NRA Sues Florida For Raising The Age Limit To Buy A Gun - Duration: 2:20.

NRA is suing the state of Florida for passing legislation that raises the age to buy firearms

to 21.

The group claims that the age increase violates the rights of people under 21 years old, and

they're making an equal protection argument, if you can imagine.

Oddly enough, if they're going to win on this, they are going to win on equal protection.

I think that's probably their strongest argument.

They're saying, "What is it about a 21-year-old, what's so magic about that?

What is different between that person and this person?"

Equal protection says we look at the law, we treat people exactly the same way, unless,

unless, and here's where the NRA may lose on this.

There's something in the law called police powers: health, safety, and welfare.

There's a pushback between police powers and something like equal protection.

You've seen time and time again where the police powers have succeeded.

My call on this in Florida, they're filed in the northern district, probably-

Which is embarrassing.

This is in our home district.

Yeah.

They filed in the northern district because they think that's where their best chances

of prevailing are.

Well, at any rate, at any rate, their chances of actually succeeding.

But this bill talked about ... at least it was a step forward.

Pam Bondi, who, to me- She supports it.

She thinks it's a good idea.

Pam Bondi, follow her career, it's a nightmare.

I mean, it's a nightmare career where she is about as right-wing as you'd ever want

to run into.

But she- This is a no-brainer.

All this bill is saying is give us a three-day waiting period.

Right.

You have to wait till you're 21 to buy a handgun or a gun.

You can't use the bumpstocks, which is the ones that fire more rounds per second.

I mean, this isn't- And how about this, Peter?

Makes perfect sense.

They say if law enforcement sees during that three-day period that you're bonkers, and

you're trying to buy a gun or that you've had a domestic incident at home, some kind

of abuse, then the police can say, "No, we're getting involved, and we're going to stop

the sale of this gun."

I mean, it's just logical.

So, the NRA says those steps forward, those minor steps, that those outweigh the health,

safety, and welfare of our students, that you have to wait till you're 21.

Yeah.

You have to wait three days.

It's crazy that they- The NRA can possibly win on this under the

equal protection argument.

That's my prediction.

Donald Trump was mercilessly ridiculed on Twitter for appearing to imitate the Chinese President's accent when discussing criminal sentences for drug dealers

Social media users were quick to pick up on Trump's change in accent when he told reporters of a conversation he had with Chinese President Xi Jinping at a press conference at the White House

He claimed he spoke with President Xi at a trade summit in Argentina about opioid imports to the U

S. which kill 'tens of thousands of people.' He said he asked the President to put the prescription pain-killer Fentanyl on their criminal list of drugs

Trump told reporters: 'With their criminal list a drug dealer gets a thing called the death penalty

Our criminal list, a drug dealer gets a thing called "how about a fine?"'.However his accent appeared to change and soften when he recalled what President Xi told him in response to a question, causing Twitter to go into meltdown

For the next step I want to address two items: first, we have this defect with "contactNumber"

here, but in the constructor we've declared it as "phoneNumber."

So, just to be more consistent, I'm going to go ahead and change this to "contactNumber."

That clears up that error.

But I want to address something else.

I have this "contactType" and I don't necessarily need to change this to an enumeration, but

there are a predefined set of string values that I'd like it to map to.

So, what I can do is create a special type called "Phone" and give it the list of values

that are allowed, and in this case is can be "mobile" or "home."

And then we're just going to change this "contactType" to be "Phone."

And immediately another error crops up down here.

And we can see we're passing in the incorrect value.

So if I take this out, you can see that here I get auto-completion of the appropriate values.

So I can fix this to home.

Actually, I believe it was "mobile."

And then I can fix this one to be the appropriate value for "home."

Now our errors are cleared up.

We can come back to our console, we can recompile, and run the latest version.

And now you see "phone" and "landline" are appropriately displayed, which they weren't

before.

We still have an issue, though, with the "debug info" and finding this so we've still got

some work to do.

Trumps company scraps plans for new hotel chains, blaming politics Los Angeles Times

President Trumps company is scrapping plans for two new hotel chains announced two years ago, casting blame in part on a hostile political environment.

The Trump Organization said Thursday that it will no longer try to open hotels under its Scion and American Idea brands catering to budget and mid priced travelers, a departure from its focus on luxury hotels. The announcement comes as the company has posted losses at a few of its golf properties and brand experts say it has lost some of its appeal.

We live in a climate where everything will be used against us, whether by the fake news or by Democrats who are only interested in presidential harassment and wasting everyones time, barraging us with nonsense letters, the presidents son, Eric Trump, said in an emailed statement. We already have the greatest properties in the world and if we have to slow down our growth for the time being, we are happy to do it.

The rollout began with promises of fast success. The company said in March 2017 that nearly two dozen developers had already signed letters of intent to open mid priced Scion hotels, and was enthusiastic about the future prospects.

Its full steam ahead, said Eric Danziger, who oversees the hotel business for the family. Its in our DNA.

But the avalanche of deals never materialized, as was the case for its budget priced American Idea, which was launched a few months later at a party at the Trump Tower in New York.

The only developer willing to strike a deal was Chawla Hotels of Mississippi, which planned to open as many as four hotels in the state but now that is off, too.

In todays politically charged environment, hotel consultant Lee Hunter told The Associated Press recently, everyone is cautious.

The company is also struggling with some self imposed restraints on expanding its business.

When Trump became president, he handed day to day control of the company to Eric and his other adult son, Donald Jr. He also agreed his company would not pursue new deals abroad and that domestic deals would be vetted by a lawyer hired to make sure they posed no conflicts with Trumps presidency.

We walked away from billions of dollars worth of deals and ceased virtually all expansion, said Eric Trump in his statement. We continue to make tremendous sacrifices and understand the bigger picture more than anyone our father has the most important and powerful job in the world.

The Trump Organization did not dismiss the possibility that it could revive the new brands someday, perhaps when Trump leaves the presidency.

The end of the rollout follows bad news for the company in other areas.

Charities have canceled events at his Mar a Lago resort in Florida, his Scottish clubs lose millions of dollars each year and several buildings have stripped the Trump names off their facades.

The Trump Organization owns or has licensed its name to 17 golf clubs and more than two dozen hotels and residential buildings around the world.

The Trump Organization has also drawn scrutiny in federal probes into Russian interference in the 2016 election and Michael Cohens campaign finance violations. More recently, it is facing blowback from Democrats in Congress for firing longtime workers at several of its U.S. golf clubs for being in the country illegally, raising doubts about its hiring practices amid the presidents vow to crack down on such workers and to build a wall to keep more from coming in.

The company has said it had no choice but to fire workers once it discovered they were in the country illegally.
