Alexandra Burke is the picture of elegance in black evening dress
Scheduling conflicts prompted the cancellation of her UK tour, but Alexandra Burke made sure there was room in the diary for Sir Elton John as he celebrated 25-years of his AIDS Foundation on Wednesday evening.
The former X Factor winner was one of numerous stars to descend on Windsor, where the legendary musician hosted his star-studded Argento Ball on behalf of the charity he originally launched in the United Kingdom in 1993.
Climbing from the rear of her car, Alexandra, 29, looked appropriately elegant in a cinched black dress that served to accentuate her slender physique.
Keeping her accessories to a minimum, the singer ensured her outfit commanded attention as she posed for photos before merging with a score of celebrity guests, amongst them Victoria Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley - two of Sir Elton's closest friends.
Alexandra added to her tasteful look with a simple black clutch bag, while her make-up was understated and deftly applied.
The ball in association with Bvlgari and Bob and Tamar Manoukian celebrates the Silver Anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has embarked on the mission to create an AIDS free future in order to make the biggest possible difference to those living with HIV.
Over the last 25 years the foundation's achievements include: reaching millions across 26 countries with the HIV information, support and care to save their lives and protect those they love; preventing almost a million babies being born with the HIV virus; and helping to leverage more than £300 million in additional funding from governments and funding partners.
Alexandra's stylish outing at the event comes after she announced the cancellation of the UK tour due to 'scheduling issues.
The brunette stunner took to Twitter on Thursday night to post a message telling fans that 'the timing just wasn't right', with a similar statement also shared on her website.
Alexandra was set to embark on a 13-date tour around the UK performing songs from her new album The Truth Is in September, after recently wrapping a stint playing Svetlana Sergievsky in the West End revival of Chess.
In the statement Alexandra told fans that after a break away from the UK, she had decided to cancel her tour, but promised more shows would be taking place in the future.
She said: 'I just got back from the UK after a few days away. I'm really sorry to announce that sadly I had to cancel The Truth Is tour in September. The timing just wasn't right.
'I'm really sorry to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this decision. I love performing more than anything and can't wait to reschedule more live shows in the future.
'There will be more news coming from me soon. Thank you for all your support and understanding.'.
