Waching daily Jun 26 2018

The advertising industry has come a long way from the days of Mad Men.

Here at Cannes Lions, the ad industry's biggest event , executives are facing

a lot of questions about the future of their business - and they don't have a lot of answers.

We surveyed the field to find out what experts here think are the biggest talking points

in the advertising industry. The first thing we found?

Digital means people are taking in content - and ads - anytime, anywhere.

We need to embrace technology.

We need to embrace the fact that our viewers are consuming content everywhere, whenever they want.

It's a complete frustration of mine that digital is still something you tag

onto the beginning of a word when it's actually the world.

We all have phones, therefore we are digital.

That brings us to our second theme: data is money.

Historically you would put money out there and there was no way to understand

if you actually got anything in return.

And now there's very, very easy opportunities to spend a dollar and understand if you made

two dollars or three dollars.

New players from consultancies to blockchain startups are working to track and monetize data in advertising.

Brands and creators have become a little bit too concerned about owning all the data

and they're trying to make too much of the data.

One thing that might curb this data addiction?

New privacy rules like Europe's General Data Protection Regulation - or GDPR.

If people don't comply with the rules, there's real consequences,

where in the past that hasn't been the case.

Another major topic?

Brands want control over their ads.

For many companies, this has meant teaming up with influencers who create their

own content on platforms like Instagram or YouTube.

So in some ways, they're better than some of the brands might be

in creating that content in the first place?

They create amazing content for their own brand.

So they know the brand guidelines themselves. They create aesthetically pleasing content.

And then they know how to distribute. They know how to get audience

because they've created this audience.

Other companies have ditched ad agencies to produce their own content in-house.

Do you think that those agencies that aren't keeping up, could they become irrelevant?

I mean, I think there is the possibility of that happening.

And I think the speed in which we need to evolve today to keep ahead is faster than it's ever been.

The bottom line?

Advertising is evolving quickly - and companies that can't keep up might be left behind.

Hey everyone, Elizabeth here. Thanks so much for watching!

1148B Kindness and education It is my job to only put up an obstacle ※ With subtitles - Duration: 3:46.

Your life was you who came doing ...

The question is how to live the rest of life

I wanted to live like this since I was young.

I wanted to break up with me and wanted to live like this.

and when I was 65 years old I was like this

in that sense, now is just that, is not it?

There are people all over the world who want to do something for the next

But then, what is helps the next?

Someone is suffering

and you help that person, but is that something good for that person?

I thought a lot about this subject

But it's an opportunity, is not it?

You can not steal that opportunity, can you?

If I were like this, I would not want them to get away from me, would they?

Whatever the situation, do not help

The person himself must do to the end

so even if the foot does not improve, the person can consent to it

This is how I think

and as I think so I can not do with my own hands

This is how I think

And when such a person thinks about doing something for the next

Since I was young, I am like this, but ...

How much in relation to the person ...

In the matter of finding how to live ...

How much can you raise the obstacle

I'm that type.

What kind of obstacle can I put to this person?

if the person overcomes this obstacle, it will surely grow

I always think so

What kind of obstacle can I make available?

So it's the same with parents, brothers, and children, is not it?

If you do it normally the person will go the easy way

But who wants the easiest, makes a craving for a creeper, does not it?

after giving the creep and see falling I want to step on

I'm that type.

And then the person can not stand up

If you do not get up you're just that.

My life was like this and I got up, so was my life.

So it's not that I want to do it, but it's a person who thinks this way ...

Inside Japan ... Kind and polite ...

And as a result, of course, Japan did not grow up

and it's not a gentle country at all, is it?

It's a society with the dark side, is not it?

This society has no truth.

And what is the truth?

When the person exposes what they really want

I want to live like this, or I need to live like this

I need to live like this ...

That's what the person has to look for

but without seeking this

chose to live easy, if he is kind and polite to such a person

is the same as saying "die" to that person

You are just spending time to eat and defecate

this is wrong

You have to hit and hit a lot of things.

one must get hurt and even with so much suffering

all these years you lived

It's proof that you lived in this age, is not it?

And to live like that means you lived, did not you?

Easy life, eat and defecate and die

It's like a button, is not it?

This is how I think

This is how I lived thinking, and I still think

I just want to do something for the next one.

I want to be able to respond to what they expect of me

Compensation, reason for living, helping others

I want to be the pro.

and I want to teach these techniques to the world

Diego Maradona: Argentina hero is a LAUGHING STOCK after swearing - Gary Lineker - Duration: 2:10.

That is the opinion of former England striker and Sport presenter Gary Lineker. Maradona was lively as ever in the stands during the match in St Petersburg

He celebrated wildly for Lionel Messi's opener but went a step too far with Marcos Rojo's late goal

The 57-year-old stuck his two middle fingers up at the Nigerian support below.  And Lineker was not impressed when reviewing the incident after the game

"I think he might make the papers for a different kind of celebration," he said. "There's a danger of him becoming a laughing stock I'm afraid in many ways

"But Argentina, a marvellous evening for them, got through and did what they had to do

"  Rio Ferdinand, who was working as a pundit, was equally disappointed with Maradona

"That I think will make a lot of the news as well unfortunately," Ferdinand said

"His career on the pitch as a football player was up there with the best. "But unfortunately there are moments like this that do arise and it is not nice to see that

WTFinance Is an Interest Rate, and How Does It Impact Me? (Part 1) - Duration: 1:40.

What would you say is your relationship with money in two words?

Oh. Kay.

What's up everyone? My name is Ashwin Khurana, and I'm here with Intuit.

Welcome to What the Finance.

So, what would you say is your relationship with money?

Well, I like money and I like to spend money,

but I think that it's important to know your limit.

If you have one credit card and you build up debt on that,

and if you get another one that doesn't necessarily mean

that you can just leave all that behind.

Can you tell everyone at home what revolving credit card debt is?

Revolving credit card debt, um… my knowledge is limited.

Do you know what revolving credit card debt is?

I have no idea.

What is revolving credit card debt?

Revolving credit card debt, I think that's where you put in money…

You use the money from credit cards and then you keep trying to pay off your debt

but you keep getting more debt from the interest that you acquire.

Do you prefer to avalanche or snowball?

Avalanche…

Do you have any idea what avalanche means?

No!

The snowball method is when you start paying off the stuff with the least interest,

then you start building up momentum as you start paying things off.

It's kind of what works best emotionally for people.

Can you tell everyone what the avalanche method is?

I do not know what that is.

The avalanche one sounds kinda scary, honestly.

Yeah, it's when you pay off the thing that has the highest interest.

Mathematically at the end of the day you saved the most money

because you paid off the thing that was most expensive the quickest.

Institute For Telecommunication Sciences: What is ITS? (Sketch) - Duration: 1:53.

The Institute for Telecommunication Sciences researches tests and evaluates

advanced communication and information technology that touches every one of our

lives on a daily basis. From the largest satellites and radar systems to the

smallest smartphones and every communication device in between, ITS

serves as the primary federal resource for solving telecommunication concerns

for government agencies, industry, and for all of us. Telecommunication includes

public safety networks, cell phones, and even Netflix. For example think of attending a

concert trying to share your video of the band but the slow speed and weak

signal make it nearly impossible. That's because everyone else is trying to do

the same thing. ITS analyzes video streaming technology and helps find ways

to get your message to the world faster. Now imagine trying to call for

emergency help from that same crowded concert, but your signal is blocked or

unclear. ITS works with first responders to make sure those messages get to them

and they're able to communicate clearly with each other despite heavy usage and

physical barriers. Is the speech clear? Is the video too grainy? Do cell towers

interfere with radar? Are government communications secure? How can we all

possibly share limited radio frequencies and wireless internet space in an

ever-growing world of technology? These are the questions ITS is answering

every day. The Institute for Telecommunication

Sciences is recognized as one of the world's leading research facilities. ITS

is finding ways to make sure science stays a step ahead of our critical

communication and information technology needs.

-------------------------------------------

What is The Institute for Telecommunication Sciences? - Duration: 1:59.

Our mission is to inform the administration of the science and engineering behind telecommunications

issues and inform policy.

As telecommunications has advanced it is no longer just a matter of broadcast TV, but

now we've got cell phones.

We're now involved in a lot of propagation studies of how cell phones interact with each

other, and, how they interact with some of the other systems.

Our most recent work has to do with things like, 'How close to a weather radar system

can you put a cell tower before it starts interfering with the weather radar?', 'How

close can you site a cell tower to an airport before it starts interfering with the airport

radars?'

Things like that.

Another thing that we're involved in is support for what's called 'First Net'

which is a nationwide cellular system for first responders.

For police, for fire, Coast Guard and so on.

We're filling an important role in testing the capabilities of some of the systems that

come out of the manufacturers.

And looking and working to better define and enhance the standards that they have to meet

in developing this equipment.

It's necessary to have a group that understands the physics, understands the engineering,

understands the technology and can help inform the policy makers and the general public about

what is possible; what isn't possible.

What is efficient; what is not efficient without having a dog in the fight.

We're providing the basic facts, we're kind of the nutrition chart on the back of

the packet that says, 'this is what you're going to get out of this'.
