Meet & Greet #17 - David Gerbaulet - Sales Engineering Manager for Americas, UK and Asia - Duration: 2:49.
Hello, I'm David Gerbaulet, Pre-sales manager for UK, Asia and Americas.
I'm within Globecast since ten years now, almost, quite some time.
I'm based in London, in the UK office.
As a Pre-sales manager for these three entities,
I'm overseeing the activity, the pre-sales activity. I have two people based
in Asia, one in the UK, one in in the US. On top of that I'm even involve
in the UK project, as well as international tenders.
All the pre sales activities from gathering requirement, doing the quotation,
defining the solutions and trying to sell it with our sales team.
I guess the challenge for customer today is that they don't really know where
they will be know maybe one or two years from now.
They have their internal stakeholder who also try to adapt.
All those content owner wants to basically have their content everywhere, so we have
nothing a multiplication of different way of broadcasting your TV channel, or even your content.
It's complicated for them right now to sign a contract
or to commit on a 3 years term like it used to be a couple of years ago.
Customer is the priority right? So I guess understanding their requirements is key.
Especially when the requirement is very little at the beginning.
To find out whether this requirement is just this one, or is maybe
linked to something a bit bigger and with a different impact.
That's the first step. Then, the way we are approaching it, is defining a solution
based on what we have in hands currently within globecast. But we may not have
everything, so in that case we will look for additional elements
external to globecast. At the end over there we also need to keep an eye on
what's going on on the market Globecast solution for particular type of service
could be good, but for another type of service we may be not the best on the market.
We need to be able to be flexible if necessary look for an
external solution if it's more appropriate for the customer.
And then, from there, we defining the best cost-effective solution for each project.

7 Tips voor succes - Duration: 4:59.
Hi, I am David, passionate video marketer since '96 and in this video
I'm going to talk about 7 tips for business success.
Tip one, set a specific goal and visualize it as a reality.
By thinking about the goal every day, your brain is trained
achieve this goal and one day it will also be a reality.
Tip two, look for a problem that you can solve for your customer
with a high-quality product or service. All successful companies
are based on high-quality products or services.
Tip three, start small with your company and be patient.
Invest your time instead of a lot of money.
Embroider your path to success! One of the best ways to become a company
to build up is to start small. This means that you start with very little money
and that you grow your business with the money you earn in the company,
instead of working with external financing, borrowed money from the bank,
from friends, etc. Tip four, test every big step before you invest.
Do not take too big steps, but continue carefully, step by step.
Tip five, expand based on your successes, from your winnings. With others
words, expand your business only with money you have earned with the company, not on borrowed capital.
Tip six, carefully select the people to help you grow.
The biggest mistakes you will ever make are choosing the wrong people
to work with, so be very careful when choosing people
with whom you will work in your company.
And Tip seven, use financial leverage.
Financial leverage is borrowing fresh capital from the bank,
which is based on the cash flow of your company. The whole purpose of starting
a company is to be a consistent, predictable source of cash flow
development that exceeds costs and expenditures and then the money
to hold on. Banks lend you all the money you have with your cash flow
can pay off as debt.
One last thing, if you start without money,
Then work part-time in a similar company as you want to build yourself.
It is a great learning experience. You can then work step by step
to building your business.
Sometimes a company that looks great from the outside looks terrible
once you get started. But sometimes you get a good insight
how it works and how you can improve it.
However, do not forget that most companies go bankrupt due to
managerial incompetence. So take the time to learn what you need to know
to pass. Be patient.
The time you invest before you start will be the coming months
and earn back years. Here are two things that you can do immediately
to implement these business success formulas:
First, be prepared. The main reason that people
To succeed in starting your own business is that they have the knowledge and experience
have that they need to succeed. Do your homework.
Second, start small. Some people think they are successful faster
being able to put all their money in the foreground at the beginning.
The opposite is true. Start small and grow out of your cash flow
from successful operations.
