What is: T-Express - Everland Resort - Duration: 4:38.

T-Express is a wooden roller coaster, located at the Everland Resort, in South Korea.

Interestingly, the ride opened to the public as South Korea's first wooden roller coaster,

and currently remains the only one of its kind even to this day.

On top of this, T-Express is the rare Intamin prefabricated coaster model, one of only four

built worldwide.

The ride opened to the public on the 14th of March 2008 at the cost of roughly 36 billion

won, equivalent to 32 Million USD in today's money.

Its name originates from the sponsor of the attraction, T World, South Korea's largest

wireless telecommunications operator.

Upon first impressions, T-Express looks menacing in every way.

The ride's huge scale and high speed are partially possible due to the complex nature

of the track design.

Interestingly, the attractions manufacturer, Intamin, produces pre-cut wooden track sections

using precise laser equipment offsite, allowing for them to be put together on location in

a short amount of time.

The accurate nature of the tracks design allows for a smoother and more stable experience.

A ride on T-Express begins with guests boarding one of three vehicles, each of which are made

up of six cars, seating riders in 3 rows of 2.

This leads to a total of 36 visitors per train.

Once boarded, guests are dispatched out of the station building, undergoing a small left

hand turn, and a straight piece of track, before joining the lift hill.

The trains climb the huge 56m (184ft) high lift-hill, ascending the nearby hillside.

Interestingly, similar to other rides produced by the same company, T-Express utilises a

cable lift, allowing for guests to climb to the attractions highest point at a faster

rate.

Once the trains have crested the hill, they navigate a 180 degree right hand turn towards

the attractions huge 46m (151ft) tall drop.

Guests dive down the first decent, at a maximum vertical angle of 77 degrees, and quickly

reach the top speed of 104km/h (65mph).

Before they have time to breathe, visitors are instantly subject to a huge airtime hill,

followed by an intense long right hand turn.

The trains traverse a quick transition into a long left hand turn, followed by a small

hill into the attractions mid-course brake run.

A few seconds later guests once again plummet towards the ground, before navigating an airtime

hill, followed by a heavily banked right hand turn.

Guests enter another airtime hill, followed by a second right hand turn, into a series

of two further airtime hills.

At this point the layout is somewhat repetitive.

The trains navigate a mixture of near 180 degree turns, and airtime hills, looping around

the attractions footprint.

Each repetition sees guests come closer to the ground, retaining their high speed.

Riders finally emerge from the structure navigating two airtime hills, a slight turn, a further

airtime hill, and a long left hand turn into the attractions final brake run.

Throughout the entire thrilling ride, guests navigate 1651m (5417ft) of track in approximately

94 seconds of ride time.

This is calculated from the moment the train leaves the lift hill, to when it enters the

incredibly long final brake run.

Because each train has a large capacity, the ride has a theoretical throughput of approximately

1500 riders per hour.

Interestingly, the 2nd half of attraction's layout is surprisingly similar, if not identical

to another coaster of the same model, Balder at Liseberg in Sweden.

After T-Express completes the mid-course brake run, both rides feature a repetitive layout

reliant on a mixture of airtime hills and highly banked turns.

This has allowed the attraction to be the longest of its kind by a significant margin.

Because of the rides impressive size, T-Express has been well received.

Everland Resort saw a significant increase of visitors within the young adult and teenage

markets, quantifying the success of the ride.

Furthermore, it has performed very well in many respectable wooden roller coaster polls,

often being ranked as one of the top 5 wooden coasters worldwide.

Despite their good reputations, Intamin's prefabricated coaster model hasn't seen

any new additions since the debut of T-Express in 2008.

This leads to the question; would you like to see more parks invest in large scale Intamin

wooden coasters in the future?

What's your opinion?

This Project Runway Finalist Is Making Muslim Fashion Mainstream | AJ+ - Duration: 4:31.

Getting to the end of Project Runway,

they start to eliminate people.

[Clip]: "Auf Wiedersehen."

Margarita got eliminated, so it's three left:

Kentaro, Me, and Brandon.

Brandon is like the sweetheart, the whole season.

And so, Brandon gets eliminated.

Holy crap... Are they gonna give it to me?

I grew up in a very small, tight knit

Muslim community in upstate New York.

I'm number eight of eleven children.

We were poor, so all of my clothing was hand-me-downs

from my older sisters, so I would put my own spin on things.

Cut hem lines, add ruffles, or what have you.

I actually sold my first garment when I was ten years old.

I was definitely a little kid fashion designer.

And being a quiet child, I just found that to be a way

that I could scream really, really loudly.

I guess I was like, Muslim, and so I had to get married.

I was 19 when I met him, 20 when I married him,

he had just gotten a new job, and I ended up leaving school

and I moved to Tennessee.

I was scared, I was sad, and I was not fulfilled

because I wasn't doing something that I loved.

I had a gift and, you know, I wasn't in the driver's seat

of my life and it was really tough when I...

I know it's just sewing, but honestly, it's the one thing

that I do that know what the outcome will be.

I'm sorry!

(Ayana cries)

I didn't plan to cry, sorry!

And so, my husband and I weren't on the same page

and we eventually got divorced.

I was supposed to be studying anatomy and physiology,

but I was actually watching YouTube videos, and I came

across a designer named Rabia Z and her work was so good.

I decided, actually at that moment, that I was gonna get

in the driver's seat, pursue my design degree,

and I was gonna take control.

Project Runway was the biggest

emotional roller coaster of my life.

One second, you're super excited,

and the next second, you're so scared.

Like, I need Tim Gunn to love me, that's very important.

These are the people that you want to critique you,

because what they say goes, in the fashion world.

When Project Runway shared our pictures of the cast,

one comment was like, "Oh, if she puts that symbol"

"of male oppression on the girls, then I'm not watching!"

"This is not Project Runway International,"

"what is going on?"

I thought to myself, like, "that's what they're saying now,

but when they see how well I've kicked butt on the season,

it's going to shut them all up", and it did.

The very first challenge, I wanted it to be very, very

apparent who was in the building.

And just seeing her, you know, walking down the runway,

she's wearing her hijab, it's trailing behind her,

she's got that Project Runway sign behind her,

moments like these are so meaningful.

[Clip]: "Ayana you are the winner of this challenge!"

I learned so much during that time,

you know, to step out and to just be free.

Making some really outlandish things,

to follow a certain guideline of dress,

but at the same time, be fashion forward,

and be trendy and feel young and feel beautiful.

The judges loved it.

I had, you know, older women, young women, coming up

to me and saying, you know, "Thank you, we love this!",

or "Just please keep pushing forward, we really need this!"

I was just doing me, I was having a great time,

and it just so happened that I was a Muslim girl.

[Clip]: (cheering)

Fast forward to New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week!

Tim Gunn and me, watching my work on the screen.

My models are all dressed, they look really great,

and the finale hijab was so great, it was amazing.

And I was like, bawling.

[Tim Gunn]: "It's spectacular."

After coming from not having much of anything

growing up, you just never know how far you can go.

You can build, and, like, you can make more.

I didn't win, but with being on this show,

I was able to get my name out there, so to speak.

My plan, eventually, is to be a household name.

It's scary, but I like a challenge.

Karl Marx's Highgate cemetery memorial stone is vandalised for second time this month - Duration: 3:43.

Graffiti-daubing vandals have targeted the memorial of Karl Marx in as many weeks

'Doctrine of Hate' and 'Architect of Genocide' were sprayed in red letters on the grave of the German philosopher - the most famous resident of Highgate Cemetery in north London

Only two weeks ago a hammer attack was launched on the monument, leading to fears from the charity which runs the cemetery the tribute to the Father of Communism 'will never be the same again'

Then the marble plaque had been chipped by a blunt instrument in what looked like 'a deliberate attack on the memory of Karl Marx himself,' according to the Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust

Maxwell Blowfield said he was 'quite shocked' to see the vandalism when he visited the cemetery on Saturday morning with his mother

Mr Blowfield, 31, who works as a press officer with the British Museum, said it was particularly sad as tourists regularly visit the site

'It's a highlight of the cemetery,' he said.'It's a shame. The red paint will disappear, I assume, but to see that kind of level of damage and to see it happen twice, it's not good

'I wouldn't like to say who or why someone did it but it was clearly someone very critical of Marx and that part of history

I am just surprised that somebody in 2019 feels they need to and do something like that

' Following the hammer attack on the memorial on February 4, Ian Dungavell, the trust's chief executive, said the vandal attack on the Grade I-listed monument, which puts it on a par with the most important buildings in the country, was 'very upsetting'

Originally, the plaque was first used on the grave of Marx's wife, Jenny von Westphalen, in 1881

But it was moved when the remains of Marx and his wife were exhumed and reinterred in a more prominent place in the cemetery in 1954

The monument is owned by the Marx Grave Trust, which is represented by the Marx Memorial Library in Clerkenwell

A report of criminal damage was lodged with the Metropolitan Police at around 10.50am on Saturday

A spokesman said: 'There have been no arrests. We would appeal to anyone who has any information to contact us

Why Reds legend is 'apprehensive' about Bayern and Man Utd - Duration: 2:45.

Kop legend Robbie Fowler is concerned Liverpool's recent inactivity could threaten their hopes of both Champions League and Premier League glory

An early exit from the FA Cup means Jurgen Klopp's side will have gone 10 days without a game when they entertain Bayern Munich in their Champions League round of 16 first leg tie on Tuesday

The Reds boss took his players away for a warm-weather training camp last week in preparation for the match as well as the forthcoming top-flight visit to Manchester United next Sunday

Fowler, though, is concerned Liverpool could lose momentum similar to when they returned from a mini-break in Dubai last month, after which they dropped points against Leicester City and West Ham United

"Look, I must admit with all the injuries they had, they'll have been able to use the time off to get some players back fit and get their training organised, and work on things," said Fowler

"But I hated not being involved in games when I was a player. I'd much rather win and take the energy and rhythm from that, just as Manchester City have done in recent weeks

This Custom Chevy Caprice Pickup Is Part Station Wagon, Corvette And Camaro - Duration: 2:12.

Custom cars are as unique as their owners and it appears someone was suffering from an identity crisis

That's about the only explanation we can come up with for this one-off Chevrolet Caprice which is part station wagon, pickup, Corvette and Camaro

Even the seller's description alludes to this as it says "First impressions get people wondering, second impressions keep them wondering

" Billed as a custom hot rod pickup, the model is based on a Caprice station wagon and features a Viper-esque front end complete with a clamshell hood

Moving further back, there's flowing bodywork and a custom pickup bed with a hard cover

It lifts up to reveal a surprisingly small amount of storage space. While the exterior styling is pretty unique, the cabin largely carries over from the Caprice

While it looks pretty dated, drivers will find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood grain trim and two-tone leather seats with SS badging

The truck also has air conditioning and power windows.Power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine that was sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro

There's no word on specifications, but the listing says the engine has a cold air intake and is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission

Other notable features include a solid rear axle, a control arm and trailing arm suspension as well as ventilated disc brakes

The one-off truck is listed on eBay and the seller is asking for $24,995 (£19,531 / €22,120)

That seems a little steep, but whoever buys it will certainly standout from the crowd

The Army's diversity poster girl is 'racially abused' by six white soldiers - Duration: 7:20.

Six soldiers have been disciplined after racially abusing a black female soldier who has been the face of British Army Equality and Diversity campaigns

The Royal Artillery troops have been given formal warnings after posting offensive remarks about Corporal Kerry-Ann Morris on social media

In a Facebook discussion over recent weeks, the six soldiers from 159 (Colenso) Battery accused the 28-year-old of using her skin colour to secure promotions and of branding white colleagues as racists in a bid to sabotage their careers

The troops faced being kicked out of the Army but were only reprimanded after Cpl Morris intervened on their behalf and persuaded senior officers to soften their approach

Cpl Morris, from Nottingham, recently appeared in the controversial 'Your Army Needs You' recruitment campaign, which launched last month

Her face was seen on posters next to the slogan 'Me, Me, Me Millennials, Your Army Needs You and Your Self-Belief'

The message of the £1.5million campaign was that character traits seen as flaws in young people could be turned into strengths by the Army

The campaign generated a huge response and, when Cpl Morris's picture was circulated online, a group of British soldiers based in Gutersloh, Germany, posted a series of racist and offensive remarks about her on Facebook

The junior-ranking troops accused Cpl Morris, who is of Jamaican descent, of 'playing the race card' at work and of accusing others of being prejudiced against her because she is black

The Facebook posts received multiple 'likes' and were shared among other soldiers

Cpl Morris, who is a leading promoter of BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) causes in the Armed Forces, is said to have found them deeply upsetting

She brought the post to the attention of the Army's BAME Network – a support group for ethnic minority troops set up in 2017

An Army investigation then concluded that the messages were racially abusive.Soldiers who wrote and 'liked' the comments were interviewed by senior officers, as a defence source confirmed last night

The source said: 'Cpl Morris is a high achiever and it appears some of her colleagues are looking for excuses as to why they're not doing as well as her

They know they will be in very serious trouble if they ever repeat such offensive accusations which breached the Army's values and standards policy

'It was to Cpl Morris's credit that she requested the soldiers should be dealt with lightly on this occasion

As the victim she could have pressed for more severe sanctions to be imposed but she was adamant that should not happen

' Cpl Morris left her home aged 16 to live in a women's refuge. She joined the Army in 2011 and has been promoted twice, often receiving top grades in her military exams

She has represented the Army and the Combined Services at athletics and has appeared on the cover of the Army lifestyle magazine The Locker

She recently transferred from the Royal Artillery to the Adjutant General's Corps but it was unclear last night whether the move was connected to the offensive comments

The Armed Forces continues to face accusations that it is 'too white' as only 8.7per cent of junior ranks and just 2

4per cent of officers come from BAME backgrounds. The Ministry of Defence has set a target of ten per cent of personnel being from BAME communities by 2020

Last month, The Mail on Sunday revealed how another of the soldiers from the Your Army Needs You recruitment campaign had decided to quit the ranks after his picture was used beneath the word 'Snowflake' without his permission

Guardsman Stephen McWhirter, 28, first learned his face was on the poster after his friends bombarded him with mocking messages

He then told colleagues he intended to sign off. However, the controversial campaign has led to applications to join the Army rising to a record 9,700 requests in less than three weeks in January – almost double the figure for the same period of 2018

An MOD spokesman said: 'Discrimination and bullying have no place in the Armed Forces and will not be tolerated

All allegations are taken very seriously and are thoroughly investigated.Anyone found to have fallen short of our high standards can expect disciplinary action to be taken

Serial rapist's 'icy cold' corpse is found in his prison cell - Duration: 3:16.

Aserial rapist who ignored medical advice to cut down his intake of sugary drinks and who missed two diet appointments has died following a heart attack

David Stenning's 'icy cold' body was found in his cell by staff at HM Prison Frankland in Durham shorty after lunchtime

The 61-year-old prisoner, who weighed 20 stones at the time of his death, was given a life sentence in 1994 for a string of serious sex attacks

An investigation following Stenning's death in February 26 last year revealed that the serial rapist had missed two diet appointments with medical staff and had been consuming numerous sugary drinks every week

The watchdog report found that the prisoner, who had a BMI of more than 42, had undergone multiple health tests prior to his death at the prison and had been suffering from chronic leg ulcers and high levels of cholesterol

However in spite of advice issued by medical staff, Stenning skipped his appointments

A Prisons and Probation Ombudsman report read: 'A prisoner who was Mr Stenning's prison buddy said that Mr Stenning had four bottles of fizzy pop and six bottles of diluted juice drink each week

'Despite attempts by healthcare staff to improve his diet, Mr Stenning bought numerous sugary drinks every week

' Two hours after Stenning returned to his prison cell, the alarm was raised by the prisoner's cell mate

The prisoner was promptly seen to by a nurse who was unable to find a pulse or a heartbeat

Paramedics eventually confirmed that the prisoner had died.'Mr Stenning was icy cold and appeared to have been dead for some time,' the watchdog report continued

The report also found that CPR had not been attempted on the serial rapist after it was feared that it would be 'disrespectful'

Opinion Is Nancy Pelosi a Climate Skeptic? The New York Times - Duration: 2:31.

Opinion Is Nancy Pelosi a Climate Skeptic? The New York Times

Its time to reckon with the internal contradictions of climate policy.

Opinion Columnist

Is Nancy Pelosi a climate skeptic? Of course not — . But you might be excused for thinking so, given the curt wave off the House speaker delivered to the liberally ballyhooed, legislatively stillborn

The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but theyre for it, right? That was Pelosi talking about the deal as if it were a grandchilds latest video game obsession. The San Francisco Democrat is nothing if not a political realist, and that kind of realism means that no Congress is going to mobilize the country to fight climate change as if it were an alien invasion, as my colleague Farhad Manjoo .

Higher mileage standards, more subsidies for wind and solar, signing the Paris climate deal? Those are the sorts of policies Nancy Pelosi believes in, and would happily endorse if stars align under a future Democratic president.

But obtaining 100 percent of Americas power needs through renewable energy, upgrading all existing buildings in the United States to meet maximal efficiency standards, and dealing with the issue of cow flatulence by reducing meat consumption, as the Green New Deal proposes? Fuhgeddaboudit.

Then again, if climate change is a potentially humanity wrecking event, why shouldnt we treat it as an alien invasion equivalent? Lets assume and we dont have a moment to lose in substantially decarbonizing the global economy, no matter what the financial cost or political pain. In that case, isnt Pelosis incrementalist approach to climate absurdly inadequate?

Isnt it, in fact, like trying to put out a forest fire with a plant mister?

Marxists of old liked to talk about the fundamental contradictions of capitalism. Today we should also reckon with the contradictions of climate policy. Are we dealing with a problem so severe that it requires the of war socialism? Or should we think of climate change roughly the same way we think about global poverty — a serious problem we can work patiently to solve without resort to extreme measures like or depriving of the attention they deserve?

If its the former, then another windmill subsidy or carbon trading scheme wont do. We need to take extreme measures: to declare a , every citizens carbon footprint, raise taxes on the rich and middle class alike to fund trillions of dollars in green infrastructure projects worldwide, and even impose economic sanctions on China and India if they dont stop .

If the latter, however, then can we at least end the apocalyptic talk, especially since we arent prepared to take more than piecemeal steps?

So far, activists have been able to elide this contradiction, claiming both that climate change is a , and that we can deal with it relatively easily. That may do wonders for public awareness — do your part and bike to work! — but it is self deceiving, if not dishonest. Whatever else might be said of it, the Green New Deal blows the lid off that delusion. Its a remarkably honest attempt to offer a massive answer to what its authors see as an epochal problem.

Yet its virtue is also its undoing. The Green New Dealers may want to spend trillions on a climate moonshot and trillions more on their other policy hobbyhorses . Most people dont even want to spend pennies, at least if its their own money. , voters in Washington rejected a carbon fee by a margin of 12 percentage points. Thats a blue state. Endorsements of the Green New Deal may have rolled in from Democratic presidential hopefuls, but the chances of them enacting any of it if they take office are about as great as Scott Pruitt being elected to the board of the Sierra Club. Even Barack Obama didnt endorse a gas tax when he had a chance to do so in 2009.

All of this means that climate activists should get wise to a central fact: If Pelosi is skeptical of their policies, where do they imagine the rest the country is? Those who believe climate change will become irreversible, uncontrollable and catastrophic in a few years should get to work on their fallout shelters. The E.P.A. wont be coming to the rescue.

By contrast, those who think climate change is a real but manageable problem would do well to say as much, too. Climate change means change, not doom. It shouldnt be hard to make the case, even to conservatives, for large scale investments in climate resilience, such as better coastal defenses. It shouldnt be hard, either, to make the case even to liberals that dynamic market economies are essential for creating the kind of wealth that makes environmental protections affordable, along with the innovations that make environmental fixes possible.

Pelosis seal clap sealed the fate of the Green New Deal. Now its time to move climate policy beyond impractical radicalism and feckless virtue signaling to something that can achieve a plausible, positive and bipartisan result.

CEO of Florida facility where caregiver is accused if impregnating a resident is SUSPENDED Daily M

Bridges Foundation President and CEO David Cooke was suspended Thursday

The CEO of a Florida facility for people with disabilities has been suspended after a former employee was accused of impregnating a female resident.

Willie Shorter, 58, was arrested for impregnating 43 year old Dawn Blanchard, a woman with severe developmental disabilities.

She gave birth to her three year old son Robert III in 2015.

Shorter, who was employed at the Bridges Foundation in Rockledge, was arrested on February 6.

The Bridges Foundation announced the immediate suspension of its president and CEO David Cooke on Thursday following the news.

The board of directors at the Bridges Foundation voted unanimously to suspend Cooke, who had led the organization for more than 10 years, according to a news release.

Cooke ran the Rockledge, Florida facility where a former caregiver Willie Shorter, 58, left is accused of impregnating disabled female resident Dawn Blanchard, 48 right

We were shocked to learn that something so terrible could occur involving one of our residents – and we have grave concerns about lapses in leadership that significantly contributed to this regrettable tragedy, chairwoman Susan Stokes Elmore said in a statement.

The Board is especially disheartened that critical information was intentionally withheld from us until only recently, even though it was determined four years ago that the resident had become pregnant.

Similarly, the decision by our organizations top leader to keep the employee on staff despite his possible role in the pregnancy, and the administrations subsequent failure to keep board members fully informed – almost until the employees arrest – is entirely unacceptable, she added in the statement.

Elmore says a panel of outside experts will review the facilitys policies and develop safeguards to prevent future assaults on Bridges residents. Theyre also cooperating with law enforcement in their own investigation.

Vice President Lynn Hudson will serve as interim director and day to day operations at the facility will not be affected, according to

Willie Shorter was charged February 6 with lewd and lascivious battery on a disabled person after DNA evidence linked him with the child.

Blanchards parents filed a suit against Bridges and Shorter on Thursday afternoon.

Dawn who suffered brain damage as a young girl due to measles and also has epilepsy still lives at the center in Rockledge as her family could not afford to move her, reports. They say she cannot consent to sexual conduct.

Shorter was allowed to continue working with Blanchard and 12 others in the home for three years after police began to investigate Blanchards pregnancy in January 2015.

In April 2018 Blanchard complained that Shorter was inappropriately touching her. Then he was asked to provide a DNA sample which showed there was a 99.99 percent change he was the childs father.

The child, Robert III, has been adopted by Dawns brother and is cared for by her father.

Shorter had worked for Woodsmere Estates Group Home for eight years when he was arrested and had stayed there despite suspicions about his conduct as far back as four years ago, police said.

Brevard County court records do not show whether Shorter has an attorney.

After the arrest Cooke said: Well absolutely look back through our reports once we have more details.

We followed our procedures and immediately contacted authorities, and followed through on all investigations, with regard to the Rockledge Police Department, the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.

Weve been in Brevard for 62 years serving people with disabilities. We are absolutely devastated. This is devastating for the client, for the family. Its devastating for the staff who work so hard everyday, working for our clients with significant disabilities.
