Hello everyone to Big Paw Gaming!
Citytopia is city building management game for iOS and Android
You, as a mayor, are task to construct city building by building
vehicle by vehicle,
and decoration by decoration,
to make it into a thrilling mega city.
You will be constructing between residential, industrial and commercial buildings
and then it will be your job to connect all the buildings together.
As a big fan of the city building games, I had big expectation for Citytopia
and the game mostly didn't dissapoint me.
The graphic is nice and artists paid attention to details.
The music is just okay (sorry can't play original sounds in the vid, had problem with recording)
but the gameplay is not fun.
You basically have to micromanage everything.
You need to tell which residential buildings work in which factory.
You have to tell the factory to produce specific goods
and you have to send it to a shop of your choice.
Then you also have to choose which house buys the goods back.
This is not a problem, but the problem is that once the goods are produced and sold
the whole loop repeats itself
and you will end up managing hundreds of buildings
till it simply overwhelm you.
I expect later levels have much longer production timers so it will not be so overwhelming
but come on, for a mobile game, if you cannot hook up user in the first few minutes
the user is gone most likely forever.
Additional thing that is a little controversial is that you do not have access to all buildings
unless you win it through game lottery.
So if you really want to construct something but you have a bad luck,
you will end up spending a lot of time waiting or a lot of money to get the building you need.
Overall, the game let me down a bit. If the loops were automated and not so overwhelming,
the game would be a solid 7.
Instead, I give it a 5/10.
