Cheap Houses | The Modern Small Houses With Simple Design, Convenient For Fast Life
-------------------------------------------
A Huge Warning Signal for the Stock Market... - Duration: 9:32.
- Good morning.
Hey, there's another reason
to seriously consider diversifying your retirement
portfolio away from Wall Street,
and that is that DC is on the attack against Wall Street.
My name is Bryan Ellis
with the Self-Directed Investor Society
and today, I've got some important information
to share with you and,
yes, I do have my thumb wrapped
in gauze and children's Band-Aids.
Smashed my thumb yesterday, kind of stupid,
but that explains why there's animated characters
on my thumb (laughs).
Hey, look, as we go through this,
I encourage your comments.
If you agree, if you disagree,
if you have anything to add, please have at it.
Now, yesterday, there was a big announcement
that came out of Wall Street.
Democrat Senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders
announced a new legislation package
that will regulate buy-backs.
Corporate share buy-backs.
This is gonna be a very bad thing for the market
if it was to actually pass.
As you'll see, a great reason to diversify
away from Wall Street and into other real estate classes
is that Wall Street represents the biggest political risk
of all asset classes that exist.
Whenever you think of investing,
whenever, DC,
whenever people in Washington think of investing,
what they think of is Wall Street.
That's the one they're gonna target
and that's the one they're targeting now.
A great reason to diversify away from that
and a great way to do that,
a great tool to use to do that,
is self-directed IRA,
and you can learn more about self-directed IRA,
these are the tools that allow you
to invest your retirement portfolio
in things other than stocks.
Things like real estate or precious metals
or intellectual property or just about
anything you can imagine.
If you'd like a free copy
of the Definitive Guide to Self-Directed IRAs,
just text IRAGUIDE to 833-212-2112.
Now, right now,
corporations are allowed to use their profits
to do, really there are about three things
they do with the excess profits.
One of them is that sometimes
they buy back shares of their own stock.
That means they have confidence
in the future of their company,
so they buy back shares of their own stock
and usually that means the remaining shares
of the stock on the market
are worth more from that point on.
Another thing they can do is pay out dividends.
And then another thing they can do is
do capital investments such as buy new equipment
and upgrade their existing equipment, et cetera, et cetera.
All three of these things are done a lot,
but the legislation proposed
by Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders
basically puts a big, big roadblock
in front of any company who wants to do that.
They're gonna demand that any company
who wants to do that first be paying
all of their employees 15 bucks an hour, regardless.
Think about McDonald's.
That would mean McDonald's was paying
the folks behind the counter
and flipping burgers, 15 bucks an hour to do that.
They would have to do that
before McDonald's can buy back any of their stock.
They're also gonna be first to offer
lots of paid time off
and a very specific and rather expensive benefits package.
In other words, the government is saying
before you can do with your money
what you think is best,
you've gotta do with your money
what we think is best.
Not a good situation.
Here's a quote that Schumer and Sanders offered yesterday.
It said, "At a time of huge income and wealth inequality,"
there's a red flag for you.
Any time you hear the word inequality,
that means there's a politician at work.
They're going to say, "Americans should be outraged
"that these profitable corporations
"are laying off workers while spending billions of dollars
"to boost their stocks value
"to further enrich the wealthy few," Senators said.
Now, look, my friends.
If you invest in stocks,
if you have a stock portfolio at all,
you are the wealthy few that he's talking about.
He's not talking about billionaires.
He's talking about people who own shares of stock.
That's who this will affect.
That means you.
That's why there's such severe political risk
in stocks right now.
So what does it really mean to you, practically?
Now look, buy-backs, again, are when
a corporation has excess capital, excess profits
and they buy back shares of their own stock.
It makes sense.
Sometimes the,
one of the most common times that stocks
are bought back by a company
is whenever the stock market is falling precipitously.
Maybe there's a crash.
Maybe there's just a really bad time going on
and a company that has available capital
might say, look, our stock was $100 last week.
Today it's $70.
Maybe we should buy back a whole bunch of it right now.
That'll make the remaining shares out there more valuable.
That makes a lot of sense.
So stock buy-back is whenever
a company buys back its own stock
using profits it's already earned.
And again, it's frequently used, by the way,
whenever the market is crashing and in a bad situation
and in so doing, in using it that way,
corporations are frequently the last line of defense
against their own stock falling apart in a market crash.
They provide a support, a floor,
for the value of that stock
because whenever a stock drops
and a corporation goes ahead
and spends a lot of money
to buy back those shares of stock,
that is a supreme vote of confidence
because nobody knows more about that company
than that company,
and whenever they buy back their own stock,
that's a wonderful support, a wonderful back stop
against horrible market declines.
Schumer and Sanders and the Democrats
wanna take that away from you.
This means that stock markets declines and crashes
will be more volatile than they've been before,
more severe than they've been before.
They won't be a back stop.
This legislation will take that away.
So how big is this issue of stock buy backs?
Well CNBC tells us that from 2008 to 17,
53% of corporate profits were used to do stock buy-backs
and this essentially boost the value
of the remaining shares, which is a good thing for you
as the owner of those stocks.
That's what you want.
30% of profits were used to distribute dividends
and the remainder, about 17%,
were used for capital improvements and other issues.
So, 53% of corporate profits through 2017 from 2008
were used for this purpose, so it's massive,
but it got even bigger last year in 2018.
There were over a trillion dollars worth of buy-backs
which is double what it was in 2017.
This is a big thing and it's getting bigger
and the politicians in Washington wanna take it away
from the people on Wall Street,
which means that your stock portfolio is going to suffer.
This will have a quenching effect on stocks.
Absolutely, and it will prolong severe market declines.
That's the reality and look,
CNBC,
which is who I've cited so far,
their coverage of this was really, really interesting
because they tend to be very much politically aligned
with people like Schumer and Bernie Sanders,
but all four of the analysts that CNBC
interviewed about this in the video they're showing today,
all four of those analysts poo-pooed this
and basically gave it a thumbs down
saying it's ridiculous, and it really is.
It's a clear example of politics over people.
Politics over the economy.
Politics over your life, your retirement.
This makes no economic sense.
It's stupid, it's awful.
And look,
people like you who invest their money in shares of stock,
you deserve the benefits of the profits of that company
working for you.
Yes, you own that stock,
but that doesn't seem you should be
demonized as the wealthy few
and that's exactly what's going on here, my friends.
They're not talking about billionaires
or even just millionaires.
They're talking about people who own stock.
That's you.
That is political risk.
You deserve the reward but DC doesn't want you to have it.
They just don't want you to have it.
This, again, is why it's so important
to diversify at least partly away from Wall Street
and into non-politically sensitive asset classes
and you know what?
Right now, that's anything other than stocks.
Wall Street is clearly, clearly in DC's targets.
That, again, is why you need to understand
what self-directed IRAs can do for you.
If you've got an IRA or 401(k)
that's invested in stocks,
you can move some of that money over
and invest it in things other than stocks.
Things like real estate, precious metals,
intellectual property, private loans, et cetera, et cetera,
and it's very easy to do.
Just test the word IRAGUIDE with no spaces or periods
to 833-212-2112
and I'll be happy to send you
a copy of the Definitive Guide to Self-Directed IRAs.
This is a great resource, it is totally free.
Just text the word IRAGUIDE with no spaces or periods
to 833-212-2112.
Message and data rates will apply like normal
but we won't charge you anything
to send you this great resource.
My friends, political risk,
which is what we're talking about today,
it's a real thing.
And it's something most people never consider
until it's way too late.
You can protect yourself against this
by diversifying some of your portfolio
away from Wall Street.
Do it while you still can.

Abbreviated Reviews - Praey for the Gods (Early Access) - Duration: 2:26.
Did you like Shadow of the Colossus?
Can you tolerate Early Access games that need some work?
Are you really really into snow?
Well then lace up your climbing boots because it's time for Praey for the Gods!
Blaze a trail in the survival slash boss rush game that ran a successful kickstarter in
August of 2016 to fund a three man team for the entire development process.
Then wait a minute to marvel at the pettiness of Bethesda nearly a year later as they force
a name change for using the word "Prey" in a completely different title.
Classic Bethesda...
Take on the role of a woman who has apparently washed up on a weird island and decided to
take this opportunity to kill any giant monster creatures she happens upon.
Run around collecting all sorts of important items like berries, wood, and bed rolls as
you engage in the only the most unnecessary of survival gameplay that could be created.
Craft and wield weapons like clubs and bows only to have them explode in your face after
a few swings like the least appealing part of Breath of the Wild!
Then make your way to the nougaty core of the gameplay, boss fights!
Are you ready to climb things and manage a grip meter?
Of course you are!
Track boss patterns, figure out puzzles while in constant danger, and climb like the ground
is both lava and acid!
Now you can track down all of those boss weak spots and attack them in the most logical
way possible... by ringing that bell!
Who knew these monstrous beasts would not only be brought down by some loud ringing,
but would carry these bells all over their bodies?
That just doesn't seem safe.
Traverse the snowy landscape battling random skeleton warriors while trying to decipher
the instruction-free game that only gives you suggestions and pictures to describe how
to do things.
Travel to the giant glowing quest markers in the sky for boss fights!
Collect random musical tiki heads to upgrade your grip strength!
Kill wildlife to complete the icons necessary for upgrading your clothes and items!
Then neglect it all as you complete the five available bosses of the unfinished game with
only a fraction of what can be collected!
Praey for the Gods, another game perpetuating unrealistic grip strength for a whole new
generation.
Thank you for watching Abbreviated Reviews, or at least it'll be called that until Bethesda
publishes a game called "Short Shitty Analysis" and sues me for trademark infringement.

Visual Studio For Mac: Customize Look And Feel - Duration: 3:20.
[MUSIC]
>> Hello, everybody.
Welcome to the next video in our series.
My name's Cody.
I'm a Visual Studio for Mac Program Manager at Microsoft.
Today, I'm going to share with you how to
customize the look and feel of your IDE,
so that you can make it truly your own.
Nowadays, late nights and long coding sessions,
all but require a dark theme.
Visual Studio for Mac is more than happy to help.
So, let's go ahead and make the dark theme our theme.
To do this, click on
the "Visual Studio" menu and navigate to "Preferences".
From here, you'll be on a Visual Style tab.
Here, you will see User Interface Theme.
Click here, navigate to Dark and click "Restart Visual Studio".
Now, that Visual Studio has restarted,
you can see it's a beautiful dark theme.
Let's open our project and see how the code looks.
Here, we had this beautiful light text against a dark background.
Great on the eyes and easy to read,
but let's not stop there.
No IDE is complete until I'm have the editor theme that I prefer,
and Visual Studio is more than happy to help there as well.
Again, let's click on the Visual Studio tab and go to Preferences.
Scroll down to the Text Editor section and look under Color Theme.
We offer a long list of
beautiful color themes to start off with. Let's go to Monache.
Simply clicking on it changes the look of the IDE.
We can now do Solarized,
Oblivion, and Groove Box.
Now, you might not have the exact theme that you want,
so we also support importing custom themes that you may
have for Visual Studio on Windows or any TM theme file.
In this case, let's import a Visual Studio style.
To do this click on "Add".
Navigate to where your settings file is.
In my case it's in Downloads folder.
Click on the "Settings" file and click "Open".
This should add it to the list,
as you can see Dracula is there.
Now, I'll click on it and look at that,
an amazing color theme.
It's easy to read and beautiful to look at.
The final change I want to do is to make it speak my language.
Visual Studio for Mac has
interface support for many different languages.
To change the language,
navigate again to Visual Style under environment.
Here, you can choose
under user interface language, any of the following.
I'm going to pick German.
Click on the language you want and hit "Restart Visual Studio".
Now, that Visual Studio restarted,
you see that it's in German.
[FOREIGN].
Thank you again for watching this video.
Today, I showed you how to edit
the theme of Visual Studio for Mac to make it a dark theme,
customized the editor, and switch the language of the IDE.
Please stay tuned for the next in our video series.

Linked In for All Pt1 - Duration: 19:05.
Hello welcome my name is Derrick Smith and I'm a career strategist with the
Academic Advising and Career Centre. Over the next few minutes, I will be your
guide as you walk through the process of understanding what LinkedIn is all about.
Let's take a look at where LinkedIn falls in on the job search map. This map
in particular helps you know where you are in the job search process. Although,
the map would suggest the process is linear, it's not. Job search from
beginning to end is recursive and circular. So what does this really mean?
Job search is not a linear process even though it is depicted this way. Often it
will involve taking a step or two forward and the one back because of the
insight you've gained through information or research that you've been
doing that suggests a new revision of some kind in your work is needed. It
means that as you embark on your job search, you may encounter a number of
things that will give you pause to consider how to incorporate what you've
been discovering. Any discovery may require you to revisit earlier work on
your resume, job target or strategies for breaking into the job market. For example,
a person who provides you with a suggestion that calls for a revision of
your resume, in your research you uncover information that helps you crystallize

profile on LinkedIn, in fact if you're not on LinkedIn it may lead them to

or got hired by an employer. Reach out to the people who are viewing
your profile. LinkedIn tells you who's viewing your profile, which opens the
door when it comes to meeting new people and making important connections. For
example, if someone you're interested in working with has read your profile you
can contact them saying "I know she viewed my profile I love to chat". Read
news from your connections. Your connections pose news tips and updates
which you can look over to stay current on industry trends and timely topics.

jobs that may not be posting anywhere else. Start to establish your expertise
by using LinkedIn content platform. LinkedIn invites users to create content
as well. Introduce others to your publications and your presentations
websites, blogs and more. Your profile has spots where you can list publications
you've authored and links to your blog website or other online content. It's a
great way to demonstrate what you're capable of it might be the reason you're invited
to an interview. At this time we ask you to pause this presentation and look at
the video "LinkedIn for Students; Top 5 Profiles to Do's", provided in your guide.
Once you've watched it you may then continue with this presentation. Now that
you've seen this quick video of the different pieces of information needed
to populate the LinkedIn profile, let's break it down again. Education what's
your major? What classes did you take? What skills did you develop? List your
organization's, your achievements, any honors such as presidents of the debate
team. Get recommendations to prove that you've got what it takes to get managers,
mentors and professors to post something that says that this person is smart,
hard-working, good natured and well-rounded. There are jobs to be found,
and recruiters looking to find you. Please take a look at the handbook
exercise set up your profile. Like all social
media, you are invited and encouraged to include a picture of yourself, one that
represents you as a career professional a professional background, a
professional picture is important. A profile photo humanizes your
representation on the site and you allow connections to recognize you when they
meet you in real life. If you are against having a profile photo for reasons of
discrimination, it may rear its head when you interact with companies later on
down the line, like in job interviews. With this in mind, and considering the
benefits of having your face on show, you're always better off with one rather
than without. If you don't have a profile photo, the first question a recruiter
will ask themselves is why not? You can use your computer camera or smartphone
to take good quality pictures, use a headshot, smile naturally. LinkedIn
profile photos often appear at small size so choose a shot with your head and
shoulders, look slightly to the left or right of the camera, rather than straight
on. Complete with a warm and natural smile to help you peer friendly, open and
approachable to prospects. Consider what is behind you, keep the background simple
and clutter-free, so not to cause a distraction. Kitchens or bedrooms are not
the best backdrop, pick a wall that is a bare solid color. LinkedIn's professional
culture means that your style of dress should reflect this a mere reflection of
the field you work in. This could be a nice check shirt a smart blouse or even
a suit and tie. Pick colours to complement your face and be sensible items such as,
makeup, jewelry and your hairstyle. Edit your photo, crop and size. You want to
crop and size your shot nicely too. Here are two good examples of a profile
picture that satisfies the criteria. In both cases the background is solid they
are dressed well, either too formal or too casual and both are offering a warm
and natural smile. Write a good headline what to put on a
headline for LinkedIn, the headline is one to three lines underneath your name
you have 120 characters including spaces for your headline, be brief and to the
point. Describe who you are and what you want
to do. Add something that describes a contribution you can make to the reader,
also known as your new employer. Use keywords others might use when searching
for candidates like you and remember professional nothing too personal.
Education, your degree and major ,what classes you took that gives you
specialization what skills you developed. What grades your GPA if 3.0 or higher,
and any awards publications or contributions. Your work history and
organizations like your resume, your profile needs to be accomplishment
oriented list your achievements honors acknowledgments and positions. List your
organizations and the positions or roles you held, such as customer service
representative or president of the debate team. Experience is more than just
paid work most of us, think if you're not paid for it it's not considered work.
Truth be told it is. Work is not defined by the paycheque. For example, volunteering.
Volunteering isn't just a way to give back to your community and make yourself
feel good. A regular volunteering job is a way to build experience, develop skills
gain your reputation, get references, build connections and who knows it can
sometimes turn into something like a paying work. Volunteer work is work, real
work and is something you can add to your resume. Because of that its
important to consider when looking at volunteer work, what you want to do
eventually as paid work and what experience would help you develop the
candidate profile. LinkedIn can prove to be a great resource for researching job
qualifications. Hobbies is another category that is often overlooked. For
example, you're a part-time soccer coach with a
local league you have the experience developing skills and others managing
team dynamics, assessing and placing talent to help develop team performance,
not to mention giving feedback and dealing with conflict or managing
difficult parents. It might even include managing a budget, event coordination and
scheduling the list goes on all of this to say look carefully at everything you
do and are involved in to uncover your experience, skills and natural talents to
develop your profile. You don't need to wait for a request of references for an
employer to learn from a third party, that you're something worth considering.
Securing recommendations from people who know your work speaks volumes, adds
credibility to what you have stated as your accomplishments and future
contributions. Now we will give you a chance to work on your profile, please
pause this presentation at this time and begin to create or work on your profile
This slide is a guide to help you know what to include. Please continue with
this presentation once you are ready.
