraser to stain or damage your drawings, so be aware of that.

I love purchasing erasers in bulk because as with pencils l tend to lose them all the

time :P

For sharpeners, I prefer the metal ones.

And this one with two holes is just perfect.

One hole is to sharpen the pencils and the other one for the color pencils.

Paper.

Loose sheets of paper or a notebook

Okay, you have your pencils, your eraser, and your sharpener ready, now you need a place

where to put your ideas on.

For this, you can get a notebook, or you can even work with loose sheets of paper and then

put them in a binder.

Especially at the beginning that you'll need to practice a lot, I'd recommend purchasing

a pack of bond paper in letter size and a binder.

Then, start learning, draw, practice, make some mistakes, observe and improve, and tweak

and repeat.

Make sure you keep your best work in the binder.

And when you feel more confident in your drawing skills, then get a notebook and put all your

designs, ideas, and illustrations there.

You can optionally use ruler and templates for circles and ovals

These tools are amazing for beginners; they help you create clean + perfect lines + circles

+ ovals for your figures and faces.

And I totally recommend them when you're just starting out, although sometimes I still

use them when I want a neat drawing.

The ruler will help you create a preliminary line skeleton for your fashion figures before

you draw the actual body and put garments on it.

Then you can determine where the joints like knees, shoulders, elbows, and ankles will

be with the circle's templates.

And you can use the ovals templates to draw the head of your figures.

All the ruler, and the circles + ovals templates are here to help you with that shaky hand.

But, I definitely recommend you to follow the drawing exercises from a previous lesson

and video, so you keep getting better.

Workbook and cheat-sheets

If you're totally new to fashion drawing and especially to drawing fashion figures

and faces, then the workbook and cheat-sheets from my course Drawing fashion figures and

faces will be super helpful for you because I created them specifically for beginners

to train their eyes + hand + brain to create beautiful and proportionate figures and faces.

These are a shortcut to help you improve your skills faster, and you only need to print

the cheat-sheets and draw over them.

Or use the cheat-sheet under a sheet of paper, and draw following the step-by-step from the

course + workbook.

(b-roll)

As you can see, you don't have to wait until you have all the tools, nor the most expensive

materials or the biggest studio.

You can start learning + practicing from now with as little as paper and a pencil.

So, grab your materials and stay tuned because during the next lesson we'll be finally

drawing :D

Great!

That's it for today!

Even going so far as to call it offensive.

Paul Casey eyes Ryder Cup return for Paris 2018 - Duration: 3:23.

Paul Casey eyes Ryder Cup return for Paris 2018

he World No 15, who was unbeaten in the last of his three appearances in 2008 and has matured into a serial contender on the PGA Tour since then, last night announced his intention to rejoin the European Tour with the aim of taking on the Americans again next September.

The Arizona-based Englishman will play his return event in January at the Abu Dhabi Championship. "I have missed it too much," said Casey.

"I have missed my contribution to England golf, British golf, my contribution to Europe and watching the Ryder Cup, not being a part of that.

"My Ryder Cup experiences in the past have been the highlight of my career and being a part of the European Tour obviously puts me in line to hopefully, possibly, play another Ryder Cup which I would dearly love to do.

"I genuinely can't tell you how excited I am and how cool it is to think about that and the possibility of that next September for multiple reasons.

I feel like with the golf I've played over the last few years that I can be a massive contribution on the golf course.

"But I think what excites me more is the role I feel I can play supporting the young guys.

In the team room, I would love to play the role of a senior member and do what needs to be done on all fronts for Thomas and the team." The 40-year-old turned his back on Europe after missing out on a wildcard selection for Celtic Manor in 2010 but insisted it was family decision, rather than a case of taking his clubs home.

"What had happened in 2010 had absolutely no effect on that decision. It's a great theory but it's rubbish," he said.

"It's just I struggled to play both tours. The number of events that we were required by both tours at that time made it very difficult to play both tours well and I suffered.

My game wasn't there to do both successfully. "I had a new priority, which was my family, plain and simple so it was a selfish choice.

It's now doubly difficult being a father of two. But I spoke long and hard with Pollyanna about the decision, and I think ultimately, the biggest thing is that I'm avoiding the regret of not doing this.".

Samin Nosrat's Advice for Cooking with Salt | Sunset - Duration: 1:15.

My name is Samin Nosrat and I'm a writer, a teacher, and a chef.

I'm the author of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat.

So I would say the most important thing for any cook whether you're experienced or brand new

is to really learn how to taste and taste all throughout cooking.

Taste your raw ingredients, taste as you're cooking,

and certainly taste right before you serve your food

to make sure that it's just right.

So what you're tasting for is usually salt and fat and acid.

and making sure that all three of those ingredients are balanced.

Well one really important lesson is to learn to use salt earlier

particularly for meat.

So I pretty much encourage people to salt all of their roasts or anything that they plan on grilling

or even your Thanksgiving turkey at least a day in advance if not two

to give salt the time it needs to get fully absorbed and really diffused into the food

so that it's seasoned all the way throughout instead of just on the surface.

Choreographer Matthew Bourne's Inspiration for The Red Shoes - Duration: 1:27.

The Red Shoes as an idea for a full-length dance piece was on a list I

made about 25 years ago. I think what inspired me to do it finally was the

marriage of the the film of The Red Shoes and the music of Bernard Herrmann

who of course is a Golden Age Hollywood composer. I looked at earlier Herrmann

work and found some amazing music and wonderful discoveries of music that has

never been danced to before as far as I know and has never been theatrically

used as well so it's like a whole new balletic, beautifully

melodious, dramatic score that's never been heard before.

City Center has become our home in New York very happily and we're very much looking forward to

bringing The Red Shoes to New York audiences we have a special guest with

us for our New York performances, Sara Mearns who is a New York City Ballet dancer

and she's been rehearsing with us

throughout the year actually around the UK she's popped over several times to

learn the role of Vicky Page and she'll be making her debut in New York for those

two weeks so it's quite exciting for us to have a New York star joining us as well
