Arsenal have held initial talks with Boca Juniors over Cristian Pavon as they look to sign him in January, according to the Daily Cannon
The Gunners have been linked with the Argentine winger for a number of transfer windows and head of football Raul Sanllehi is said to be a huge fan of the attacker
According to reports they have held initial talks and it is now believed that the Copa Libertadores final against rivals River Plate would be a deciding factor as to whether a move will happen or not
Pavon has always said his dream has been to win the Copa Libertadores with Boca and he will have a chance to do it when they take on River Plate in the second leg of the final
The first leg ended 2-2 and the second leg was supposed to have been played over the weekend, but an attack from violent River Plate fans on Boca Juniors team bus led to a 24-hour postponement which was later made indefinite
It is believed that Boca Juniors would only consider selling at the end of the Copa Libertadores campaign which runs from March to November
Which means Arsenal could seal up a deal for the star winger as early as December ahead of the January transfer window
Should he help them win it, he would be entitled to demand that the club let him go for the right offer
The technical winger who creates chances for fun has 11 goals and 19 assists in his last 46 games for his club, and would certainly add a lot of quality width to Arsenal's attack
