A Florida attorney has been sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered to pay $19

7million in restitution for securities fraud.Court records show that James Schneider, 77, of Hillsboro Beach, Florida, was sentenced Thursday in Miami federal court

In December, a federal jury convicted Schneider of 33 charges, including conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud, as well as money laundering, according to a Department of Justice media alert

Share this article Share Schneider was one of 12 defendants who were convicted in a 'pump-and-dump' 'stock swindle,' a type of securities fraud in which the price of owned stocks are artificially inflated through false, extremely exaggerated or misleading statements, with the end goal of selling the cheaply purchased stocks at a higher price

Authorities said the defendants were fraudulently registering shell companies with the U

S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), then issuing a class of free-trading shares in the companies that were secretly controlled and selling off the shares

Schneider's role in the 'pump-and-dump' swindle was to author fake legal opinion letters to create 20 shell companies

The letters indicated that the company shares were owned by people who were not 'affiliates,' even though the shares were actually owned and controlled by his co-conspirators

Investors then spent millions for shares of the companies from 2008 to 2013. At his sentencing Thursday in Miami, U

S. District Judge Federico Moreno declared that Schneider would serve seven years in prison for his role in the securities fraud scheme

Scheider was also told he would need to pay $19.7million in restitution to 2,156 investors, as well as forfeit $4

8million.It's believed that Schneider and the 11 other defendants pocketed more than $5

6million in profits through their scheme, according to Law.com.

Which funding sources does Trump plan to use for wall money? - Duration: 6:06.

JUDY WOODRUFF: The battle over security at the U.S. southern border is heading to the

courts.

It began today when President Trump proclaimed a national emergency.

He said that clears the way for spending $8 billion on a southern border wall, much of

it taken from military accounts.

Mr. Trump said the government funding measure that he signed today came up short.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: I went through Congress.

I made a deal.

I got almost $1.4 billion, when I wasn't supposed to get $1, not $1.

He's not going to get $1.

Well, I got $1.4 billion.

But I'm not happy with it.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Top Democrats in Washington denounced the president's move.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called it -- quote -- "an

unlawful declaration over a crisis that doesn't exist."

The American Civil Liberties Union said that it will file suit, and several states said

that they are likely to do the same.

Our White House correspondent, Yamiche Alcindor, was in the Rose Garden for the announcement,

and she joins me now.

So, Yamiche, let's listen first to a little bit more of the president's explanation today.

DONALD TRUMP: I could do the wall over a longer period of time.

I didn't need to do this, but I would rather do it much faster.

We had certain funds that are being used at the discretion of generals, at the discretion

of the military.

Some of them haven't been allocated yet.

And some of the generals think that this is more important.

I was speaking to a couple of them.

They think this is far more important than what they were going to use it for.

I said, "What were you going to use it for?"

And I won't go into details, but it didn't sound too important to me.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So, Yamiche, hearing that, where exactly is the president pulling this

from?

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Well, the president is saying that I know best how to use the military funds

to keep Americans safe.

So I want to walk you through where he's getting the $8 billion that he's going to initially

be using to fund a wall on the southern border.

He's going to be getting $1.375 billion from the congressional deal that Congress passed

this week to avert a government shutdown.

He's going to be getting $600 million from the Department of Treasury forfeiture fund.

That's money that is gotten from seized and forfeited assets.

It's also -- he's also going to be getting $2.5 billion from the Department of Defense

counterdrug activities.

That's drug seizure money.

He's also going to be using $3.6 billion from military construction money.

And that's defense fund money.

That's also from the Department of Defense.

And all of this is to fund an initial 234 miles of wall on the southern border.

The White House stressed today that this is just the beginning.

They could ask for more money.

They also wanted to make it very clear that none of this money is coming from disaster

relief funds.

There was some worry that there was going to be hurricane funds taken from Puerto Rico

or Texas.

That's not happening.

JUDY WOODRUFF: This is 234, up from the 55 that was in the language.

So, how does he justify this?

What is his rationale for doing this?

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Well, the president is saying that this is really something that needs to

happen and there is a crisis on the southern border, and that he understands it more than

anyone else.

So I want to play some sound of what he says he's using as his sourcing for this.

DONALD TRUMP: It's all a big lie.

It's a big con game.

I get my numbers from a lot of sources, like Homeland Security primarily, and the numbers

that I have from Homeland Security are a disaster.

And you know what else is a disaster?

The numbers that come out of Homeland Security, Kirstjen, for the cost that we spend and the

money that we lose because of illegal immigration, billions and billions of dollars a month.

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Now, the president's own data, the president's own administration collects

statistics on these things, and they contradict the president's claims.

I want to walk you through two things that the president said which we found to be false.

The first is that the president said: "Take a look at our federal prison population.

See how many of them percentage-wise are illegal aliens.

Just see."

According to the Bureau of Prisons, as of January 26, 2019, 80 percent of federal inmates

were U.S. citizens, 19 percent were other nationalities.

About 12 percent were Mexican -- were Mexicans.

But that doesn't mean that they're undocumented.

I want to walk you through another fact.

The president said: "We're declaring this," of course, being the national emergency, "to

virtual -- because of virtual invasion purposes, drugs, traffickers and gangs."

The facts are no data shows undocumented immigrants commit more crimes.

A study by the Cato Institute, which is an organization based in Washington, D.C., found

that U.S. citizens are convicted at almost double the rate of undocumented immigrants

in Texas.

That was a study done in 2015.

And, last, government data shows that the majority of drugs come through legal ports

of entry.

So the president here is making claims that just simply aren't true.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And, finally, one of the things, Yamiche, the president was asked about how

much he pays attention to, is influenced by conservative news media.

What did he say about that?

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: The president said that he doesn't -- that conservative news media

doesn't dictate White House policy.

But he also very much praised a lot of people that are in the conservative media.

Listen to what he had to say.

DONALD TRUMP: Sean Hannity has been a terrific, terrific supporter of what I do.

Not of me.

If I changed my views, he wouldn't be with me.

Rush Limbaugh, I think he's a great guy.

And he's got an audience that's fantastic.

Wait.

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE) decided policy, sir?

DONALD TRUMP: They don't decide policy.

In fact, if I went opposite -- I mean, they have somebody, Ann Coulter.

I don't know her.

I hardly know her.

I haven't spoken to her in way over a year.

Laura's been great, Laura Ingraham.

Tucker Carlson's been great.

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Now, Ann Coulter said that the president shouldn't sign this deal, this

congressional deal to avert a government shutdown.

He did do that, so it's true that he didn't listen completely to what conservative media

said.

It's also important to note that the president said he's up for a legal challenge.

Now, the House Judiciary Committee has already said it's launching an investigation into

this.

And Congress can either pass a resolution disapproving this or trying to stop a national

emergency, or they can file a lawsuit, which is what you said the ACLU does.

But the president said that he's ready to fight this all the way up to the Supreme Court

and thinks he will win, Judy.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And it looks like he is getting a fight.

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Yes.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Yamiche Alcindor, thank you.

YAMICHE ALCINDOR: Thanks.

Kohli Above Peers, Destined for Greatness - Sangakkara Loading. India captain Virat Kohli is well ahead of his contemporaries and destined for greatness, former Sri Lankan batting stalwart Kumar Sangakkara has said

Run-machine Kohli capped a memorable 2018 by becoming the first to win the International Cricket Council's (ICC) cricketer, Test and one-day international (ODI) player of the year awards last month

Considered part of the elite group also featuring Kiwi Kane Williamson, Australian Steve Smith and England's Joe Root, Kohli has surged ahead after a stupendous 2018 and is currently the top ranked Test as well as one-day batsman

"Everything about Virat's game stands out. I think he is head and shoulders above anyone else in world cricket today," Sangakkara told India Today

"And I think going forward, he will be one of the greatest ever cricketers, if not the greatest ever," said the Sri Lankan batting great

With 39 centuries from 222 one-day matches, Kohli is second only to compatriot Sachin Tendulkar - who scored 49 from 463 - in the 50-over century makers' list

He has also scored 25 hundreds in 77 Tests. Sangakkara is amazed by Kohli's ability to success across formats without tinkering his basis game

"He has this incredible knack of scoring runs and has a very, very solid method that he believes in

" said the former Sri Lanka captain. ". if you see the tempo which he bats with, it hardly changes

it's the overall aspect of both the person and how he has sorted his batting and his attitude

3 billion. "It's not just about the ability Virat has but to understand the way to handle pressure not just on the field but also off the field and the expectations," said the former Sri Lanka captain

"We grew up with Sachin who had to perhaps experience the same thing. And for the next generation, it's probably on Virat's shoulders

" Jayawardene said.

Five Scientists Honored for Roles Founding Middle East Research Center - Duration: 2:37.

The AAAS Award for Science Diplomacy recognizes

an individual or small group in the scientific,

engineering or foreign affairs communities

for outstanding contributions to science diplomacy.

This year we honor five individuals from the

group that founded and developed SESAME, the

first major international research laboratory

for the Middle East and neighboring countries.

The honorees include:

Sir Christopher Llewelyn-Smith, Professor

at Oxford University in England,

Eliezer Rabinovici, Professor at Hebrew

University in Israel,

Zehra Sayers, Professor at Sabanci University

in Turkey,

Herwig Schopper, Professor Emeritus at Hamburg

University in Germany, and

Khaled Toukan, Director of SESAME

Based in Jordan, SESAME – or the Synchrotron-light

for Experimental Science and Applications

in the Middle East -- is a synchrotron light

source designed to allow scientists to investigate

surfaces and materials too small even for

powerful microscopes.

Yet, SESAME is much more than that.

It's an international collaboration involving

several members that have had tense relations

-- including Israel and Palestine, Egypt and

Iran, Cyprus and Turkey, as well as Jordan,

Pakistan, and several observer nations.

The project has overcome divisions to become

a hub for research and understanding in the

world's most turbulent region.

It brings together scientists from all over

the Middle East who are able to work together

for increased understanding of the natural world.

The lab's concept dates back to the mid-1990s.

But it only became operational in 2017 following

the tireless efforts of many supporters around

the world, as well as several governments

and key organizations, like the United Nations

Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization,

or UNESCO, and the European Organization for

Nuclear Research, or CERN.

The five people we're honoring have made

key contributions.

Zehra Sayers, Eliezer Rabinovici and Khaled

Toukan played crucial roles in obtaining support

from their respective member countries.

Herwig Schopper and Chris Llewellyn-Smith

steered the boat through many storms, and

ensured a harmonious dialogue between the

members. They were pivotal in advising on, advocating

for, and securing international support for

the project, as was Rabinovici.

SESAME offers hope that – through science – we may

be able to set aside our differences to ensure

a better and more cooperative future together.

Huntington Beach Sancho's Tacos: Family Travel for Geeks - Duration: 3:26.

[shoo shoo shooshooshoo]

Hey my friends CA here. And MTK. And it is MTK. It is

indeed MTK. I have to admit Huntington Beach is one of my favourite places to

visit in Southern California and food is one of the reasons. There are some

favourites even outside Pacific City and one has to be Sancho's Tacos. and shows

Sancho's Tacos.

Even with the expansion of Pacific City which opens a lot more food options.

There's still some good local restaurants. Not too far from Main Street

and the Pier and from the outside it doesn't sort of look like much. It looks

like a little shack. There's seating outside which is great right along the

Pacific Coast Highway. When you walk in the opening really is filled with kind

of the counter and the kitchen area. The surprise is down a hallway is a really

fabulous indoor seating space. Yeah. There's lots of paintings and drawings

and prints everywhere. A lot of sort of great graffiti-ish like style art.And like

the really deep red. In Huntington Beach you're airy and salad and surf and

sand. Like that's where you're at but this is like a rich southern Mexican, you know,

feel to it which I love. Like I really love the space. And the food. The food is

excellent. Great. You can get open-faced tacos. They're open for breakfast which

is really nice too. Go for their breakfast tacos and breakfast burrito. With a little spicy salsa.

It's amazing. Buy stuff here. [laugh]

Good? [mmmmmm] Good.

the chickens really really good and their burritos are like for the right

wouldn't bet on it the burritos are pretty hefty they're shareable those

burritos are pretty shareable whenever we go to Huntington Beach done as often

as I would like sanchez talked to his 10:30 one of those places that we go we

go back for we yes we go back often I love the people of the food and the

atmosphere and then to work at taco you just walk along the pier along the beach

the boardwalk on the beach there are a few other places when we went to

Southern California we visited links to those videos especially the LA coroner's

office which was really cool a side trip to LA and could link to that below I'm

sure we'll have more videos to share so don't forget to subscribe if you haven't

How to be prepared for a medical emergency - Duration: 6:41.

As a paramedic I've heard of saying

That's right

I've heard of saying as a paramedic that goes like treat the patient as if you were your own family member

I got a little news flash for you

If you want me to treat the patient as if it were my own family member then I would prepare them before an emergency

Welcome back here Jeff

raising awareness bringing you vital signs

in this video

Let's talk about how to be prepared for a medical emergency because I've had enough of this

problem this common problem that's been going on for far too long has to go

I know you don't want to hear it. I know you don't care about feelings, right? We don't care. We don't want to hear em'

Although if it's important and it makes sense then we do care

Because there's times when I'm on a call and a family member wants to know what they can do to help

I'm trying to treat the patient and figure out what's going on

They want to know what they can do to help and I'm thinking to myself of course

Now you want to know what you can do to help when timing is critical and of the essense

prepare the patient before

and that's how you can help during

I'm gonna say it again prepare the patient before and that's how you can help during it's easier that way

Right, don't you agree? It just makes sense. Let's get right into it

I got a couple of websites for you to go to

One in particular I'm working on we'll get into that in a couple of minutes one step at a time though, right?

I'll leave in the description down below information about these websites

First one vial of life go there. If you go to this website, you will see how much they emphasize the importance of being prepared

Print out a form right there online this form it contains information information that it will help you during an emergency fill it out

Go to the file of life there you can order these forms online get them mailed to your house

Get a whole stack of them mailed you'll have them all the time then

you can pass them out ya go down to the assisted-living down the street pass them out there some of these assisted livings

Unbelievable not prepared I mean some are prepared we'll talk about those ones later though, but the ones that are not unbelievable, come on

I mean a bunch of senior citizens running around they're having fun and stuff. It's all fun and games

Until one of them trips bangs their head off the side of the wall, right, then we get there we can't

No one knows any information on asking the staff staffs on scene. Do you know who this person is staff is just

Staring at you. Are you kidding me? Come on

Let's get some of these I'll be more than happy to go to these places

And get some of these we'll do a presentation. I'll help get your your

Seniors on board. Okay, we help fill information out for them. Okay, we can pass forms out during

Movie night or during arts and crafts. We'll get a stack of forms

We'll put it next to the bowl potato chips during a senior mixer

You know what I mean like

Causing me to have tachycardia do you want tachycardia means it means fast heart rate people not prepared

Causes me as a paramedic to have tachycardia

I'm gonna have to take it easy the rest of this video, okay

All right

All right

You can just use a blank piece of paper and a pen or a pencil use a crayon but right clear

okay, don't be writing and there's times I get handed a form and I'm like

What is this? Is this a number or a letter?

I turn it this way Oh

Hieroglyphics. I'm like, what is this?

Trying to decipher now your information so write clear

I've been working on it's called

Emergency medical form if you go to

Emergency meedical form dot-com you can learn more about this free service and what it has to offer

But real quick about it

When we're gonna call we're

When we're doing our patient assessment, you know, we're asking you those questions

and we're trying to get information about you that could have already been answered and

We're also doing our patient care report and we're writing that patient care report on an iPad

some departments use like a little laptop

laptop, it's called a tough book and

We're utilizing apps and websites. So would it be easier if there's a website you can go to like emergency medical form?

Sign login in fill out a profile for yourself

And for someone you care about like your children or your grandma and grandpa or mom and dad

you can provide any information you want

paramedics to know in case of an emergency

And then that paramedic can access the form the profile right of the patient

They are treating from the iPad they are already using right there during the call

Would that maybe be easier?

Because it seems that paper people have a hard time being prepared with paper

So those are all options of how you can be prepared

If you have any questions message me on instagram at emergency medical form. I'll probably see it there

I'm new to social media, but i'll do my best to get back with you

You do know emergencies don't come with a warning right? Well, let's just say in five minutes

You knew someone you cared about was going to have a medical emergency

Are you just gonna stand around with your hands in your pockets and wait kick rocks around?

Wait there and just in the distance to hear the ambulance coming the sirens

people are pulling over kind people are pulling over

So the ambulance can hurry up and speed and get on scene right to help treat the patient

At least you can have your information prepared

So you're just gonna stand there and do nothing or are you going to

Prepare the person you care about with what you know now

You do know what it's all about right?

It's all about helping people

Raising awareness and bringing you vital signs

until next time be good and I'll talk to you then

SORRY STATE FOR MAH Pep Guardiola apologises to record-buy Riyad Mahrez over lack of Man City action - Duration: 5:42.

PEP GUARDIOLA has apologised to record signing Riyad Mahrez for his lack of opportunities at Manchester City

The £60 million summer arrival from Leicester has started only 10 Premier League matches this season - and none since the turn of the year

He is likely to get a chance against League Two minnows today with Guardiola poised to make a few changes

But the Etihad chief says right now the likes of Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva are playing too well for him to leave them out

Mahrez has started 20 games in all competitions - making a further 14 appearances from the bench

But asked why he has not featured more regularly in his starting XI, Guardiola said: "I am the reason

He is not absolutely guilty or he doesn't feel any special reason why. I am sad because he is training incredibly

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola addresses problems with the Newport pitch ahead of FA Cup clash  "He is an incredibly talented player but in that moment we have five strikers

"For example the last games Leroy Sane hasn't played. We have incredible players, like for example Bernardo and Raz in top, top form

ON GUARD Guardiola hints at change in Man City tactics to counter shocking Newport pitch  "That is the only reason why

There's no particular reason, like being upset or something like that.  "He is a guy we are happy with, but unfortunately I am not kind with him, in the fact I cannot give him the minutes he deserves

"So I'm sorry, that's all I can say." Guardiola admits it has been difficult for Mahrez to find his top form when he is in and out of the City team

But he believes the Algerian will start to shine once he gets a run of games - with the City boss insisting that is not far off

He added: "I am unfair in the fact that if he had played the minutes that the others had played he would have been in the top level like the players who are playing

"It's not easy for one guy who does not play regularly to come in and play at a high, high level

"He has a level but give him five or six games in a row playing he is going to play at the level of Sterling or Bernardo or the players who play

When he played four or five games in a row he was incredible, outstanding.  "I don't have any doubts about his quality, just to keep going, not complain too much, move forward and fight more and more and more

"His time is coming. It's coming and I'm pretty sure he is going to play good." Despite Newport languishing in 15th place in League Two, Guardiola insists he will not take them lightly

"We have depth in the squad and few, few injuries. Of course, a few players will play who didn't play in the last game

But I prepare the game to win the game with as good as squad as possible.  "If we just expect because they are in a lower division that it will be easy, that would be a mistake

So we take it seriously and we know how tough it will be from the first minute until the end

"
