Exciting Liverpool Academy striker Paul Glatzel is set to sign his first professional contract with the club next week

The teenage frontman is expected to put pen to paper when he celebrates his 18th birthday on Wednesday

It's reward for the huge progress he's made over the course of this season.  The Liverpool Under-18s captain scored his 22nd goal of the season in last week's FA Youth Cup win over Wigan Athletic which booked the Reds a quarter-final tie against Bury

He has established a prolific partnership with Bobby Duncan, who is only one behind him in the scoring charts

Glatzel has already made his debut for Liverpool Under-23s and has trained with the first-team squad at Melwood

Born in Liverpool to German parents, the Parbold-based youngster has really kicked on this term after putting some major injury setbacks firmly behind him

He first joined the Kirkby Academy at under-9s level.  Academy director Alex Inglethorpe recently told the ECHO: "Paul fell off the radar probably when he was about 14 or 15

"It happens with some lads, you go through your growth spurt and he couldn't have had any more bad luck really

"It was one thing after another culminating in him breaking his leg. The support staff and the fitness coaches have been great in just monitoring his load a little bit throughout the year so he's got stronger and stronger as we've gone on

"He's been on both England and Germany camps at youth level so if he's lucky enough he'll have a big choice to make at some point

Manchester United readying SHOCK £262M transfer offer for world class attacker - Duration: 2:20.

Man United are said to be preparing a monster £262M transfer swoop for Brazilian PSG superstar Neymar, a move that would set a new transfer world record

Neymar is one of the most talented players in world football, and it's no surprise to hear that the Red Devils are after the Brazilian's signature

According to Don Balon, both United and Real Madrid are in the hunt for the Brazilian's signature, with it also being noted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are ready to go all-out to secure a deal for the winger

The report further states that the club are preparing an offer of around €300M (£262M) for the Brazilian international, a fee that would break the current world transfer record if the deal were to go through

Neymar has all the ability to win the Ballon D'Or one day, and we're sure the Brazilian is going to be one of the stars leading the race for the award in the future once Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo hang up their boots

The former Barcelona man has absolutely ripped Ligue 1 apart since joining the club back in the summer of 2017, and it's surely only a matter of time before the player decides to go for a new challenge and depart the French giants

United are ready to break the bank to seal a deal to bring Neymar to Old Trafford in the future  Neymar would be a huge improvement on Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez, and United would surely become one of the most feared sides in Europe should they end up bagging a deal for Neymar

If the star were to end up at United, it would come as a big shock, as we didn't think we'd ever see a player go for as much as £262M, especially one that's set to turn 30 in the next few years

If PSG are willing to sell Neymar, one would think it would be quite hard to turn down £262M for a 27-year-old, even if that 27-year-old is one of the best players on the planet…

Render gives us our first look at LG's 5G phone for Sprint - Duration: 3:44.

LG is expected to introduce its first 5G phone at MWC in Barcelona later this month (February 25th-February 28th)

This morning, reliable tipster Evan Blass gave us a preview of the phone when he disseminated a tweet with a render of the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, for Sprint

While it is hard to see because of the darkness of the image, the render seems to show a true edge-to-edge display

It is hard to make out, but there seems to be a small chin. Dual selfie snappers appear in front, and on the back, we can see that the device will carry a triple camera setup with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor

The LG V50ThinQ 5G render shows a date of February 24th, which is the date of LG's new product event at MWC

At the same time that the LG V50 ThinQ is unveiled, the LG G8 ThinQ will be unwrapped

Which brings up an interesting bit of timing here. Usually, LG waits until the second half of the year to introduce its V-series phone

The V50 ThinQ 5G could be released as soon as next month. Not much is known about the phone although we expect it to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, and include the Snapdragon X50 5G modem

Supposedly, a 4000mAh battery will keep the lights on. The other day, LG announced a new feature for the LG G8 ThinQ that could find its way into the LG V50 ThinQ 5G; this is an OLED panel that vibrates to produce high quality audio

An earlier leak revealed that because of the extra heat generated by 5G phones, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G will be equipped with a dedicated vapor chamber 2

7 times larger than the heat pipe found inside the LG V40 ThinQ. That should allow the extra heat to dissipate without making the handset too warm

The LG V50 ThinQ 5G is not going to be cheapThe only pricing rumor that we have involving the LG V50 ThinQ 5G (say that 5 times fast) has the device priced in South Korea between 1

3 million won and 1.5 million won ($1,165 USD-$1,354 USD). We would expect that when Sprint does have the device for sale, its pricing will be lower

Speaking of Sprint, back in October, the Vice President of 5G development at Sprint Business, Mishka Dehghan, made some intriguing comments about the phone

He called the LG V50 ThinQ 5G "distinct" and said that it would be a "beautiful, shiny object

" He also stated that "What's really remarkable about the LG device that you'll see is it's going to be immediately recognizable, everybody around you will know it's a 5G device

" That could be because of the 5G branding on the back of the phone, right on top

Besides the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, we expect Samsung to release a 5G phone of its own. The Samsung Galaxy S10X will carry a huge 6

7-inch curved AMOLED display. Like the LG handset, the Galaxy S10X should be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform in the U

S., and the Snapdragon X50 5G modem chip.  5G networks will offer data speeds that could be as much as 20 times faster than 4G, opening up a whole new word of capabilities for mobile devices

Additionally, the next-gen wireless service has reduced latency (the time it takes for a message or signal to go from sender to receiver)

As a matter of comparison, a full length movie that takes seven minutes to fully load over 4G will take just six seconds to load over 5G

Husband who strangled wife 'to stop her talking' let family look for her for months - Duration: 9:34.

They may have been living under the same roof, but Canadian couple Josh Burgess and Shannon Madill had agreed that their marriage was over

They were in the awkward stage of a break-up, where they had to share their home in Ramsay, Calgary, despite both of them being back on the dating scene, and making plans for a future that didn't include the other

The couple had dated for four years before getting married, but by 2014, their relationship had fallen apart

Although it had always been clear they loved each other, Shannon and Josh had very different personalities

While Josh, 29, worked with old buildings and was quiet, Shannon, 25, was a vibrant aspiring actress and a larger than life character who loved to be the centre of attention

She'd been into drama since school and was an accomplished musician. With red hair, green eyes, and a wicked sense of humour, Shannon found work as a voice actress, a performance artist and as a stand-up comedian

After the couple had decided to separate, they'd agreed to date other people, and Shannon had started to pack her things

She was looking to move to Edmonton, which was three hours away, to pursue her acting dreams

But in the early hours of November 27, Josh got in from a night out and they fell into old habits

They slept with each other – but it was far from a reconciliation. Afterwards, they started to argue, and, according to Josh, fiery Shannon told him that she wished she'd never married him and that she didn't need him any more

They were words Josh couldn't handle, and he put his hand over his estranged wife's mouth to try and silence her

When she fought back and bit him, Josh climbed on top of her and silenced her screams by tightening both his hands around her neck

Then he finished the job with his belt. Pulling it hard until Shannon was dead. Josh then shoved his wife's body in a plastic bin

It was winter so the ground was frozen solid so he was unable to bury her body. He put the makeshift plastic coffin on the patio, where it would stay until the ground thawed

With the freezing temperatures, Shannon's body was preserved. On December 1, Shannon's sister Erin reported her missing

She hadn't met her brother as arranged and that was very unlike her – she was close to her family

She wasn't answering her phone – unheard of for an actress waiting for news from her agent about auditions

Because Josh and Shannon were separated, there was no suspicion cast on Josh about not reporting her missing

After all, Shannon was an independent woman who was starting a new life without him

In fact, Josh was welcomed to stand by Shannon's family as they desperately pleaded for information

Shannon always joked that she would know she'd 'made it big' when she got herself a stalker – had someone targeted her? Josh joined Shannon's parents and siblings as they held a press conference, begging for her safe return

'It is unbelievably unlikely for her to disappear and not actually contact anybody,' said sister Erin

'We're going to stay as optimistic as long as we possibly can.' As the months rolled by, Josh could have put Shannon's loved ones out of their misery and told them her fate

Instead, he was seen by staff at his local store, kissing and holding hands with a woman

Then in the spring, when the ground was finally soft enough to dig a hole, he buried Shannon in the garden of her own home

He covered the grave with dirt, branches and cement slabs. But the guilty can only hide for so long and the investigation was closing in on Josh

In July 2015, seven months after Shannon had vanished, police went to Josh's home with a search warrant for his phone and car

Josh refused to come out and a stand-off began. Knowing his time was up, he told the police over the phone that he'd killed Shannon

It would take several hours before Josh agreed to come out of the house, and when he did, he'd superficially cut his own throat with a utility knife and was taken to hospital

Once stitched up, he was taken in for questioning. Officers had found Shannon's body in the back garden and Josh explained why he'd picked there to bury her

'I chose my lawn because I just didn't want her to leave,' he admitted. When asked why he'd murdered his wife, he said that he'd 'just wanted her to stop talking'

They would have given anything to hear her voice again – and yet silencing her had been the 'reason' she'd been killed

In August 2015, Shannon's family finally got to mourn their daughter,  with a celebration of her life held at a theatre in Calgary

More than 500 family members, friends and colleagues took to the stage to perform or share memories of Shannon

It was a fitting tribute to the talented musician and actress, and was called Shannon's 'farewell tour'

In December 2017, on the day that Josh, now 31, was due to stand trial, he changed proceedings by pleading guilty to second-degree murder

The plea came as part of an agreed statement of facts that were read aloud in a courtroom to explain what had happened that fateful day

Despite a rehashing of all the horrific details, the arrangement spared Shannon's family from sitting through a trial that would have been full of even more upsetting evidence

'The details are gruesome, painful and undignified,' Justice Pat Sullivan said. At the sentencing, Shannon's family had prepared victim impact statements which were read out

They talked about their loss and their feelings of betrayal from a man they'd considered to be family

They noted that Josh had pretended to grieve with them while Shannon was missing

'[He] kept us suffering for so long, intentionally keeping us in limbo,' said Shannon's sister Erin, referring to her as her best friend

'Spending seven months looking for my sister was the hardest thing I have ever done

My mind would go to the darkest places wondering where she could be and what happened to her

'When she was finally found, a whole new dark period started.' Shannon's dad, David, described his daughter as a talented performer and said her death had left him without purpose

David spoke of his devastation that he'd failed to protect his daughter – but never saw Josh as a threat and neither had Shannon

'There was no indication at all on her part that she had any concerns for her safety,' he said, choking back tears

'I feel a significant amount of betrayal. Josh was not some stranger on the street, but rather someone we had welcomed into the family

' David turned to Josh and said, 'Today, I hope this is the last day I ever see you

' Josh was allowed to make a statement and used it to apologise. 'I'm very sorry for the vows that I made, that I promised to look after her, no matter what the circumstances were

I failed her in that,' he said. 'For several months afterwards, everybody stood by me, unquestionably

I failed all of you in that and I am so very sorry for that and so very sorry that I didn't say something earlier

' They were empty words to those mourning Shannon and they were relieved when Josh was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole until he'd served 10 years

Shannon loved the spotlight, but sadly it was her death that brought her fame

Just before 1 p.m., Kansas City Scout tweeted: "Crashes involving multiple vehicles on I 70 at mile marker 58 near Concordia and mile marker 29 near Bates City have closed WB I 70."

About an hour later, they said that delays were up to six hours.

Twenty vehicles were involved in the crash in Concordia. Six tractor trailers were involved.

Two people were hurt in the crash and their conditions are unknown.

When the crash happened, it was during near whiteout conditions.

I 70 was shut down completely for hours.

By 6 p.m. on Friday, crews were still working to clear the highway. However, the eastbound lanes had reopened and one westbound lane had reopened.

Crews had to move barrels off the road, which came off of a vehicle during the crash.

Collin Stosberg with the Missouri Highway Patrol said the concern now is the freezing conditions.

If you do find yourself in a crash or in a slide off its important that you stay inside your vehicle. If youre on the road, thats the worst place you can be. So, get off the road and wait for help to get to you.

Padraig Harrington announced as Team Europe captain for 2020 Ryder Cup in America - Duration: 1:18.

Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington has been named as Europe's captain for the 2020 Ryder Cup

The 47-year-old has served as a vice-captain at the last three Ryder Cups and appeared in the biennial contest against the United States six times as a player, beginning at Brookline in 1999

He was on the winning team in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2010.  Harrington succeeds Thomas Bjorn in the role for next year's contest at Whistling Straits, where Europe will be bidding to defend the trophy won in convincing fashion in Paris in September

Harrington, who is currently out of action after slipping on the stairs at home over Christmas and breaking a bone in his wrist, said: "Obviously I'm thrilled to be named as Ryder Cup captain for 2020, it's not something I went into lightly

"You could look at this as being a natural progression from player to vice-captain to captain, but it's not something I take on without a certain amount of trepidation

"I really want to be a help, I want to hopefully leave the European Tour and Ryder Cup in a better place after two years, but I know we are going to a new venue, it's an away match, we're going to have on average three more rookies coming into the team and I have to be part of that team and ensure that I find an edge to make the team perform to the best of their abilities and hopefully get a win

The Van Dijk prediction that correctly tipped Reds man for stardom - Duration: 2:46.

Neil Lennon has told of how he knew Virgil van Dijk would be destined for Premier League stardom from his very first Celtic training session

The Dutch centre-back joined the Scottish champions in 2013 from Groningen for a reported fee of £2

6million and Lennon quickly realised the Bhoys had snared a talent.   Van Dijk spent two seasons with Celtic, winning two domestic titles and the Scottish League Cup before a move to Southampton materialised in the summer of 2016

The Netherlands captain's stock has only risen since and he became the world's most expensive defender when Liverpool spent £75m on him in January 2018

Tilda Swinton submits new plans for extension to her Highland home including a wet room for her DOGS - Duration: 4:53.

Actress Tilda Swinton has submitted new plans for renovations at her £650,000 Highland home - including a wet room for her dogs

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, wants to extend her home in Nairn, Scotland by replacing an outhouse and 'poorly constructed library and playroom'

The latest plans come after locals claimed that her previous designs would 'overpower the existing design' and were 'very strong and quite brutal'

She has asked Highland Council for planning permission to add a new kitchen, dining area, hallway, snug, pantry and a terrace at the listed 113-year-old home

She also wants to add a 'dog wet room' - complete with a boot rack and a set of steps

The actress withdrew her previous plans after submitting them in February last year following a raft of objections online

The new designs, submitted on February 4 and posted online yesterday, have yet to attract any comments

The Chronicles of Narnia star has four springer spaniels which appeared in an opera music video she directed last year

In planning documents for the proposed build, agent Henry Allan, of In-Built design, said: 'My client's brief was to increase the size of the kitchen and dining areas, while catering to the requirements of a large modern family

'The different habitation areas allow for a natural flow of the family.'Therefore creating an inclusive family environment while removing the eyesore of the hotchpotch of flat roofed buildings on the east gable

He added that the new extension would give both the actress and her neighbours more privacy

He said: 'The benefit of this to my client is that it gives a degree of privacy, as the houses adjacent are built on the upward slope and thus have a clear view into the rear garden from their ground floor windows

'Likewise providing privacy for neighbouring houses. The evolution of the extension from many sketched schemes fit the requirement of my client

'From the large, bright, airy, and relaxed feel of the kitchen and dining areas with the juxtaposition to the more formal rooms and the back vestibule, where everyday activities can be carried out without disturbing the rest of the house

'One of the features of the proposals is the mono-pitched roofs. The benefit of this is a high ceiling, in keeping with the rest of the house

'In summary, the new extension with it's mono-pitched roofs gives a contemporary, clean and defined appearance, which enhances, without detracting from the original building and replaces a substandard garage extension with a carefully considered and sympathetic addition, which would contribute greatly to the function of this much loved and painstakingly restored family home

' Highland Council will consider the plans later this year. Her home is category B listed - a Scottish categorisation which means a building is considered to be of regional or local importance

Trump is eviscerated for 'mimicking' Chinese President's accent - Duration: 4:13.

Donald Trump has been mercilessly ridiculed on Twitter for appearing to imitate the Chinese President's accent when discussing criminal sentences for drug dealers

Social media users were quick to pick up on Trump's change in accent when he told reporters of a conversation he had with Chinese President Xi Jinping at a press conference at the White House

He claimed he spoke with President Xi at a trade summit in Argentina about opioid imports to the U

S.which kill 'tens of thousands of people.' He said he asked the President to put the prescription pain-killer Fentanyl on their criminal list of drugs

Trump told reporters: 'With their criminal list a drug dealer gets a thing called the death penalty

Our criminal list, a drug dealer gets a thing called "how about a fine?"'.However his accent appeared to change and soften when he recalled what President Xi told him in response to a question, causing Twitter to go into meltdown

He said: 'When I asked President Xi, do you have a drug problem?, [he responded] "no, no, no

" Trump continued: 'I said you have 1.4billion people, what do you mean you have no drug problem?,  "No we don't have a drug problem

" 'I said why?, to which Trump said President Xi responded: 'Death penalty, we give death penalty to people that sell drugs

' 'End of problem.'He later claimed that the President had agreed to put Fentanyl on China's 'list of deadly, deadly drugs', adding that 'the penalty his death

' Trump then bizarrely said that giving the death penalty to drug dealers was 'one of the things' that excited him most about the U

S.trade deal with China which is currently being negotiated. The exchange led to eagle-eyed Twitter users calling him out for appearing to 'use a Chinese accent

' Matt Carter tweeted: 'Is Trump recommending the death penalty? And is he mimicking an Asian accent? Jack Bacon also commented: 'TRUMP IS USING AN ASIAN ACCENT WHILE QUOTING THE CHINESE PRESIDENT!!!

' Em Carlson wrote: 'Trump isn't racist? How about that racist Chinese? This is more than sickening

He is INSANE!.' Tom McCarthy also said: 'That's right, Trump seemed to be putting on – an accent?  as he supposedly quoted Xi

' A lot of people accused Trump of being racist and said they were even more shocked by his comments claiming that introducing the death penalty for drug dealers 'excited' him
