Waching daily Oct 2 2018

hey guys it's Shina from Shi Walks With God my blog and YouTube channel. Teaching

you how to live with purpose and create a life you love.

Today's motivation message is titled know who you are and this is something I

felt led to share because it was a journey for me to get to this point of

knowing who I am one of the common themes that I've found with this area in

particular has to do with the way that people treat you essentially people will

treat you the way that you allow them to and it's usually directly correlated

with how you treat yourself oftentimes a lot of people will find that they're

not really treated well and they don't really know why Romans 8:17 tells us

that we are co-heirs with Christ and we will share in his glory we are seen as

royalty and a lot of times we don't treat ourselves like we're royalty you

are a child of the Most High you are special

anointed you are an heir to a kingdom all of these things so start carrying

yourself as such walk in your god-given Authority and stop looking down at

yourself hold your head high look up and rule through this day like a true heir

to the throne because you are that is it for today guys I really hope and pray

that this message encouraged you today uplifted you maybe just helped you start

What is Agile Development Methodology? (hint Agile isn't a methodology) - Duration: 3:52.

What is Agile Development

Most organizations that produce software want to say they are practicing Agile Development,

but what does that really mean?

To say you are practicing Agile Development you need to striving to follow the Agile Manifesto.

The Agile Manifesto is a collection of 4 values and 12 principles.

Our video called "What is Agile?"

goes through these in detail, so be sure to check it out if you haven't.

For the purposes of this video, it is important to note that these values and principles don't

specify a methodology.

Both are very general.

The principles simply come out of trying to follow the Agile Values.

There are all kinds of procedures and methodologies people use to try to follow the Agile principles

and values, but if teams start focusing on those more than the actual values and principles,

they are missing the point of Agile.

You can't follow an "Agile Methodology" to become Agile.

You have to follow the Values and Principles first and foremost.

Perhaps a methodology will help, but if you forget *why* you are following that methodology,

you aren't following Agile.

There is a story about a young prince from Northern India who married a young woman.

Unlike some royal unions, they were obviously deeply in love with each other.

After a year and a half of marriage the young woman was stung by a poisonous insect and

tragically died.

The prince was heart broken and lay at the foot of her bed for two days without leaving.

Eventually he ordered her body to be put in a silver coffin and placed in a sarcophagus

made from alabaster.

He then dedicated his life to building a monumental building around her body to remember their

love.

Year after year he put all his effort into improving the structure and making it more

and more beautiful.

He was constantly looking for ways to improve every aspect of the building that had his

queen at the center.

After spending his life directing the work and rework of every aspect of the huge monument

he kept having the nagging feeling that something wasn't quite right.

He knew that there was some change that would bring the magnificent monument closer to perfection.

After years of making new additions and removing them in search of just the right thing to

make it better, he pointed his finger at the sarcophagus in the center of the otherwise

perfect building and ordered it removed.

This is what happens when teams get so focused on the *way* they are trying to follow Agile

that they forget what Agile really is.

They forget why they are doing all the things they are doing.

Successful Agile teams are the ones that understand the importance of the values and principles.

Their practices and methodologies are always merely ways to support the values and principles.

Otherwise, like the Prince, they get so focused on what they are doing that they eventually

throw out the very reason they are doing it.

If you want to know more about Agile, click here for a cartoon explaining the Agile Principles

and Values.

Also I have a book on getting started with Agile.

I'd love to give you a free copy if you want to click here.

Free Editor for YouTube Videos! Is DaVinci Resolve Good for beginners? - Duration: 6:09.

okay so you want to edit your YouTube videos you want to put in a intro and an

outro but you not sure which software to use perhaps you don't want to use an app

you'd rather use your standard desktop software so in this video we're going to

have a look at DaVinci Resolve which is a free software it's very popular it's a

very good software and that's coming up after the intro how's it going everybody

my name is trevor welcome to another episode of transporter tech and in this

video we're going to have a quick look today at DaVinci Resolve it's just gonna

be a real quick overview it's not a full review there's plenty of those on the

internet already I'm sorry I'm YouTube already I'm just gonna do a real quick

run-through and see what we'd have to do to just add an intro and and end screen

to our videos ok so now I'm going to fire up DaVinci Resolve for the first

time well I've not used the program before this is my first time using it ok

so here we are what I'm saying is hey we get your media pool we need to import

some stuff we're gonna do it through there follow it you could just drag and

drop stuff but I'm gonna do it like this cuz I've got some files set aside

specifically

okay so we remain ports so we're gonna improve got their intro we got here's my

little demo clip with me to say I'm blob up which is super hilarious

mmm mmm scream and bam so now we're on I guess we have to for I don't know I'm

wearing this stuff the same ways you guys are but it's not super hard like

don't forget see yeah it's a little more complicated than your standard so right

off the bat I'm thinking I'm using using apps - probably a lot easier than trying

to use this I have a lot of experience editing - so it's not it's only a simple

matter to go in and figure it out but yeah this might not be the best program

for beginners okay so we create a new timeline with this clip just a little

thing up here - moving it out so okay now we're gonna we'll play it to figure

out that was going everybody blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and blah

the intro okay so now we should be able to yeah

let's blade so we're going to cut that move this and drag our intro there and

put it back so now let's do the intro so blah blah blah okay so now we have our

interest in there we just simply drag our end scream to the end here okay so

that's it really that's just a quick look at how to do it it's not super hard

but if you're new to video anything altogether I don't know perhaps this

software isn't actually the best one for a beginner to start with I'll have to do

another a follow-up video to this from here though we would just run T we want

to export or render sometimes it's either render or export but yeah this is

like more complicated than I thought maybe I can't really recommend this

particular software when you compare it to abusing an app this is much harder

much trickier figure out than an app you know and for YouTube videos this might

be considered overkill I can't recommend this software for beginners to edit

YouTube videos once you've gained some experience that's a different story but

for right now I'm gonna have to move on to a different software for that if

you're because I'm looking for the best apps and software to edit YouTube videos

for beginners and this is not one hate to say it unless somebody else disagrees

I know some some of you out there use this if you disagree let me know

make your own video showing how easy it can because I don't think it's it's not

hard I can figure it out but right now yeah I can't recommend it alright this

is Trevor with transporter tech thank you for watching and have a good

one peace sharing resources please consider subscribing and dude forget to

hit the bell notification icon so we can continue to bring you further content

This Kazakh Canadian Illustrator is Killing it as an Artist - Duration: 2:14.

I really didn't believe that I could be an artist.

I didn't see that as a reality.

I felt like I was on this lonely island

with a dream of being an visual artist,

and then I had this sort of, whole epiphany

of that it is possible,

and you just have to find your people, find your tribe.

I get often asked what was your plan B–

if that didn't work out, what was it?

It was a big leap of faith because I quit the job,

I gave up my apartment, I gave up a whole bunch of things.

It was very unapologetic.

People are like, are you sure?

Shouldn't you just take a little bit of a step,

maybe do it part-time?

It just didn't make sense to me.

All that made sense to me was to start over

with my vision and my direction.

It was until I moved to New York,

and I saw artists and all kinds of illustrators

and designers, people my age,

just hustling very hard every day, making it work.

Paying their bills with their art creations.

I was so moved and also realized,

well, if I work really hard (laughs)

and I create a lot of artwork,

hopefully I'll be able to make even

a little bit of a living,

and that was enough to get me to stick to my guns,

and stick to what you're good at, stick to what you love,

and things will come through.

The more I do it the less people

question your decision making,

and I felt like that was the trick

to be this confident in your pursuit,

that everybody around you

believes in you in a similar way.

It was incredible.

When my income started to come from my artwork,

it became super motivating to see that it's possible.

Working with a variety of clients,

starting my first project for Hootsuite,

and now working for Starbucks, or Lululemon.

I get to meet all these people who are doing something new

and collaborate and story tell,

and I cannot believe that this is a job. (laughs)

Your Biggest Gift is YOUR PRESENCE - Duration: 1:01.

In a world full of distractions, the biggest gift you can give people is your presence.

If you go on any social media we compare our lives to everybody else's

highlight reels and it's eroding our self-esteem.

The good news?

It's not your fault!

Social media is actually designed to be

addictive.

What is best for capturing your attention,

is not best for your well-being.

Studies have shown that just having your phone visible will be more

distracting than having your phone in your bag and that way you're much less

tempted to check what's happening online

and focus on what's right in front of you.

So next time you want to spend some quality time with your

friends, your family or your partner,

unplug or a better connection.

Netflix Co-founder: Liberal Arts Education Is Key - Duration: 0:48.

I'm a big believer in a liberal arts education because I think it prepares

people for a world which they don't really know what it's gonna be like. For

example, there's things that I got from Hamilton that I use every single day. My

writing; Hamilton really taught me how to write clearly and concisely, how to make

and defend an argument on paper and I can't tell you how useful it is to be a

strong advocate in a written form. Also one of the best courses I took was my

public speaking course here for the same reasons. I need to be able to articulate

my ideas and convince people of things and the lessons I learned back then, now

almost 35 years ago, again, I use almost every day.
