About the Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Program at the National Endowment for Democracy - Duration: 2:19.

♪♪♪

I wanted to find a place where I could learn

a whole lot more about democracy and its promotion.

From day one it was really a close group

a group of friends, eight

fellows, eveyone was super nice

doing super interesting stuff.

It's really amazing to see all these experiences from

different countries. When I worked in Egypt sometimes

it feels like a person is working in a vacuum or

no one else goes through the same things that they go through.

It was really good to see the experiences, the projects,

the ideas that the other fellows had.

The program was founded in 2001 to bring dedicated

democracy activists, scholars, and journalists to be in

residence at NED, to benefit from the environment here

and to strengthen their capacity to do their work.

Starting in 2001 in the fall we

had just 4 fellows to begin the program, and since then

we have hosted over 280 fellows from more than 90 countries.

It has been a breathing space

you are like a bit removed from the reality of

everything that you do.

For a researcher like me, this

is the perfect place to be because here you really

have the time to focus on your

research. Everyone at NED seems

to be interested in what you are doing.

The trends that we've seen

really challenging some of our

basic assumptions about the

trajectory of democracy mean

that it's as important as ever

to have courageous individuals that are able to fight for their

rights within their home countries

to make their own societies

more democratic and more

responsive to their citizens.

The most important part that

I think I will take home

is the inspiration.

So it's been really like an

inspiring more than five months

for me. Talking to these people,

seeing how NED operates,

it's been just a great time to be here.

And then I didn't know what to

expect, but it's been

it's been incredible. It's been

an incredible learning experience.

Team Building Games for Kids Part 2 - Duration: 2:39.

hey guys! Shawn here. Welcome to group games for kids. Today's video is another

team-building group games for kids. i've got three new ones for you today. Make

sure to come back next week because this is a part of a series. If you don't want to

miss out make sure you hit that red subscribe button down below, ring that

little bell to receive notifications of when I upload because I upload every

week. If you like new ideas for your kids. I'm just a mom looking for some

games for my children. Coming at you with three new games starting now. Let's get

into today's video. This game is called create a shape. You're going to get all

of your kids together -everybody- and one rope. Everybody grabs hold of the rope

and you're gonna have one child to be the voice. The other kids are going

to be blindfolded. As they hold on to the rope you call out the name of the shape:

Circle, Square, triangle- I don't care what it is -call out the name of a shape. The

one child hears the name of the shape and has to instruct the other

blindfolded kids in how to create that shape. Group game number two is a classic.

Classic as in I used to play this in my youth group growing up. It is called

human knot. So everybody in your group -you probably need at least five kids-

everybody in your group holds hands, grabs a different person's hands so you

can't hold the person's hand beside you and you can't hold your own hand. It

wouldn't work. Everybody grabs a hand and forms a giant knot. You cannot let go

of hands. Everybody must figure out how to get out of their giant knot so that

everybody is loose and in a perfect circle without being in a knot. It's as

simple as that. Group game number three is "what is a what's it?" what is a

what's it? You're going to want to plan ahead and have some sort of an object

that is fun and usual- like this one- already put together ahead of time and

the supplies to create an additional one. You're gonna have one kid who can see

the object, one kid who can hear the instructions from the one child who can

see the object, and then the other team members will be putting the object

together based off of what the second person- the ears- tells them. I will put

instructions in the description box down below for a little more details on

this game. Those are our three group games -team building games- for kids today. I will

see you next week for another set of team-building group games for kids so

don't forget to come back next Friday and I will see you then. Thanks for

watching! don't forget to hit that subscribe button down below before

you forget!

General Tips For Internal Linking On Your Site - Internal Links SEO - Duration: 0:55.

Internal linking is that advanced SEO tactic that helped you improve how search engines

and your readers understand and consume your content.

There are a number of ways to implement internal links on your website, and here are three

tips to boost the benefits of internal link building today.

One, create lots of linkable, high quality content.

Internal links are needed to provide context for search engines on your audience, but you

can only build internal links if your content is valuable for your customers.

Two, don't overuse links in your content.

Using too many internal links in your content can confuse your audience, dilute your power

of each link, and devalue your content in search engine algorithms.

In general, try not to link out to more than five other pieces of content in each of your

articles.

Three, make sure that your internal links are relevant.

You should only link to content on your site with internal link when your content that

you are linking to is contextual, relevant, and valuable for your audience.

Use these tips to ensure that your site enjoys all the benefits of internal linking today.

Bellroy Card Pocket | Minimalist Wallet for Credit Card Collectors - Duration: 7:44.

Hey, it's Ernest from Trip Astute.

In this video, we're reviewing a wallet that you've probably seen in a lot of my

videos -- the Bellroy Card Pocket.

It my daily wallet that I use to carry all my credit cards and cash.

(light chiming music)

Being a points and miles collector has certain challenges, especially when it comes to the

number of cards that you carry.

I love the idea of being a minimalist and only carrying what I need, but when it comes

to credit cards, I can't just use one card, especially when I'm trying to maximize bonus

categories with different credit cards.

Which is why I've used the Bellroy Card Pocket for several years now.

Before we get started, if you're new here, I want to welcome you to our channel.

Trip Astute is a travel channel that is focused on sharing ways to make travel easier, affordable,

and more enjoyable.

Traveling can be stressful and expensive, so we're looking for ways to help you maximize

your experience through travel tips, points and miles, and innovative gear.

If that's sounds interesting to you, please consider subscribing.

For many years, I carried a traditional bi-fold leather wallet.

Though what I found was that the pockets eventually got stretched out because I was cramming so

many cards in them.

And since I was rotating cards in and out depending on the rotating bonus categories,

I found I never had the same number of cards in my wallet every quarter.

I also tried a non-leather minimalist wallet for about a year called the HuMn wallet.

It's definitely an innovative design, and I'll probably do a separate review on it

at some point.

But when I was using it, I still preferred using a softer material.

I just find the harder materials to be a bit more rough in the pocket and more noticeable.

When I got the Bellroy Card Pocket, it was exactly what I was looking for.

I know a lot of you have been asking me questions about the wallet in many of our videos, so

today I thought I'd run through the features and show you why I like this wallet so much.

First off, Bellroy is an Australian company that was started in the early 2000s with the

goal of creating minimalist and responsibly-sourced wallets.

They now have all sorts of products, including wallets for both men and women, bags, laptop

and tablet sleeves, phone cases, pouches, key cases, and notebooks.

Their goal is to create highly functional products that improve the way you carry items

in your daily life.

Also, in case you're wondering, I do have two different colors of this wallet.

It's a long story, but basically my first Amazon order was lost, but then showed up

a month later,

so I decided to keep both.

Ok, let's run through what I like about this wallet.

Number 1: Simple design.

The zippered wallet has a simple design with two inner pockets, and one main

area in the middle.

I use the smaller inner sleeve for my cash.

I basically tri-fold the bills and slide them into the side pocket.

Bellroy markets the other pocket for coins, but I use it to store business cards and a

Tile Slim.

Then I use the middle area for all my cards.

Bellroy says that the wallet can accommodate more than 15 cards, and I believe them.

Right now I have nine in my wallet and it still has plenty of room for more.

Not only does the zipper keep everything secure inside, but I find it keeps out a lot of the

dirt and dust that tends to build up in more traditional wallets.

I know some people have expressed concerns about the cards getting scratched or worn

out by being loosely held in the wallet, but I haven't noticed any issues with my cards.

It might be because we're using the chip rather than the magnetic strip more often

for transactions, but I honestly haven't seen any major wear on my credit cards from

being in my wallet for over the past few years.

One thing that I like to do is to order my cards with my dining card first and my debit

and driver's license toward the end.

This makes it easy for to find my my cards in the stack and also remember which card

I need to use when trying to maximize a bonus category, especially when it comes to dining

out.

The liner inside is some sort of elastic nylon.

Bellroy also adds a print to the liner to give it a bit of personality, which is a nice

little touch.

Number 2. Small size.

I like that the wallet design is minimal.

This means that there aren't layers of materials on top of each other that would normally create

bulk in a wallet.

Despite having a lot of capacity, the wallet is very small.

This is actually the smallest wallet I have ever used, and is one of the reasons I continue

to use it every day.

I'm able to keep it in my front pocket along with my keys without it feeling bulky or really

noticeable.

Number 3: Full-grain leather.

Bellroy uses full-grain leather in their products which is responsibly

sourced.

It doesn't feel as substantial as some of my other full-grain leather wallets, but I

think it might be because the leather is thinner to make it more slim.

Though it still works really well, and has aged nicely in my pocket.

Also, the fact that it's responsibly sourced and environmentally certified makes me feel

better about it too.

Number 4: SIM card slot

I have to admit that I don't really use this feature, especially since

I use T-Mobile to roam for free when traveling.

However, it's a neat little feature if you regularly need to carry a spare SIM card.

Number 5: Three year warranty.

Bellroy products comes with a three-year warranty.

I personally haven't used their warranty service either, but I noticed that their customer

service has been proactively reaching out to folks with any issues on Amazon, which

is a good sign.

Number 6: Responsible business practices.

The wallet is made in India, and uses vegetable tanned

leather that is sourced under the Leather Working Group environmental protocols.

Bellroy is very involved and committed to the environmental practices in their business,

which includes not using toxins in the products and packaging.

I personally love that this is a big part of their mission.

I truly believe that we can influence and improve the world with our wallet … or not

technically our wallet but how we spend money.

You know what I mean!

Ok, so what don't I like about this wallet.

Well, there are a couple of things to keep in mind with the Bellroy Card Pocket that

you should be aware of.

Number 1: Trifold cash.

This is actually a big one.

If you regularly use cash in your life, I honestly wouldn't recommend using this wallet.

Having to tri-fold your cash and slide it into the pocket is not a seamless or convenient

process.

I tolerate it because I like the small size and I find myself using cash less and less

in my daily life.

But when I travel abroad and am using more cash, I actually carry a completely different

wallet that's designed for easier access to my notes.

Number 2: Zipper quality.

While it's perfectly functional, I definitely think the weakest point on the

wallet is the zipper.

I haven't had one rip yet, but the leather tab does seem like it will eventually wear

out.

It does fall off, I'll probably just add a small lanyard to the zipper.

Again, it's not a dealbreaker for me, but I'd love to see Bellroy upgrade the wallet

at some point with one of the locking or water resistant YKK zippers.

In fact, they are using the water resistant zippers in their All-Conditions Wallet, which

is similar to the Card Pocket, but more rugged for outdoor use.

The cost of the Bellroy Card Pocket is $60, and it's available on Amazon or directly

from Bellroy.

Overall, I really like this wallet.

It's not the fanciest wallet, but from a functionality point of view, it's served

me very well over the years.

As I mentioned earlier, Bellroy also has a similar wallet called the All-Conditions which

is water resistant, in case that's something that you want or need.

They also have some new zippered wallets like the Pocket Mini and Zip Wallet, so definitely

check out the different options available.

Have you tried the Bellroy Card Pocket?

If so, let us know what you think.

Also, if you have another wallet that you recommend, please share as well.

I've included Amazon links in the video description.

Trip Astute does get a percentage if you use our link.

It doesn't cost you anything extra, but it does help us to continue building content

for our channel.

If you enjoyed this video or found it useful, please give it a thumbs up and consider sharing

our video with others who might benefit from our content.

Until next time, travel safe and travel smart.

What Is The Hebrew Word For Breathe of God? - Duration: 4:15.

G'day everyone! My name is Dave and welcome to the best Bible devotion video

on the entire internet! That's not true. I literally have nothing to back that up.

Let's try it again. G'day everyone! My name is Dave welcome

to the best a two-minute Bible devotion video on all of YouTube. Wait. I don't

think that's true either. G'day everyone! my name is Dave welcome to the

best two minute Bible devotion video ... by an Aussie ... named Dave ...on YouTube.

I literally have no stats to back that up either. You know what, let's just roll

the intro and then we can talk about the Hebrew word for God's breath. Cool?

Well if this is your first time on my channel, this is the place where I like

to do short, two-minute videos that help you take the next practical steps in

your faith journey. I'd love it if you could SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you

haven't done so already. And make sure you hit that little bell icon so that

you never miss an episode. So last week I asked all of you for your suggestions

about what Hebrew word I should do a video on, and there were tons of great

suggestions. Which led to be picking the Hebrew word for "God's breath". Now have

you ever noticed that we don't usually think about our breath until we're running out of air?

But did you know that breathing is an important theme

throughout the Bible? I mean it starts all the way back in the story of

creation when God makes the first human out of mud. He then puts the skin, the

bones, the muscles, the veins, the blood vessels, even the hair in place ... but

even though all the pieces were in place the text says that the man did not

become a "living being" until God breathed into his body. Now, the

Hebrew word for breathe in this story is "ruach" which means breath, but it also

means "Spirit". Which means that while everything was together and it was all

in the right place, the man did not become a "living being" until God breathed

in His spirit. Now I think this is interesting for two main reasons:

First, according to the writer of Psalms, "everything that has breath praises the Lord."

Which means if we can experience full life, then we have to

inhale God's Spirit and exhale praise. Inhale God's Spirit, exhale praise.

Inhale. Exhale. And if you're a follower of Jesus then this is what the rhythm of

our life is supposed to be. Inhale God's Spirit. Exhale praise.

Now, the second reason this is interesting is that whenever we try to build something,

whether that's a relationship, a family, a career, a website,

a church, a YouTube channel, we might be able to pull everything together and put

everything in just the right place, but if we want that thing to be full of life

then we have to ask God to breathe his Spirit into it. So I wonder have you

created or developed something that you really want God to breathe His Spirit

into? I would love if you could tell me what that is in a comment so that I

could be praying with you and for you. So, they have it. The Hebrew word for "God's

breath" is "ruach", which also means "Spirit'. You know, I think I'm gonna keep this

series going, so if you have a biblical word that you would like me to do a

video on and explain, make sure you leave me a comment down below. As always, if

this video was helpful for you make sure you give me a thumbs up. Subscribe to my

channel if you haven't done so already. Make sure you leave me a comment down

below about what Hebrew word you want me to do next time, and hit that little bell

icon so that you never miss an episode. I'll see you next time

I can't breathe. I can't breathe. I can't breathe.

10 Amazing Things Seen For The First Time In The Animal World - Duration: 15:20.

10 Amazing Things Seen For The First Time In The Animal World

The animal kingdom is constantly under a microscope, having been gazed upon by thousands of researchers over the centuries. Even so, every year, mind-blowing new fauna appears and old familiars break the rules in dramatic ways.

The most wonderful discoveries are often the weirdest—things that burst, bones that glow, and a language that resembles human speech in almost every way.

The disaster of Pompeii is mostly remembered for its gray human bodies frozen in agony. Around 2,000 perished when the Mount Vesuvius volcano overcame the Roman city in AD 79.

Researchers have found a few animals skeletons, including mules and donkeys, but only managed to make two successful casts, that of a dog and pig. These casts are what visitors see when they look at the "bodies" of Pompeii today.

In 2018, archaeologists were clearing the ruins of a stable outside the city when they found the first horse of Pompeii. A clearly defined ear showed that this was not another mule.

The animal had perished inside the stable and was found on its side where it had fallen.[1].

In life, the horse stood barely 152 centimeters (5'0″) tall at the shoulder and would have been considered small by today's standards. But it was by no means unimportant.

Pieces of a bronze-and-iron metal harness unearthed near its head suggested that the horse was used during parades. Chameleons Glow In The Dark.

In 2018, researchers placed a few scaly subjects in the dark and zapped them with a UV lamp. In response, many of the chameleons began to glow an electric blue.

The bright biological light had nothing to do with the creatures' famed ability to switch shades. Remarkably, the neon radiance came from their bones.

This ability of bones to glow under UV light is not new to science and is often used by those seeking fossils.

But living skeletons are wrapped in muscle and skin, making it harder to detect. This newly identified ability in chameleons was easy to spot thanks to a more shallow structure.

The reptiles' skeletons are lined with bony protrusions that almost touch the skin, allowing for an unobstructed fluorescence. Since chameleons can see ultraviolet light, they probably glow to look romantic (males have more shiny protrusions) or to communicate.[2].

Not every chameleon has wattage, though. The trait is particular to rain forest–dwelling species where fluorescence flourishes in dark habitats. Interestingly, their skin could also boost the effect by filtering wavelengths of blue light. Dolphin Suffocated By Octopus.

In 2015, a dolphin washed up south of Perth. It was a male bottlenose in peak condition.

The cause of death bulged from its mouth—a Maori octopus. The mammal appeared to have choked to death, but the finer details made this case unusual. From the onset, it was something that had never been recorded before.

Dolphins hunt these creatures, but never before did one fatally gag on an octopus. During the autopsy, the smallish lump protruding from the bottlenose's mouth surprised the doctor by turning out to be a lengthy specimen.

The tentacles measured 1.3 meters (4.2 ft) long, and the cephalopod weighed 2 kilograms (4.6 lb).

To gulp down larger prey, dolphins temporarily disrupt their own breathing structure by dislodging the tissue connecting the blowhole and larynx. However, the octopus wrapped a tentacle around the larynx and the dolphin could not rebuild its breathing system.[3].

He never choked on the octopus—it suffocated him. There is even a chance that the dolphin was actively killed by dead prey. After death, an octopus's arms can remain reactive for quite some time. World's Most Bizarre Squid.

In the Gulf of Mexico floats a creature that may or may not be a squid. Even researchers who specialize in tentacled oddities have no idea what they're dealing with.

NOAA's Okeanos Explorer, a remote submarine, encountered the bright red animal in 2018 when the sub was thousands of feet under the sea. The creature had stubby arms, but other tentacles appeared to be missing. Strangely, the squid also swam like a nautilus.

What stumped biologists was its posture. Some arms were rolled up its back, some were underneath, and some stuck out to the side. This could have been a defensive posture because the squid was aware of the submarine.

Another possibly for the scrunched-up look is that the arms keep "marine snow" from falling off the squid's back so that it can be harvested later. These food particles come from shallower waters and feed many deep-sea mouths.

If so, this survival tactic is a new one for the record books. Additionally, this could be Discoteuthis discus, a squid known only from fragments and which had never been seen alive.[4].

When matabele ants get hunger pangs, they like to march over to a termite nest and make a meal of the insects. Since termites are no pushovers, this always leads to a battle before dinner.

Termites may have brute force, but the tiny sub-Saharan ant attackers have numbers, thanks to one unique behavior seen for the first time in 2017.

Matabele ants rescue their wounded comrades and carry them back home. No other ant species does this. By saving lives, their colonies are up to 30 percent bigger than if they had left the wounded behind.

Once snug and safe, the injured soldiers recover within days. Most rejoin the raids.

Before getting fuzzy feelings because you believe that insects are showing compassion, researchers warn that empathy has little to do with the ants' decision to pick up fallen friends.

Pheromones from the hurt ants' mandibles trigger the paramedics to come running. [5] In fact, it is highly likely that the rescuers are not even aware that help was needed.

Jared Towers have been studying killer whale pods in Canadian waters for years. In 2016, the cetacean expert's equipment lit up with frantic calls. They came from orcas northeast of Vancouver Island.

When Towers arrived to investigate, he found two family groups. The scientist recognized a 32-year-old male with his mother, and the pair was troubling another pod with a newborn calf.

As lethal aggression between killer whales is unheard-of, the scientist was shocked when the mother-and-son team worked together to kill the calf. They did not mutilate or consume the baby but simply drowned it.

The calf's mother could not stop them, even after she attacked the male so violently that he shook and blood flew.

Infanticide (the killing of an infant of the same species) has never been recorded among orcas. Researchers suspect that the pair attacked the family for the same reason that other species kill unrelated young—to pass on their own genes.

The involvement of the adult male's parent is the first hint that killer whale mothers help their sons (who often stay with them for life) with mating opportunities.[6].

In the forests of Borneo, a new ant species defends its home in a really weird way. Discovered in 2018, Colobopsis explodens is full of toxic goo.

When it encounters something perceived as unwelcome, the ant pops and splatters the enemy with a yellow poison. This tiny explosion is fatal to the popping ant but remains an effective weapon during territorial warfare with other nests.[7].

There are about a dozen ant species that burst in defense, but this one is by far the most bizarre. In addition, not every member of Colobopsis explodensgoes kamikaze on the neighbors. Only the minor workers have the ability to sacrifice themselves.

The major workers, identified by their larger heads, also have a strange tactic to protect the colony. The entrance hole of the nest has a diameter that is a close match to the noggin of a major worker.

When there's danger, one ant simply jams its head into the front entryway, refuses to budge, and then nothing can invade the nest. Sharks Missing Their Livers.

The fishing town of Gansbaai in South Africa does not mind being near shark-infested waters. Taking tourists to see the fearsome predators is critical to the town's prosperity.

In 2017, something strange started happening when several great white sharks washed ashore on the beach. Though their bodies appeared several days or months apart, all the sharks had one thing in common—a missing liver.

More disturbingly, when scientists examined the mutilated predators, they found that the organs had been extracted with surgical precision.[8].

The sharks were massive, with one female measuring 4.9 meters (16 ft) long. With scientists looking toward a bigger and bolder enemy, suspicion fell on local orcas.

Killer whales are known to consume shark organs, but plucking out the liver while leaving the rest is a first for South African waters.

Orcas may fancy the shark livers because they are packed with healthy vitamins and squalene. Responsible for the production of vitamin D, squalene also makes cholesterol and steroid hormones. Then again, maybe the livers just taste awesome to orcas.

Deer Eating A Human.

In Texas, a 26-acre piece of land regularly sees bodies being dumped in the woods. Far from being the local Mafia's killing grounds, the land is a so-called body farm.

Used by the Forensic Anthropology Research Facility from Texas State University, researchers study corpses in the wild. In 2017, a human body was left outside to see how it decomposed and what animals interacted with it. One unusual visitor was a white-tailed deer.

The herbivore showed up after the body had already been exposed to the elements for 182 days.

To the surprise of the observing researchers, the animal did something that no deer has ever been known to do—it ate some human. Choosing a rib bone, the animal proceeded to chew on it "like a cigar."[9].

Far from being a deviant, the deer was probably just after the nutrient-rich marrow. Though no hoofed herbivore has ever been known to snack on a human in this manner, other species, like sheep, do gnaw on the occasional bone.

In 2016, two dolphins named Yana and Yasha chatted away in their pool while a microphone listened. When researchers analyzed the recording, they realized that the pair was not just squeaking at each other for the fun of it.

Yana would emit up to five pulsed clicks in succession. During that time, Yasha was quiet and responded afterward with his own "sentence." Neither interrupted while the other clicked.

Such a conversation between dolphins has never been recorded before, even though the marine mammals are known for their complex communication.

Previously, scientists thought that dolphins only uttered what seemed to be one-word sounds to signal food, emotions, or location. The two Ukrainian dolphins proved them wrong.

By shifting volume and pace, the pulsed clicks formed sentences much like people would during a discussion.[10].

In fact, the chatty dolphins displayed all the trademarks that are present in human language. This enormous breakthrough proved that dolphins have a sophisticated spoken language of their own. Regrettably, scientists cannot decipher what Yasha and Yana talked about that day.

Got a Minute? Six tips to help homebuyers prepare for the homebuying process - Duration: 2:50.

[Intro Music]

<<Olin Chamberlin: It's officially the home buying season, and many of you are either

looking to purchase a home or helping those in the home buying process.

The great about it is, hey, I just purchased a home and, I used a Wells Fargo home mortgage

consultant.

It was a better process than I actually thought it was going to be.

I'm going to give you six tips to helping you purchase your home.

[Music]

Tip number one is actually knowing your credit profile.

Your credit profile will help you determine your interest rate and also how much money

you can actually borrow for your new home.

I do this as well, I have an app on my phone that actually monitors my credit.

If somebody pulls my credit or something negatively impacts my credit, I get an alert and then

that way I can keep track of what's happening with my credit.

[Music]

Tip number two is managing your debt.

Lenders actually look for total debt to be less than 36% of your gross monthly income.

[Music]

Tip number three is having money for a down payment.

Most people think that you need twenty percent for a down payment.

Most lenders have programs where you could use as little as three percent for a down

payment.

[Music]

Tip number four is demonstrate your proof of income.

Show your ability to repay the loan.

Tip number five is to have money in the bank.

For unexpected things that come up in homeownership for an example, a leaky roof, basement issues,

or anything of the like.

Number six is actually getting pre-approved.

It's important to get pre-approved so you understand what financing you actually qualify

for in the home buying process.

In my particular situation, I leveraged Wells Fargo Home Mortgage online application process.

And I will tell you that that was a time saving process and it was convenient.

When looking for a home, the key is to be prepared.

Hopefully these six steps that we just went over, will help you in your home buying process

and if not help you, help you help somebody else in their homebuying process.

I appreciate you taking the time to watch, Got A Minute.
