Why Iyanla Forgave Her Ex-Husband For Leaving Her for Another Woman | Iyanla: Fix My Life | OWN - Duration: 4:18.

- And I spent right here in Brooklyn, New York

40 years loving the same man.

I'm a slow learner.

[LAUGHTER]

In and out, in and out, in and out

of relationship with this one man,

trying to get from him what I didn't get from my daddy.

But I didn't know it at the time.

I thought it was love.

In denial.

[LAUGHTER]

So the last time, I married him.

[LAUGHTER]

We had been together about five or six

years when he divorced me.

He filed for divorce.

[LAUGHTER]

He left.

How are you going to leave me?

I'm [INAUDIBLE].

[LAUGHTER]

Something must be wrong with you, brother.

I've been on "Oprah."

[LAUGHTER]

You know.

But he left.

Not only did he leave, he left me for somebody I knew.

But he was going to do the same thing with a stranger,

so it really didn't make no difference, right?

He was going to do the same thing.

So he left me for somebody I knew,

and I was in high [INAUDIBLE].

High [INAUDIBLE].

I did not want to be spiritual at all.

I wanted to hate his ass, OK?

Sometimes, you just don't want to be spiritual.

You want somebody to burn in hell.

Don't leave me out here by myself, Brooklyn.

[LAUGHTER]

You know, that's the truth.

And that's why a lot of times, we won't forgive.

Because we want revenge.

I want your ass to pay for what you did to me.

Mhm.

And I was there.

But I knew that if I didn't forgive, my work with you

would be tainted.

So I had to.

I didn't want to, but I had to forgive him.

So I started out writing it.

Because I always say write it because you can put that energy

down and transform it by burning it, tearing it up, flushing it.

So I said, I forgive you.

I forgive you.

[LAUGHTER]

I said, let me write with some colored pencils

so it'll look pretty.

I forgive your ass.

[LAUGHTER]

I'm telling the truth, OK?

I'm trying to heal.

I forgive your dumb ass.

This is not going to work out well for me.

Let me not write-- let me say it in the mirror.

Because, you know, they say you say it in the mirror,

and you're speaking right into your soul.

You know, and you can feel it.

So I got in the mirror.

I forgive you.

I said, let me get naked.

[LAUGHTER]

Because right now, I'm trying to fix my hair and get my lashes--

let me get naked so I'll just be all ready.

I forgive you.

I forgive your mother for having you.

[LAUGHTER]

That was not working, either.

[LAUGHTER]

I forgive you.

No, I don't.

Yes, I do.

I forgive your daddy for impregnating your momma.

[LAUGHTER]

I said, OK, [INAUDIBLE].

You've got to get a little more willing.

You know, because willingness is the key.

Sometimes, we can't do stuff because we

just ain't willing to do it different,

to go the extra mile.

We're just not willing.

[APPLAUSE]

I'll never forget the day God told me, get out of Brooklyn.

Get out of Brooklyn.

I've been here all my life.

My family was here.

Everything I know was here.

Get out.

Because you're never going to rise

above where you are until you rise above who you are.

News24 - Manchester United have made approach to Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho - Duration: 3:49.

Jadon Sancho's decision to leave Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in August 2017 has paid dividends for the English starlet

The 18-year-old has become a household name in Europe thanks to his eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists in 28 matches this season, while he's also made three appearances for England

Would Sancho have played as many senior games had he stayed with City? Would his reputation be as high as it currently is without that move to the Westfalenstadion? Would he have even made his international debut? In truth, it's unlikely

Compare Sancho's meteoric rise to superstardom to Phil Foden's current situation, an immensely gifted 18-year-old midfielder who is yet to make his senior England debut because he doesn't play enough for Man City

Foden wears the number 47 shirt for City and makes the odd cameo in league matches here and there

Sancho wears the number seven shirt for Dortmund and is one of the first names on the teamsheet every week

Sancho admitted in his post-match interview with BT Sport after Dortmund's 3-0 defeat against Tottenham earlier this week that he loved the feeling of playing football back in England, in front of his friends at family at Wembley

And Manchester United will give him the opportunity to return to the Premier League permanently this summer, according to an exclusive report from The Sun's Neil Custis, who understands the Red Devils have made a 'shock approach' for the teenager

The report adds United have been quoted £70 million to sign the winger, who spent almost two-and-a-half years in Man City's youth academy prior to his £8 million move to Dortmund

Due to a clause in his contract, 15 per cent of any transfer fee would go directly to City

But you suspect that wouldn't bother United if they secure the services of a player Rio Ferdinand believes will become the best English footballer in the near future

"No goals but I've seen Jadon Sancho – I'm just happy to be watching. I've been up screaming and dancing," Ferdinand said after the youngster's impressive first-half display against Spurs

"An 18-year-old scaring the life out of seasoned Premier League players. I love it

I think he'll be the best English player in the coming years.  "Every time he gets the ball he has the respect of defenders before it's been kicked

The defender knows he's going past him it's just a matter of how.  "It's unbelievable to see

He doesn't stand still, he moves again."  Check out his impressive highlights from that match here…  Ferdinand, a passionate Man Utd fan, could very well be screaming and dancing for Sancho at Old Trafford next season - along with the rest of the club's supporters

The Alliance of American Football continues to roll along and draw quite a bit of interest in the process.

While the Iron have some big names, we're going to take a look at the roster, offensive depth chart and their schedule for the remainder of the season.

The AAF runs over 10 weeks and then has two semifinal games in the postseason along with a championship game on April 27 in Las Vegas.

RAF Reaper drone crews will get medals for bombing ISI - Duration: 7:32.

Reaper drone crews blasting ISIS jihadis in Syria and Iraq will receive a campaign medal despite controlling their unmanned aircraft from Lincolnshire and Nevada

Traditionally, campaign medals were awarded to air crew depending on the level of personal risk they faced

However, the drone crews, who have logged more than 100,000 hours between them, fly their high-tech aircraft from specialist cockpits in RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire and Creech Airforce Base in Nevada

The drones operated as part of Operation Shader.Officer Commanding of 13 Squadron Wing Commander Mark Jackson, 44, said his crews were being 'justly rewarded for their efforts'

Wing Commander Jackson said: 'The majority of our crews - they don't want additional pay necessarily - what they want is recognition, and that's in terms of national recognition

'Some of that comes from exposure, but a lot of it comes from being seen to have delivered on a given operation, and the most visual account of that is someone who wears a medal

'For many years a Reaper operator - a pilot, sensor operator or mission intelligence coordinator - they would wear their number one uniforms very much with pride, but with a bare chest because they don't have any medals to show for the operations they were on

'Despite delivering on operations every single day of the year, for many, many years, they don't have that ribbon and piece of metal to show for it

'It is a huge thing to happen, and I extremely pleased.' The personnel to be awarded the Op Shader medal without clasp include RAF Reaper crews, based at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire, and Creech Air Force Base in Nevada, US

Ground crew at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus where UK airstrikes against IS were launched from, plus Army and Navy personnel who provided logistic and communications support, will also receive them

Traditionally medals are awarded based on the level of risk faced by the individual, with this considered or defined as being exposed to physical danger

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson last year confirmed the medal eligibility criteria had been extended to include personnel outside the traditional operational area

The Reaper crews often operate the drones from specialist cockpits that are thousands of miles from where they are being flown or used

During the campaign to destroy the extremists in Iraq and Syria, which the UK joined in 2014, the drones have been used to carry out strikes, gather intelligence and conduct surveillance

This often involves weeks of monitoring individuals, following their every move, and then once a strike has been executed, another vast amount of time is spent ensuring they were successful

Wg Cdr Jackson said with the level of surveillance involved, 'you can't help but have some form of a relationship, mentally, with those you are looking at and observing'

'But the key point is that everything we are doing is about protecting UK citizens and UK lives,' he added

'Whether that is because of surveillance, and therefore providing necessary intelligence to certain services, you know that every single hour you are airborne is an hour that is spent protecting the UK and UK citizens

' He stressed that in situations where weapons or bombs are used against targets, there is a 'rigorous system' in place to ensure crews do not struggle with the emotional toll

Quizzed on what the hardest part of being a Reaper pilot is, he revealed the most difficult thing for them during their eight-hour shifts is to maintain focus, which he said can be 'quite exhausting'

But as a former Tornado pilot, Wg Cdr Jackson said he is 'quite astonished' at the similarities between flying a jet and an unmanned aerial vehicle, adding that the feeling inside the cockpit is very much the same

'When you turn the lights down and are focused on the heads-up display in front of me

and the other peripherals providing me with information, it really doesn't feel any different at all,' he added

In 2014 Isis blitzed across vast swathes of Syria - seizing Raqqa - before spreading into north and western Iraq, capturing Mosul and even advancing to the edges of Baghdad

Since then, the US-led global coalition has worked to destroy the extremists. The UK has carried out airstrikes on IS targets and trained thousands of Iraqi and Kurdish personnel in skills such as counter-IED, infantry skills and medical techniques

The group is currently battling to keep hold of its last patch of territory in eastern Syria, with Reaper drones still supporting Syrian Democratic Forces on the ground

It is expected the next wave of Operation Shader medal presentations will take place in July this year

California town trials universal income program giving 130 residents $500 for next year - Duration: 5:08.

Could universal basic income be the solution to crime, poverty and bankrupt cities? That's what one California town is trying to find out

Starting this month, 130 residents of Stockton, California, will receive a debit card loaded with $500 for the next 18 months that they're free to use at their own discretion

The program, overseen by the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED), started on Friday

'The need has only been reiterated.Folks are ready to use this money to pay bills, to save for the future, to pay off debt and pay for medicine,' SEED director Sukhi Samra said to the Sacramento Bee

SEED will dole out the funds and study and analyze how the income boost affects residents' spending and saving, financial stability, and overall quality of life

The initiative seeks to target poorer communities and see if giving a universal basic income, regardless of income level or employment status, can create a better, happier society

For low-skilled workers, the money can make a big impact in keeping up with inflation and evening out the scales of wealth inequality

Wealth inequality has become all the more stark in California following the tech boom

The program is funding the project using a $1million grant from the Economic Security Project and another $2million from a foundations and individual donors

Stockton is a strategic place to start as it's been dubbed 'America's foreclosure capital' and was the largest city to seek bankruptcy before Detroit filed in 2013

During the 2008 recession Stockton was plagued with unemployment and violent crime

Today isn't much better as one in four residents live below the poverty line there, according to the U

S.Census Bureau. All the residents involved in the program have a median income at or below $46,033

'I think (the program) will make people work better and smarter and harder,' Mayor Michael Tubbs said in an interview with NPR last year

'We're not just designed just to work all day and run a rat race. We're designed to be in community, to volunteer, to vote, to raise our kids

And I think the more inputs and investments we can give in people to do those things, the better off we are as a community,' he added

Similar universal wealth projects have taken place in Finland and Canada. After the trials finished they were notably not continued

In California U.S.Senator Kamala Harris proposed a bill last year that would provide middle class and working families a tax credit of up to $6,000 a year that would come in the form of $500 monthly checks

'SEED has already contributed to that conversation and re-conceptualizing what dignity is and not tying to work around deservedness and the poor and the working poor,' SEED director Samra said

The Stockton program hopes to shares stories of progress among residents by March and the initiative will run through August 2020

Liverpool News - Arsenal set to rival Liverpool for £75m defender - Duration: 2:03.

Arsenal are set to enter the race for top prospect Matthijs De Ligt in the summer

The 19-year-old Ajax centre-back is reportedly wanted by Manchester City , Liverpool , Barcelona and Juventus

According to The Sun, the Gunners are now set to enter the race for a £75m-rated talent - but they'll need two things to happen to make the switch happen

The north London club will need to qualify for the Champions League and offload big earner Mesut Ozil in order to enable them to meet Ajax's valuation

The teenager is already captain of the Amsterdam club and has won 13 caps for the Netherlands, making him a man in demand

Whilst Premier League clubs are determined to land De Ligt, it appears clubs elsewhere may be in the best position to land the youngster

Barcelona will welcome his team-mate Frenkie De Jong in the summer, which could give them an advantage

Reports in Italy from Tuttosport, meanwhile, claim Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici travelled to Amsterdam last week in an attempt to lure De Ligt to Turin

Arsenal could have an edge if they land Marc Overmars as director of football, as he has worked closely with De Ligt, as has Gunners legend Denis Bergkamp at Ajax

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is understood to have targeted the Serbian international as a summer replacement for Olivier Giroud, 32

And German news outlet Bild claim that Blues officials have approached Jovic's Portuguese parent club with an offer of around £40m

Speaking recently, Jovic said: "I feel honoured that big clubs are showing interest in me

"But at the moment I am happy to be with Frankfurt, and I feel good with them

"For the time being I will just focus on Eintracht. They are my top priority."  The German side have the option to sign the Serb on a permanent deal

England have set the hares running for World Cup squad selection with just five games to go in the Windies before the final 15 is picked

Just like Curran at the Sydney Sixers, Archer has been lighting up the Big Bash in Australia and qualifies for England selection at the end of next month

But with 11 ODIs including England's last three under his belt, Curran is in the ideal position to make sure a World Cup spot is his come April

Iraqi refugee who spent three years in jail for encouraging cousin to rape woman WINS appeal - Duration: 2:52.

An Iraqi refugee who spent nearly three years behind bars for encouraging his cousin to rape a woman has won an appeal to have his visa cancellation overturned

The 25-year-old, who arrived in Australia in 2008, had been detained in the Villawood Detention Centre, New South Wales, since December 2016 when he was released from prison

He had been jailed for watching his cousin sexually assault a woman he had brought to a motel room

The 25-year-old's case was read before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal on Saturday afternoon, the Daily Telegraph reported

They heard that the man and his cousin had gone to a motel where he and a woman had consensual sex

But later in the same evening, the cousin 'physically forced himself' on the victim and raped her

The man had advised his cousin not to wear a condom, saying it 'feels better without one', while also laughing as the woman cried for help

The court heard he told her: 'Don't worry, you'll like it.' At the time of sentencing in 2016, the court deemed the man's cousin as the primary offender, though also considered the man as being in a situation where he could have controlled or dissuaded his cousin

He was jailed and subsequently detained in the Detention Centre, with the Tribunal noting he had shown remorse for his actions and 'limited empathy' for the victim

The Tribunal decided the man was at a 'limited risk of offending'.Senior member Milton Griffin, QC, said the 'correct' decision would be to reinstate the man's visa, saying he posed no threat to the Australian community

'The primary consideration of the protection of the Australian community ultimately weighs in the Applicant's favour,' he said

For Some 2020 Democrats, Rejection of Amazon Aligns With Liberal Policy Views The New York Times - Duration: 5:37.

For Some 2020 Democrats, Rejection of Amazon Aligns With Liberal Policy Views The New York Times

By and

The decision by Amazon this week to abandon its planned headquarters in New York City tapped into one of the major themes of left wing Democrats: that giant corporations — and in some cases the billionaires who run them — must be held to account for wage inequality, corporate greed and middle class stagnation.

And some contenders and would be contenders for the partys 2020 presidential nomination were quick to take a victory lap over the retailers sudden reversal.

The economic incentives offered the company amounted to no more than taxpayer bribes, said Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who accused Amazon of holding American democracy hostage.

. – one of the wealthiest companies on the planet – just walked away from billions in taxpayer bribes, all because some elected officials in New York arent sucking up to them enough. How long will we allow giant corporations to hold our democracy hostage?

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, to tax companies that he says underpay employees, congratulated New Yorkers for standing up to the power of Amazon.

Their blunt condemnation of Amazon underscores the extent to which this has become an animating issue for the far left. And their reaction is one act in a broader set of 2020 issues for progressive Democrats that includes the Green New Deal, which proposes far reaching federal intervention in the economy to tackle climate change, and the determination to rein in leviathan tech companies, whose founders have lost their luster as heroes of a new economy.

Candidates and potential candidates perceived as more centrist did not immediately weigh in, reflecting one of the fault lines in a Democratic Party wrestling over who is the best standard bearer to suit up for a coming titanic struggle with President Trump. Some candidates, like Senators Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kamala Harris of California, have deeper connections to tech companies.

The views of centrists may have been channeled by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York, for putting their own narrow political interests above their community.

[Check out the Democratic field .]

The on Thursday meant the companys promise of 25,000 jobs in New York City would be unfulfilled over opposition to the city and states offer of dollar 3 billion in tax incentives, which highlighted the practice of luring businesses to states and cities with promises of big tax breaks.

There are large questions philosophically about whether taxpayers should give billions of dollars to billionaires, said Gordon Hintz, the Democratic minority leader of the Wisconsin State Assembly, who is a critic of a state deal in 2017 to with dollar 4 billion in taxpayer subsidies.

Theres frustration in the public right now where wealth is being concentrated, the opportunities for economic mobility are lower, and they see the people who receive these deals seemingly unconcerned with their reality, he added.

Wisconsin, a battleground state that Mr. Trump narrowly won in 2016 as part of his appeal to white blue collar voters, is certain to be a crossroads of national Democratic contenders ahead of 2020, as they try to win back some of those voters and excite others who stayed home. That Mr. Trump played a role in the Foxconn deal — and jumped in again recently when the Taiwan based company wavered — is a ready made target for Democrats inclined to criticize corporate giveaways.

Mr. Hintz said the issue played a role in of Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican.

Even as New York sent Amazon packing, other cities and regions renewed their courtship of the company. On Thursday, Newark officials sent a courier in red to deliver a giant heart shaped card to the company bearing the Valentines Day message that the city and New Jersey still love u, Amazon!

Mr. Booker, who is seeking the Democratic nomination, has made no comment on the deal. A Democratic county chairman in Iowa, Kurt Meyer, who put Mr. Booker up overnight on a recent swing through the state, predicted that criticisms of large corporations would feature in appeals to the party base there, which is more progressive than in many states. Iowas dollar 208 million in incentives for an Apple data center near Des Moines with just 50 jobs was debated in last years midterm elections.

I suspect the issue will be exploited extensively in Iowa, due in part to our vague but distinct sense of economic insecurity, which, while unrelated to Amazon and Apple, is pretty dry tinder, Mr. Meyer said.

At a CNN town hall in Iowa last month, Ms. Harris was asked if the existence of multibillionaires was morally defensible. She replied that was unconscionable for giving breaks to corporations and those in the top 1 percent but excluding working families.

Amazons decision to cancel its deal with New York also comes at a time when prominent Democratic lawmakers in Washington are crafting legislation and advocating policies that could constrain or even break up large technology companies.

In the past two years, big scandals in the technology sector have made privacy and the security of social media networks hotly debated issues. Russian entities used Facebooks network to try and influence the 2016 presidential election. The revealed that Facebook users data had been misused.

Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat and candidate for president, is sponsoring a bill about who is paying for online political advertising. Ms. Warren supports antitrust policies. Mr. Sanderss Stop BEZOS Act, named for the chief executive of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, would tax corporations whose low wage workers find it necessary to rely on food stamps and government health care benefits.

The push to step up regulation may have support among the public. In a Pew Research , 55 percent of the respondents said technology companies had too much power and influence, compared with 37 percent who said the firms had the right amount.

But not every party official believes in shaming corporate chieftains and corporations.

In northeast Ohio, Representative Tim Ryan, a Democrat with the shutdown of a plant making the Chevrolet Cruze, on Friday imploring Amazon to build a second headquarters there.

Mr. Ryan, in an interview, predicted that everyone at the basketball game he planned to attend Friday night at Howland High School, where his daughter is a cheerleader, would be talking about how to lure Amazon and its jobs to the area.

Ohio is a swing state that Democrats, including Senator Sherrod Brown, who is weighing a presidential bid, would like to win back in 2020.

It doesnt serve us well to be hostile to business in general, Mr. Ryan said. We need them. We cant reverse climate change. We cant rebuild manufacturing. We cant retool work force development without a partnership with the free enterprise system.
