Hello everyone. Today we're gonna answer the question: What is Starfish and how do
I learn more? In a nutshell, Starfish is a communication tool used to connect
students to campus resources. It also replaces our old early alert system, but
does so much more! To get started, go to the Valley College homepage and click on
"Students." Select the "Counseling" link from the drop down, and scroll down until you
see "Starfish" on the right side toolbar. This will bring you to our Starfish resource page.
At the top, you'll see a brief explanation of Starfish, as well as
some of the features it includes. From this page, you can also log into Starfish.
If you scroll further down, you'll find more specified resources for Students,
Instructional Faculty, as well as Counseling Faculty and Student Support Staff.
You'll also find information about Progress Reports Survey dates and
deadlines for the current semester, and how you can make contact with us to
schedule an open lab or one-on-one, to learn more about Starfish. We also post
monthly newsletters and have our contact information if any questions arise.
Hope this helps. Happy Starfishing!

Choosing a college is no easy task. You could look at schools close to home or
you could head west and check out Colorado Mesa University, because here at
CMU you won't find any of this, instead you'll find a lot of this, and this, and
you won't find this. When you want to ski or bike or hike you'll just find this,
this, and this, and with all this less than four hours from Denver you just
might find it's close enough and far enough at the same time.
