Good morning everyone!
Me and Niclas just woke up and we are about to go with Joseba..
..to Perchzilla in Spain to continue the hunt for a dream perch. Let's go!
It's like this, I hate it.
It isn't just to go out and catch them.
Just look at the belly and you understand why.
This has to be two kilo.
It was a sick strike, really hard.
We are at the lake and have prepared the kayaks.
You're not allowed to fish from boat here.
Sadly, it just started to rain.
I don't think its bad for the fishing, just makes it harder to film.
Me and Niclas are going to a spot where we had good fishing yesterday.
Let's hope we will have good fishing again.
Time to hit the kayaks and head out on the lake.
Are you excited?
Yes, but it's raining.
I don't think that have to be a bad thing.
It's just bad for the camera
Exactly, but let's go to the hotspot and search for them.
Let's catch a PB for you.
Yesterday I lost a nice one because I didn't have a net.
I almost had it but it swam away.
Im going to start fishing with a Gunki Whiz.
It worked well for Tobias yesterday, he caught a 2,56 kg perch on it.
It should work again today. He insisted I should try it.
Fishing in the spring here in Spain, you fish on 5 to 8 meters of depth.
The perch is standing outside the spawning bays..
..and waiting for the water temperature to be warm enough.
Then they move in to the bays to spawn.
Right now, it's 7,2 degrees.
In about two weeks, I think the spawning will start.
During this time of the year, the perch are at their biggest.
I brought two types of rods.
One spinning rod, that I will use when it's more wind.
This is a Gaitor Baitfish.
I also brought a baitcasting rod, and I will start with this one.
I will start with a Flatnose Mini.
This lure in this color worked very well last year for me.
I even caught a huge one on this lure the first day.
I know this bait works here and when you go on trips like this..
..it's important to fish with confidence.
Use lures you know have worked here before.
If you're fishing a new spot, I recommend asking the guides..
..and the locals for their best tips.
Fish on!
Let's see.
I think it's big one.
It is big
Yes!
Here it is, first fish of the day.
When you fish this spot, you don't catch many fish.
When you catch one early on, you get a good feeling for the rest of the day.
We haven't measured it but I think it weighs 1,8 kg.
It took on a transparent Flatnose mini.
A good start of the day. It's a fat fish and we know they are here.
Time to release it and keep on hammering.
Fish on!
Fish!
Really hard strike.
Damn
I'm calm.
Big perch!
No, it's a zander.
Damn!
Arrived to a new spot and it took five minutes.
I thought it was a big perch. - You got really happy.
Yes, because that's what we want but I haven't got one in the net yet.
It took on the Whiz though. - That's fun.
We found a good spot here. - For sure and cool zander.
I'll put this one back. - It was a hard strike.
Super hard!
Damn, I thought it was a pig..
..but it was zander who tricked me.
It was an extremely hard strike.
I got really excited because it's a big fish water.
Let's try again.
I'm going to put the same lure again, I have two that Tobias gave me.
These Whiz seems to be working
I give you Gunki lures.. - Yeah, I didn't bring any in that color.
All set.
Oh. Fish!
It's a zander
Another one, I don't even need the net for this one.
A zander on the Gunki Whiz again.
Zanderzilla.
It's good that somethings is biting but I want the perch.
Although, they seem far away for me.
All gone! - All gone for me.
It's just keep hammering but at least they are biting.
We have a good spot here with great structure.
We will stay here for a while.
Let's se if it wants to swim back.
They are quite lively when they swim back.
They doesn't do anything and then they swim away with a splash.
It's a great feeling.
It's always great to in the middle of the day go ashore and stretch the legs.
Jairo who owns the Kayak rent, has been here to give us a Spanish baguette..
..and a Spanish beer.
Me and Niclas are going to sit down and make plans for tonight's fishing.
It's not as easy as it may look when you see all the pictures of big perch.
You really have to fight for them.
I missed 2 kilo+ and after that I haven't caught a single perch.
Only 2- 3 zanders.
We have som work left, but that's fishing.
I hate it but it's not just to go out and catch them.
But to we will do it tonight.
We are done eating and ready to fish again.
The plan for the afternoon is to circulate on two spots we know holds big fish.
We will fish those spots hard and hope they will bite in the sunset or earlier.
Let's find out!
Oh, perch! Fish on.
Come on, Niclas!
Big perch, it's a perch!
Take it easy! - I'm calm.
Come on, get in the net.
In with you, yes!
It's not super big but it's a good fish. - You didn't blank!
I didn't blank!
It took, then I lost it and then he took again.
We made a good plan before. - Yes, I only needed three cast.
I finally managed to hook and catch a perch.
New personal best! - First perch caught in Perchzilla.
We have prepared and zeroed the scale earlier.
It's zeroed and ready.
This fish weighs in on 1,76 kg. - Great!
It's a good first fish on 1,76 kg. - Well done, Niclas!
We have many hours left, three more hours.
Indeed, time to release this bad boy.
Congratulations, really fun! - Thank you!
Really good. - Awesome.
Tobbe - I didn't blank!
Is your goal to not blank? - That's my goal.
You're nervous when you come to a new water.
Im not used to go on a fishing trip like this
Of course your nervous at first but it turned out well.
I'm not nervous any more and I might catch a couple of more if I'm lucky.
They are biting really good today, how many have we caught Niclas?
How many could it be? Maybe four perch and three zander.
Something like that, it's crazy. - Around 7 fish.
It took again on a Flatnose Mini.
We weighed this one quickly and it weighed 1.8 kg.
We have many fish but not any top fish over 2 kg.
Although, I think it will come. Back with this one and keep fishing.
Our plan is working, Niclas. Keep fishing the spots we know holds fish.
Two really good fish on 1,7 kg and 1,8 kilo - perfect.
What do you think, should we fish this spot for the rest of the day?
We can maybe fish for two more hours. I think we should stay here.
We could do that or mix it up. - I think we should stay some more.
If nothing happens for an hour, then we might have to change.
Yes, but now we have activity here. We have caught fish every 20 minutes.
That's great. - It's nice.
Fish on!
It looks better. - We'll see.
It has to be big? - Yes, I think so.
It's a big one.
Oh, that's insane.
It has to be over 2 kg.
Niclas what do we have in the net?
Well, it looks like another toad. - I think so.
It's no doubt over 2 kg.
I said we should circulate on two spots. When it was about one more hour left..
..we changed to this spot and after for cast, I caught this perch.
We measured it before we took out the camera and it was 47 cm long.
It's time to weigh it and we have already zeroed the scale.
What do you think it weighs, Niclas?
I think it weighs between 2,2 to 2,3 kg.
It weighs 2,30.. It's not easy
2,36 kg!
What a toad! - It was a good guess.
The sick thing is that it's 47 cm and weighs 2,36 kg.
Just look at this belly and you understand why.
Such a massive belly.
Insane! - Totally crazy.
This is why you go to spain. To catch pigs like this one.
The best thing is we have one more day of fishing.
Time to release this one since we don't want to have it above the water.
I think it will be a great day on the water.
It's almost flat water, we have sun..
..and we are back at the spot we caught fish yesterday.
I think we will catch fish here again today.
Although, the wind will pick up pretty hard in the afternoon.
We have to fish hard in the morning. Let's start!
Fish on!
Crazy!
It's insane.
Yes!
It didn't take long before the first was landed.
We know they are at this spot today as well.
I think it weighs 1,8 kg.
Perfect start!
I just want to continue fishing, let's do a quick release.
Good bye!
Perchzilla delivers once again.
This is life, fishing from a kayak in this weather.
I'm fishing with Gunki Whiz again.
It'll be like "boom" right away.
Fish on! - Great!
First cast.
Really crazy.
It's heavy shakes!
- No!
A zander? - It's a zander.
It's a Whiz Zander, I can't take it.
I changed back to the Gunk Whiz I used yesterday.
First cast, a zander!
Is it zanderzilla for me, seriously?
It's really fun and it wasn't long time after I caught mine.
I don't catch any perch, only zander.
Look, it's fat.
But it's not a perch. - On this Gunki Whiz again.
Zander deluxe.
It's a nice zander. - Indeed.
Caught in the morning.
I thought it was a perch because the strike wasn't as hard as the other ones.
It isn't fun, Tobbe!
I feel bad.
Put it back quick. - I don't want zanders.
Yes, let's go.
- See ya.
That was a nice paddle tour.
Hard winds came out of no where.
The rest of the day, we have to fish protected areas.
It's better to fish these spots than not to fish at all.
The fishing here at Perchzilla has come to an end.
We have had an really amazing fishing.
The biggest one weighed 2,56 kg.
The second biggest fish on 2,52 kg..
..and third best on 2,36 kg.
It's just crazy.
New personal best twice and even my longest perch ever caught.
As usual when we wrap up a video, we will have a competition.
This time you have the chance to win two packs of Flatnose Mini.
Flatnose Mini was the lure I caught my biggest fish on in this episode on 2,36 kg.
To win the competition, you should guess the weight on this perch.
The best guess wins the price.
Write your guess in the comments below and make sure you LIKE the video.
Also, subscribe to the channel and follow me and Niclas on Instagram and Facebook.
All the best - this was an amazing trip.

Patricia Churchland, What is eliminative materialism? - Duration: 4:10.
"Eliminative materialism" is a funny expression. It has got the two parts
to it. One is materialism, and what materialism really means in this context
is that from all we can tell at this stage, there is only the brain. That
mental processes such as remembering and learning, finding something funny, feeling
hungry, feeling dizzy, that these states that we're aware of are actually states
of the physical brain itself. And so materialism really is the idea that all
of what we think of as the mind is something that the brain does. Now, what
about the eliminative part? Well, many years ago Paul, my husband Paul
Churchland, had the idea that as neuroscience develops and as we discover
more and more about the way the physical brain works some of the psychological
categories may not fit very well onto the things that we are discovering about
the nature of the brain. Categories such as the will where you might think of
someone as having a weak will or someone as having a strong will; you might think
of the will as a particular thing in the brain.
Well, almost certainly that's not the case.
Almost certainly there are a whole lot of areas of the brain that cooperate and
integrate when decisions and choices are made. There probably is nothing which is
the will itself. And in that sense I guess you would say that the notion of
the will could be eliminated, not from everyday speech because we're
probably going to continue to talk about those things, but from scientific speech.
It was a prediction about the development of science
and it was really motivated by noticing things like this - that for a long time
people wondered about the fundamental elements and it was widely believed that
the fundamental elements that make all the stuff - the coffee and the chocolate
and the butter and the fire and everything - consisted of earth air fire
and water. Well but by the 19th century it was very
clear that those things themselves were not fundamental but were composed of
many different kinds of things. So the notion of an element profoundly changed
and it profoundly changed because of some basic ideas by Mendeleev. He
realized that the more fundamental things were oxygen, aluminum, hydrogen, tin,
gold; those were the fundamental elements and
so in that sense earth, air, fire and water
you might say God sort of heaved out or eliminated as the fundamental elements.
So Paul was really motivated by the idea that although our current psychological
categories can seem very useful to us and indeed they are, as science
progresses we may find the fit between those categories and then what we're
learning about the brain is not a very good fit. What will happen then? It's hard
to know.

What is Pyukumuku?!- Pokemon Explained - Duration: 3:03.
Welcome back ya'll!
Its another episode of Pokemon Explained.
On this episode I've decided to take a look at one of the most disgusting Pokemon known
to man.
You know me I'm a glutton for punishment.
Of all the Pokemon I've looked into Pyukumuku has to be one of the most disgusting ones
out there.
Don't take my word for it.
Per usual before we do anything let's consult with the Pokedex: It can eject its internal
organs, which it uses to engulf its prey or battle enemies.
Now before we get into this we all know that Pyukumuku is a sea cucumber, but my question
is can actual sea cucumber chuck their internal organs around.
I should know better than doubt the Pokemon Company they do their research.
Get this sea cucumbers possess something called Cuvierian tubules which are clusters of fine
tubes located at the base of the respiratory tree.
These tubules can be discharged through the anus when the sea cucumber is stressed.
Wait a second I thought that white marking on Pyukumuku's face was a kanji I didn't think
it was an anus.
So Pyukumuku is literally shitting on ni&&as.
When stressed, the sea cucumber faces away from the attacker and contracts its body wall
muscles sharply.
This causes the walls to tear and the anus to gape and the free ends of some of the tubes
to be ejected.
Oh my god!
Water from the respiratory tree is forced into these tubules causing a rapid expansion
and they stretch up to twenty times their original length.
They have great tensile strength becoming sticky when they encounter any object.
The adhesive is so strong a firm grip is obtained in under ten seconds.
It just gets worst and worst huh, not only is it firing tubes from its anus they are
all sticky too.
What the hell is wrong with nature man?!
These threads can entangle and immobilize predators such as small fish or crabs.
The threads can be detached from the sea cucumber while it scurries away.
I wonder if Pyukumuku operates in the same manner.
The tubules are easily regenerated taking about seventeen days.
Okay that's enough dammit I shouldn't of written this after I've eaten.
Hands down Pyukumuku and Sea Cucumbers are the most disgusting creatures known to mankind.
Anyway if you enjoy the video leave a like and until next time deuces.

Is Gluten free a Fad? How To Fix Health Problems Related to Gluten Sensitivity - Duration: 13:54.
Hello I'm dr. Timothy Gerhardt. I'm a board-certified chiropractic internist
and I'm all about giving the gift of hope and healing to those ready for
wellness. Today's topic is gluten free a fad? Gluten is a Latin word for glue, you
know that sticky stuff adhesive like protein. There are the gliadins with 12
subunits and the glutenins this means there's 14 types of protein that are
part of the gluten family. The reason this is important is lab testing is very
challenging. You must cover all 14 pathways' multiple
immune pathways. What this means is many typical medical tests will look at one
of those 14 proteins in one pathway as you can guess it's easy to miss and so
just because a doctor says you don't have celiac disease which is the extreme
form of gluten intolerance doesn't mean that he tested that his testing was
sensitive to cover all of these pathways. Also you may have gluten sensitivity
which is also can create huge health problems without meeting the medical
diagnosis of extreme celiac which is over here.
Gluten is present in wheat, rye, barley, spelt, Kemet, bulgar, bulgar wheat and most
oats. Its present than 90% of processed foods. With names like malt extract,
hydrolyzed vegetable protein, multo dextran, modified food starch, natural
flavoring, vegetable protein, yeast extract, hair conditioners cosmetics
contain this as well as most food thickeners. Gluten is basically hidden in
almost all of our processed foods. It's estimated that 1 in 30 people have
celiac disease many are undiagnosed over half of people with this severe gluten
sensitivity or Celiac disease have no digestive symptoms at
all. Another 25% of our population estimates up as high as 30% are gluten
sensitive especially those of northern European extraction like the Swedes and
Norwegians and Germans I happen to be German (Gerhardt) so every family
member that I've tested every one of my immediate family is highly gluten
sensitive. So for those approximately 70 percent who aren't don't have an actual
gluten allergy or gluten immune response they're not celiac or gluten sensitive
what about these people? What we're learning is 100 percent of people who
can consume gluten are affected are harmed by eating gluten. When we eat
gluten our body creates a compound called zaniein which damages the cells
that line our intestine that prevent it from leaking toxins into our bloodstream
toxins are supposed to go in the toilet. words like cadaverine and putrescine
they don't even sound good when those leakin or a blood stream they create all
sorts of inflammation immune activation allergy and other problems. So this
lining of our gut must be sealed tightly between the cells as these zhonyala
levels go up as we eat more gluten would trade a leaky gut and that also leads to
more food allergies partially digested food leaks into the bloodstream creating
an immune response called an allergy. So what are the symptoms what are the
symptoms of reacting to gluten? Well they're wide and diverse because it
affects the immune system and the nervous system primarily remember many
people have no digestive symptoms at all but all sorts of gluten problems so
symptoms conditions associated with gluten sensitivity include attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder as well as just attention deficit
disorder, ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease, and this and the whole host of these scary
autoimmune conditions including things like diabetes, type 2 diabetes is an
autoimmune condition in most people Hashimoto's thyroiditis we hear of that
more and more all types of arthritis that wear-and-tear arthritis is now
viewed as an autoimmune arthritis related not to overusing their joints
but rather inflammation from eating the wrong things.
Alcoholism, sugar cravings, Alzheimer's disease and sadly I have one of my
relatives is dealing with all three of these together. Anxiety, depression, ataxia,
autism, bone loss, ostioperosis, ostiopoeia, brain fog, cancer, delayed growth,
kids that just don't put on weight, failure to thrive adults who are just so
skinny they can't put on weight definitely think of gluten intolerance
along with other food allergies in a leaky gut. Frequent illness people that
are always getting sick, depression, infertility, migraines, digestive
disorders, and seizures, epilepsy and the whole host of seizures as well as
tremors tics and actually I have a family member that has the you know the
jerking reaction referred to as Tourette's syndrome definitely
associated with gluten intolerance and other autoimmune issues. So gluten breaks
down to exorphans which are peptide or protein fragments that stimulate the
brain and receptors in the brain so particularly gluten stimulates the opium
receptors or the opiate as in opium morphine, heroin, oxycodone, percocet what
that means is when we consume gluten we get a drug like euphoria a reward we
feel good like taking a drug. So imagine our food process
have modified our grains now so they contain up to 40 times more gluten than
the ancient grains that isn't 40% that's four thousand percent. What that means is
when we eat Krispy Kreme donuts or breakfast you know the Box breakfast
cereal for kids high in sugar high in these glutens we have a drug like
addictive effect which is wonderful for selling products but not wonderful for
our health remember the whole cigarette tobacco
controversy we've been through what came out in the court documents is tobacco
companies were spiking their cigarettes with extra nicotine to make them more
addictive so they could sell more an addicted customer is forced to buy your
product and so that isn't that isn't right on many levels and it's important
you'd be aware of the addictive qualities. What it also means is if you
decide to go gluten-free you may feel worse before you feel
better remember you many people go through gluten drug withdrawal symptoms.
So the brain on gluten is like the brain on drug commercials many of us have seen
you know the the eggs frying in a pan this is your brain on drugs
well your brain on gluten is your brain on fire. Devouring gluten laden carbs
especially combined with sugars like drinking a gasoline cocktail huge
amounts of information your brain nervous system and throughout your body
especially your gut remember the first brain is in your skull the second brain
is in your gut. Addictive brain changes from devouring
these gluten Laden carbs autoimmune damage diabetes and insulin resistance
and the epidemic of diabecity which is the word diabetes combined with the word
obesity. So how do we treat it? The treatment is the four R program this is
in Chapter two of my book I learned this from dr. Jeffrey Bland been a mentor
over the past three decades and it involves the four R's
first our is remove. Remove gluten but it isn't just gluten in my 30 years of
practice I've never seen somebody who's gluten sensitive or reactive who's
reacted to just gluten because remember damage got you developed more allergies.
So we see gluten and dairy and eggs and citrus and almonds and whatever that's
why we typically test 96 foods multiple immune pathways when we do blood food
allergy testing. Also removing parasites many people have overgrowth of harmful
bacteria some people have actually you know the classic parasites and you know
like worms and things like that but removing all of the bad stuff. Next
up the next our second R is replace. Replace stomach acid after age 40 our
ability to make stomach acid drops way down in fact if we have significant
inflammation of the gut we've had damage to the gut leaky gut we often make
little or no stomach acid which means digestion doesn't work. One of the
symptoms paradoxically is acid reflux that can happen from two little as well
as too much stomach acid so we also add into dest of enzymes because our food
must adjust completely or it becomes toxic harshly digested food creates
inflammation and toxicity and so we have to get that working right and many
people don't have enough energy to digest properly especially when they've
been dealing with these conditions for months or years along with fatigue and
they don't sleep right so we have to do energetic recharge to get the digestive
system to work right. Things like spinal adjusting things like acupuncture with
and without wires things like frequency specific
microcurrent class 4 laser things like pulse magnetic field therapy are all
phenomenal to get the gut working energizing and working better and tuned
up and so digestion's back online. The third R is repair.
One of my favorite products for that is something we call probiotic max restore
it's especially nutraceutical contains high potency immunoglobulins to heal the
leaky gut as well as other compounds to reduce inflammation prebiotics
probiotics and one of my favorites sacrumison which is a strain of yeast
that kills pathogenic yeast. It also contains the high quality probiotics at
high potency - to start this gut healing and calming process. Another compound or
another nutraceutical I very much like his histoblock it is the diamine
oxidase compound that breaks down zanielin. Remember leaky gut caused my
zanielin? Well a healthy intestine free of leaky gut makes this enzyme to break
down zanielin so it doesn't damage the gut creating leaky gut well people are
in trouble dated we use histoblock to get this started we also use things like
l-glutamine and aloe and licorice compounds and other type things to
reduce inflammation and support healing.
So in addition reinoculation that's the fourth R and so what's important
is that the probiotics be listed in the National formulary of cultures this is
in chapter 5 of my book that means their identity verified that means what's in
the capsules really in there at the potency that's simple that's needed and
it's certified as safe and effective in humans. That means is it's
Bifidobacterium hn 105 for example the letters and numbers after each strain
tell us in the national formulary of cultures so the good news is for those
who do suffer with chronic health issues that are associated with this gluten
sensitivity there is a way to restore and get our health back. We call it
giving the Gift of Hope and healing to those ready for wellness through
dealing with all of the road issues what I also know it's important to measure
your digestive health different lab and other exam testing and then make sure
it's working because just avoiding gluten isn't enough.
In fact I've rarely seeing avoiding gluten alone leading to restoration of a
healthy digestive immune and nervous system. So we're event always available
for questions the word doctor means teacher and next week I'll have another
topic thank you for joining.

What is Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP)? [Part 1] - Duration: 7:04.
-------------------------------------------
What is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD? - Duration: 2:57.
COPD is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Chronic means the condition is going to be there and it's been there for a long time,
it's going to be there for a long time, the but the good news is that COPD is treatable
in addition to being long standing.
Obstructive refers to the fact that the breathing test has a certain kind of abnormality with
airflow limitation.
Pulmonary disease, it's a problem of the lungs inside the chest.
Symptoms of COPD
Shortness of breath, cough and phlegm are the major symptoms of COPD that drives patients
to come see their physician.
Shortness of breath is sometimes first recognized as inability to do what you normally can do.
In addition, many patients have what's called exacerbations.
That means some acute respiratory event which is associated with more shortness of breath,
more cough, and more phlegm.
Those exacerbations are very important and need to be treated appropriately and rapidly.
How to Diagnose COPD
The most important and common diagnostic test for COPD is a breathing test.
The name of that breathing test is spirometry, but it's pretty simple.
It requires you to take a deep breath in and blow it out as hard and fast as you can.
With that test we find out that the air passages are narrow and that's the classic definition
of COPD, along with symptoms.
In addition, there are some other tests that people sometimes have.
They may go in and have a CT scan of their chest because they have some other respiratory
complaint and one finds emphysema on their chest x-ray.
Breathing tests and x-rays are the most common ways we diagnose COPD.
Treatment Options for COPD
The important thing that people should know about COPD is that it's treatable.
Think about what symptoms you have as an individual.
If you have shortness of breath, we have lots of treatments for that.
One of the important treatments is actually a non medical treatment or at least a non-medication
treatment and that's exercise.
If you exercise regularly, you'll be able to do more before you get out of breath.
A regular exercise program is sometimes started as what's called pulmonary rehabilitation.

(NFL) Getting Tom Brady at a discount is really a bad deal. Here's a breakdown
Tom Brady has caused a bit of a stir since the Patriots' loss in Super Bowl LII to the Eagles.
It took him more than two months after the defeat to commit to playing the 2018 season, which was surprising because Brady, who turns 41 in August, had been steadfast in his insistence that he is going to play into his mid-40s.
Brady hasn't been at voluntary offseason workouts, which started a month ago. He plead the fifth when recently asked if the Patriots appreciate him.
Brady's unwillingness to toe the company line is uncharacteristic because he has dutifully played the role of loyal soldier during his 18-year tenure with the Patriots. Reports have surfaced that Brady is chafing under head coach Bill Belichick's heavy-handed approach to running the team.
According to NFL Network, Brady has expressed a desire for a new contract before the season starts. Patriots owner Robert Kraft stated last month in an interview with The Athletic's Jeff Howe that he was comfortable with Brady's contract, which runs through the 2019 season.
He also said he would deal with Brady's contract if it became an issue. Don Yee, Brady's longtime agent, doesn't believe his client's timetable has changed. He expects Brady to play beyond his existing contract.
The ideal scenario in the NFL is finding a long-term quarterback solution through the draft who quickly becomes a starter so his team can stockpile talent and create depth while he's most affordable. The Seahawks nearly won consecutive Super Bowls during the 2013 and '14 seasons, when Russell Wilson, a 2012 third-round pick, was making less than $750,000 per year on his rookie contract.
The Eagles currently have a roster-building advantage with 2016 second overall pick Carson Wentz, who is on a rookie contract averaging just under $6.7 million per year. Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles, one of the NFL's higher-priced backup quarterbacks, is a luxury Philadelphia can afford because of Wentz's economical rookie deal.
Brady's contract renegotiations since 2013: The Patriots have had the next best thing with Brady, who is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.
Brady started taking a unique approach to his contracts in 2013, when he first renegotiated the four-year, $72 million contract extension he signed in 2010 to make him the NFL's highest-paid player (by average yearly salary). He began consistently giving the Patriots hometown discounts instead of driving the market.
Brady had completed two years of the 2010 extension when he took a big hometown discount during an offseason renegotiation. He freed up $8 million (2013) and $7 million (2014) of salary-cap room for the Patriots by lowering his cap numbers in those years to $13.8 million and $14.8 million.
Depending upon how it was characterized, Brady signed a five-year, $57 million deal or a three-year, $27 million extension (the value of his new contract years). Either way, it was substantially under his market value. He received $33 million, which was fully guaranteed, in the first two years of the new deal instead of the $30 million he was scheduled to make in the remaining two years of his old contract.
Of the guaranteed money, $30 million was a signing bonus with a significant portion deferred. Brady received $10 million of his signing bonus in 2013, $15 million in 2014 and the remaining $5 million was paid in February 2015.
The final three years of Brady's pact (2015 through 2017) for $24 million were guaranteed for injury at signing. These years also became guaranteed for skill (without an offset) by him being on New England's roster for the final game of the 2014 regular season.
Brady curiously gave up the skill guarantee of his $7 million, $8 million and $9 million base salaries in 2015, '16 and '17 right after the 2014 regular season ended. In exchange, $1 million was added to each of his base salaries for these years.
Since there was only an injury guarantee left in each of the remaining years of Brady's contract, the Patriots weren't required to fund his guarantees. According to league rules, a team must place into an escrow account the amount of any skill guarantees in a contract.
The change in Brady's contract gave the Patriots use of $24 million that wouldn't be available otherwise because of the funding requirement.
Brady's contract maneuver only freed up cash, not salary-cap space. In fact, Brady's 2015, '16 and '17 cap numbers of $13 million, $14 million and $15 million went up by $1 million in each of those seasons because of his modest salary increase. Reworking the deal also made it easier for the Patriots to release Brady, as long as he stayed healthy, if his performance declined, which obviously didn't happen.
Brady signed a two-year extension in March 2016 for $41 million running through the 2019 season, when he will be 42 years old. This pact can also be viewed as a four-year, $60 million deal. Before the extension, Brady was making $9 million and $10 million in 2016 and '17, the last two years added in the 2013 renegotiation.
He received a $28 million signing bonus while lowering his 2016 and '17 base salaries each to $1 million, $11 million more than he was scheduled to make over this time before the contract adjustment. Half of the signing bonus wasn't payable until March 2017.
Half of the signing bonus wasnt payable until March 2017. Bradys 2016 salary was fully guaranteed. His 2017 salary was guaranteed for injury. It became fully guaranteed on the third day of the 2017 league year, which began that March. Bradys $14 million 2018 base salary went from being completely unsecured to fully guaranteed this past March 16, which was the third day of the current league year.
Brady's 2016 salary was fully guaranteed. His 2017 salary was guaranteed for injury. It became fully guaranteed on the third day of the 2017 league year, which began that March. Brady's $14 million 2018 base salary went from being completely unsecured to fully guaranteed this past March 16, which was the third day of the current league year.
Quantifying Brady's discount: Brady is underpaid, especially when focusing on the new money he receives through his contract maneuvers compared to what he would have gotten had he played out his 2010 contract, which was set to expire after the 2014 season. There is $71 million of new money over five new contract years for an average of $14.2 million per year.
Brady's contract compensation trails every quarterback by a significant amount. Rodgers, who is the closest, has made almost 25 percent more than Brady.
Signing bonus deferrals were taken into account. Otherwise, Stafford would be higher on the list because $16.5 million of the $50 million signing bonus he received from the Lions last August in his five-year, $135 million extension wasn't payable until this past February.
Brees would rank behind everyone besides Brady if $12 million of the $37 million signing bonus from his 2012 deal wasn't paid in January 2013. The Collective Bargaining Agreement's daily amounts for participating in a team's voluntary off-season workout program are included in the calculations.
Brady's cap numbers over the five years have also been manageable thanks to him giving the Patriots financial discounts.
Brady's approach to his contracts has paid dividends in allowing the Patriots to assemble a more talented roster than they would have otherwise. Brady and the Patriots have gotten two more Super Bowl wins in three appearances since starting the process.
Brady hasn't started a trend among upper-echelon quarterbacks with the discounted contracts, although Brees, at 39, gave the Saints a financial break for the first time in numerous contract dealings with the franchise this offseason.
There's a good chance Brees could have become the NFL's first $30 million player on a short-term deal if he'd had a willingness to exploit his leverage by exploring potential options with teams instead of limiting negotiations to just the Saints. He signed a two-year, $50 million contract with $27 million fully guaranteed to remain in New Orleans. The fully-guaranteed amount equals Brees' 2018 salary.
Renegotiating Brady's contract: Quarterback salaries have exploded since Brady's 2016 renegotiation, when he added two contract years (2018 and '19) averaging $20.5 million. Eight quarterbacks have signed long-term deals averaging more than $20.5 million since Brady's extension in March 2016.
The Falcons recently made Ryan the NFL's first $30 million player. Rodgers is expected to top Ryan's deal at some point before the Packers start training camp in late July.
The Patriots would be justified in taking a wait-and-see approach with Brady, given his age. Brady is entering unchartered territory. No quarterback has ever performed at an extremely-high level after turning 41. The NFL's history with quarterbacks in their 40s isn't pretty because Father Time is undefeated.
Typically, there isn't a gradual decline with older quarterbacks. The decline occurs rapidly, as was the case with Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Father Time snuck up on both of them like a thief in the night.
However, Brady isn't showing any signs of slowing down. He was named league MVP in 2017 after having the finest season in NFL history for a quarterback after turning 40.
Brady threw for a league-leading 4,577 yards while having the third-best completion percentage (66.3) of his career, which was fifth in the NFL. Brady's 32 touchdown passes were third in the league and he also had the third-best passer rating at 102.8.
The Patriots should be extremely grateful that Brady hasn't used the contract leverage he possessed when he had the chance. Brady is scheduled to make $15 million in both 2018 and '19. The $15 million in each year consists of a $14 million base salary and $1 million of game day active-roster bonuses ($62,500 per game). Brady has a $22 million cap number each year.
The Patriots could use Brees' new contract with the Saints as a baseline since he's also defying the odds by playing at an extremely high level when most quarterbacks have already retired.
A three-year extension for $75 million which is a series of one-year options running through the 2022 season when Brady is 45 wouldn't be unreasonable under the circumstances. The option on each of these contract years would need to be picked prior to the start of that particular league year.
Of Brady's $28 million in base salaries, $25 million could be converted into a signing bonus while adding a $7.5 million bonus for reporting to training camp this year and a $7.5 million third-day-of-the-2019-league-year roster bonus (early to mid-March next year).
Brady's salary in the 2020-22 contract years would be $20 million annually. There could also be $5 million of incentives available in each of the extension years if Brady continued to perform statistically in a similar manner as last year, was named first team All-Pro or the Patriots won the Super Bowl.
With the renegotiated contract, Brady would be making $45 million over the next two years instead of $30 million. If $7.5 million of the $25 million signing bonus was deferred until 2019, his $27.5 million compensation for this year would be $500,000 more than Brees'.
Brady's cap numbers in 2018 and '19 would remain at $22 million with his base salaries getting lowered to $1.5 million. His cap hit in the final three years would remain constant at $25 million because of a $20 million salary and $5 million in annual signing-bonus proration.

Hello, and welcome to my Vlog.
Well, not really a Vlog today, but my explanation.
A while ago I said that I was going to explain why I was gone.
...So late.
And I didn't so here we are!
And, um, yeah I was at a funeral
...In West Virginia
Someone I knew died.
We stayed there for a while.
I didn't really get to make these videos as much
I don't really need to anyway, now.
But anyway... you're not interested in that are you?
Yeah, I know I'm stuttering, I do that often and alot.
Have you ever got those chills up your spine?
You know, like a sudden jolt?
It's not hot. It's not cold. It's just
...Random.
I-I don't like when it happens at all.
I-I don't like that
I-I don't like that at all.
(Breathes in.)
(Soft Bang)
(Footsteps)
13
(Crashing noises.)
(Chair screaching)
Oh, Look at us.
Pitiful, Fleshy bags filled with liquid.
The most advanced species on the planet
...and we're all trying to kill each other.
It's funny when you think about it.
Something that could have been so great
But it all falls down when someone tries to achieve it
We consider ourselves the best.
How narcissistic.
Animals are better than us.
Animals kill because they have too.
They have to survive.
It's in their blood.
We?
We kill because we want to
Because we want to be great.
We want to achive our greatness.
WRONG
We kill because we can.
Because who doesn't like the power you feel when you pull the trigger,
...when you draw a knive?
Feeling like you're making a difference
...an impact to something
...in a world of pointless dead-ins?
That's what we want, really.
We want to make an impact
To be
...meaningful
Because it's scary isn't it?
To look at that deep, dark hole and realize it's empty.
That nothing
...does matter and that there's no light at the bottom
But tell me why
...I smile when I look at that hole?
I laugh.
So tell me, cousin
...do you laugh like me?
(Frightened gasp)
(Heavy breathing)
