People joke about this topic all the time. I've had people come up to me and
say, "Oh so-and-so could really use you." have you ever wondered seriously what
can a psychologist do for me? When people find out that I'm a psychologist, I get
all kinds of different reactions. Some people want to tell me their whole life
story. Some people don't dare tell me anything
at all. It's just interesting what the perceptions are. You might have been
wondering what can a psychologist do for me. There are different kinds of
psychologists and I can't speak for all of them.
From a basic standpoint, I think my job as a psychologist is to illuminate the
obvious. Which is kind of cool. I get paid to tell people things they
already know. But there's obvious things that are unnoticed. Your clothing for
example. Do you notice it? Can you feel it? Yeah, it's obvious now but before I
mentioned it, it wasn't even noticed. Obvious but unnoticed. The fact that we're
speaking English. Honestly, did you notice? Some of you will say yes to that because
you're not native English speakers. And those are the ones who notice. If you
were raised speaking English primarily, you didn't
notice we were speaking English. It was just obvious but unnoticed. It's obvious
once I call it to your attention. There are processes in our mind that are just
like this they are obvious once they're called to your attention but completely
unnoticed up until that point. One of these processes is called metacognition.
Metacognition is a made-up word. Do we make up words in psychology because we
feel smarter when we can. Breaking it down, cognition means thinking. If we
place cognition right here on this level. metacognition is a higher level.
It's thinking about thinking. And do you notice that you can do this? That's good
news. Because metacognition creates a little space. And in that space, is where
choice exists. Some of the processes that are constantly going on in our own mind
in our cognition are obvious but completely unnoticed up until the time
that they're called to your attention. That's what I do as a psychologist. I
think that's what people in my industry do. We help you to see those processes in
a metacognitive way because once you go to the metacognition level, then we enact
choice. And that's huge. We go through life sometimes not even
seeing that it's a choice. And I can tell you until you see it as a choice, it's
not. You will simply roll with whatever you're programmed, train, taught and
educated to do. And it's not necessarily by choice at that point. It's just your
programming. Programming like English you know, we talked about earlier. I don't
choose to speak English, I'm programmed to speak English. Well, with metacognition,
I can see that, "Wait a minute, English is not the only language, it's not
necessarily the best language. It's just the one that I'm programmed with." Could
we pick another one? Yes, we could. And that brings up all of the issues around...
Well, I'm not used to the other language, I'm not fluent in the other language,
right. So, you enter into a practice process. That's the other thing that I do
with my clients is to create for them opportunities to practice a new language.
A new programming, if you will. Where before, "My life is terrible, horrible,
awful, no good, got stuck in depression, anxiety." Whatever
it is. To speak a new language of, "You know what? My life is awesome. My life
rocks." And I've got the power to improve it from here. Both of those are positions.
But until you see it as a choice, it's not. The world that we work in in
psychology tends to be based around feelings and thoughts and beliefs and
relationships. All of which are affected by our previous programming. Most of
which were not even aware of because we just roll with our programming instead
of experiencing our choice. One of the biggest things that psychologists can do
for you is to help you see the processes that
are going on in your own mind clearly enough that you can get back into a
choice position. And determine for yourself. See, I can't tell you how to
think. I don't have that kind of authority. Plus it would just tick you
off anyway. I just want you to see that you are thinking. That thinking has
predictable results on all of your outcomes. Your relationships, your
finances, your health, your mental health, your happiness. Thoughts have
consequences. I and my other colleagues in the industry of psychology want to
help you get out of your own way. Now, I have to add a little disclaimer here.
Because none of the psychologists that I know, including the one on the screen
right now. None of us have this all figured out. We're just fellow human
beings on the planet. What I've discovered however is that
principles determine all of life's outcomes. And there are certain
principles that by virtue of my practice and what I've been able to do here for a
quarter of a century. I have observed that certain principles determine
certain outcomes with happiness, for example. Positivity. You've heard this.
Forever, right? Just think positive. Does that annoy you too? Probably depends on
who's saying it and why. I've figured out through my practice and what all my
clients have taught me used over these years, why? That is absolutely very
literally true. The positivity is a choice in that it matters and that just
think positive, we'll take the just out of that phrase and it's more accurate.
Think positive. How do you do that? There's 2 processes.
Evaluation and creation. I went over that in another video. And in fact, you know
what? I would be happy to share with you my mini book. In fact, you know what? I
would be willing to share with you a free digital copy of my mini book.
Portable Positivity. I'm not trying to sell this to you. What I'm offering here
is an insight into the principles that I have learned through 24 years
of clinical practice where I've figured out how positivity works and how you can
immediately implement it in your life. I wrote it up as a mini book. There's a
model in here that describes 2 processes in your mind. Evaluation and
creation. You can't turn either one off and your imagination drives both of them.
You can get a free digital copy. Just check down in the description for the
link and enjoy. This is what I do in my work is a psychologist. I've been
speaking specifically about what I do as a psychologist. Other psychologists have
different specialties, different areas of practice. I used to for example do child
custody evaluations for the court. Some of the videos here on the channel are
about that. I don't do that kind of work anymore but I share what I've learned in
these videos so that you can benefit from it. I did a doctoral dissertation on
bedwetting. Who knew? I know more about that than you ever want to know. But you
what? If you want to know what I know, go see the videos that I've done on
bedwetting. Different psychologists have different focuses or areas of practice.
And so, how they can help you might differ from how I can help you. Where I
focus on things like positivity and parenting and relationships and
entrepreneurship and productivity in the workplace. See, those are the things that
light me up. Another psychologist might focus on research or on a particular
educational approach that helps to maximize learning or whatever it might
be. It's just like any other field or industry where there are different
subspecialties. Poked around a little bit and see what you can find out about the
particular areas that you're interested in. Or leave me a comment down below, send
me an email. Engage with me in ways that I can help to answer those questions for
you too. I'd be happy to do that. Hey, Live On Purpose family. I am so
impressed that you're still here. That you're listening to the outro for this
video. And because of that, you get a special bonus. Don't tell anybody else.
But down there in the description is a link where you can get a free copy, a
digital copy of mini eBook. Portable Positivity. Check it out in the

Fred (grateful) for Jose Mourinho's support | Manchester united vs young #mufc - Duration: 5:01.
Jose Mourinho adds Eder Militao to Manchester United centre-back targets.
Jose Mourinho is said to be eyeing the Porto defender, after his side recorded their worst
start to a Premier League season in 28 years.
Jose Mourinho has added Brazil international Eder Militao to his list of Manchester United
transfer targets, according to reports.
The 20-year-old, who has made 13 appearances for Porto this season after signing from Sao
Paulo in the summer, is reported to have caught the United manager's eye with his displays
in the Primeira Liga.
Porto top the table, two points clear of Sporting Lisbon, and have set the pace in group D of
the Champions League with three wins, and a draw in their European campaign so far this
season.
And Militao, who has once been capped for the Brazilian national team, and is reported
by the Daily Record to fit the requirements of prospective transfer targets at Old Trafford.
United are reported to be targeting players who could offer a resale value, in a strategy
which saw club officials veto Mourinho's attempts to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld,
with Spurs demanding north of £50 million for the 29-year-old.
The Reds could face competition for Militao, however, with Manchester City and Everton
reportedly vying for his services.
United have been linked with a move for Napoli defender Kaildou Koulibaly throughout the
season in light of Mourinho's frustration at the club's failure to land a senior centre-back
in his summer recruitment drive.
The 27-year-old Senegal international has made 17 appearances for the Serie A outfit
this season and his contract at the Stadio San Paolo runs until the summer of 2023.
Alexis Sanchez more set on Man United exit than ever.
Boss Mourinho left £500000 a week Sanchez out of United's squad vs Young Boys having
made it clear he was fit.
Alexis Sanchez has been left raging after his latest slight from Jose Mourinho.
Sanchez's relationship with Mourinho is at breaking point, after the Manchester United
striker did not even make the substitutes' bench for the Champions League win over Young
Boys on Tuesday night.
It has strengthened the former Arsenal star's determination to quit Old Trafford, after
less than a year as he fears he has no future at the club under Mourinho.
Sanchez, who is on wages in excess of £500,000-a-week at United, has told pals he wants to leave
Manchester and has set his heart on a move to star-studded French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho went public with the fact that Sanchez was not injured for the Young Boys fixture,
and there is a belief that was done very deliberately to make it clear the 29-year-old Chile international
has been dropped.
His move to United last January, in a swap for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, is in serious danger
of becoming one of the costliest mistakes in Premier League history, because of the
way Sanchez has fallen out of favour with the Special One.
This latest exclusion was a surprise as he played in United's win at Juventus in their
previous Champions League fixture, and was also used a substitute in the draw with Crystal
Palace on Saturday.
Sanchez has managed just one goal in the Premier League this season though, and his form and
confidence have taken a major hit.
The former Udinese and Barcelona frontman is one of several disaffected United players
currently struggling under Mourinho.
Three-time Premier League winner Mourinho is under huge pressure at Old Trafford with
his Reds down in seventh place, 14 points behind leaders Man City, and knows he must
deliver a top four finish.
Though his knack for getting teams through to the Champions League knock-out stages — achieved
with Marouane Fellaini's late winner on Tuesday — has eased the crisis, the belief in the
dressing room is that he is likely to be gone by the summer.
Fred grateful for Jose Mourinho's support.
Manchester United midfielder Fred thanked manager Jose Mourinho for helping him to settle
at Old Trafford, after the team edged past Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Fred, a £52million capture from Shaktar Donetsk in the summer, has struggled to make an impression
in England after United beat rivals Man City to his signature, despite having been one
of the most highly sought-after players in Europe during his time in Ukraine.
The Brazil international was guilty of giving the ball away, and playing teammates into
trouble as United dragged themselves past the Swiss champions in their latest uninspiring
Champions League outing, and he has shown little sign of the talent that persuaded the
club to go toe-to-toe with City for his signature.
Even so, he was quick to pay lip service to his manager who largely retains faith in his
big-money summer signing - for now.
The Brazilian was hauled off and replaced by Paul Pogba with 25 minutes to go against
Young Boys, but sources close to the player say he is not disheartened and is determined
to make a success of his time in England.
He failed to make an appearance for Brazil at last summer's World Cup despite being named
amongst coach Tite's 23-man squad, with reports claiming he took an injury to Russia which
prevented his involvement.

Who is Dominic Thompson? Arsenal's teenage star selected for FC Vorskla trip - Duration: 3:29.
Dominic Thompson is one of nine outfield players from Arsenal's Under-23s squad that Unai Emery has taken with him for Thursday's Europa League game against FC Vorskla
The Gunners go into the game having already secured passage into the knockout stages so Emery has opted to leave almost all of his big hitters back in north London with Sunday's crucial Premier League meeting with Spurs in mind
The likes of Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey, Rob Holding, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Matteo Guendouzi have made the journey to Kiev - but the travelling squad is made up of several teenagers who have yet to make their senior debut for the Gunners
Thompson is one of them and he will be hoping to get the call from Emery to make his first appearance for the club he has been with since he was a boy
The left-back signed his first professional contract with the Gunners in June, having spent the past six years progressing through the academy at Hale End
Thompson was originally spotted by the club in late 2011 while playing for Brent in a game against Barnet, he was invited to train with the academy teams before then being given a six-trial
Arsenal travelling squad for Europa League clash vs FC Vorskla revealed View gallery He finally signed schoolboy forms in May 2012 after being told by Liam Brady that the club wanted to offer him a contract
"We played a game against Reading at the Emirates," said Thompson, describing the moment Brady told him the news
"We lost 1-0 and we were all quite deflated but Liam called me over for a quick chat as I walked off the pitch
"I thought I'd done quite well in the game and so I was puzzled and didn't have a clue what he wanted to talk to me about
To my delight he told me that he wanted to offer me a two-year contract as a schoolboy
"From being so sad because we lost, I was so happy and I ran straight into the changing rooms with a massive smile on my face
" Other than a brief spell with the U16s playing as a central midfielder, Thompson has spent his time at Arsenal as a left-back
He captained the U18s on several occasions last season and was a key part of the run to the FA Youth Cup final, where Arsenal were eventually beaten by Chelsea

How To Find and Size The Right Bible Cover For Your Bible - Duration: 21:00.
hi this is Jim with Gods411 today we're going to talk Bible covers what
purpose do they serve do you need one do you not need one why do people have
them all that good stuff so if you're interested hang on and I'll be right
back hi welcome back we have had so many
people ask us if they need Bible covers you know what purpose do they serve or
why do they even make of hybrid covers and it's a really good question so today
we're going to do a short video that just shows you the Bible covers what
kind how they work what Bibles will fit what Bibles won't fit and just kind of
just some tips and tricks of what not to do and what to do that I've learned over
boy the 20 years of retailing that I've been in so hang on Oh we'll get started
all right first of all this is a just an example of a Bible cover and just
basically people do or use Bible covers for two reasons either to protect their
Bible like they have a hardback to protect it or really the main reason is
you take it to church it provides you with a handle Bibles now I mean if you
have a hard back Bible cover they're really heavy so it's it's easier to
carry around in like a purse or some type of a little handle I don't want to
say purse because if you're a guy that kind of sounds kind of unmanly right but
it's a nice way of carrying your Bible to church just with a handle and the
other nice thing is it seems like nowadays we have so much stuff I mean
you've got phones you got pencils you got notepads you got all this stuff so
instead of trying to put it into your purse or trying to carry it like in your
pockets or your hoodie or your pockets down here it's nice to stick everything
into one so you have everything when you go to church and you want to study
you've got all right they're ready to go so let's take a look at the two types of
Bible covers there are really two types Bible covers out there there is a canvas
type of a Bible cover which is more of a cloth feel to it and then there's like
these which are bonded leather leather simulated leather leather I've seen
vinyl ones like that Bible covers range all the way I've seen them cheap $9.99
all the way to this which would be like a 25 I've even seen a $34 Bible cover
even though I think a $49 Bible covered be honest so those are the types of
choices that you can choose from the other thing then would be deciding on
what size and I will tell you in just a moment of how to measure your Bible to
fit a Bible cover and then the other decision you want to make is how simple
do you want your Bible covered be some people just like their Bible cover just
to cover the Bible and that is it I mean most Bible covers even like the 999 one
will come with some kind of a pocket and that's about it as if up on the nicer
ones which I have here which I'll show you come with just a lot of pockets and
zippers and pen holders and a place to put your notes and all that good stuff
and if you're like an organized person this is just awesome
because it gives you a place to put everything and organize it and you just
love it so if you're trying to find a Bible cover you pretty much want to
figure out or know what type you want you want to just a simple one or do you
want one with more bells and whistles and this one we'll take a look at in
just a moment but I want to show you what Bibles will fit into your Bible
cover and how to measure and it's really so so so important there's one thing
that I'm gonna give you that we see it's so hard to buy your Bible cover online
and most people that we have buy a Bible cover from us or Kim is they buy the
wrong size and they make one big mistake and it's so easy you see if you go to
like a Christian bookstore or a bookstore and you take your actual Bible
that you have and you match it up in the cupboard that's really simple but the
nice thing about the Internet is it gives you so many options to choose from
but you got to know how to measure your Bible so we'll go over that in a moment
but first let's take a look at what Bibles will fit into your Bible cover
and which ones are the best ones all right to be honest
okay now I've seen people do this and you can do this totally can do it but
let's just start over here a paperback does not do well in a Bible cover
because you need a hard piece of the cover to go slip into your Bible cover
and we're going to show you how to put one on we're going in I mean it's not
that hard but we'll just do an example of how to slip it into your Bible cover
so these paper bags I would not recommend I would not do a paper bag
because this ends up slipping out and ends up folding over your Bible will
actually slip out of your cover because it just doesn't hold it so paperbacks no
I wouldn't do it leather Bibles bonded leather some other
type of material that other than a paperback okay the problem being is that
these are so bendable and pliable that again you know this piece has to slip
into your Bible cover and sometimes if you have a heavy Bible there'd be a lot
of pressure on this and I've seen them not be so great you can do it and I've
seen a lot of people put this type leather or bonded leather in there but
it's not the best but again if you're looking to just take your Bible to
church and you want a lot of bells and whistles and pockets I would go for it
yours totally can the best type of Bible to put in your Bible cover is the
hardback Bible cover because this the bond I mean that the hardcover is slits
them thus I have a dust cover on just so we're just going to take the dust cover
off okay and put that over there the hardback just is so much better because
it gives your Bible cover just like something rigid something to just
ability but if a person only has one Bible and you have like a leather Bible
yeah absolutely I would go for it and I would do it but just know the best type
of Bible to put in there is a hardback Bible so how do you find a
Bible cover on the Internet it is so hard because you don't you know you're
not matching it up so you have a Bible and then you're going online and you're
looking up what Bible cover is best for you so here is my advice if you're
looking for Bible covers there's either going to be like I've seen mediums not
that don't sell that well large definitely is probably the best selling
and then I've seen extra large and then on the date Bible I think I've seen
extra extra at large I personally would not go off of the what they say in size
I would look for a Bible cover that gives the dimensions I would not say you
know I have a Bible cover and I just need a large or an extra-large I would
not go after that so if you're looking online be sure that they give you the
measurements of the Bible and they give you three measurements they'll give you
need a met okay so three measurements of how you need to measure your Bible okay
so you need to go the width of your Bible the length of your Bible and then
very very very very important the thickness of your Bible and the reason
this is so important is that if you get a Bible cover so it's going to say like
you know for example let's let's back up for example it's gonna say this cover is
an eight you know an eight by ten by two inches if you don't get your Bible cover
to fit this thickness it won't close the zipper will not close and if you force
it in there if you try to jam your Bible cover your Bible into the Bible cover
the zipper sometimes will rip the stitching will rip and you've ended up
just wasting your money on a Bible cover so very important okay one of my biggest
things I can recommend in this video get your measurements of your Bible and
especially your thickness of the Bible one other huge
recommendation okay huge is don't get a cover that's exactly
the exact size okay so if it's an eight by ten by two and a half okay you don't
want a Bible cover that's exact size you want to get a Bible cover that would be
an eight and a half by ten and a half or eleven by like two and a quarter or two
and a half inches because that's going to leave you a little bit of room for
your Bible to expand I mean you're always putting phones and notes and pens
and bulletins and all that good stuff in the Bible so if you get your Bible cover
so tight the biggest thing that happens again is the zipper will rip the actual
stitching will rip on the zipper and then it's like everyone had a suitcase
where you're jamming your stuff in your suitcase and you're barely zipping the
suitcase it's like that it's not good so you want your Bible cover not to fit
tight but to be a little bit comfortable so you have enough room in there and
that again is one of the biggest things that I can recommend for you if you're
looking for a Bible cover okay so let's take a look this Bible cover really
quick and then what I'll do and like I said it's not that hard but I'll just
show you how to put the Bible cover in and how it looks okay all right this is
a bound a bonded leather Bible cover and as I said before it either is for
protecting your Bible or just the ease of carrying it with like all the pockets
and the bells and whistles and things like that and what I'll do is in just a
minute I'll show you a close-up of all of this so you can really see it closed
but I'll just kind of go over and explain to you the base of a basics of a
Bible cover it may seem really simple but there's a lot of people out there
that they don't know you know why they don't know what it what it offers and
I'll tell you pretty much what a Bible cover does offer so again you can buy a
canvas or upgraded like a leather vinyl or a
bonded leather or a faux leather so basically when you get your Bible cover
it's always going to have a handle if it doesn't have the handle I wouldn't get
it because this is what makes it so nice when you're carrying your Bible you know
to church always comes with a zipper that you open you know always comes like
that a lot of them will come with a foam insert so it doesn't collapse you just
throw this foam insert away you don't need that
select the outside of the Bible okay most Bible covers even the most simplest
will come with just like one zipper on the outside just to put notes or a pen
or stuff like that you know just good stuff all your good stuff right upgrade
to Bible covers like this will come with more of like a zipper on the outside so
say you have this you know you can take your phone and I can put my phone in
there it fits totally perfect at church this one
actually has another zipper that you could fit your pens or pencils or if
you're a girl or a female you can put lipstick or makeup or you name it so
when you're looking for a Bible cover look for all of the excuse me the
outside pockets I mean how many do you want
the other side of this Bible cover really doesn't have anything and a lot
of you will do that they'll just have one pretty much outside or they'll have
like two pocket slips that you could slip on the inside so like I said I like
this because you can put your phone in love it love it love it
the other thing that this one has now all of them will have just like an you
know you have a Bible cover and open it up and this is where you place your
Bible and you're slipping in here and I'll show you how to do that a lot of
them some of them the deluxe level covers will actually come with enough
like this that you can open up and it has a place for it gives you notes
please put your notes right here it gives you a pen holder most all Bible
covers will give you a pen holder so that's this little brown little loop
thing that you may not know what it is and then the other the flipside of this
they're gonna give you pockets will face this thing pockets for like pens
highlighters erasers all writing utensils just all sorts of good stuff
pockets that you could put in there so if you want to take notes this is the
great way to take notes this is the deluxe Bible cover and it happens to
give you actually it gives you like a starter notepad give just some
highlighters and a pen to write it again it just depends what you want the basic
Bible covers are just gonna give you a plain cover the deluxe Bible covers are
gonna give you more pockets more zippers more all of the good stuff and even the
deluxe one is going to give you more of like an actual starter set this is a
really really great one I really like this one so that's pretty much it it's
pretty simple as far as Bible covers a lot of them come and I don't see it on
here but a lot of them inside and you need to look for this this is another
thing that you want to look for is a ribbon a lot of them will have sewing in
like a ribbon right here this one does not and I kind of like it because so say
you're reading like Philippians in your church and you want to just flip right
to Philippians so you'd put the little ribbon right in Philippians close up
your Bible cover so that when you open up your Bible cover again or your Bible
you can flip right to where the pastor was talking or you know when you're new
in your Bible study so that's another thing that you want to look for so
pretty simple I just gave you some things that you want to look for when
you're buying your Bible cover now let's go ahead and take a look again it's not
that hard but you know I'll put the Bible cover in the Bible just
kind of a close-up to show you I'll show you the pot gets what it looks like it's
just a close-up so we'll go ahead and do that right now okay all right here is a
close-up of a Bible cover and I'll just show you how to put it in I'll just kind
of I will show you a close-up of this cover which we have here and just some
things to look for it's really pretty simple but we'll just go over it real
quickly so basic let's move it like I said a hard cover is going to work the
best for your Bible cover let's move that aside for right now my table
squeaking so a basic Bible cover it's like this and again it depends you can
get bells and whistles this does come with the outside zipper here and another
zipper in here that you could zip out so you could put your phone all Bible
covers should come with a handle that you'd want and this Bible cover over
here does not come with anything on the other side of it so again you can get a
really basic Bible cover with no zippers no bells no whistles just a plain Bible
cover or you get something that's a little bit more fancy like this one
so all Bible covers when you get them will put like this because it's pretty
much like that the hand was usually to the left you're gonna unzipper it the
main part and most Bible covers come with a foam padding that just helps it
stay firm and up so we just take this we're gonna take that and put that away
and as you can see almost all of them well most of them with a hard spine
right here that's going to be to support your Bible so you can carry it because
Bibles pretty much are pretty heavy nowadays so putting in a Bible is really
simple you just want to start on one side and you're gonna want to put your
you see they always become let's back up they come with two sleeves there's
Leslie right here and a sleeve right there and
some people have been written said are these pockets no they're not pockets I
mean I guess you could use them to put stuff in but they are not designed to be
an inside pocket so let's clear that up when you see these two these two these
are what your Bible cover slips into and as you can see what we were talking
about is if you have a leather Bible that these aren't very solid so when
you're putting your Bible in it doesn't make you can do it but it doesn't hold
it very well because it's pretty flexible and pliable but absolutely if
that's your Bible you can absolutely use it we're gonna use a hardcover Bible
because that fits the best so you line your Bible up like that you would just
go ahead and slip the one side in just kind of work it in slip all the way in
oops I knock the camera and and go ahead and close it see how it's fitting
already then get the other side and split the other side in and you might
have to kind of work it a little bit to kind of get it in there and then you
pretty much just fold it up and that's it pretty simple
I'm you go ahead and zipper it let's zip it rich
and there you go pretty easy like I said this is a really
good fit and like I was saying before you most important you want to know
you're with your link and most importantly you want the thickness of
the Bible and as you can see the zipper zipped really easily it's dipped really
well not a problem and this fits really nice and you could just take your Bible
cover and carry it like that it's pretty heavy
I mean Bibles are pretty heavy but that is how you put your Bible into the Bible
cover so I hope that answered all your questions on Bible covers next video
next week we are going to be talking about Bible tabs do we need them do you

Wojtek Deregowski Interview for BeatIt - Duration: 9:54.
Wojtek Deręgwski at Silesian Drum Festival 2018 in Chorzów, Poland!
Let's go back a couple of years to the Meinl Drum Festival held in Warsaw.
I told you then it wouldn't be long before you played.
You foresaw that.
What are your impressions after your performance?
I'm very pleased.
I didn't have it all planned out step by step. I'd outlined basic topics I wanted to cover but I also knew Q&A was going to be a part of my appearance.
I knew I was gonna do two tunes at the start and a solo at the end. The solo was done off the cuff, I didn't know what I was gonna play until the last moment. I think it went oK.
Sure.
We liked the interaction between you and the audience, which doesn't happen that often at such events.
Yes. Quite often, there's no reaction and things get a bit awkward.
Luckily, questions were asked and there was no awkward silence.
You also revealed a few secrets.
Yeah, well…
Those are secrets. Education is about selling knowledge.
Those who bought tickets and came to the festival left with some knowledge.
Hopefully.
What you did was a workshop after all.
True.
You said you didn't prepare very meticulously for the performance but had some concept of it.
Are you thinking of taking this kind of thing further? Are there any plans of doing more events of this kind?
I believe there's another workshop you did not very long ago or are going to do very shortly.
Yes. There's more and more of these drum workshop type events.
Obviously, I plan to do more of them because I like to do it. I like to meet drummers as opposed to regular audiences who simply come to listen to music.
Regular people often don't pay attention to the drums.
It's good to have an audience who understands and can react to the details of what I do.
I did a few drum workshops before this festival. It was in Opole, Toruń and a few more cities.
I have plans to do more. One date is already confirmed. It will be in Warsaw.
Tell us about it.
I can't remember the date…
OK, we'll look it up.
I don't want to mislead anybody.
But it's coming soon…
Yes. There's also something brewing in Kraków so there's more and more of that happening for me.
Some time ago, you launched your own online shop with drum lessons.
How is the project going? What are your plans with regard to that? Do you sell only in Poland or internationally as well?
It's been developing very nicely.
Slowly but surely, things are going in the right direction.
Most of my customers are from outside of Poland. Probably because I do my lessons in English. I speak and write in English.
It's because Instagram reaches viewers all over the world, not just Poland.
I'd say less than 1 per cent of my customers are Polish people.
I made a conscious decision to write out and conduct my lessons in English to reach a wider audience.
Most of those who buy my videos are based in the US.
As far as my plans go, I want to further develop my online shop.
There's moments when I have more time for that and there's more busy periods.
It depends on how much I'm gigging 'cause these things come and go.
I'm glad I made an effort to launch my lessons and I'm certainly going to continue to develop that.
What are your plans as far a music is concerned? What are you doing these days? Who are you playing with?
Right now, I'm in four bands.
Drummers are always saught after…
It's pop singer Monika Lewczuk, who I'm more busy with in summer.
This gives me more time to play club dates with the other acts in the remaining part of the year.
Those are: Sorry Boys, Marcelina and Rosalie, whom I started working with very recently.
I haven't done too many gigs with her, but there's more coming soon.

its tasty and healthy can be eaten by every age group people
lets see what ingredients we need
[music]
to make dry fruits laddu we have taken jaggery
you can use either jaggery or sugar but if you take jaggery it will be good in winter
1 bowl makhana (Fox Nut)
1 medium size bowl coconut powder we have taken
if you wish you can take grated coconut also
1 bowl almond
same quantity we have taken cashew
raisin 1 bowl and pistachio little less then cashew and almond
green cardamom seed powder
half bowl ghee
if you measure in tablespoon its 3 tablespoon ghee
lets start making
pan is heated now
first of all we will add little ghee in it
keep the flame low
now add the coconut powder and roast it little
coconut power color has changed, we need not to roast much
now we will take it out in one plate
with the help of tissue paper we will take out the rest of the coconut powder
so the pan will be clean
now we will add all the ghee init
ghee is melted, keep the flame medium
add the almonds
for 1 min we have deep fried the almonds
we will take it out in the same plate
almond is ready
in same ghee we will deep fry the cashew
very carefully we have to fry the cashew it should not get burned.
keep flame medium high
once cashew color is changed we will take it out
now color has changed we will take it out in same plate
add the pistachio, we will deep fry this also
pistachio is ready, we will take it out
little color has changed
we will deep fry raisin also
keep the flame full
once raisin blows like bubble we will take it out
all raisin are blown like balloon now we will take this out
at last we will add fox nut (makhana)
we will switch off the flame
we have roasted the fox nut (makhana)
now we will take it out in same plate
we have deep fried all the dry fruits
till the time makhana (fox nut) gets in the normal temperature we will chop the cashew and pistachio
and almond and fox nut we will grind it in mixer
we will cut the cashew in small pieces like that
we have cut the cashew
now same way we will chop the pistachio
we have cut the pistachio
we will keep this also aside
now we have grind the almond and fox nut in mixer
if you wish you can grind the cashew also
its depends on your liking
in the same pan where we have deep fried the dry fruits we will add the jaggery
pan is heated now
we will melt the jaggery
its melted now we will add all the ingredients in it
keep the flame low
add the cardamom powder also
mix it well
keep the flame low and mix all the ingredients
we have mixed it for 1 min
now we will keep the flame high
in full flame we will mix it for 1 min
switch off the flame take out the pan
all the ingredient we have mixed it well by pressing hard
where ever the jaggery ball it there we will mix it well
it should not get cold otherwise it will spoil
to make its temperature normal we will take out the mixture in the plate
apply ghee in palm
once mixture is light hot we will start making laddu's
temperature is normal now we will make laddu
as your liking you can make small or big
just remember the mixture should not get cold otherwise laddu will not be get bind
something like this
same way we will make all the laddu
if you feel its getting cold then by using both the palm we will crush it and make the laddu
by using this way we can make laddu easily
dry fruits laddu is ready
we have made light sweet if you want more sweet then you can use 300 gram jaggery
if you are facing issue while making laddu
if you are making it while mixture is hot it will get bind properly
if its get cold then you will have issue
to overcome the issue you can heat the mixture again
after that it will get bind properly, if its not getting bind then you can use 2 tablespoon extra ghee while heating
just remember this otherwise its very easy
so apply the trick and tip and make this laddu

The Holidays Aren't Happy For Everyone - But You Can Help - Duration: 2:03.
The holidays are an opportunity to take stock of what we have to be grateful for,
and the good things in our life. Just breaking bread at a holiday meal
surrounded by your family and friends usually leaves us feeling pretty happy.
Unfortunately the holidays aren't always a time of happiness for everyone. And for
some they can feel lonely or even painful.
I'm Scott Gordon founder of Open Mortgage and I hope we can be cognizant
of others who may not have a positive mindset during the holiday season. While
many of us relish festivities and family time, for some holidays can't be
separated from bad memories from the past or feelings of loneliness or loss.
Has someone you know lost a loved one or received bad news? This may be a
difficult time for them as they relive past good memories. The good news is we
can all provide comfort at a time of year when people may feel their pain is
forgotten. Whether you lend an ear or your time or something from your wallet
or a place at your dinner table, you'd be surprised at how much small acts of
kindness truly make a difference in someone else's life. So while you spend
time this holiday season taking stock of everything you have and everything
you're grateful for, let's also take time to be aware of other people who may not
have it so well. I wish everyone the best this holiday season and from my home to
yours I hope there's plenty of holiday cheer to go around. Speak to you soon.
