Waching daily Feb 3 2019

Jason Moser: Alright, Matt, we wanted to jump in here and answer an e-mail.

There's an e-mail that we received while we were away.

This e-mail came from Petey in Utah. Basically, he's asking us about Zelle.

This was the situation. "My wife was going to Vegas for a birthday party with her friend.

She owes money to the one that got it all set up. Her friend requested that she Venmo her the funds."

His immediate response was, "Hey, just use Zelle," because his wife wasn't using Venmo.

Long story short, she used Zelle to transfer the funds. No fees, easy to do.

You don't have to download another app. "Can you speak to how Zelle can affect the War on Cash basket?"

It was a good question. I think

it's something worth noting, anybody who has a bank account with Wells or Bank of America

or any of the big banks probably has access to Zelle.

I know I'm a Bank of America account holder and I have access to Zelle.

Now, with that said, I've never used it.

His question keys in on something that's worth noting -- my initial response to that is that

while Zelle is something out there, it's a nice value-add for people who have those accounts,

when you look at companies like PayPal and Square and the services they offer like Venmo

and Xoom and whatnot, those are services that are being built more for the younger users

in mind who are coming up into the banking world as they're growing up.

I look at my kids, for example, at 14 and 12.5 years old.

They're a little bit more of that Venmo target vs. something like Zelle is with a Bank of

America account. That's not to say that Zelle is not a threat.

I think Zelle absolutely is going to continue to hold its own.

But, it's a very big market opportunity, and I don't think Zelle is something that necessarily

threatens smaller companies like PayPal or Square. I do think it probably keeps them on their toes.

What do you think about it, Matt?

Matt Frankel: I think the one thing to keep in mind is just how many resources the people behind Zelle have.

If you're not familiar, Zelle is a project that was funded by a bunch of the big banks all together.

The banks that funded Zelle have something like, $4 trillion or $5 trillion in assets,

a ton of resources at their disposal.

I think Square is an extremely innovative company, same could be said for PayPal,

with Cash and Venmo.

Not that it's a threat to Square or Venmo, but it has to keep them on their toes.

You think Square is a big company? Square is tiny compared to these banks, same with PayPal.

So, it's a question of resources in my mind, when it comes to how much you have to worry

about a certain competitive threat. Square and Venmo were the first movers.

Venmo, especially, was the first mover there.

But I think they still should strive to innovate and one-up the banks and beat them at their

own game because the banks have a lot of resources they could throw at building competitive infrastructure

if they really wanted to. Moser: Yeah, you're right.

Banks do have a lot of resources there that they can do a lot of things with.

That always makes me go back to that idea that, just because a company has the resources

doesn't necessarily mean they can execute.

You have to be able to actually execute with the resources that you have.

I think Zelle is something that's here to stay.

We were actually reading through an article here earlier in regard to PayPal and MasterCard

executives who are talking about this space and seeing it as such a great time for collaboration

with all of these parties involved, big and small.

They have opportunities to bring new products and relationships

to market for banking customers of all ages.

It's interesting when you see the executives from companies like PayPal and MasterCard saying that.

Those are obviously two very big and important companies that are doing a lot on their own out there.

When you talk about the opportunity to collaborate and do more, they're certainly not

viewing this as a zero-sum game. They're not viewing this as win or lose.

This is something where it's a big enough market opportunity that there are a lot of

different ways these companies can all succeed. I think that's ultimately the way we look at it.

We've talked before, certainly, about the war on cash.

I could have probably thrown five more companies in that basket if I wanted, I just drew the line at four.

Anyways, a very good question from Petey in Utah. We enjoyed having the chance to talk about it a little bit.

Thanks, Petey from Utah for e-mailing us that question!

Donald Trump's orange tan is just down to 'good genes' says White House - Duration: 2:42.

President Trump's winter-defying tan is the result of 'good genes' according to the official White House position on the matter

It is being claimed that the President's bronze glow is not the result of spending hours on tanning beds or using tanning lotions or spray

Instead, a senior White House official told the New York Times that it's all down to 'Trump's good genes' and a little powder that the President applies prior to TV appearances

President Donald Trump's tan is the result of 'good genes' according to the White House (Picture: Getty images) The White House official was keen to stress however that the powder was translucent – and not a bronzer

Former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman had claimed in a book on her experience working under the Trump administration that the US President had favoured a tanning bed

Man does terrible job at faking 'slip and fall' at work But no evidence of such a bed exists in the White House, according to three unnamed witnesses who have spent time in the White House residence

Dr Alster suggested the president 'looks more orangy than he does tan' which is a 'tell-tale sign' of someone over-indulging in the fake stuff

She also claimed that another sign that could rule out dietary supplements or medicines that give skin an overall tan, is the sight of the often-present white circles under Trump's eyes when he goes before the public

She said that Trump's skin appears to show past sun damage, but went on to praise him for breaking any former tanning bed habits

Is Ford a Good Stock to Buy? - Duration: 1:55.

Chris Hill: Ford Motors sales in the fourth quarter were strong in North America.

Unfortunately for shareholders, Ford also sales vehicles in other parts of the world,

and that's not going very well these days, Ron.

Ron Gross: No. Is there any reason to get excited about owning a stock like Ford or GM?

I have a hard time coming up with one, unless you get into the value investing argument.

In this case, there's too much that you would need to bet on.

They've got to really turn this business around.

The restructuring is ongoing around the globe, China, Europe.

They're getting bigger on trucks and SUVs in the U.S.

There's an $11 billion restructuring overseas, it's going to take several years to complete that.

Who knows how successful it'll be? They're cutting $25 billion in costs by 2020.

There's a lot to come here. It's hard to say what's going to happen.

They declined to give profit guidance for 2019, but they tried to dance around and make

some comments, which left investors a little unpleased, unfulfilled.

This is one, I'd watch it and take some interest in it, but I would not want to own it.

Hill: I'm not saying he's necessarily on the hot seat, but Jim Hackett's been the CEO of

Ford Motor for about a year and a half. The stock's down 20% during that time.

It really seems like if that guy and his executive team have any rabbits that they can pull out

of their respective hats, this would be the year to do it.

Gross: Yeah, but it's tough to do that.

You take the reins of something that's kind of a mess, and you have to set up expectations,

where you say, "I'm going to come in here and do my best, but you have to give me several

years because I can't turn something like this on a dime."

Jason Moser: Any chance these guys go knocking back on Alan Mullaly's door at one point or another?

"Hey, are you interested in part two?" Gross: [laughs] You never know!

Is Kylie Jenner Pregnant & Having a Baby Again With Travis Scott? | Heavy.com - Duration: 5:32.

Is Kylie Jenner Pregnant & Having a Baby Again With Travis Scott? | Heavy.com

Today, Travis Scott takes the field as one of the performers alongside headlining band Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl.

And, the morning of the big game, Kylie Jenner, the mother of Scott's daughter, Stormi, made a very questionable post on Instagram.

Jenner posted a photo wearing an all-black outfit and covering her stomach with Scott cuddling across her lap.

With the photo, Jenner wrote the caption, "Baby #2?" Could she be referring to Scott as her big baby since he's laying across her lap? Is she pregnant? Is she trying to take some attention away from the controversy surrounding the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Or, is she just having some fun and messing with her 125 million followers? See the Instagram photo below and judge for yourself.

     .

It's definitely a possibility that Jenner was trying to distract people from all the backlash surrounding her baby daddy's big Super Bowl debut.

Upon accepting the gig, Maroon 5, Travis Scott and rapper Big Boi received some hate online.

Some artists declined to play the Super Bowl because of the NFL's relationship with former player Colin Kaepernick.

When Kaepernick started to take a knee during The National Anthem, in 2016, for the purpose of a silent protest against police brutality, others followed.

By 2017, Kaepernick didn't have a spot on any NFL team and is now in a legal battle against the NFL.

Because of this, many celebrities have chosen to not attend or participate in the Super Bowl.

When accepting the gig, Scott made sure to incorporate a large donation to a charity benefiting children, in collaboration with the NFL, Maroon 5, and others, for $500,000.

On Friday, February 1, 2019, Scott and Jenner celebrated their baby daughter Stormi's first birthday, according to Us Weekly.

Scott was performing at a pre-Super Bowl event and gave a shout out to his little one while on stage.

Jenner had taken Stormi on a little vacation, but, by the looks of her social media, the family is all together again, probably to support Scott in his Super Bowl performance.

For Stormi's birthday, Jenner took to Instagram to share a heartfelt birthday message to her little girl, writing, "How did I get so lucky to have such a sweet, smart, happy baby.

I just couldn't have dreamt you up, storm.

I wish you could stay this little forever and i could protect that contagious smile and laugh of yours.

I know you won't remember much about the first year of your life but I pray that you'll never forget to keep sharing your joy and laughter with the world.

My love grows for you a thousand miles a minute.

Every day with you is the best day of my life.

Happy Birthday to my angel on earth.".

     .

The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for being an ever-expanding group, with tons of kids, so it's definitely a possibility that Jenner is ready for another baby.

We're thinking that if she is pregnant, she's not just going to let the cat out of the bag just yet, considering she kept her first pregnancy a complete secret from the world the entire time.
