Waching daily Feb 17 2019

So, let's do a little social experiment

It's about 3 am and I'm pretty drunk

No, thank you

Not drunk enough so I don't know

Let's say, who's the president of the USA is

It's Obama

Oh no, it's a white dude with a young wife

That's something we all aspire to do

As you can see I'm not that drunk

And I'm gonna do a little experiment. You always hear these horror stories about

Things that happened while you are in a foreign country, Thailand or something

And I'm gonna walk, 3 am, with my camera holding like this

Through some fairly dark alleys

Not small alleys, but still

It's a 3 am, so let's see if somebody gonna, I don't know, kick my ass, rob me or something?

This is the Second road but I'm gonna walk all the way

If I manage to cross alive

Wait,wait,wait,wait,go,go,go,go,no,no,no,yeah,yeah,no,no,yeah,yeah,yeah

O shit! OK

So we made it across

What was I talking about

Yeah, let's see if somebody gonna kick my ass

Steal my shit or something

If they do, I hope they leave me at least, if not camera this card so I can upload and get the viral video :)

This is the South Pattaya Road

Down there is the Walking Street

And I'm gonna walk all the way

To Soi Buakhao

And than all the way back to my hotel

Holding my cam all the way

This is tempting, to jump on the baht bus, 10 baht, but no

This is the experiment as I was explaining earlier

Now it's getting little darker

As you can see, 3 am but still plenty of people

My arm hurts from holding this camera

This is exhausting

Holy shit, I didn't think this through, I have a........

15 minutes of walking, o shit, no chance I'm gonna be able to hold my camera

Let's turn it off for a couple of minutes then I'm gonna check back again

As you can see, you can by food anywhere at 3 am

Taxi driver watching me funny, WTF this guy wants with his camera

This is a nice view

Girls eating lunch, dinner, breakfast

Nobody put a sign that it's wet so I'm gonna sue somebody if I slip

This is lighted, many people, no problems

I should hire somebody to hold my camera

So I'm closing in on Soi Buakhao, as you can see

If I need a hospital, it's 600 meters

Little less people here

Little bit darker, but still ok

You feel pretty safe

Here is Soi Buakhao

Why am I walking so fast? I don't know

Turn left here

No thank you

Taxi, taxi! No thank you, here is the

10 baht

Bus

But no, I told you I'm gonna walk all the way so let's walk

Good exercise

Oooh, I'm sweating like a pig

I'm gonna cross the street because I want to see what's coming to me

Ok, no more people

Here is the Soi Buakhao market in daytime

Of course, now it's nothing

Ok, car, watch out, ooh motorbike

Oooh I'm gonna have to do so much subtitling

They speaking something, I don't know and I don't care

Family mart

Working of course, if you need something early in the morning

I don't know, milk, bread, condoms?

Something

That bar is closed

Holy shit my arms hurt

Let me try to switch arm, yeah that's better

I hope it's not too shaky

But, understand me

Tired, drunk

I think I'm doing pretty good job

So everything is closed

What if I run

No, that wouldn't be a good idea

Oooh, something is open

Some bars are still open

Watch out, traffic

I'm trying to hold this steady as possible

As you can see, you are perfectly safe

Here there's no people

3 am

No problem at all

If anybody got any concerns about safety

I don't think it's an issue

Only if you are complete idiot

Let's see what is here

This is still working, people playing pool

I'm not gonna play pool

This is good exercise for my right arm

That's another way to strengthen your right arm :)

Or left if you are lefty

I'm getting close to my hotel

Not yet but...

I can't hold my camera anymore so I'm gonna take the brake

So I rested my arms a little, nothing interesting happened

We are

I don't know

In the middle of Soi Buakhao

I know down there is Kevin in Thailand, Hideaway bar

This bar is still open

We are closing on

Right here on my right side is

Hospital

I needed a little time to remember

Soi Buakhao hospital

I don't know is it called Soi Buakhao hospital, but it's a hospital on Soi Buakhao, so

t's a logic, let's see it now

No, it's Pattaya city hospital

So I don't know do you end up here if you are in some kind of trouble

Down there is Soi lengkee

Let's see if ladyboys gonna give me any trouble with this camera because

Down here there are always ladyboys in the middle of the night

What a hell, let's give it a go!

I'm just walking and doing my business

Just look at me funny but nothing else

Soi Lengkee

I'm close to my hotel so I'm gonna turn it off

No actually I'm gonna take something to eat

So that's it, nothing bad happened, no problem

[CC] My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - A Changeling Can Change (English) - Duration: 2:26.

Would you say I'm a hero

Glorious and brave

If I told you something you wouldn't believe?

That sometimes I'm scared

And I can make mistakes

And I'm not so heroic, it seems

But if day can turn to night

And the darkness turn to light

Then why can't we imagine a changeling can change?

No two ponies are exactly the same

No two snowflakes ever match their design

And I thought I was strong

But I was nothing but wrong

When I forgot to be friendly and kind

But if day can turn to night

And the darkness turn to light

Then why can't we imagine a changeling can change?

Would you say I'm a hero

Glorious and brave

If I told you something you wouldn't believe?

This changeling, it seems

Knows the real me

And would stay by my side until the end

So if day can turn to night

And the darkness turn to light

Then why can't we imagine

Just why can't we imagine

Then why can't we imagine a changeling can change?

Why Premier League is catching the eye of Europe's best managers - Duration: 4:39.

Julen Lopetegui, sacked from his job as the coach of the Spanish national team and then from his role as Real Madrid manager , quite fancies a job in the Premier League

No surprise there.  Laurent Blanc, who has not worked since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016, has recruited agents to help him find a job in the Premier League

No surprise there.  What coach in his right mind would not want to work in a league where the payday for failure is normally counted in Euro millions?  Back in September, 2018, Mourinho had this to say when asked if he thought his position at Old Trafford was shaky

"They say I'm in danger, but I don't think it. If they send me away, do you have any idea how much money they would have to give me? Ah, ah

"  Yes, we did have an idea of how much money they would have to give him and that idea was confirmed last week when Manchester United's accounts declared an 'exceptional item' of £19

6million.  An 'exceptional item' for a self-proclaimed exceptional item.  OK, the Special One did not get the full £19

6m to himself, but after his staff were paid off, you can bet it was in excess of £15m

That is over £15m for eventually getting the very least possible out of this talented United squad

So what exactly was the point of giving Mourinho an extended contract when he still had a year and a half of his existing deal left to run?  Basically, it is just rich men indulging rich men, and making rich men richer

Surely the Glazers do not want to be handing out massive severance payments left, right and centre? That is now over £30m on managerial redundancy payments since Sir Alex Ferguson vacated the role

But it hardly matters. Over £30m has been taken out of the club in dividends by the Glazers during that time

And the pay-offs are simply loaded on to the huge United debt.  They must now be giving Chelsea a run for their severance money

Estimates suggest the sackings of Mourinho (twice), Andre Villas-Boas, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte have cost Chelsea the best part of £100m

More than likely, Maurizio Sarri will soon add to that total.  Such lucrative compensation is not just the preserve of the foreign coach, of course

When Sam Allardyce was shown the door by Everton last year, his golden goodbye took career redundancy to a total in excess of £13m

In any job, compensation for dismissal is only fair. But in Premier League football, it is hitting the jackpot – especially as the sack tends not to hamper the chances of landing another lucrative role

And another lucrative pay-out.  In theory, it should not bother the supporter, other than to cause envy

But the money has to be found, and it is loaded on to the cost of following your team

A small hike in ticket prices there, a little increase in the cost of merchandise there

And what does it do for a manager's motivation, when he knows the cost of failure is far from painful?  The writing was probably on the United wall when Mourinho joked about how much they would have to fork out to get rid of him

Referring originally to transfer fees, but now broadened to encompass the general financial excess of the Premier League, the Germans coined a phrase

Stupid English Money. SEM.  No wonder Lopetegui and Blanc want a gig here.

The United States is asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial

The Caliphate is ready to fall. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them……

'  Wacht even.

Nou Trump, laten we het vooral even weigeren

John McDonnell is even MORE dangerous than Corbyn, writes ANDREW ROBERTS Daily Mail Online - Duration: 5:06.

John McDonnell is even MORE dangerous than Corbyn, writes ANDREW ROBERTS  Daily Mail Online

John McDonnell provoked a furious backlash when he described Winston Churchill pictured in 1914 as a villain

John McDonnell could not be more wrong in branding Winston Churchill a villain over his actions towards the striking miners of Tonypandy in November 1910, but his statement has far more profound implications than merely a long standing historical dispute about Labour Party demonology.

This warped view of history says much about McDonnell himself and goes to the heart of s Marxist inspired regime. McDonnell prides himself on his own anti Fascism, but blinds himself to the contribution of the person who did more to fight and ultimately destroy the Nazis than any other Briton.

As The Mail on Sundays serialisation of Tom Bowers searing biography of Corbyn proves, McDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor, is the driving ideological force behind the weirdly obsessive Labour leader. So his views denigrating genuine British heroes such as Churchill are a troubling glimpse into a cabal that has real designs on Downing Street and power.

First, some facts about Churchill and the episode commonly used to besmirch his name: in early November 1910, up to 30,000 miners went on strike in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales over pay. The Chief Constable of Glamorgan had 1,400 policemen there, but asked for more, and also for troops. Churchill, who was the Liberal Home Secretary, sent 300 Metropolitan Police officers, and although troops were dispatched, they were not deployed.

On November 7 and 8, serious rioting broke out in the town of Tonypandy, where 63 shops were damaged and looted. The police used rolled up raincoats to control the rioting. Four hundred standby soldiers were dispatched, but on November 8, Churchill ordered that in no case should soldiers come in direct contact with rioters unless and until action had been taken by the police.

NO ONE at this point was accusing Churchill of using unnecessary force. In fact, the decision not to use troops was criticised by The Times for showing weakness and praised by the Manchester Guardian as having saved many lives. When the BBC interviewed the Tonypandy strikers 55 years after the riots, Will Mainwaring, an ardent Labour Party activist, said: We never thought that Winston Churchill had exceeded his natural responsibility as Home Secretary. The military that came into the area did not commit one single act that allows the slightest resentment by the strikers.

Lives were eventually lost at a strike in Llanelli in South Wales in August 1911, when events grew so out of hand that Churchill did send in troops. They shot dead two rioters who had attacked a train under military protection and beaten its engineer unconscious. But it was only during the General Strike of 1926 that Churchill was turned into a bogeyman. In the Labour Party mythology that followed, he was held personally responsible for brutally suppressing the innocent workers of Tonypandy through military action. He has even been accused of sending in tanks, seven years before they were invented.

There was also an unpleasant whiff of anti Semitism to the story, to which McDonnell – perhaps because of the controversy in his party – made no reference. For the rioting in Monmouthshire and eastern parts of Glamorgan in late 1910 and 1911 took on a more disturbing aspect when a mob of 250 people attacked Jewish owned businesses in what has been termed the Tredegar pogrom. Churchill and Lord Haldane, the Secretary for War, were quick to send troops there, to protect the Jews.

It has uncomfortable echoes of current Labour politics. Todays extract from Bowers book charts how anti Zionism became a near obsession for Corbyn since his early days as a trades union researcher, leading him to believe in what Bower describes as the malign collective power of Jews.

The company Corbyn keeps is significant. Quite aside from welcoming bloodthirsty terror groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, he has played host to Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, a man who described Jews as bacteria. He has also accepted a £2,000 donation from a London based Hamas sympathiser who applauded the stabbing of Jews. Corbyn refuses to say what he has done with the money.

The Shadow Chancellor pictured today was accused of blackening the name of the countrys greatest hero in comments made during an interview in Westminster

It is true that all political parties have their own myths, but McDonnell could easily have educated himself over Labours rewriting of the past. A more honest appraisal would have been to acknowledge that Churchills role in defying and subsequently defeating Fascism in the Second World War made him a hero, regardless of any villainous role he played or in this case did not play in industrial relations before the First World War.

But then the Marxist Left has long loathed Churchill. In his seminal Winston Churchill: Myth And Reality, historian Richard Langworth points out that even following Churchills death in 1965, Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson found it necessary to remind Parliament of the sullen feet of marching men in Tonypandy.

Churchill was the earliest and most staunch opponent of the Leninists after their revolution in Russia in 1917, and wanted to use British troops to strangle Bolshevism in its cradle. He also denounced the Nazi Soviet Pact of August 1939, which McDonnell and Corbyns political heroes on the British Marxist Left supported at the time, only changing their minds when Hitler invaded Russia in June 1941.

THE great Labour leaders of the past – giants such as Clement Attlee and Herbert Morrison, who served Churchill honourably in the coalition that defeated Hitler – must be turning in their graves to hear John McDonnell call their noble wartime leader a villain.

For McDonnell to have such a distorted warped view of history should tell the British people all they need to know about the man who might be even more powerful than the Prime Minister after the next General Election.

Protest: Miners who were locked out of a Welsh pit in Aug 1910, leading to a bitterest disputes

McDonnell and Corbyn stand in a long line of ruthless hard Left operators deploying notorious communist tactics. As last weeks extracts from Bowers biography made clear, Corbyn – with McDonnell at his back – has adopted a Leninist blueprint for taking and controlling power at Westminster, while playing the nice guy. Seize power, purge and crush dissent – this has been his guiding philosophy.

Since assuming the Labour leadership, Corbyns office has campaigned relentlessly against opponents – opponents, that is, in his own party. From his earliest days as a councillor in the loony Left borough of Haringey, Corbyn has detested disagreement. There, he encouraged activists to do his dirty work for him.

In one telling episode, Ken Livingstone told Corbyn he was too nice to be Labour leader. No ones scared of you, he said. John McDonnell will do all the scary stuff, was Corbyns blunt response.

We have been warned.

As for Labour moderates thinking of leaving the party, I would urge them to use this opportunity to take – in the words of Winston Churchill – action this day.

Weekly poll results: the Moto G7 Plus is the favorite in the G7 family - Duration: 1:29.

This probably won't come as much of a surprise – of the four new Motorola models, people strongly prefer the Moto G7 Plus

It offers a premium experience at just €300. This includes shooting 4K selfie videos, something that most flagships can't do

The rear 16MP camera boasts OIS and EIS, the lack of a tele/ultra-wide camera isn't a huge loss, judging by the comments

Same with the chipset – Snapdragon 636 is okay.  But people weren't too happy about the 3,000mAh battery, despite its 27W fast charging capability

It's true that an Honor Play or Pocophone F1 have higher capacity batteries (though slower charging) at a similar price point

And that's the other complaint that came up often – Motorola may have aimed a little too high with the price

Motorola Moto G7 Plus • Motorola Moto G7 • Motorola Moto G7 Power • Motorola Moto G7 Play  The 5,000mAh battery on the Moto G7 Power earned it some looks, but the entry level specs failed to ignite any passion in people

Also, despite launching four models, Motorola didn't offer much variety in terms of size, which didn't go over well with potential buyers

Anyway, there's no escaping the elephant in the room – the Moto G7 Plus won against its siblings, but wasn't the winning option in last week's poll

Half of voters said they don't like any of the four models, that's not a good start for the 7th generation Moto G phones

Maurizio Sarri is 'stubborn' and Chelsea players aren't working for him - Chris Sutton - Duration: 2:51.

Sarri is under huge pressure after his side's thumping 6-0 defeat by Manchester City which saw them drop to sixth in the Premier League table

The players looked low on confidence and the boss once again came in for criticism for playing N'Golo Kante out of position on the right of a midfield three

And Sutton thinks his refusal to play Kante - who has been the club's player of the year for the last two years - in his natural role is a big reason for his recent struggles

He also believes owner Roman Abramovich might be running out of patience with the man he appointed in the summer

"He's stubborn and I there are questions over Sarri," Sutton told the BBC's 606. "This is the same Sarri who said not so long back that he can't motivate his players

"And if you're the owner of the club, what are you thinking? "Today (Sunday), did all the players give it their all? Well, I'm not so sure they did

" Chelsea are about to enter what could be a season-defining period, with games against Manchester United and Tottenham in the league this month

They also play Malmo in the last 32 of the Europa League before the gruelling prospect of City again in the League Cup final

"You talk about the big games coming up - they've got United, Europa League and City in the Carabao Cup final

Huge games," Sutton added. "Can he be trusted?" Sarri admits he is under pressure and risked the wrath of owner Roman Abramovich when he addressed reporters after the City defeat

"If the President calls, I'll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him," the Italian told Sky Italia

"To be honest, I don't know what to expect. I think that is right [that I am under pressure]

I am in charge of the team so, it's right. "I don't know [if there will be talks]

Not at the moment. "But I think that will happen, it's normal. It's something that we need to do

Update | More snow in Redding than Boston? This winter is already bonkers, and another storm is comi - Duration: 5:17.

Update | More snow in Redding than Boston? This winter is already bonkers, and another storm is comi

California is known as a land of sunshine. But, for the extreme weather that has accompanied the Wests colder months, California might as well be called the snowy state.

A series of winter storms has brought record breaking rainfall and dropped snow levels dramatically across the state, causing fresh powder to fall in areas that rarely see any. First, snow fell along the coast in Northern Californias Humboldt County on Sunday. Then, Redding at an elevation of roughly 500 feet received more powder over a 12 hour period than Boston has seen this entire winter.

I believe the scientific term for this statistic is bonkers, Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at the UCLA Institute of Environment and Sustainability, wrote on Twitter this week.

This is what we woke up to..Ive been living here in Shasta lake/Redding for 10 yrs never have i seen snow like this...WILD!

Forecasters said between 10 and 13 inches of snow fell on Redding this week, and the region could see more depending on how far the weekends next chilly winter storm drops snow levels.

Snow levels across much of the Sierra Nevada are hovering between 2,000 and 3,000 feet and will probably remain there through much of the weekend, said Hannah Chandler Cooley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento.

Forecasters said there is a chance that snow levels could fall below 700 feet by Sunday night in the northern Sierra. But the storm will be on its way out by then, Chandler Cooley said, so itll be hit or miss with how much snow these communities get.

Much of the northern part of the state has already been under siege by snow following that hit in early February and even after .

Sierra at Tahoe had received 2.8 feet of snow in 24 hours by Friday morning, pushing the resorts total over the last week to 6.4 feet. Dodge Ridge in Tuolumne County saw 1.8 feet in the same time span, and 14.5 feet over the last two weeks, according to the weather service.

Snow piled high in the Sierra might look alluring for skiers and snowboarders hoping for a good shred session, but . The weather service has issued winter storm and avalanche warnings over much of the Sierra, cautioning travelers of dangerous conditions.

The ski resort in Running Springs was closed Friday because California 18, the highway that leads to the area, was blocked off after a rock slide, Caltrans reported. Mt. Baldy also was closed because of road damage.

Parts of roads leading to Idyllwild and other mountain communities were heavily damaged and in some cases destroyed, but access was not completely cut off.

Crews were starting repairs on California Highways 74 and 243. A route combining surviving portions of the two mountain highways and a county road kept the communities connected to the world, but authorities urged outsiders to leave the tenuous route to residents.

Were discouraging tourism and snow play up there this weekend, said California Department of Transportation spokeswoman Terri Kasinga.

Highways also were damaged in the nearby San Bernardino Mountains, where ski resorts around Big Bear Lake have an abundance of snow. Kasinga said those routes would be open to the public.

In Mono County, home to and, the weather service has issued a winter storm warning through noon Sunday.

A 70 mile stretch of Interstate 80 over the Sierra Nevada that was closed Thursday night because of white out conditions remained blocked off Friday. Officials said its not clear when the road will reopen.

Dangerous travel conditions will continue across the today through early Sunday morning. An additional 3 to 6 feet of snow are expected through this period. The Winter Storm Warning has been extended to include all of Saturday.

The next storm is also expected to gradually lower snow levels in Southern California, in addition to delivering scattered showers. Communities at elevations of 5,000 feet will probably see a fresh dusting of powder by Saturday afternoon, and those as low as 1,500 feet may get some snow by Sunday night, said Keily Delerme, a meteorologist with the weather service in Oxnard.

Theres a colder air mass thats expected to move across the area and thats whats going to bring temperatures below normal and drop snow levels, she said.

Aside from the recreational splendor of fresh snow, the deluge also adds to an already wet winter that has replenished reservoirs and created a healthy snowpack in the Sierra Nevada a major source of Californias water supply. The snowpack on Thursday measured 141 percent of average for that date and 107 percent of average for what would typically be recorded at its peak on April 1, according to the California Department of Water Resources.

This is welcome news for the states water supply, which is replenished when the snow melts during warmer months. But water experts warn that conservation is still necessary, even during wet winters.

Climate change has created a situation in California that the only thing thats constant is that our weather is so variable we can hardly judge it, said Chris Orrock, a Department of Water Resources spokesman. Its not if, its when well get another drought. We need to be prepared for that next round.

Rain in Southern California does much less to boost water supplies. But this week saw some record rain totals.
