A RINO Sen.
Is Holding Something Crazy Ransom To Stop A Trump Policy
Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans have united to take down the President's agenda.
Both of those groups hate President Trump so much they are willing to put their differences
aside to oppose him.
And the worst of the RINO senators just began holding something crazy ransom to stop one
of Trump's major policies.
Outgoing politicians usually do one of two things, either rush to make an impact based
on what they were elected to do, or completely abandon the principles they were elected on.
Without having to face voters again, it doesn't matter what they do in their final term in
office.
Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona is the perfect example of a politician turning on his voters.
When he was first elected in 2013, he was seen as one of the most conservative politicians
running for office, touting a solid record as a Congressman.
But as soon as he got a whiff of the U.S. Senate, he got swamp fever and began voting
against the interests of his very conservative constituents.
And then when the campaign of Donald Trump came about he made a name for himself in the
'Never Trump' movement.
At every occasion possible he tried to take down Trump and didn't slow down when President
Trump became President.
It was when Trump became President that Sen. Flake chose not to run for re-election, likely
because of his pro-Trump opponent Kelli Ward seemingly having the edge on him.
And it's now that he has chosen not to run for re-election that his anti-Trump push has
reached new heights.
Over the weekend Flake stated that he is going to block President Trump's judicial nominees
in order to gain leverage on blocking Trump's tariff policy.
Flake is firmly opposed to Trump's "fair trade" policy and most of his other policies.
He has called Trump's presidency a "crisis," and oftentimes sided with Democrats to fight
back.
With his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Flake has a lot of power when it
comes to judicial nominees.
It is his committee that issues recommendations on judicial nominees before they receive a
confirmation vote.
And with the committee divided, with Republicans holding 11 seats to the Democrats' 10, Flake
has a real chance to fully side with Democrats and make it virtually impossible for any Trump
nominee to make their way out of the committee.
But according to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, they are prepared to hold
out until the administration can find a way to deal with Flake.
The Senate's confirmation calendar is overwhelmed with other executive branch nominees, so they
can hold out while Flake is dealt with.
But even if he can't be bargained with in a fair way, Flake won't be a problem once
he is replaced in early 2019, making his anti-Trump threats useless.
In the meantime, he can continually attack President Trump, much to the chagrin of Arizona
voters, who overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump.
Are you happy that Sen. Jeff Flake is leaving office next year?
